Dollism USA Dollism Plus US presented by DoA, Dollheart & Mint on Card - Sept 19-21 2014 ...

Yeah--I'm in the too "many dolls to even think of bringing them all for a second!" boat, too. I'm even thinking of not bringing ANY, actually, since I'm not entering any contests...

But the photo sets sound tempting... so maybe I'll haul one along. I'll have to try and not bring any of the super-big ones, since they won't fit in a carry-on, and checked luggage scares me since they often go missing or get opened by tsa or have thieves open to steal stuff. I'm also going to try not to bring any doll with bitty parts that can get knocked off and lost or damaged. And I'd rather like to bring a doll that is from one of the companies that will be there. That will definitely narrow down my choices... a little.

 

I'm planning to bring a lot of doll feet, to try on shoes.

 

I cant cant decide if I'm bringing anyone or not. Maybe a MSD? Ugh! I just don't know. I think I've run the entire size gambit already and we still have a while till the con.

I'm most likely just bring a couple of my boys. I'll want to have a doll with me, but I don't like keeping track of more than a few when I'm at a convention-I find it stressful lol

 

I have to admit that I've white-glued bitty parts onto my dolls, like Ritsuka's now-magnetic ears before I added magnets, and of course magnetic hands onto wrists before going places with them.

I have a question for everyone, and I'm serious about this.

How many of you will also be cosplaying?

I'm debating on cosplaying as Ryuichi Sakuma from Gravitation since I'm bringing my Ryuichi, and maybe even wearing matching outfits on each day. Nothing elaborate, since its a doll con. But it would be fun to actually wear matching outfits!

I might actually be bringing a cosplay to finish the last details (Noiz, dmmd), as I'm going to a con back home the weekend after, but I didn't plan on cosplaying at Dollism itself.

It could be fun wearing matching casual outfits to those of my dolls, though, so I might do that.

 

I'm hoping to successfully cosplay as a totally relaxed and well-rested version of myself.

I dressed in costume for the final Banquet at the BJDC in 2012... supposedly costumes were encouraged... but most people didn't dress up! And yes, the outfit took up room I really could have used in my suitcase... Hopefully, I'll travel a LOT lighter for this con! If there is cool stuff to be had--I want it, and I don't want to worry about shipping!

 

I was wondering if people who aren't staying in the hotel can still sit/eat in the hotel cafe? Also, can we make doll requests? I would love it if someone could bring a DT 18yrs girl body

I'd personally love to see a Doll-Leaves Kira, Angell-Studio Aaron, any male soulkid with the NL body, Souldoll Shiva, any Doll Chateau adult doll, or any fantasy doll lol. And if anyone would like to see any of mine, take a look at my doll-list & let me know!

 

That sounds like a wonderful costume! Sadly, I am going to be cosplaying a travel-frayed and jet-lagged version of myself. We're taking red-eye flights both ways, in on Friday morning & out on Sunday night, and I have a rotten back so I will be forced to take the tiny suitcase (the one without room for cute clothes ;; ).

But, my dolls are quite costumey enough for two. I don't know which one I'll bring yet, but it'll be somebody skinny.

 

yes fabulous idea...though I think my dolls have way too many shoes already, but now I'll have to add that to my ever growing list of things to check on for each of my dolls...who needs what.

I have contemplated dressing up in different fashions, not cosplay per se because since it will just be random things like maybe something steampunky one day, possibly lolita if I can find time to make myself something...or maybe a combination of both..lol. Though I'm still trying to decide who to take. I'd like to have him/her/them dress similar to me for each day (same style not same outfit..lol). More than likely an MSD that I can stick in the shoulder harness or my Dollmore Mokashura if she comes in by then.

 

I've got a Sugarble naga boy, a Lume Koit modded to have Soom Alk feet/legs, RS Yao on Ming body and an RS Pixiu for fantasy type dolls. As far as unusual/not often seen sculpts, I've got an OD Tae vampire, Leeke Khal Vampire, Soom Auber Storm Sprite, CD Longway, Cherish Chubby Demon, LE Doll/AoD collab Adonis and an OT HZ Roro. The tinies are easy enough to transport. the SD's... I'm not sure if I going to attempt to transport them since my trip is a couple of hours long on various types of public transportation.

 

MasahtiJade- I will have my Doll Chateau's there (Christina and Dolores)! Would LOVE too see a Shiva too!

Lucky for me, my cosplay outfits don't take up too much space, since Ryuichi wears mostly regular guy-like clothes. And since otherwise I wear jeans, t-shirts and converses, its not a problem for me.

MasahtiJade: I'm thinking that quite a few of my tinies will be coming since they're the easiest to transport. I'll try and remember to bring along Sleet (Soom Auber).

 

I have an Auber, too. I'd be worried about breaking the wings, though. I think that's because I got a damaged wing sent to me and Soom kindly replaced it, but I've been a bit paranoid about it since then...

 

I'm not sure that I'd bring Sleet's wings although when he does go places with me, they travel in his padded case and he's usually hitching a ride in the doll bag with one of my other dolls.

 

Guys....seriously there are 64 days until the convention....was there a time warp or something? How in the workd is it going by sooooo fast? I am no where near prepared for this...*sigh*

Still, I need to finalize my list of dolls and their outfits...too much to do!

