and iam staing longer so ill not need to rush at 3 to go to the bus so yeah

i start doll like 2 year ago ( puki puki but now i prefer zuzu delf a lot more my style and that too cute doll i won at otakuthon from litle monica shes really cute and free won her so fun )

I sort of peeked in on DN last year when I was there for my first year of AN (before I was really in the hobby, had no dolls then). It will be so awesome to experience the whole thing this year, and to be part of it! So much still to do before then, haha, but I can't wait. c: Bring on the dollies!

How's everyone doing?? Less than a week to DN, it's crunch time!!!!
I'm finishing some work on contest entries and I have a little hand sewing to do for stock but mostly it's just packing on Thursday that I have to sort out, phew!

Remember some self-care! Don't run yourselves into the ground before you get to the convention, hehehe.
I can't wait to see everyone!

 

I've finished all my contest prep except a backdrop for my Masquerade entry, which I hope I'll have time to finish ^__^; Still got a bit to do for my art that's gonna be at Gallery Momiji this year, but I think the doll stuff is pretty much set.

I think I'll only have space for one doll this year, plus a floating bust piece for maybe checking some head-neck compatibility for a future hybrid, but I look forwards to seeing everyone else's

 

This will be my first year bringing my dolls to doll north! I am excited! Hopefully I meet some people that are also into this hobby, I am still very new to this. I will most likely be bringing 3 dolls with me.

 

Hearing who everyone is bringing makes me wonder if I should re-think my desire to be doll-less at the con this year. I've been going to Doll North since the beginning, and it will be my first year not bringing anyone. I'm going to miss having someone resin with me, but I will be there! I'll be helping at the doll care table on Sunday, so come and say hi!

 

Well, it has been a right crunch of one thing going wrong after another for us but it looks like our last box of stock might actually arrive today. Hopefully it will not be like the denim we have been waiting on and sit in a post office right in the city for three days. It's made it pretty difficult for feral5 to finish the jeans for our table given our current lack of denim.

Despite the stress, and the fact that we may very well be holed up in our hotel room still working for most of Friday, we are so excited to see everyone and participate in the convention this year. With everything that's been going on in our lives lately a weekend of resin and friends (old and new) is more than welcome in our books.

 

I shall be attending and selling a whole lot of MNF/MSD stuff at my table on Saturday (including two MNF actually). Basically clearing out my entire doll collection. ;_;
Save for my face-up-less LTF Elf El (minus the ears because he's sloooowly being modded (anyone know how to make a doll permanently blue that isn't dying or spray paint?)), whom I shall be toting about with me for the meet-up anyway.

I'll also be participating in the Nominoichi on Friday. Come to my table to say high and buy some Doujin!

I still haven't decided which dolls to bring Sunday either haha, almost makes me wish I had fewer to choose from. I try to bring a few different sizes for shopping purposes. I guess I should start lacing up my bf's Choa's knee-high boots...see you guys in a few days!

 

I am so excited to meet everyone this year! I plan on being a lot more social this time around. XD I won't be bringing any dolls with me, but I hope to buy a new Dollie while I'm there. Even if I don't I will be at the meetup! See you all soon!

I probably should be sleeping cause I have to catch a flight in a couple hours, (I'm coming from Newfoundland!) but I'm just to wound up and nervous that I'm forgetting something! I am not bringing my old doll Isao Nanjou, he is 10 years old and happily retired. I brought him to Anime North years ago dressed as Rurouni Kenshin. This year, I bring a new doll - Ryoma Sakamoto. We will be there on Saturday. See you all.....

I am unsure if I will be back next year, time will tell, but either way I hope its spectacular!

I was there on Saturday morning - noon. I met very nice people, love the photo booths, market place and Project Runway (I hope I got the event name correct). Is there a photo thread somewhere for Doll North?

I was unable to get from the Toronto Congress Center to Crown Plaza Hotel in the morning. I tried walking in high heel shoes but gave up half way, it was too far away. I waited for the internal shuttle under the hot sun for half an hour to find out from the bus drivers that buses do not go to the Crown Plaza, they go to the Sheraton and International Hotels, not Crown Plaza. Then, I was told I have to walk from the Sheraton to Crown Plaza. I was very angry and took a taxi from International Hotel to the Crown Plaza. I did not stay very long at Doll North, I spent most of my time at the TCC. I fell sick on Saturday night with fever because of the heat, weight of carrying a SD17 doll and walking all day on high heel shoes. Doll North should be in the same location as Anime North. It used to be in the hotel opposite the TCC.

