Doll North @ Anime North 2014 Toronto, Canada

Mar 21, 2014

    1. Ok... I have a question for those who have been to DollNorth before... Would I be able to buy Soft Silicone Joint Cushions there? Or would I be better off getting them from MoC? An what size would I need for a 1/4 female doll?

    2. Hey Sirius53Black! I'm glad you're coming! I hope we will get a chance to meet. :)

As for flying, I'm not worried about how to fly with dolls, but whether or not I'd be allowed to bring my big guy on board as carry-on. He's SD+ so he doesn't actually fit into the approved size of carry-on luggage. I've flown with smaller dolls on a number of occasions with no worries. Anyway, the travelling-with-huge-doll issue has been sorted. :)

    3. SapphireStargazer- Same here! I guess I'll have to eventually call Porter and find out, but I'm still nervous about it and may just put my 2 SD's sitting upright in a suitcase...

I'm really excited to meet everyone and see some old friends as well!

    4. belladonna, I must say WestJet was really nice about it when I phoned them, and I can't imagine Porter would have any more of a problem with it than WestJet did. If I really wanted to bring Gabriel, I had to phone WestJet and ask, because he really didn't fit in my suitcase even when I curled him up. I would've had to unstring him. :doh But all's well that ends well.

    5. I think I'm going to bring 2 dolls tops and squeeze them in a small carry-on suitcase. I don't care if their legs and arms are popping out of all corners, they're coming on the plane with me! lol

Feeling the pressure now that April is almost at an end. Gotta get my paints and supplies all sorted, get my dolls ready and put my creative cap on. xD

    6. Does Anybody Know?

    7. SapphireStargazer- Wow! Okay, thanks for letting me know. I guess it's a good thing we're not traveling out of the country, I'm sure that would have been a different story. I may just go ahead and give them a call tonight to put my mind at ease. Gabriel must be very large indeed!
Coming down to crunch time, gotta get my stuff all sorted out!

LadyD- Sorry! I can't help you out with that :( It will be my first time there as well

    8. At least you answered me Belladonna ^.^ thank you, and is it your first time at Anime North or just at Dollnorth?

    9. LadyD- Aw, It's no problem. Yes! It will be my first time at Anime North and only my second time in Toronto :) I'm really excited

    10. I don't remember seeing silicone joint cushions in the dealer's area last year, but I might have just missed them and that could change this year. Some of the buying area is a yardsale-type deal, where doll owners can buy a table for a part of the weekend and sell off all their extra doll stuff, so you never know just exactly what you might find. If you're able to hold off on ordering from MoC until after DN, you might get lucky at the con and find what you need :) I know I found the stuff I was after last year, and I'm saving up for this year in anticipation of more awesome finds ;)

I've never used silicone joint cushions before, so I don't think I can help with sizing ^__^; Luts has this guide that I found for their discs and dolls, but IDK how that'd compare to your doll.

    11. @Belladonna It will be my 13th year at Anime North and my first year at Doll North, ^.^ well have to meet up and I'll show you around, itzreeseybetch will be coming up from Detroit to stay with me, it will be her first time at AN and second time in Toronto as well :)

      Thank you Myracuulous ^.^

    12. LadyD- Oh wow!! That's awesome! I have no idea what to expect, I'm sure it's much bigger than Otakuthon, our Anime Convention here in Montreal ahah. Thank you! That sounds perfect, I wont know many people there aside from Sabrina who's been kind enough to invite my sisters and I this year for a panel :) I can't wait to meet you guys!

    13. I am so sorry I completely missed this question and I actually could have answered! @__@ Doll NorthLad has a yearly doll care station where you can take your dolls for re-stringing, hot glue sueding, new lashes, etc. Last year they were giving away little kits from Dollmore that included string and I believe lashes. There are also kips that I believe are for purchase, hopefully a staff member can confirm or correct that for me.

