    2. Vendors list updated. Quite a few more doll companies, artists have registered. Be sure to check it out.

    3. Very exciting to see so many vendors this early into 2014!

    4. Just paid for my vendor booth! :D
And OMG YOU GUYS! Enchanted Doll will be there!!! :D:D:D:D

    5. I had to go back and look because I didn't see them upon first glance but you're right! I cannot wait to see them in person :D.

    6. Man, this keeps getting better and better. <3 Can't wait!!

    7. So excited! Hope Volks come!

    8. I'm still keeping my fingers crossed that DollChateau will attend! Or Julia Cross ( La Legende des Temps)! Or An Jong Hak and Torre of Dollstown! But that last wish is almost as unlikely as Volks. :sweat

    9. An Jong Hak and Torre would be a dream come true! And Doll Chateau? I might think that I died and went to Heaven!
Well, it can't hurt to wish can it?

    10. I'm holding my breath for Lillycat..... Nefer Kane .... Lots of smaller artists whose work I don't often get to see...

Sent from my XT1049 using Tapatalk

    11. I would love to see La Legend de Temps there! I have been dying to get my hands on a Roderich.

    12. And I have my hotel room booked, and I registered for the convention as well. :)
SOOO excited to be coming to Dollism! :whee:

    13. I'm impressed so many vendors and artist are already on the list. I can't wait to see Enchanted Doll's work in person. :3 If this is just the beginning my wallet is going to be begging for forgiveness before this is all over. XD

    14. Random question (can't remember if it was asked..): can we use the room-sales period to have trades? Or can we do trades regardless?

    15. I'm hoping for Sadol... Because I have an addiction and I need more! (As well as in no particular order; Tree-Design, NineStyle, Crobidoll, and Volks)

    16. It's really exciting to see more companies attending. Do we know how long registration will be open for?

    17. I think they're running registration until they sell out. At least it was mentioned that door registration was dependant on whether or not there were tickets left. However there wasn't any information on how many tickets were available. Hope that helps!

    18. Dearmine O,o -dies-

    19. OMG! Soom is coming!! SOOM! Oh dear god...*dies*

    20. purchased registration and hotel room :D

its nice that we can start early and spread-out the spendings...

also, i've been on here for a while, but dont really know anybody :sweat... hope people are nice! and looking forward to making new friends

    21. So I just tried to reserve my hotel room for the 17th-23rd and the 17th, 22nd and 23rd are sold out at our room rates. I called, just to ensure that I could speak to someone and I was getting correct information. It's so early before the convention, are there any plans to reserve more rooms for the days before/ after the convention at the convention rate or do I need to try and find other accommodations? We just solidified our group of who's going and I'm a little unnerved to think that we have to fly so far to be upended twice 8D;;

Any information is awesome. I'd love to book as soon as I can, but I can wait for more rooms to come about if need be, or I can look for other lodgings... <3 Just trying to get the best rates possible and move as little as we can. <3

    22. Syndal_lynn, I would suggest reserving your room at the higher rate for those dates. I started out with a really wonky reservation at three different rates, with notes on my reservation that said I had other preferences, and it all worked out eventually. The folks I spoke to at the hotel did say that it was better to snag something early and fix it later.

    23. Thanks St. James! One more question for you before I call them back, if you have any insight for me. <3

They told me that I could reserve my room in the convention block for the 18th, 19th, 20th and 21st but then not only would I have to pay a higher room rate but I'd also have to move rooms as the rooms in our block are sold out for the dates afterward. With that information, do you think I still ought to reserve for my full amount of days (until the 23rd/ 24th) and see if it can be worked out or is the introduction of the sold out rooms information going to make it so I really should just go to another hotel for after the convention?

Sorry for all the questions and if you don't have answers, it's not a problem! We're trying to figure out other accommodations too, just in case but if you feel something can be worked out with the convention hotel, I definitely want to know. <3 thanks again for your information and patience!

    24. No problem! They can note on your reservation that you'd prefer to stay in the same room. By the time September rolls around things will be different anyway. I was told that the room type (ie king or double) that you reserve wasn't necessarily what you'd end up with. I asked for a king but there were only doubles left for two of the days, so I booked a double for the whole time with a request that I get a king if possible. Prior to that I'd been in a hypoallergenic room for two of the days, but the reservation manager got that ironed out. If registration continues at it's current clip, it's possible that Dollism can negotiate an expansion of the room block rates, but in the meantime just take whatever you can get! :)

    25. Alrighty! Thank you for everything, I appreciate it!! :D You're amazing!

    26. Wow, Marina Bychkova. I've always wanted to see her dolls in person. I wonder what she's bringing?

    27. Syndal_lynn, I'm kind of dissapointed, too. From what I've been reading, the convention rate was gone before the roommate thread even opened up--and really quickly after registration started! That's a good sign for the convention attendance though. :)
I'm pretty sure, if I reserve rooms at full price, they're going to hold me to that when I check out and pay. I guess I just don't understand how booking these hotel blocks for conventions work. If the block of rooms reserved for the convention are already reserved, can't the organizers work with the hotel to add more rooms or our block?

      Thanks for any information!

    28. Well honestly the hotel only has so many rooms, and from a business standpoint they are probably not going to want to rent them all out at a discounted rate. The room block also has the added advantage of having all the rooms in the same general area of the hotel, so it might also depend on layout. While that doesn't necessarily mean they won't add more rooms, I wouldn't depend on it either. It's rrally just a matter of the organizers being at the mercy of the hotel for more rooms, though they may be inclined to increase the block slightly by popular demand.

    29. I've got rooms reserved, but I definitely feel for those who don't have something sorted out the way they wish. It seems to be a bit early for the block to be sold out. I would assume there are enough rooms for those who want to attend... since people won't come without having rooms. Hopefully the block will be expanded for more people... unless there is a limit of attendees or something like that...?