 

Was so lovely meeting everyone this past weekend! My sisters and I really enjoyed ourselves even though it was so busy and a little hectic ahha. Our faceup panel went really well, I hope that those who attended were able to take away at least one thing from it.
I would have liked to have spent more time just chatting with some of you, but running from panel to panel didn't leave much room for it :''(
I would love to attend next year and I'm already looking forward to it, hope everyone enjoyed themselves! And congrats to all those who won something

 

Yes, thank you to everyone who attended our face-up workshop! You all were so wonderful and receptive, and you really made the whole experience super comfortable and enjoyable. Wow wow wow echoing all these feelings. Doll North was amazing and so much fun this year. I had such a good time meeting and talking to everyone, really looking forward to coming together again and doing it all again next year.

 

I was there on sunday, there weren't much to buy at the doll market, I was a little disappointed about that. Maybe because everything was sold on saturday I am not sure. I really liked the Kinton Ramen photo booth thing that someone made! I wish I was able to meet some people that were into resin dolls, most people I met there were into dollfie dreams. I hope to meet new people from the doll community!

 

cinnayum, I think the majority of Sunday's sellers were on their second day and if they were anything like us (which I know at least a couple were) they did the bulk of their selling on Saturday and didn't have as much stock left. As for meeting resin collectors, I think you must have just had "poor" luck as it were... not that it's all that poor since the few Toronto DD people I know are crazy rad. But Sunday was the meet-up, so there was no shortage of resin collectors at all. In fact, I know at one point I couldn't have been more than about five feet from you because I remember seeing your Creamy Mami and Liesolette at the Kinton Ramen set. Hopefully next year you'll be able to come down for the first day of market and have better luck in your shopping and meeting other resin collectors.

 

I had an amazing time on Saturday. The market was a crazy awesome place (got my Peakswood Cheshire goon from bird and lace, as well as a bunch of other neat clothes and tiny shoes). Project Runway was a ton of fun, a neat challenge and some amazing results!

I'm hoping I make it next year! I, sad I missed Sunday because it sounds like there were a lot of neat people and dolls there!

 

Whoosh! And just like that, Doll North 2014 has come and gone. It never fails to exceed expectations!

Sorry to hear that some people missed out on the most crazy bits; saturday is usually the day that all things disappear quickly. This was certainly the case for us!

Thank you to everyone who dropped by SADOL to support us and say hi! We had a blast and it was really awesome seeing some familiar faces and making new forever friends ! We hope that everyone had fun too~ Unfortunately I was mostly stuck behind a table so I missed out on the panels, but it looks like there was superb work for the contests all around!

And thank you to all those that offered feedback for us; it is invaluable and we endeavour to be better prepared for the future.

The Sadol girl that was adopted. She's very beautiful in real life. I should have taken more photos of her close up. She's her owner's first doll. It's her debut. I don't know her sculpt name.

I completely understand your pain regarding the difficult walk (for some) between the TCC/International Plaza and the Crowne Plaza hotel. We have brought up the need for the shuttle bus circuit to include the Crowne Plaza at our general meetings, but the rest of Anime North has not yet seen the merit.

It would be very helpful if those of you that find the walk from the TCC/ Intl Plaza difficult and would like to see the con provided shuttle expanded to include the Crowne Plaza would send your concern to Anime North general inquiries: http://www.animenorth.com/live/inde...=3:donald-simmons&catid=12:contacts&Itemid=63

If the convention receives enough requests to that inbox it is more likely they will consider expanding the route to include the Crowne Plaza which is something I would love to see available to our attendees. Thank you to those of you that send in a request

I'm regretting not making a few purchases from Doll North, lol. Does anyone know who it was that was selling those adorable SD and MSD crowns? I believe they were made out of metal. Saw them on Saturday at one of the tables closest to the door in the doll market.

My friends and I just registered for ANime Detour. Its about the only anime convention in our area that we can drive too. Is anyone else going to it? IT sin Minneapolis in MArch