I'm most likely bringing Asher, and he's most likely not going to be dressed super-fancy because he likes to keep it casual. I might also bring Paige, since I haven't brought her and Asher out as a couple in a long time, and nobody ever sees Unidolls anymore. As for the others, I still have no idea who else I'm going to bring with me. I'm going to travel light, so I don't want to load myself down with too many. I just know this is something I'm going to decide on the night before.

If anyone still needs a room at the convention hotel, I just cancelled my reservation for 2 nights (Sept 19-21) for a standard double room (4 adults). It should be up for grabs in the hotel room block.

 

I'm still hoping I get in my minifees before I can decide. So far for certain Sebastian is coming since he's a Soom Covell. Maybe a Cutie Delf as well.

Yes, time is flying by! It will arrive all too soon, but I'm really looking forward to it.

SOOM... hmmm... well, they usually have limited dolls that they pre-sell. They might do a limited doll just for Dollism. Didn't they do that for the NY con they were at a few years back? Or they might just bring dolls they have--basics or ones that they might have sold in a post-MD Event...???

 

I'm hoping that Soom will bring some of the previous MD's for sale. My wallet is hoping that they don't bring the one I'd like so I don't buy him and put a huge dent in my reserve cash *laughs*.

 

I definately don't want them to bring any of their MDs I missed out on because I can't afford to buy another doll at the moment @.@. We asked Victoria if they had plans to bring a limited for the convention and they said there wasn't anything in the works for it. They were also really confuse about it saying they cancelled the meet the artists, as Victoria said they hadn't cancelled and were looking forward to meeting everyone.

 

Oh, it does look like the schedule was edited to Meet Ruby Red Galleria instead of Meet Soom. That's weird. Maybe they'll be changing that to a later time as a closing event? No idea.

 

I hope so! They said they'd speak with the organizers about it so hopefully it gets resolved if it really was a mishap. Or maybe Victoria just isn't aware that the attending artists cancelled.

Wow, this is coming up quickly! Did they ever say which photo areas were in which size? That might affect who I bring along. I'm thinking I'll only bring minis and tinies - probably two minis and maybe stick my Resinsoul tiny and Puki Puki in my purse. Maybe my MNF Elf Yder will come along - he needs clothes desperately, but I can at least get a couple basics for him from Dollmore to pick up there.

Also, is anyone coming that plays Magic the gathering? I'm sure my hubby would love to play with others at some point. I'm afraid he'll get tired of dolls even though he collects too lol.

Never tried MtG, but I do have a crapload of Yugioh cards that I've never learned to play with yet. I thought the game looked like fun, though, so I bought several decks. Used to love the original anime, too. Never much got into the spin offs, though, and I haven't bought cards since the first series ended.

 

I have some MtG cards but I am so horrible and rusty at playing!

I'm bringing my 3DS and pokemon games for it...

one thing i'd may like to do is try my doll game(from a kick starter i joined) and also the Boob tree game..(the frist meet up i manged to go to we played this)
So far i think Rowan(my Lut's Yul) and Sian (Dearmine Storm) are both coming for sure.

 

I was planning on bringing my 3DS for sure! I know I'll be bringing my Soom Grit for sure but I'm not sure about who else. I want to bring my AoD Wang Zi and DF-H Zhao Yu to find better clothes and shoes for them. I want to bring one of my centaurs or one of my LS dolls, but I just don't know.

 

I don't have a 3DS so unless any other South Carolina people have one, and there seems to be very few of us, I doubt my state will be one you guys get.

 

I've done art for a couple of MTG cards (old cards, but a couple foiled more recently: Lotus Petal, Intuition, and Aluren). If anyone has some and wants them signed, just hunt me down!

I'm really looking forward to this con. First time in upstate NY. First time to see Niagara Falls. DOLLS! This is going to be a fun vacation trip for me.

 

I didn't realize registration was closed. I was going to register my mother, who wants to come now... Thats a shame.

Now I'm worried because they never sent me a registration number for my sister, who I did register in the spring. I've already emailed them... You know I'm hoping I accidentally deleted her email, so they can just resend it. Otherwise I might have a bigger issue... D:

Maybe you supplied her email for her registration? That's how it was for my sis, though I'm the one who purchased her tickets, so I have two PayPal receipts and one confirmation number, I know she has the other. Ah, I'm getting so excited these days, LOL! Except when I think about flying across the country with dolls, sob!

Confirmation numbers were sent? I know I don't get one as a vendor, but my partner registered as a regular attendee well before we hit the 200 mark and has received no confirmation of any kind.

 

Confirmation numbers were processed manually. After got mine, I could sign up for some of the workshops.

From Dollism website: "After you register you will receive an email with your registration number, this is done manually, so you will not immediately receive a registration number after you have registered & paid."

I carry mine everywhere, especially to conventions! Dollism will be no exception

Yeah, they gave out mine a day or so after I signed up to be a volunteer. I'd just email them, they were saying that with the influx of registrations, they were having a hard time keeping up emailing everyone at some point.

April- Your artwork for MtG is fabulous. I wish I had those cards!

And I have a 3DS but I've never done anything with Street Passes XD. Maybe someone can show me if I bring it along?
