I've planned to buy Aio, a MSD girl but I want to research more about it before I pay for it....
I saw the head mold is lovely indead, but how about the body? their pose-ability?

Mah surprised me recently when, after having stolen her big sister Arista's dress, offered to help me decorate the tree. Normally Mah-Mah just sits and glares at me disapprovingly. D:

I cant seem to find it, I want to know how large of a wig I will need, eye size (in-case I don't like the eyes he comes with) and I am ordering from contemporary artist dolls, should I go ahead and order from them, or should I order from somewhere else? he is perfect for the doll I want to make with faceup, if you need a link to compare just ask and I will link!

I have on a short layaway a RongXuan! When he came out, it was love at first site, and when MoC had one in stock, I went ahead and ordered! He'll need much smaller eyes as his are WAY too big, but I have extra wigs and clothes...

I have had a Julian for a few months now. The first time I did his face it really didn't grab me all that much, so I redid it today. Here's the before and after. Much better I think. Here's some Julian (now Arden) spam for you Drake.

Mmmnope... Never noticed it, but then again I try not to. I am not happy with his body as it is, but I'm not confident enough to mod it so that it looks more mature. So I try not to look.

 

Yes, the bods kinda have that pre-adolescent fleshiness to them. Funny because I chose him because he was the most mature looking MSD I could find. I think I might try body blusing some chest /muscle definition and abs on him and see if that helps.

 

I would really like to do some sanding work on him, to give him less man-boob, and possibly a little more stomach definition, but I'm not confident enough to do so myself, and can't currently afford to send him to a customizer for now.

 

Yay! I finally found the Doll Family thread. This is my ZhiYan and her name is Elmira. Her twin brother Tom is a RongXuan and he is currently having his faceup done.

 

Oh wow this thread is so dead omg. We need to revive it! I just got my lovely Zacchaeus, a ZhaoYu/Rain, last week. He sadly doesn't really have anything yet so he just sits around naked with an SD sized wig on since wig-less dolls creep me out OTL. I'll be commissioning clothing and a wig for him soon though. I'm jusr waiting on payments come in so I can pay for the clothes and for a reply on the wig. Here's a picture I took of him though:



I'll also be putting a ZhiYan on layaway next month through MoC.

Your ZhiYan's are lovely ResidentJill~ Ah they're making me want my girl to come home soon even more. I ordered back in February through MoC but I haven't heard any news of shipment yet.

I also have a JiFeng coming in tomorrow that was instock on MoC so I snatched him up practically the second I saw him lol.

You've all seen Zacchaeus before but now he's finished! Both his clothes and wig were custom made for him. Next to him is Karshan my DF-A JiFeng. He was a recent sudden acquisition as I saw him in-stock at MoC and kind of jumped on him lol. He's had several subtractive modifications done (ears and feet) as well as being dyed. I'm still so upset that only DF-H offers tan resin. I don't understand why DF-A doesn't.

Karshan is still far from finished. He still needs to have clothes made and he needs a different wig since he's a brunette. Hopefully I'll have him done by august though.

Wow this thread is quiet... I'm thinking of getting an August head but finding owner pics is impossible. Not only because he's probably owned by only a few, but also because searching for 'doll family august' gets me people's doll family pics taken in August XD

Wow, not many people here in the Doll Family thread Well I just got my first Doll Family-H boy and I have to day I love him! His body is a lot thicker than my other dolls. I got a Zhao Yu and named him Mack. He still needs a face but he is slowly coming together!

Been looking for Doll Family threads for a while, finally found it!

Suprised there arn't alot of owners, I love em. I've got a Zhi Yan, bought it at the BJD store in my country. She's my first and I wanted to buy a doll after being able to see, hold and pose it. I'm very picky when it comes to faces, expression and ears, but when I saw her I was in love!

I have her for a few months now and I'm extremely happy with her. She poses very well, can do about anything and fits alot of clothes. Her facial experession is very versatile and can change with different angles and lighting. The resin is sturdy, easy to clean and doesn't scratch quickly. The shape of the hands is great and I'm a big fan of the knee joints.

I'm planning on getting a long black wig for her, a white flowy kimono and angel wings. Going for a asian guardian angel theme, where Sofia's job is to guide lost souls to the afterlife and assist dwelling souls in moving on.

 

Hello! Yeah seems like there are just a few of us. I would love to see some pictures of your girl when you get some! I should be sending my boy out for a face up here soon!

She is lovely! My poor boy is still waiting to be sent off for his face up, so here is a picture of him lounging about while I try and decide who to have do his face up.

Yay! Squee what a cutie! Sadly I kind of liked him more, but I decided to get Doll family-A JiFeng instead. They had an event where you get a free 16cm Doll with s purchase of a 1/4. So I got him instead. >.< Im still happy with my choice though.

owners, can you tell me/photograph show the difference between normal yellow and normal pink please? I'm getting the gift head to go on a migidoll m cute body, (ns b) so I think normal yellow will be the best match, but for the full doll I am buying, I am tempted by normal pink, but read somewhere that it is very pink!

also, if you don't mind me asking, are they good posers? do their body sculpts have a good balance?

 

Mack (My Zhao Yu) is in the normal skin yellow. He is the only DF that I own so I have nothing to compare him to. I love how my boy poses he is a great stander and well balanced, he has a good weight to him and I love his simple solid build!

Hey...I am putting an order in for a tanned Zhi Yan...Does anyone have any examples for skin color? any tanned sculpt will do! I am using ganguro and gyaru as ispiration for the look of the character. I'm excited to finally be bringing this girl home.

Also, about posability and the gracefulness of the 43cm girl body...is it a thing? My girl is planned to have a lot of tattooing done...full sleeve, back, side, and chest pieces...possibly legs too...and I just want to access how "pretty" the overall end result will be. The hands seem a bit on the chunkier side, like a Luts Kid delf, from stock images.

Well, I bit the bullet and bought a zhi Yan in normal pink, and got a rong xuan head in normal yellow, which will go on my migidoll body my fried bought a suxun in white with Lyndon head

DM, I can't speak for the default hands, but I do have a pair of jointed doll family hands. The 1/4 size are perfect for my migidoll m cute body, but look stupidly large on my supia Yan. Bear in mind, I bought these ones because they were the most dainty (according to reviews). This may be different considering the body sculpt of zhi Yan, I can't say until I have her

I just got my new dollies!!! They have been on layaway for about 3 months then I had to wait for them to come in. I love them!!! Im so happy with them! My boy is a bit squeaky, I'm not sure if that is normal? NingNing is an awesome event doll, I was so surprised that Doll Family A would have an event where you could get a free doll. She is very kicky-so she will need sueding, but I don't mind. ^.^

I did their face-ups. @.@ phew! I just wanted to get them done ASAP so they wouldn't be sitting around without them. I think they came out pretty nice, I'm happy with it! Please let me know what you think!

DraconicMaiden - if it's still useful to answer your question now! - I have a DF-H Aio and I would say her body is not the most graceful-looking one I own, but I am super happy with her posing (I want to suede her so she can hold positions a bit better, but in terms of getting into position there is not much she can't do!). She is chunkier than many of my other MSD girls, but still pretty too. I think your tattoo plans sound fantastic.

This is my Aio (left) sitting next to a Doll Leaves girl, who is very slim. You can see that Aio is quite a bit chunkier. But she can cross one leg over the other very easily, and do a lot more contorted poses than that as well.
