2. Thank you SaturnRose for starting this thread and hopefully we can have this happen this year. *finger crossed* Thank you to Acexkeikai for helping us and for all her hard work over the years on starting this amazing meet. I look forward to working with you both of this wonderful meet.

As Saturn says as soon as we know we will let you all know. Hopefully we can make this happen.

Cheers

3. Update.
I got a message from Anime team and our request for a room as been sent to Programing department. So waiting to hear back and will let you all know as soon as we do.

4. That's great to hear! I hope this goes through. It'll be my first doll meet-up ever.

Thanks so much for putting your time and effort into taking over organization of this event!

5. Thank you Kitty.
I'm hoping we will know soon so we can start getting things organized.

6. Any news? I hope they get back to you guys soon. :(

7. Hi Karista,

As of a few days ago we did receive confirmation that we will have a room in the doubletree for at least some of the weekend.

We have a few more things to sort out with the programming rep before we can 'officially' release the next up date.

But good news is co-ordination with Anime North programming is happening, and we have a confirmed room at this point.

Updates to follow very soon - by the end of this week if we receive the reply we're waiting on :)

8. Woah, I just found this thread and am so happy. I had been following the thread from last year's Doll North where all the discussion on 2010 DN had been happening and was getting scared that there weren't any updates but now that I've seen this thread and heard that there's been confirmation that there will be a room for BJD events I feel so relieved!! :)

I posted the link to this thread on the previous DN 2009 thread just incase anyone else missed the link too. Wow, this is awesome, thanks to everyone who is pushing forward with this!! <3

9. I'm also feeling slightly relieved about the whole thing, at least there's some good updates thus far :)

Great work so far SaturnRose and Azulafan199!

10. Woot a room! that is good news : D

12. I'll definitely be participating in a few of these :)

13. Updated the first post :)

14. I'm in for quite a few of these :D

15. Oh I'm so excited about the doll show/contest!! So funn! :D

I think that pre-registry is a great idea, I was just wondering if there is a deadline to register our dolls?

I was also wondering about registry for the Doll Marketplace. If I recall correctly, the past two years we were told a date when people could start sending emails to request table space, and each person who emailed after the start date received a number in the order that the emails were received as it was first come first served (although I don't think anyone has ever been turned away, but I'm not sure). I was just wondering if there will be a similar submission process this year and if so when should we start stalking the thread? haha ;)

Thank you!
:)

16. @Mistress_S_

Yes it will be a similar registration process, the Doll Marketplace will be run mostly in my hands, and the Doll Show mostly in Azula's. As of now we are waiting on a couple of resolutions on Anime North's side before we can release the details and times of the Doll Marketplace. My hope is to have this information in the following week or two and be able to begin taking registration.

The first post in this thread will be updated with that info as it's released :)

If I make a post that registration for Doll North Marketplace will begin, I will probably begin the official sign up a few days later so that every one gets an opportunity to see the update before I take registration on a first come first serve basis.

My hope is that we will have room for every one that is interested in being a vendor, and we will find ways to squeeze every one in if we end up with more interest then the previous years.

17. Hello Mistress_S_

You can register at the doll show on the day of the show but once the show starts registration will close. So the sooner we can get people registered the better. Also there will be packages available for the doll show with the dolls numbers in it and the doll show list . I hoping to exclude the sponsor list as well.

If anyone is interested in sponsoring prizes for classes please PM me off sight so I don't miss your message.

Thank you

18. Bumping up for the doll show and Market

19. There isn't a sign up for the market yet, right? Not trying to rush, just want to make sure I don't miss it :)

20. No sign up yet Elzamine, updates are coming soon.
I will update this thread with market information and the sign up will start approximately 4 days after that (I'll announce the sign up start date/ time). I want to give every one a chance to see the announcement before I start taking registration, but I am anticipating having room for all who are interested or making room :)

21. Sounds good, thanks so much!

Big thanks to SaturnRose and AzulaFan199 for figuring this all out! You saved our trip (and I'm sure man others as well!)

22. Bump for Doll North

Elzamine. your welcome and I hope everyone will have fun. :)

23. I totally forgot to check what was going on dollwise for AN! Glad I saw the thread on the main forum page. I'm so happy I'm going to be back in the GTA in time for the con. ^^ *goes off to put in a show entry form*

24. yay i'm glad that there is going to be a doll north this year i really can't wait to go:)

25. AN was the first place I saw BJDs - not sure if we're going to make it this year or not, but we'll see!

26. Looks like I might actually get to go this year instead of just having pictures of my dolls there :)

27. Yup there will be Doll North. Still waiting to hear back about Market place and Doll Show times . Hopefully SaturnRose will get times soon. I wish to thank SaturnRose too for all her hard work.:)

28. I'll be there! This will be my first AN. I'm so excited. I can't wait to see the doll market!

29. I'm so glad there will be another Doll North happening. The last year or so I had fallen out of the Doll scene, but all this time I did keep one of my dolls (my first one at that). I've gotten back into it, and I can`t wait to attend and see everyone's dolls. =D

30. Last year I couldn't get to the doll market because we had to leave at the time it was opening, so hopefully I can make it this year and get some clothes and a wig for my dear Amalia! I'm very excited!

31. I hope I get a table this year! I had one last year, but I've been working all year round to make more (And better) clothes and jewelery to sell, and I'm so excited!