Edit: Alright, looks like all doll care items are actually free this year. Doll care will be Sunday during the meet-up, but if you aren't able to make the meet on Sunday talk to someone at the greeting table and they may be able to help you out. :)

Anime North is definitely a big convention, no idea how it compares to Otakuthon or other Montreal events. Doll North last year was pretty awesome, and since the market is only running Saturday/Sunday this year T and I can take you guys around to the artist alley and some events and maybe grab dinner with you guys Friday night if you'd like. Meet a bunch of new people, have some fun. :B

    14. ^____^ Alright! So who will be there on Thursday, me and my group (family/friends) will be at the holiday inn east around 3pm... Or sooner XD and I will be going to the international plaza (double tree for those who know) for the Thursday night check in to get my group passes... I'll bring Itzreesybetch and our dolls... And wait off to the side after getting tickets... COME SAY HELLO! ^.^

    15. It was worth the call to WestJet for me, that's for sure. And yes, Gabriel is a big boy. He's 72cm (without his hair) and he's by no means skinny either. He's around the same size as an Iplehouse EID. lol he does fit in my carry-on luggage, but there wouldn't be adequate space to wrap anything around him for padding, so I'm glad I can use his carrier. Besides, travelling in my carry-on luggage didn't seem to be his idea of a good time.

    16. You are correct Sleep_Pattern last year our Doll Care area provided a variety of small services and items for free to our Doll North attendees and we do intend to continue that tradition this year thanks to the kind contributions of Dollmore. We will be offering Doll Care service during our Annual Doll Gathering on Sunday May 25 2014.

I'm looking forward to seeing everybody this year, its certainly coming closer and I hope attendees are following our Facebook Page or Tumblr for updates! We have some exciting news about our photography area (some teaser photos are up) so stay tuned for more updates on that; I really think fans will enjoy what has been produced this year by a very talented creative team.

Also our Facebook page has a new weekly cover photo's featuring photos of dolls submitted by our fans! If your interested in having your photo possibly featured be sure to submit it to [email protected]

    17. I'm sure we will at some point! ^_^ I'm getting both excited and nervous as the days tick closer. Have so much to do still and don't have a ton of time to get it done. I'm such a procrastinator...it's awful. :P

    18. sleep_pattern- Sounds like a plan! The more I think about it the more excited I get xD I'll FB you soon with cell numbers and such.

SapphireStargazer- That picture is amazing! LOL! It looks like Gabriel is waving bye like, "I'm off to find a new owner that won't shove me in a suitcase, peace out" LOL

    19. Sirius53Black, I know what you mean! I have the Moncton Doll Show to get ready for before DollNorth... *flails*

Belladonna - glad you the photo! He was telling me that if he can't go in his carrier then he'd rather not go. Suitcase? So beneath his dignity. :XD:

    20. Will anyone be there the Thursday before the con?

    21. My flight gets in on Thursday evening, but I suspect I'll be heading to my hotel to crash, after a long day at work and then a flight.

    22. We're not getting in till super early Friday morning. Unfortunately my work has block out during Anime North so I can't technically take any time off. I always get them to put my days off together from two weeks so I'll get four days off in a row. I fly out Friday and fly back Monday. :P

There's a few items on my 'must have' doll list that I'm going to be searching for but I'm just super excited to hang with other doll people. There are only two of us here in my home town and I think about seven of us in our whole province. It makes for limited dolly time. >_>

    23. Ahh I don't know how I'm ever going to sleep on the Thursday before Anime North/Doll North ;3;
I'm sorry I'm not super active on DoA but I'd still love to meet you all in person~ new dollie friends is one of my main goals this year.
I'm curious who is everyone bringing this year? :D

I'm also curious how people can handle two or more dolls at once at a convention? I tried carrying two msd's around like two years ago and it was stressful. I kept thinking I was going to drop one and my arms got tired and I wasn't sure how confident I was in my hotel to leave them alone in the room.

    24. Not us unfortunately. We won't be in until Friday and then we're out gain on Sunday. Hotel's are expensive :( Luckily while we're not suuuuper close, we're close enough that traveling in on the day of isn't a huge ordeal.

