Dollfie Dream - General Discussion!

Sep 24, 2006

1. Some black gothic boots, most likely or even the cutesy goth loli style mary janes since I did locate one or two goth loli outfits

2. I remember seeing those one weekend. I'm glad that I they finally have a home. :D

3. Something like this? [IMG]

4. Yeah, those are along the lines of my idea. But I might hold off until I find something for the DDdy to wear. TT^TT Sucks that I lack sewing skills

5. Those are my black boots and they are SD size and they fit on my ladies.

6. Ah... Well at least I know the general size they can fit now. :)

7. You'll pick up sewing skills if you try. I made this for a M bust DD and stretched it over a DDdy body (my nails ended up ripping it)

8. I LOVE THE WHITE BOOTS! I got them too. :)

9. Nice!

I sent an email to Leeke World about nothing happening with my order. Hope they respond soon. Also the address formatting was weird when I filled it out. Anyone else noticed this? (Shipping to the US)

10. The clothes I have found are nice that seem like they should fit on the DDII.
I found on Iplehouse a leather corset for a large busted EID female and figured it might fit on the DDII as well as some matching pants and a sultry bodysuit with lacing up the sides from the legs to the torso.
I also found a swan lake ballerina outfit with matching ballerina slippers

11. Well let me know what fits!

12. Shall do. I'm currently browsing around on my quest for the Mai outfit :sweat but not bearing too much fruit even on ebay. Everyone is selling it with the doll

13. i also ordered a few items from Leeke world and i notice they don' t have a slot for people
to enter their city name on their address.

14. I just looked at the order form and you fill out the city and such just as you would if you are mailing a letter. It all goes in the same line.
For example:

1234 Brookwood Ln Rochester Hills Michigan

And if you're looking for clothing check yahoo japan constantly, new awsome things pop up every day. You'll have to use a bidding service (my favorite is celga) though because none of the japanese sellers will ship outside the country.

PS: EID clothing will mostly NOT fit even a DDY so be careful what you order!

15. Hi all! :D Just popping into the thread since I'm hoping to get into Dollfie Dreams someday <3 Seeing Maria Ushiromiya up for sale just sealed it all for me XDDD I'm looking forward to when they'll release Beatrice, if they do!

16. Do obitsu heads fit DD body?

17. I don't think so, but then I can't say for sure as I am a first time DD owner. So to be safe I won't take the chance to test it out and will resign myself to an SD13 or SD16 later on

18. They can be easily modded to fit a DD body, you just need to add a rubber washer ^^. It can also be done with expoxy but if you do that the head will never be able to fit on an obitsu body again.

19. Hmm, tell me how would i use expoxy?

20. You would use the epoxy to fill in part of the conection hole in the head to attatch it to an Obitsu body, and make it round and smaller to be compatable with a DD body ^^.

21. A bit of heads up regarding the compatibility of EID girl clothes on DDs - S, M, L and dy - since these two doll types have such different proportions.

EID girls are 65 cm tall, with massively broad bodies and significant chests.
DD girls are 57 cm tall, very slim yet curvy, with significant chests.
DDdy girls are the DD girls chunkier cousins - slightly broader body with quite substantially larger chest.

Stretchy EID items, and things that have a lot of room for lacing things very much tighter, have a chance of fitting a DD.

The famous EID catsuit, so beautifully body hugging on a EID....

.... will be both too long and most likely baggy on a DD.

The EID pictured is my husband's Jessica.

22. I just purchased that outfit too. It came yesterday. Wished I had this advice before buying..... *Sighs*

23. Well I'm totally sorry you didn't see this now =(

24. How about DM?

25. Assuming you mean Dollmore, you could again do an epoxy mod on it. However the Model heads would be too big.

26. Does the DD L outfits also fit a DDdy chest?

27. If you have the default bust it should yes, but it might be a bit tight. If you have the shapely bust....I'd seriously consider not buying it if it's expensive.

28. Have you seen Sasara's outfit? I had to hold her boobies down to get her default outfit on her! I am going to search outfits now :)

29. I meant if DM clothing fits DD

30. Ah in that case, some of the stretchier tops fit fine I've been told. I honestly have no clue about pants or any other pieces.

31. For clothes, go with the model doll size and not sd size. sd size doesn't generally work well well, especially for tops.
Several of the outfits Zoe and Saber have are model doll sized DM clothes.

For shoes, it's hit and miss. You'll generally have better luck with the MSD sized ones, but check the sizes as they vary a lot.

These clothes were all from Dollmore.

32. My DD Aoi wore this SD Dollmore uniform very well IMO. :) The notes I made to myself were DDII should be able to wear DM clothing fine as hips, height and bust are near the same, just watch out for the waist which I have as 17 cm for DM and 18.5 cm for DDII....I figured that DM elasticated skirts could be worth the chance, but trousers might show up the differences more with regard to waist and hips....

DM hips 24.5cm , DDII hips 23cm
DM waist 17 cm, DDII waist 18.5cm
DM chest 23.5 cm, DDII chest 24cm
DM foot 6.5cm, DDII foot 7cm
DM height 57cm, DDII height 58cm

33. Does anyone have a decent translation for today's DD blog entry? I tried to get through it myself, but my reading comprehension is, shall we say, pathetic. ^^; From what I gather though, it outlines the basics of Dreampoint, where you get points on Volks purchases towards a lottery entry for some undisclosed DD stuff. Doesn't look too good for those of us outside Japan though, since it says web orders aren't eligible for point collection.

