    1. It would maybe be more work, but I would love to have the ability to pick up my doll Saturday night (if I so desire), but then put it back Sunday morning for display again.

      -Anneke

    2. I was wondering if people would be interested in doing that. Depending on the other attendees' opinions, I'll run it by the rest of the board.

    3. I wouldn't mind re-setting up my costume entry dolls Sunday AM. And I was already planning to give receipts to my customers.

      Thanks for the concern :)

    4. What time will the 'awards' be, and do you need to be present at the time?

I plan on putting my doll up for the costume contest, and then collecting it Saturday night and returning it on Sunday to continue to be displayed. (People always want to re-look over the dolls/winners after they are annouced.) And while I plan to collect my doll on Saturday, and then redisplay on Sunday, I know I'll just get lazy/busy with other stuff and won't.

      -Anneke

    5. vampireanneke -- The awards/closing ceremony will start at 4pm on Sunday, but as long as we have all your information, you do not need to be present to win.

As for collecting and returning your dolls on Saturday and Sunday, we have not determined yet if we will continue to allow them to be displayed on Sunday. I'll keep everyone posted with the board's decision.

    6. On a more positive note today, Liz worked her web magic and posted Dollectable's program schedule on the website: http://bjdcon.com/events.html If none of the prizes and perks have tempted you to prereg, then hopefully this schedule will be too fabulous to resist. We have a wonderful line-up of amazingly talented panelists and fun events, which I have packed into just about every minute of the weekend!:sumomo:

      Dates to remember:
      June 15th -- Preregistration ends!
June 25th -- Convention room rates end at the Holiday Inn
      July 18th-20th -- DOLLECTABLE!!!

Just a little over a month to go! This deserves another Sumomo!:sumomo:

    7. AUGH.

I have a booth to run, you know. You're making it really hard for me to do so! ;)

    8. What a lineup of panels!

Looks like I'm not eating or going to the Vendors Room on Saturday - I'm going to be too busy running from panel room to panel room, and taking notes!

    9. Ouch, those are long vendors hours, in my opinion. For the people who were there last year, were you really busy for 7 hours with panels going on the whole time?

    10. I think in the Vendors Hall last year - the only real "slow" time was around when people left for dinner, other than that there was a nice steady flow all day. -hopes that helps-

    11. Last year, I tried to keep the schedule light thinking that people would want to shop and socialize, but I got complaints that there wasn't enough to do, so this year, since I had so many talented people who wanted to do panels, I decided to just pack in everything. We will have a menu book and volunteer food runners to help out the vendors throughout the day.:)

    12. When will I find time to shop?!?!

    13. The schedule looks great. I have working on my schedule already LOL

BTW, do we need to sign up in advice for the panels, or do we just walk in? Will there be a limit for each panel (since each room has a occupancy limit.... etc)

    14. This may have already been pointed out to you, but it looks like there's an error in the descriptions. You have the same one for Pattern Drafting and Photoshop Techniques.

    15. I want to know, if we are not able to be present at the drawing for the raffle and door prize, will there be some way to pick up the items that we won? (if we win anything)

    16. glydon -- There's always time to shop!:thumbup

anavel -- Good question! The panels in the Workshop are limited to 25, because of the seating with tables. The Photography and Seminar rooms will hold 50. There are a couple of panels in the Workshop that will have 25 kits available -- thus limiting the people who can attend -- that I will list soon. The kits will be for sale in advance at the Info Desk.

vtheyoshi -- Ugh! Thanks so much for noticing that -- I will fix it soon.

kuroda emi -- You do not have to be present to win and as long as you provide enough information on your entry tickets -- real name and badge name -- we will be able to look up your other information and mail your prize to you.:)

    17. thank you Kelly! I really want to be able to be there Sunday also. I just am trying to find out if I can afford the gas or the hotel pay. (not sure what one is better to do)

    18. Gah. The two panels I want to attend the most are at the same time >_< Oh well, I'll just be runing back and forth I suppose, lol~

    19. This is the first big convention I will be attending - I am so excited - and nervous!!! How many of your own dolls do you bring? Do you set them up for display even if they aren't in the costume contest, or do you carry them around with you? (Sorry for the dumb questions!) Also, is it easy to get to the hotel from Union square? This is my first time as an adult in San Franscisco.