Ahhhhh I only just noticed this comment when I was reading back. You are SO sweet. I actually really wanted to enter this year and then spent so long debating on a Pokemon that I completely missed the deadline. I was super bummed since this is the first year I could have entered. :<

I'm really excited too! It's going to be an awesome year. I'm really looking forward to seeing everyone and being able to take part in some of the games and stuff this year. It'll be awesome.

We brought five dolls last year! XD four of them were just little guys though. We kind of just swapped them around in our hotel room. Our roommates were friends and also doll people so we didn't worry about leaving the dolls with them, and really most hotel room staff have no idea what they're worth and more interest in keeping their job. So they should pretty safe in your room as long as you're not sharing it/sharing it with people you trust.

    25. I am really looking forward to this year! :aheartbea

It's going to be such a great chance to meet with lots of friends, both new and old.

I won't say it's not a challenge to get all our dolls ready and looking their best, but it's more then worth it!

So many people look to be flying in this year *0* I look forward to meeting everyone!

    26. I will be attending doll north/anime north for the first time this year and I am so excited! I can't wait to see everyone there :)

    27. First time for me too. :) Getting more anxious as the days wind down. I'm thinking of only bringing one boy just to spare myself the hassle, haha.

I don't know anything about pokemon sadly but I'm still really interested to see what people came up with for the face-up theme.

    28. @feral5 I'm SOOOO SOSOSOSOSO EXCITED that you guys will be vending! It's great to have a local doll dealership in town, FINALLY. <3

Ugh how is it already May I am entirely unprepared for the con. >___<

    29. @Laelen: We are pretty excited! I hope everyone can come by the table to say hello! ;o; We will be shackled there most likely for most of the weekend so you lovelies might have to come to us ;)

    30. Hi guys, just popping in to say I'll be at anime north all weekend. Will most likely be bringing one of my dolls with me.

I went last year to doll north on the Sunday. Dunno if anyone here saw me, but I was the random Alibaba cosplayer (from Magi: Labyrinth of Magic) that was asked to sit and man the front desk out of random while there was a raffle or a prize giving or something going on?
This year I will be cosplaying as Anna from frozen. Might do plainclothes on the sunday.

Anyways, I'll be bringing one of my SD boys with me. Everyone was so nice last year, so I'm excited for this year~

    31. Popping in to say I'll be around too! Not my first time at AN but it is my first time bringing a doll (got him in January of this year). Hope I can make it out to doll north and meet some of you lovely people!

    32. EE! :D Can't wait to see what you guys have for sale! ^^

Congrats on the new doll! :D Looks like we live pretty close to each other. ^^

I'll be there on Sunday, hope to see you there!

      ---

I'm getting very anxious/excited for AN this year, going to try to be more outgoing and meet people this time. >3<

    33. I am suddenly able to attend attend Anime North as I need to be in Toronto for some personal business during this time. The last time I visited Anime North was 2008-2009. I used to attend regularly when I lived and work in Canada. I don't think anybody remembers me. I am the lady with Isao Nanjou V1 dressed as Rurouni Kenshin. If you don't remember me, you might remember my doll. :) Over the years, I have not been able to attend Anime North because of work schedule conflicts and sometimes budget constraints. I am truly shocked that I can attend this year's con. :o

I am very confused over the ticketing. Am I allowed to pre-register for 1 day entrance on Saturday? The website says that I have to stand in line on Sat morning and may not be allowed in if the attendance cap is reached. However, when I checked Eventbrite, I can still register for the 1 day entrance on Saturday. Do I really need to register for Anime North to get into Doll North? Of course, I would love to attend Anime North itself but it sounds like the con has grown so much that they have put a cap on entrance.

    34. Hi @stargazer_i

I'm so glad to hear you can join us again after your long time away, I think Doll North will surprise you with how much we have grown since your last visit :)

If you are ready to purchase your single day admission you can do so at the following website: https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/anime-north-2014-tickets-9976374605

As mentioned we are capped so at this point only single day admissions are available. Once you have completed online registration you should receive instructions on how to pick up your badge at the con. There is normally a pre-registration line up at the Toronto Congress Centre where you will be able to pick up your badge. Once you have your badge you will be able to access all events in the TCC, International Plaza Hotel, Sheraton Hotel, and Crowne Plaza Hotel. All Doll North events are held at the Crowne Plaza hotel, and we have the whole venue space to ourselves for Doll North.