34. Ooo stamp cards! Yeah, unfortunately those need to be stamped in person at Sumika's/Tenshi no Sato.

35. Bugger. Well, I sure hope that the prize-reward thingies aren't particularly cool, then, since they'll without a doubt be difficult and likely expensive to acquire for the rest of us. XD

36. Well after FIVE MONTHS of waiting my dollheart outfit came today! It fits my girl so perfectly it was so worth it X3 If anyone wants to see i'll post pictures but my girl has no head *groans* although i'm getting approval picies from the artist tomorrow so that's good too =)

37. I want to see!

38. Nice ones but somehow I don't really see my DD girls as the marrying kind so think I will pass on this one :D

39. Really pretty dresses....now if only they'd release some male DD's my girls can get themselves hitched! ;)

40. Yay!!! My man is finally on here! *clangtastic* I told him he had to check out this thread first.

41. I store Mashiro's clothing into a chocolate box... Somehow I think its too small, need a bigger box.:doh

42. I'm so jealous of all the beautiful dollfie dream dolls you guys own! 。°（°´д｀°）°。
- I'm interested in the Yui and Mio dollfies, but I'm afraid to buy them - what if they get stained? What do I need to buy, so I can protect them? How flexible are they (I saw some pictures, where an owner inserted some kind of clear plastic ring in their leg, so they could stand better, what's that called?)? So much to worry about ...

43. Jordbaar - That sounds like the 'kips', which are to used to give the doll better stability in posing. This thread here has some nice clear photos (scroll down to post #13)

With regard to flexibility chibichibiusa provided this great comparison thread between the DDII body and the DDdy. With regard to protecting your doll, there is alot of information already in this thread, but you may need to search for it ;), also you could check out this thread from the workshop section.

Hope this helps^^

44. Hi, I have a Yui DD and love her, you should get one too! You won't regret it :)

I was also worried about staining at first but it hasn't really been such a big issue. I'm generally careful to not leave her in dark clothes which cause the worst staining. Even so, I have had a few small stains but I've actually managed to remove following advice found here and elsewhere. Basically I bought some pimple cream with 10% benzoyl peroxide and it really does work. Just had to leave it on Yui for a couple days but it did remove the stains. Perhaps that was partly because they were fresh stains and didn't have time to really sit in the vinyl. Long-time stains might be more difficult to remove. Anyway, you do need to be a bit careful with DDs to prevent staining but I wouldn't worry about it too much :)

45. gelfling9uk - Thank you for all the help! Now I know a whole lot more and I'll also try out the search too :)!

anonymous_object - My heart just went 'HNNNNG' when I saw your avatar! Your Yui is so cute! Thanks for all the advices, now I'm not that scared of staining anymore. I definitely want Yui sometime :D

46. Everyone's DDs are so pretty! ^.^ Now, I can't wait till we hear more about what Volks has in store for us! I hope it's not Miku yet, cause right now all my hobby money is going towards Otakon... ^^;

For wigs, the easiest way to store them is in a plastic baggie like a zip-loc, with a few very small slits cut in em with scissors, so you can squeeze the bag and let most of the air out. Then you can stick em pretty much wherever, as long as they won't be in the way of heat, direct sunlight (also a heat problem), can't get crushed by anything really heavy, common sense stuff. All piled in a box is where I keep mine!

If the wig came with a wig net, keep it, and put the wig in it before you put it in the bag! It'll help prevent tangles. So if you don't have enough wig nets to go around, put them on the longer wigs.

47. They are absolutely gorgeous!!! I love the strapless one :aheartbea...it's funny because I'm getting married next month on the 5th.

48. It would be awesome if there was a Dollfie Dream Miku (♥∀♥)! But, yeah, not right now - I'm also trying to save up money for my first doll (Either DD Yui or a TinyFairy) and I need to pay a lot of figure pre-orders >_<

49. You can also use the Obitsu neck piece. It's a very tight fit getting the Obitsu neck piece in the DD2 neck but it will fit. However you will need to remove the DD2 neck peg from the DD2 skeleton. The Obitsu neck piece doesn't really attach to the skeleton but the neck vinyl holds it pretty firmly.

50. Hi does anyone have instructions how how to take apart a DD? I got the arms and calves but not the rest. TIA!

51. Im currently customising a Miku DD, ill post a pic when its finished :)

52. That sounds interesting! I look forward to see her :D

53. Oh no! I just bought Mio and Yui through a seller on ebay for a reasonable price. I'm so happy! But how do I tell my parents that I just spent so much money? They are properly going to be angry, but hey, it's my money, right? Right ?? And I'm old enough to decide what I want to use my money on Σ（゜д゜）I know they like the dolls, so I'll try not to tell them the price and just show them the dolls when they arrive, then they'll forget anything about money （≧∀≦）♪

I can't wait :3
(sorry about the double post ↑ but no one else has posted since yesterday ;_;)

54. Sweetie I know what you mean perfectly. When my babies came, I lied to my mom and told her I got one for 30 bucks and the other she don't know about :D But I have explained to her just what these doll can range from in price but again I said $30 from an ebay seller so she'll never be any wiser! LOL

55. Thank you, it's nice to know I'm not alone! (*・▽・)／＼(･▽･*）
lol, what a nice mom - maybe I should try to do the same as you! They would never find out about it!

56. After all these vinyls, I'm finally getting my first resin!!! Hubby doesn't know how much they are going to be, of course the ones I fell in love with had to be LE. :( Once he finds out he's going to kill me! LOL. He always complained about my DDs until I bought him his own! Now that's all he talks about. My mom on the other hand thinks I'm nuts for spending that much (she knows what they run for) but yet when I take them to her house she is always playing with them. :)