    30. the rooms are still available for 19, 20 and 21, but I guess they allotted less for a larger days span, as may be they expected most people to be staying only those 3 days

    31. Latidoll has confirmed they are coming.

    32. Well, at least I'm reserved for the convention itself now. <3 If things change, I'll add days on otherwise myself and my friends will figure out something neat for the remainder of our days out there! It is what it is, at least we get to enjoy the convention! :D

Woo, latidoll! 8D Things keep getting better and better. Man, I hope Crobidoll and Nine9Style come. My bank account may die though... :P

    33. I'm still holding out hope for Volks to show, after they exhibited at IDEX last year! I'm also looking at more things to do on our non-convention days, and might try to go apple & pear picking! All I get to pick down here in Florida is citrus and mangos, papayas, avocados and the like. ;)

And about the room rate - the block is indeed only confirmed for the convention days, though the rate is available around the "pillow" days, 3 before and 3 after I think? The best way to find out if the extra days are indeed sold out is to call the hotel directly (not the toll-free line) and speak to the sales manager. That's what I did when I booked, and they were adding only about 5 rooms at convention rate at a time, from what I understood from our conversation.

    34. Good to know that the days of the con are still open for hotel reservations! :)

    35. That's definitely a relief!

Ooh Latidoll! It'll be nice to see what they exhibit.

    36. I haven't looked at the vendor list in a while - Holy Crow!! I'm so excited! I just registered so I can be all official now and actually talk about it! :D

I've always wanted to see some of those companies in person. If DC were to go I might be in resin heaven. Gotta start scraping up my change now...

    37. Looking at the vendor list makes me realize that I need to come up with a boatload of money because I'm going to want to buy a lot!

    38. Ooooohhh! Dearmine is coming!!! Heh. I'm getting all excited, too!

I still need to get my membership, though... :sweat

    39. This just gets better and better. :)

Will definitely need to have lots of funds available.

    40. Finally reserved!! (excited)

    41. As of this past Thursday....have vacation slotted for the convention.

    42. I know right? I need to start saving now...and I am so excited for Dollmore I can't even express....somehow I need to find a way to drag all of my Kara Klums to Dollism now. All of them.

(ok, probably not all,but close!!! At least two!)

    43. Omg yes. I'm still struggling too over whether I should bring all my dolls...(Cuz they have odd proportions...JID, skinny msd, yosd with really tiny feet, SD with really big feet)

I wanna make sure things fit them..but at the same time I balk at the thought of having to lug 6 dolls around...

    44. Trying to figure out which dolls to haul across country is such a paralyzing problem! :? It's like a reality competition here, we've got it narrowed down to the top six, who will win one of the two spots in the suitcase?

    45. Haha! My daughter, a friend, and I are driving so we can bring them aaaaaaaaaaaalllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll!

    46. It will be tough to decide who gets to go with me. I'm thinking two or three, and one tiny. Now what. Eenie meenie?....

    47. If I weren't able to bring them all, I would bring the dolls that are the hardest to find clothes for. My JID boy would top that list!

    48. Well there's still like 8 months to decide...but I probably won't decide until September...

    49. Remember that you will need space in your luggage in case you actually buy things!!! Just bring dolls that you really need to bring--to find hard-to-fit clothes for, or maybe for a costume contest--if there are any... but don't go crazy--particularly if you're flying and have a chance of having bags lost in the system!!! *_*

    50. Choosing who comes with to this con is going to be a very tough thing. Do I bring my favourites who are dead easy to clothe and don't require anything? Do I bring the unusual ones to show off? Do I want to be lugging around 2 nearly 70cm dolls when I need to take a 1 hour train ride and then a 3 hour bus ride with limited luggage space? Do I bring the limited/obscure sculpts to show off? If I bring the one-offs, how can I go and not take their standard partners (because it wouldn't seem right not to bring their partners along)?

These are not easy questions to answer. I find myself changing my mind every other week about who should come. I'll be really screwed if one of the dolls I want turns up there available for immediate sale. How can you resist buying right away and not having to do the customary wait?

    51. I have two yo's (three if you include the doll leaves panda), two msd's, and one sd. I'm pretty sure they can all fit into a bag...

And we're driving from NYC, so my biggest concern (I guess) is who I'll be walking around the con with...

    52. I've been so concerned with who I might be bringing home that I haven't even thought about who to bring with me.

I know I shouldn't worry about it--I'm just so eager to meet someone new there! Saving the pennies!

    53. I'm taking the train up from NYC, so I think I can bring a pretty big suitcase, but I'm vending (with St. James!) so I have to fit all my stock, too. LOL So limiting! I really only know for sure of one doll I want to bring. It's totally up in the air after that.

    54. Heh, my dolls can model your clothes and your dolls can model my jewelry and we'll have twice as many! ;)

This is when I'm really glad that my stock is teeny tiny!!

    55. I have had a request for my Chrom...but with 93 dolls (2 are heads) I guess I should bring minis?

    56. Hey all~

I have a couple of questions, if anyone knows the answers that would be great! First off, does attending Dollism require going all three days? Can I go for just the weekend? Or is registration only on Friday and you have to be there to get in?

      Thanks!

    57. They will have registration open on Saturday also! There has been no mention of a single day pass.

    58. There will be single day passes. Details will be announced soon.

    59. My plan is to mail things home to myself. Even a doll can be broken down into base components and shoved into a flat-rate Priority box. Getting there is my only worry, sending things home will be easy.

    60. Hmmm... I wonder if the hotel does a mailing and pick-up service? That would be convenient. Otherwise you'd need to allow time to get packing materials and get to a Post Office or shipping center...