I hope this is helpful. If you have any other concerns please feel free to get in touch with us any time at [email protected]

    35. If you keep an eye on the site (birdandlace.com) between now and the convention we'll be posting some of the things we'll be bringing along to the convention with us. :) While people won't be able to reserve things as it will all be first come first serve like any other table, we thought it might help out those really interested in something they're carrying so they know to hustle over to our table before it's gone since it's our first year and our stock will be fairly limited (not really duplicates of anything we're bringing with the exception of feral5's original creations).

As SaturnRose mentioned the con has gotten so big, so if you went to Doll North the last year you attended, you will definitely find this year very different. It's gotten bigger and is so many more contests and events now. :D You should definitely still be able to get one day passes online, as I know a friend of mine coming in from out of province just snagged herself a Saturday pass last night.

We're going nuts over here with work, but we're super excited to see everyone and meet (hopefully!) a lot of you. I am dreading the Sadol table myself. D8 Their newer stuff has just been killing me with clothing want.

    36. We just got our passes online for Sunday so we'll head over to the DollNorth hotel after checking out the basics. I make hado bring his doll (a CH Choa) and she requires my CH Sia for company so I'll probably bring a couple tinies and a Blythe. Last year I just brought the one SD because I forgot we'd be parking at the hotel so I didn't need to carry them far, haha.

    37. Thank you SaturnRose and sleep_pattern. I'd definitely snap up a single day pass asap. This is last minute and sudden. It had always been difficult to get into Anime North, collecting the badge being the main challenge. The line is forever long *_*. I don't participate in competitions and events but I enjoy relaxing, hanging around and admiring everybody's dolls. This year, I will at least try to wear a kimono, a wig and some makeup so I don't look old. I might wear a mask to hide my age! :sweat. I usually don't bother to dress! *_* I am now based in the USA, no longer in Canada although my family lives in Toronto. I really look forward to this.

      SaturnRose:
I'm glad Doll North now has a big space. It used to be just one small room! It's really good that Sadol will be there. My doll and I look forward to visiting their booth. :|

    38. Ahhh Blythe! :D Yes yes, please do bring a Blythe. As much as I love me some BJDs it's a lot of fun to see other dolls as the convention as well!

Oh hush, you don't need to worry about your age for a second. There's always people of all ages at DN. I remember last year we had little kids all the way to grandmothers. Just come and have fun and dress up if you like, but you definitely don't have to worry about feeling too old.

    39. How many dolls does everyone plan on bringing?

Mystck- I think I only plan on bringing one SD13 (Taboo, my Migi Ryu) or maybe one SD13 and one SD10? I don't know if ill be able to handle two dolls at such a large convention and on the flight :/

    40. I feel weird saying I'm bringing like 10 or so but then I'm like.... oh yeah, table. :B We'll have two of our Yos, (White Rabbit and Chinatsu) a teenigem Bygg, Unoa Lusis, MNF Chloe, DWC02 girl, SD13 Irvin, SD16 Olivia, EID Evan and my DDH-07 is tagging along because I promised Elzamine I would bring my DD, plus she's super light anyway. It's going to be ridiculous figuring out how to pack them all, especially since I only own one doll carrier, and it sure isn't big enough for my Evan.

