Doll North 2010 @ Anime North Toronto,ON

I don't think I will have enough time to make a very extensive collection for the event but I'll do my best to have some variety

I sent it March 9th to the email you have on the front page. I'm guessing this means you didn't get it all then?

Haha I'm not sure which doll to enter yet since I'm hoping to finish one off before the show but I won't know until a bit later ^^

 

Are we allowed to put in an entry for someone else? My friend will be coming but she's a bit lazy and so never really comes on DOA but would like to enter the show.

 

I'm entering at least two of the contests, but I'm not sure which dolls I'm entering yet. I'll probably wait until mid-May to send in my enteries forms if that's ok? (I want to wait until I've finished making the outfits, or at least until I've started them in case I change my idea) Or should I send in an entry form now and then change or add to it later??

Yes sorry aiko. yup I got yours . I have it and I missed adding you to the list of names on here. Its added now.

Yup the doll show entries will open at 10 am on sat and run till 12 noon. After that its closed off so we can get entries ready for the show. If you guys know what dolls you are bring you can send me a list of dolls and your name that way I can have show number ready for them. Then all I have to do is enter the numbers to the class list. Makes thing abit easier for me. If you don't know what dolls your bring you can wait closer to the show or day of .

Augh, want to volunteer, but I have to make sure I'm actually able to go first, since I wasn't able to last year (Who decided that it was okay to schedule people to work when AN is on?! Seriously!)

I hope I can get it confirmed soon... I need to be there!

 

I'm gonna make the drive up from Niagara Falls, USA. I have to pick a day to go though, and make it a day trip. Can anyone suggest a good place for 1 day only parking? Also, am I correct that there will be NO Doll Marketplace on Saturday? (I'm trying to decide which day to come).

Just a question;

Earlier all events for Doll North were announced as being held in the Hamilton Room.
The current Anime North schedule has Doll North events slotted for the Aurora Room, the same we were in last yr.
Do we have any confirmation on which it is??

Haha I was worried I was looking at the wrong year, but the pdf does say 2010 and it has all the correct show times, which are different than last yr, so I assume it's correct.

My friend kobbi and I are willing to volunteer to help with this (sending you a PM shortly).

As for the thing about limiting discussion about the doll marketplace/who's selling what/what people are looking for/doll forsale or trade/etc here on DoA, I wonder if we could open a Live Journal page or a Doll North 2010 deviantart group and have open chat about it there? (then we could use the DeviantArt group or LJ group as a place to share con pictures and announce contest winners, ect afterwards) ...just an idea..

Soooo what dolls is everyone bringing?

On Friday, I'll bring my Dollgru #9 to wander around with me and check out the doll market (he needs more clothes!). On Saturday, I'll take a break from dolls. Then on Sunday, I'll bring my AE Yara and she'll be hanging at my doll market table and going to the meet up with me.

So far I only have 9 people entered and 23 dolls. We have lots of room left and someone will be around friday May 28 to take entries jurying the marketplace and Sat 29 morning. If you are interested in showing but are not sure. Please just give me your name and how many dolls you are thing of showing. That way I can get numbers for you and have you in my book. Just makes it easier for me to get things ready.

So there's a sneak peek at the awards for the Doll North Doll Show.

 

I'll be bringing my Dollcatch Jade and Dollzone Ulli with me since they are the two that haven't yet gone to a meet-up. I should have them out at least for a bit each day. My friend Saku will be bringing her Dollcatch Benjamin and I'm trying to convince her to bring her Abio Angel Ling. We'll see what she ends up coming with.

 

I'm bringing Moswen (and hopefully, Kijika, if I get him back from the face-up artist's in time). Haniel might sneak along as well since he's a tiny and perfect for hiding out in pockets.

 

I'll probably be bringing my Luna Tamer in her chimera form (still unnamed) and my Ryuk on my Bobobie body, if only because he cracks me up since my Bobobie body is female and because, c'mon, it's an anime convention! Everyone will recognize Ryuk! Now if only my Chii MNM head were all painted I'd bring her too.

 

Bringing my YoSD Kuuta for sure... not sure about who else... 2 SDs on top of that tops since I will be flying by plane to this event and they will be needing to fit in my carryon lol.

 

I think I'm just bringing my DZ Aimi. My Lati Green is going away to grandma's for a while, my CP Chiwoo is just a head, and it's out for faceup... but my PKF Zoe might arrive JUST in time, and if so... she'll be there too!!!

I'm definitely coming on Sunday. I didn't pre-register or anything... is it hard to get in on the last day?

 

I want to bring my MNF Ryeon and LTF Leah, but my friends keep listing all SDs they want me to bring. If I had the capacity, I would bring all six of my SDs, if only because it would be awesome to bring five different Abio Angel molds. (Since so many people got Abio Angels at AN... it would be neat to bring my Shi, San, two Lings, Er, and Yi!)

LolaWants...: Sunday is the easiest day to get in. Friday and Saturday are very busy days, Sunday winds down a little, though there's still tons going on.

 

I think I've finally decided hahaa.
I'll bring Valon, my Volks Okita v1, and Yue my MNF Rheia. I might bring Quinn, my Soom glati, but i haven't decided. Like kobbi, I'm flying up so everyone needs to fit in my carry on. ^^

 

Oh I would just love to see an Okita in person!

 

I'll definitely be bringing Oska my SD16 Kira with me (she'll be entering the contest), but aside from the three dolls I'm selling I haven't decided on who else to bring yet..

 

Asher, my Elfdoll Red, will be joining me at AN again this year because it's become tradition. I'm also bringing a floating head that's being entered into the doll show (will borrow Asher's body for the contest). I'm not sure if anyone else will be coming. It depends on how much other stuff I have to carry. I'm stuck getting there on public transit by myself, and I sell at Nominoichi and have my suitcase 75% full of that stuff already, so I have to consider that.

If I bring a third doll, it'll be one of my MSD-sized crew. Or my DOB if he gets here by then, but I don't see that happening. I only ordered him last week.

 

Haha funny, because I would loooooove to see a Dollgru #9 in person! WE MUST GET PHOTOS TOGETHER ^^ Hehee

So it's definite. I'm going to book a hotel tomorrow for Saturday night and go down to the convention on Sunday (maybe even Saturday too depending on what time we get there, how admittance is, etc...)! \^_^/ My bf's being awesome and coming along too, so it's like a little mini-vacation!

So I'll be there with my DZ Aimi, and if all goes well, my PKF Zoe may arrive just in time! Can't wait to see everyone and finally meet S0ra and Rosamund!!!

 

ALRIGHT! *strikes a pose* I'm going and bringing my two boys and possibly a girl is she's ready. I'm not submitting my entry to the Doll Show until I know they're ready, but I will enter at least one category. :3 I do miss the backstory competition though.

I'm bringing my Volks SD13 Yori, my YoSD Kuuta, my Zuzu Delf Fenny and my Elfdoll Lydia. Maybe my Migidoll Ryu if his body gets here in time... He's gone through 2 body changes in the past 2 years lol.

I'm sorry to say but now I'm not sure I'm going to make it. It just cost too much for 1 day of doll stuffs (travel, hotel, etc...). If we get ambitious, we might decide to do a day trip, it's only 2 hours away, but we'll see... Maybe next year? T_T

 

@Lola: I hope things change that make you able to go. :3 Even if it's just for a day, I find its still worth it just to meet other members of the community. ^_~
