    2. @AgentPanda: Ohh they might have been my friends! I haven't been in the artist alley or crafters corner for probably 3 years since I had other commitments throughout the weekend or wasn't there at all...:o However, this have worked out this year but I'll be running around like a crazy headless chicken since I'm also volunteering at the maid cafe....so if you do drop by, I recommend Friday or Sunday! 6. Updates have been made to the list of Doll Marketplace Vendors.
I am pleased to announce that one of our feature sponsors 'Luxour Academy' will be joining us for Doll Marketplace.

    8. The badges are 40 .00 a person. Yikes, what if I can only stay for an hour? Plus I have my daughter with me.

      Oh darn:(

    9. Hi Kimber,

I'm sorry to hear that the price is outside of your range at this time, Doll North is just a small part of the overall Anime North convention, many of those who are coming out this year will be participating in other aspects of the con such as cosplay, masquerade, meeting voice actors, and enjoying the dealer's room.

There are many meetups held throughout the year on the GTA Dolls forum (gtadolls.ca), and HOSL (http://umbrasilumina.com/mybb/index.php) that are completely free and may be best if you would like to avoid purchasing a ticket for a big con.

At this time Anime North does not offer specialized badges for those who wish to only participate in one aspect of the con, but I will bring your concerns to staff for discussion when planning our con in the future.

    10. Hey, quick question, for the gift exchange, could we put a couple little things in a gift? Like more than one thing?

    11. Hi Moira,

You could definitely go ahead and include additional items for up to the $10 value, handmade and good condition second hand items are welcome too :)

    12. I have returned from my second Doll North, however, this is the first Doll North in which I had my own doll. The previous year I believe I had walked into Doll Marketplace and chatted up a few of the vendors.

I have to say I was intimidated at first, and felt a little awkward around some of the other doll owners. However, a few people made me feel more comfortable, and I really enjoyed the face-up workshop on Sunday. I would most certainly attend again and definitely consider buying the Full Set, especially now that I've had the chance to work with the materials provided. While I still have much to learn, I can say with certainty I enjoyed painting my first face-up.

Thank you to all of you who helped me with my doll (she was a Bluefairy Tommy), from helping remove the head and head cap and restringing her body to letting me try out merchandise on her. Also, thank you to those who talked to me and thus made me feel a little less awkward and strange about owning a doll (one person mentioned something about how one of their family members sees them as their 'action figures'--I would say I am the same way).

I hope to see you again at the next Doll North.

    13. I really hope people uploaded pictures from the doll meet ~
I know some people took some wonderful images of my boy and girl ~
Pluuuus I'd like a better look of the ones that were there..

      ( never had the opportunity to get nosy ; o ; )

    14. I'm sad I missed the Doll Meet today, as I was really looking forward to it and had everyone in costume - but a surprise concert by the musical guest was too special to miss. So hopefully I will see some of you next year instead!

Hope everyone had a fun Doll North this year :)

    15. Even though Sonet and I only spent a short time at Doll North (and missed the meet-up on Sunday as I had a Katamari photoshoot at the same time), I was really glad to meet everyone! This was my first time at Doll North and my first time bringing my dolls to a convention. I'm so glad Sonet and I could connect with such awesome people! She's also very happy to be a red-head now! ;) I'm going to have to do a new photoshoot with her soon...

I have one question though - were the raffle tickets drawn at the meetup? I'm just interested to know who won, as I also entered.

I hope everyone had a great weekend! I certainly did! :D

    16. The meet up was amazingly fun :D I can't wait until next year's Doll North~ And my friend even went as far as buying a doll that day as well! He got one of the last ones at the dealer's table.

Thanks for all your hard work, Saturn! It was great!

    17. Yes, raffle tickets were drawn at the meetup. We were pleased that 2 of our winners were present at the meetup and we were able to award their prizes (I believe this was the MSD Gift basket, and Artemis YoSD Island Doll.)

Immediately afterwards we contacted the additional winners, 2 were able to arrive on site and pick up the other 2 gift baskets.

Our cute story of the day is that we were having some difficulty contacting the winner of YoSD Bobo, part of her phone number had been cut off on her ballot and our calls were not going through. Luckily, she did include her address. Mason and I pulled up her location on our gps and added a stop at her house on our route home Sunday evening.

We drove up to her house in a little subdivision in Markham at 8pm on Sunday evening and rang the doorbell, with the doll in hand we asked if the winner was home, (it turned out she was the one who answered - freshly showered after the long con and hair still wet) we replied "Congratulations! You won!" and handed her the doll. Her shouts of glee went on for quite a few minutes after that, it was a very special moment since she thought her chances at winning the raffle had passed since no one called after 2pm. There were lots of laughs and a very happy new doll owner, I hope to see her on GTA Dolls/ HOSL/ Den of Angels soon to post pictures of her new Bobo.

If any winners would like to step forward and announce yourselves or post a picture of you and your prize please feel free to do so on the Doll North 2011 gallery. We've chosen to not release the names of the winners on public forum in order to protect their internet privacy, but I can confirm that all raffle prizes were awarded to their winners.

Congratulations to all that won, please do post pictures of your prizes soon :)

    18. *o* What a wonderful story im so happy the winner of the Bobo was able to get her doll that was such a nice thing you did!

I had a blast this year, and i must say i thoroughly enjoyed many of the events i was present for! Thank you so much for putting this together again this year!

    19. Oh wow! What a great story!!!!! I would have loved to see then expresson on nher face when you showed up with the doll, thats just fantastic!!! Doll North was great this year, as it is every year, and I am looking forward to next year as well.

    20. This is a reminder that hotel space for Anime North 2012 is already booking up fast.

I am very confidant that Doll North will be held in the same venue next year (Sheraton Airport Hotel), and the dates for Anime North 2012 are May 25 - 27. If you are interested in staying on site at our hotel please contact: (416) 675 - 6100 and ask for reservations.

They will tell you that the hotel is fully booked, but if you ask for the Anime North group rate many rooms are still available. There is no deposit required other then your credit card number when booking the hotel, and it is possible to cancel your room at anytime up until 24 hours before check in without penalty.

I'm looking forward to many familiar faces staying with us in the Sheraton next year :)

    21. Oh dear I don't know if I should stay in the sheraton or in the double tree =( closer to doll or closer to the con *dilema*