Belladonna - Soraaaaa ;3; He can always come hang out at our table if your arms get tired carrying him ;D

    41. sleep_pattern- Ohhhh yayyyy I can't wait to see your babies :D This is so exciting. I'm still debating, I would love to bring Sora, maybe ill just end up bringing more than I thought hahah

    42. As of right now, my plan is to bring two, although in the end I may only bring one.

    43. I feel like this will be the first time I see so many of your dolls at once! Exciting~

I admit I am likely limiting myself to just having one or two of my teenie gems with me since I'll be running around the event helping out with stuff :3 but it will be so nice to see everyone else and their dolls~

    44. I'll be there all weekend too - and now that crunch time is upon us, I'm getting more and more excited for the con! The only downside is that I still have SO MUCH left to do before then. >_<

I can't wait to see your crew sleep_pattern! I feel like I've never really seen many of your dolls, and it'll be great to have so many in a big group together!

I'll be bringing quite a few of my dolls to con this year as well, but luckily I won't have to carry them around because, like you, they'll all be at my table modelling. :P I'll most likely have my Lati on me at all times though, because shes teensy and light to carry around. :D

    45. This is the way of traveling with dolls. Though I will say, personal bias toward Migi also makes me excited to see Taboo. He must definitely come visit our table, oh! And Steampetal! I think he should definitely visit that table though I just can't recall why... >__>

I don't think anyone has ever seen this many of our dolls all together in years, even us! XD Feral5 and I were actually marvelling over them today when I put them all up on the shelf because we couldn't remember the last time so many of them were so together/finished looking.

It's true! I don't think any of you guys have seen most of our dolls in person, especially the big guys! But you did remind me of one more! Thankfully Tea is super tiny so she can tuck into a pocket and come visit Daisy for the weekend. :D

    46. ill be there too <3
ill be bringning my yosd cause shes really cute and all <3 and might try to buy her better shoes you know hehe!!!
and maybe my zuzu delf for the maskerade if only if i can enter her ^^::
never enter the competition before so kinda unknow there ^^
seem hard lol!! but if space ill gladly try it ^^

i cannot wait to se the prize event dough yet iam was not that very lucky hehehe!!!
and see other dolls is kinda fun
wsh the doll make up was on friday or sunday hehe o well
ill go at the other activity on sunday i guess ( and do my table and activities too @_@ run around lol
but cannot do both i wish hehe!!

      well see u there<3 maybe
      trixy

      ___________________________________________________________
hope ts ok to say i has sign up for garage sell ????
and i just register for the yard sale on sunday <3 <3 <3 yeahhh!!!
so come and see my lil half table hehe<3
(hint: puki puki and huggoo cat dark grey)
      ill event accept trade ^^
      -------------------------------------------------------------------

    47. SapphireStargazer- I think I may end up doing the same thing! Though I am leaning towards 2 at the moment.
sleep_pattern- :D Thank you! I can't wait until he can meet you guys too, don't worry, we'll definitely be visiting your table! I was speaking with Steampetal as well, I'm really excited to see her stuff, I'm a big fan of her etsy shop :)

    48. I'm getting excited!! :D
I will have my Svara on Saturday, dressed up as my fairy Eos which will be coordinated with my costume since I'll be dressed as a Scholar from Final Fantasy XIV. It was a last minute costume since I was not really planning to make a new one this year. But since I noticed she's proportionally the right size to be a fairy...well why not?! I don't have the proper coloured wig for her but hopefully I can find one there :D

Sunday will be with my guy Wade for the masquerade :D His costume is almost done, just gotta do his documentation and take a few shots for it as well.

With all those vendors and sponsors... beware my wallet~!!

    49. Woooooow! I fell behind on watching this thread. I've been swamped sewing up a storm for this con so I'm a little behind on things! I can't wait to see everyone though! It looks like there is going to be a lot of new people, too.

I went to Doll North back in.. 2009/2010 I think, but missed a couple years until I returned last year. There's so much that goes on now and it's grown a lot. I really can't wait to return this year to talk to everyone :D

Yes! I'm flying in from New Brunswick, a couple friends are coming with me as well. There are some other local owners that are attending Anime North as well, I don't know how often then tend to be around Doll North but I imagine they'll pop in :)
Speaking of flying with dolls. I've always brought my dolls on the plane without any issues. In the past I used to squish them into a smaller carry on, but last year I brought a long SD carrier, not even thinking about the issue, and had no problems. Fingers crossed I'm just as lucky this year, but I do intend to bring a backup bag incase.