    20. :Dthe hotel is technically not far from Union square at all~though you may want to take the Cable Car on California St.and just walk down the hill or grab a bus. The walk isn't far IMO but depending on what street you take it might not be pretty scenery ;) The hotel is close to Downtown, Fisherman's Wharf area, North Beach (eat at Steps of Rome~just sayin'), Chinatown and really is central especially when you consider that all the bus lines you could want to use to get to anywhere farther out are easily reachable from there. You are going to have a great time for sure~

    21. Heee!!! Thank you for your help!! I am so beyond excited about this. I wish I was staying in the hotel with everyone up there, but I have to stay with a friend that I'm traveling with. She's coming up with me, but as she's not a doll collector we'll be going our own ways most of the weekend. So I'll be alone going to Dollectable - but I'm hoping to make lots of friends there!!

    22. It does, thanks for posting :)

Yay, helpers :) I appreciate that.

    23. Isn't Souldoll going to attend to thie Dollectable at all? D: I thought so, because at least they said they would, but Souldoll's name isn't on your vendeur list?

    24. RE: Being a native myself for over 30 years (and counting), I can honestly tell you that the best thing about San Francisco is that there is a bus at almost every corner, so getting around the city is a piece of cake. :) From Union Square, you can take the 38 Geary or 38L Geary bus both bound for 48th Avenue & Point Lobos Avenue. Your destination is Geary and Van Ness. From there, walk four blocks up towards Van Ness and Pine. The Holiday Inn Hotel should be on your right hand side. Hope this helps. :)

    25. justkatie179 - So glad that you can make it! As a couple of people have said, the hotel is centrally located and very easy to get to from Union Square -- I walked from there to the hotel just yesterday in about 15 minutes, but there are loads of buses and a cable car that go right to it.

Pokemon -- No, Souldoll isn't going to be at the con, but we have a Griffi as one of our prizes.

      Thanks, everyone!:)

    26. There is a vendor there who is an American sales person for SoulDoll, so there will be special, limited editions of SoulDolls that the company is making for the vendor to sell.

    27. The LE Souldoll dolls are ravishing, by the way. There's a picture of them somewhere in here...

    28. Thank you everyone for the directions and help!!! I'm getting more excited by the moment!!!! It sounds like San Francisco has an incredible transportation system, this should be great.

    29. Just one more question:

So for workshops with kits, how far in advance will the kits go on sale at the Info Desk. I want to attend the face up workshop by SDink and Lynn; but I will be volunteering on Saturday morning. I just want to be able to manage my time so I can get a spot for the two workshops I really want to attend.

      Thank you

    30. I am in the same situation. My sister is coming with me for the trip, roommates etc. But she will be doing sightseeing while I go to Dollectable. I am glad to find out that the Hotel is not far from Union Square etc. This way she will not be bored.

    31. Anavel- Im gonna be there and looking for some people to hang out with. Hopefully we could meet up.

    32. Neither one of their workshops are going to have kits. The Basic Faceups is going to be in the Main Events Hall, which will hold 200 people, so no worries about getting in there. However, for the Advanced Faceups, you will need to bring your own supplies and head -- it's kind of assumed that you will have these things if you are at an advanced level -- and the room it's in will only hold 25, so you may need to line up.

The hotel is not far from Union Square, Nob Hill, Chinatown, Fisherman's Wharf or Japantown. It's seriously that centrally located.:)

    33. Well, not really alone. ;) My SO (who's going to be one of the live BJD Bishounen) and I are going, and we've already met at a couple of the Las Vegas meetups. My Asmodeus was the one with the horns at Anime Vegas last year.

I suppose the number of dolls you want to bring will depend more on your mode of transportation. We're flying up, and I'm trying to figure out ways to abuse the laws of physics into letting me bring the most amount of dolls possible. ;)

    34. Hoo-ray!!
I'll be bringing one full doll, and one head xD I am skeptic about
what body to get him, so thats why I'm not going to dish out
the money before hand~ But I FINALLY got a job!! So I can pay
      off Dollectable!!

If you still need a ride or a roomie, refer to the Dollectable Rommate/Carpool
      finder in the Meetups forums!