I wasn't able to make it to the Moncton Doll Show last weekend, but I think you may have been talking to my friend who's attended and will be at DN with me!

Oooh! If there's stuff going on Friday, let me know! My group is flying in Friday morning and will be in for the afternoon. We've got to head over and pickup our passes for the weekend and what not, but we haven't set plans either way. I'm sure we'll be open to meeting up at some point (or at least I will be!)

Ooooh! I'm so excited to meet you and your sisters, I've been a fan since I entered the hobby, haha ^^

Ooooh guys, reading through this thread has made me even more excited than I was, holy wow! Can't wait to see my friends and meet some new people, what a jam packed weekend! It's a quick trip for me, fly in Friday and fly out Sunday, but I'm going to try and squish as much in there as I can.

sleep_pattern and feral5 insisted that I bring my Okita, Valon, so that's made deciding who's coming a little easier haha. My feeple60 chloe, Yue, is coming as well. I'm trying to jam in my msd soom tuff, Tavin, and my zuzu lio, Zwei, too. I wouldn't bring more than one usually, but having a table leaves me a place to stash them haha.

See everyone soon! Back to sewing for me, hahaa ^^

    50. Belladonna: Sleep_Pattern and I are so so excited to see you guys and we should definitely hang for shenanigan times sometime this weekend! We were reminiscing about our trip down to your neck of the woods and even found old pictures of the crew back then from the meet! Now it's our turn to be just as sweet and hospitable as you all were with us all that time back when. ;D
Elzaim: Eee I look forward to seeing your crew all set out on display! I don't think I've seen many of your dolls all in one place! <3
Elzamine: We will definitely let you know when plans firm up! Either way I think we are going to be seeing a ton of each other this weekend. ;) Wouldn't have it any other way of course! :aheartbea

    51. Elzamine; Aww!! I'm excited to meet you too! That really means a lot, we're really looking forward to meeting everyone and having some epic doll times :D
feral5; Oh God yes! I can't wait to see you guys. I'm really looking forward to this trip like crazy haha. I'll never forget that time you guys came down to see us! Those were definitely fun times, although way too long ago :) I know my crew has almost completely changed since then lol

So I called Porter airlines yesterday and asked about bringing a 65cm doll carrier on board and the woman flat out said no. She kept repeating 'If it cannot fit in the overhead compartment then you can't bring it aboard.' She said the limit was 55cm. I asked what they did for instruments and things like that and explained that it was fragile, all she said was she couldn't help me :/ I'm really disappointed and upset about this, now ill have to shove my dolls in a small carry-on.

    52. feral5: Glad to hear it! I was so shy last yr I just disappeared to my room once con stuff was over. BUT NOT THIS YEAR! Alllll the hang outs with you lovely people ^^

Belladonna: Oh wow, that's such terrible news. I wonder why they're so unwilling to bend on that, yikes. It's always the airline stuff that limits what dolls you can fly with :( Hopefully you can tangle them all together and bring who you want though. Doll packing is an art, I swear!

    53. I traveled with my doll on Porter Airlines from Toronto to Newark (US). No problem if the plane is not full and the doll can fit into the overhead compartment. But if the overhead compartment is full, you have to squash the carrier bag under the seat at landing and take off. Take out the doll/s during flight. Some "squashing" will happen even in the overhead compartments.

This is a very serious problem...last year I attended IDEX in Florida, I bought a doll. I opted to ship the box via UPS. If I had carried the box with me, I would have been forced to throw away the box at check-in because the flight back to Philadelphia was full and the box cannot fit into the overhead compartment. I cannot squash a box under the seat. Well meaning doll friends had earlier advised me to carry the box by hand on the flight instead of spending extra money shipping. But, thankfully I decided to ship. I took the doll out, shipped the empty box. I hand carried the doll in the carrier bag and squashed the soft bag under the seat at landing and take-off. That was a close call! When I look at Reisner's box, I remember, it could have been lost. I hugged the box really hard when UPS delivered it! Be very careful......take no risks. :|

    54. Elzamine- I know, I couldn't believe that they would be so strict, because I was previously told how they usually make exceptions for things like this. Fortunately, I was speaking with one of the very lovely organizers of Doll North and she advised me it would be best to just sit them in a smaller suitcase with pillows and bring the carrier in my larger checked baggage. I think this would be the best option at this point since ill be bringing 2 SD13 sized boys with me. It IS an art! Hahaha

stargazer_i Thanks for letting me know :) I would do this if I was only bringing one, but I plan on bringing 2 SD13 sized boys, so it may become quite a handful if I tried holding them both during the flight. I decided on just bringing them in a smaller suitcase and packing my carrying case in my checked baggage. I never thought about what might happen if someone were to buy a doll there! That's crazy! It's a good thing you chose to have your Reisner's box shipped *__* I can't imagine having to leave that behind or watching it get crushed... especially with such a rare and expensive Volks doll.
I don't plan on buying any dolls while I'm at the Con, but you never know what can happen loll. Good to know! :)

    55. I've never had any experience flying with dolls thankfully. I remember when feral5 and I came back from New York Dolpa though. We literally had to squish ALL our clothing and things into her suitcase and pack mine full with our new SD, and the mountain of clothes and things that came back with us. >__> Glad you figured out a way to bring your boys with you belladonna. Got to love these guys, but they do make it a pain to travel sometimes. XD

    56. Belladonna Take no risk. The plane from Montreal to Toronto may be small plane. Everybody try to hand carry luggage because it costs money to check in luggage.

I'm set to attend Anime North this year. I am more worried about my own dressing than my doll's. I would like to dress, I always go in casual clothes, I should at least try to wear something nice this year. :|

    57. sleep_pattern- That's crazy! But at least you were able to fit everything in your suitcases, what did you end up doing with the box(es)? Hopefully I don't buy a crazy amount of things at the con, I always tell myself ill pack light but then end up bringing the entire apartment lol.

stargazer_i- That's very true, plus, I heard Porter uses smaller planes, so I really doubt I'll be able to get away with bringing a doll carrier on board. I'd much rather not take the risk and have them compact in a small suitcase.
I totally know what you mean! I'm going through the same dilemma loll. I already know for the most part what my boys will wear, but for some reason I'm thinking way too much about what clothes I should bring for myself haha. I do also plan on cosplaying for a portion of one of the days with my sisters though. We're bringing our My Little Pony cosplays :)

    58. Oh she was in the box 8D It was an SD10 girl in her box, a chair, 2 Puredrop outfits, 5 kimonos (YoSD, SD13G, SD13B, SD16G and SD17B) a YoSD loli dress, 2 SD13B casual sets and like... a pile of little odds and ends like wigs, brushes, shoes, etc. Thankfully the Irvin and YoSD Four Sisters we got we only won there and they shipped later. Otherwise we'd have been in a world of hurt for packing. XD

As for packing I'm already crying over the sheer amount of doll things we need to fit into one car, and am possibly cutting our Evan out of the packing list because I'm not really sure if many people there will have EIDs/be interested in buying EID sized shirts. Plus he takes up the most room. *_* I haven't even put much thought into my own packing yet because I think it will just overwhelm me :doh

    59. I will be going this year, in a matching outfit with my minifee ante ^^ This is my first year going to dollnorth, even anime north lolz, I will be going the saturday ^^ Can't wait to see all the dolls and people <3

    60. sleep_pattern- I can't imagine how you must have packed all that in a suitcase!! It must have been like doll Tetris loll.
I know what you mean, I'm sure you guys have a ton of stuff you have to pack, but at least you don't have to fly, I can't imagine what that would be like with all that stuff, LOL. Thankfully, I'm only bringing two 60cm + boys with me. I'm very excited, if I finish painting my new Amelia boy in time, I'll bring him along on someones body :D

Caitiperry- I can't wait to see your outfits! What will you be dressing as? It will be my first year at Anime North as well as Doll North :)