    35. I just wanted to remind everyone that today is the last day to preregister. So, if you want be able to just pick up your beautiful, personalized badge and start having fun, rather than stand in line waiting to pay, GO REGISTER NOW!

Plus, remember, people who preregister get not one, but two chances at winning a fabulous door prize! OH, YEAH!:dance

    36. Thank you for the information.

Yes, I have registered. Hotel and airplane tickets booked. I am all set to go.

(Just need to decide which of my resin boys to bring with me:sweat)

    37. I will be there!
      Yay! :sumomo:

I wont be getting a booth I have too little of things for it.

    38. Loreax -- Dollectable runs on a very tight budget and what little we bring in from things like the Swap Meet really makes a difference in being able to put on a great con for everyone, so we'd really appreciate it if you have some things to sell, you will keep this in mind and get a booth for yourself.:daisy

As for dolly daycare, the con considered offering this, but it is such a huge responsibility, both time-wise and financially, that we think that it would be better if all attendees just keep their own dolls with them at all times. Leaving a doll with a relative stranger, even well-meaning, is not a good idea.

Finally, just to clarify again for everyone, the Friday night cocktail party is full. Food, drink and having to pay for a bartender for the pay-bar is costing us a lot more this year, so, unfortunately, we cannot afford to add anyone else. If you registered before March 1, 2008, you are among the first 100 and definitely on our list for the party, but anyone after that, we hope that you can join us for next year's cocktail party. :)

    39. what if some of the people in the first 100 don't make it for the cocktail party, will you let in some of the other people that registered after march 1st?

    40. Sorry, but we really won't know that until the evening of the party, so we are not going to have a waiting list or a line for people who did not register earlier. The cocktail party is really a thank-you for the people who were willing to take a chance on the con even before any of the exciting guests or programs were announced. We'd also really appreciate it if people who are not among the first 100 do not try to talk their way in on the evening of the party either. We have a small volunteer staff that evening who are going to be very busy and really won't have the time to have to keep explaining that the party is full to a lot of people. Thanks!:)

    41. sorry if I asked too many stupid/rude questions.

    42. loreax -- lilie is right! Your questions weren't stupid or rude at all -- if they were, I would have answered them in a PM. I'm sure that they were questions that a lot of people had and being able to answer them here meant that everyone could get some useful information.:)

    43. An update on the Vendor's Hall for Dollectable -

We have just received word from our contact in Asia that unfortunately
Peakswood will not be at Dollectable. The company's representatives
were not able to get their travel Visas in time. It is quite difficult this
year to get a VISA from S.Korea to travel to the United States.
We're planning on inviting them again next year!

      Alex

    44. Oh, that's too bad! I just bought a Goldie from them, and was looking forward to seeing more of their product. :(

    45. Just a final reminder that the con rates at the hotel end tonight at midnight!

    46. Three weeks exactly people!

I still have so much to do, I'm running around like crazy...

    47. Yeah, I know! I have to go through and figure out what everyone is going to wear and get their wardrobes packed in their travel bag.

It doesn't help that I have a doll coming in soon who may want to go. I think he's up the creek on that.

All the rest of the Crew have to be taken over to my mother's house so she can resin-sit them while we're gone.

    48. How many dolls is it typical to take? I have so many that want to go, and my incoming Tan Goldie is a must.

    49. Why choose, bring them all! Our whole family is comming. We're planning on trucking them around in a red wagon all weekend:) 30 dolls in a wagon...I can't wait for pictures!

    50. Very little planning to do...other than perhaps a little cleanup on the resin. Not sure yet who comes when, but I think for the most part they're all dressed for whatever.

And the joy will be that if needed, I can catch a cable car up to my house, drop some off, and get more :D

    51. I'm bringing five, but they'll all be working. ;)

    52. If we were local, I'd consider it. But we're flying in from DFW, Texas and only a few will fit in the hardcase carry-on I have for them.

    53. Totally hear you on that...If we were driving up there would be no way I'd bring more than a couple.

    54. Of that, I can't wait to take pictures!!

    55. oh i'm so exsited! I cant wait! I'm bring two of my resin boy's with me!

    56. Breaking News - Look whos coming to Dollectable from Iplehouse!

These two lovely girls will be part of the raffle or door prize selection!

    57. Oh, I'm in love with Tania!! :)

    58. Wow those are gorgeous.