32. :Dill go see it for sure
i might not brign my dolls at AN, ill ahve so much costumes and stuff already that ill probably leave them home, but ill come for sure!

33. Ditto what aoi said... I don't want to risk misplacing my beauties, so they will most likely stay at home, but I'll be plundering the Dollie market for sure! Time for some new clothes, girls! *the girls cheer... silently.*

34. ****Please remember to attend Doll North as an Con-goer, Vendor, or Volunteer you MUST have an Anime North regular admittance badge, no exceptions.****

ALSO
Sunday: 10am-12pm in the Hamilton Room of the Doubletree Hotel

Vendor Information
Vendor Sign ups are OPEN

TABLES
Tables will be approximately 6’ x 2.5’ these tables are QUITE large and I know with BJD merchandise it can be difficult to fill an entire table. In our circumstance this is a good thing, please consider your stock carefully and indicate to me whether you will be able to use only a half table when you sign up. Not every one who says they can accommodate a half-table will have to, but it gives us the opportunity to allow all vendors interested in selling a place to participate.

You are responsible for your own table, stock, and “change float” at all times. I will not be asking for assistants to cover individual vendors during the marketplace – we will have door monitors, but they will not be checking items, they are just there to help control capacity. Please bring your own assistance if you are worried about needing to step away, or keeping an eye on your table. (Limit 2 per table at any time)

TIMES
Vendors have the choice of signing up for one or both of the Marketplace time slots. Please be prepared to arrive at the Hamilton room 30 minutes before the Marketplace begins, I understand that some of you may have commitments to other events during some of these time blocks, please indicate if you will have to leave early on your sign up form, I will do my best to accommodate you.

WHAT TO SELL?
Any BJD items are acceptable, Pullip and Blythe items are welcome as well. The focus of Doll Marketplace is on the artisans, if you are interested in only offering a few (5-10) second-hand company made doll items please indicate that, the focus will be going to our artisans and they will fill the tables before we open up additional room to small used item sales.
Acceptable items: Clothing, Eyes, Wigs, Shoes, Re-ment, Doll Heads, Complete Dolls.
If you are unsure just send me an email and we can work out what’s appropriate.

COST?
Due to numerous requests for doll “prizes” at many of last year’s events we are requiring a small donation from our vendors this year. For each day that you participate as a vendor we request that you donate a BJD item, this can be an item that you are selling, a new company made BJD item, or a second hand item in good condition.
Half of these items will be distributed as prizes at the BJD Show, and the other half will be combined into a gift basket. Raffle tickets for the gift basket will be sold all weekend and ALL proceeds will be going to Anime North’s charity. Your name or store name will be advertised when your item is awarded at the doll show, or included in the announcement of the winner of the gift basket. Winner of the gift basket will be announced at Sunday’s Doll Meet.

35. First post is updated with important links. Doll Marketplace details are now live, vendor sign up begins this Saturday :)

Thank you again for your continued support every one!

36. I had a question about the timing of the sign ups.

Since I work from 9-5pm every Saturday, I'm concerned about tables disappearing by the time I get to a computer at 10:30am (on my break when I'm allowed >_<). Since I've never been involved in this before, do the tables tend to go very fast? I know the AN Crafts tables are gone super quick so I'm worried about it happening with the Doll North tables too ^^;.

37. @Aiko_Kikuchiyo

I don't believe we will have an issue with tables going very fast, I think we have a little more interest then we have in previous years, but my emphasis is on trying to find a balance so every one who is interested in selling will have an opportunity to. In the worst case scenario I may have to limit 1 day per seller, but I don't anticipate this happening.

I'll be honoring the first come first serve basis, but I hope that with some vendors going down to a half table we'll be able to accommodate every one.

I've posted this sign up time strictly for every one to have a chance to read the announcement before I take sign ups. In previous years I signed up a week or two after the announcement and was still able to get a slot.

38. Yey I'm excited about this announcement!

I assume the 9am sign up time is 9am central, the Ontario time zone? Just double checking since I'm on another time zone :)

39. @Elzamine

Ah sorry forgot to include it's 9AM EST I will update the post.

40. OKay! Thank you for answering that ^_^.

41. YES! YES! YES! :XD:

I might be a little late to the marketplace due to a cosplay photoshoot, but I'll definitely be there!
I'm excited to check out the gift basket too. Great idea, guys!

Thank you both again for all of your hard work~ :aheartbea

42. Sorry I wanted to ask a question for clarity, from what i'm getting I understand that the Doll Market is only open on Friday and Sunday, but not Saturday? It is the doll show competition only on Saturday?

43. @ Roguecrx

Yes, that is correct. Doll North takes place in a single room of the doubletree hotel over Anime North weekend, we do not have the room to have the doll marketplace running non-stop over the weekend so we have to schedule times for all of the events within our one devoted room. In the previous years only one 2-3 hour doll marketplace slot was accommodated, so we are very excited to be able to extend it on a second day with additional hours. A detailed schedule of the events that will be hosted will be posted in the coming weeks :)

44. I've added an additional question to the sign up sheet:

"If you are willing to split a table is there another seller you would prefer to share with?:"

If sellers don't happen to see the question before the sign up day it's okay, I'll address those sellers individually for their answer.

45. Question! If we sign up for a table to sell our handmade items, can we also offer one or two factory made items on the table as well?

46. @S0ra Yes you definitely can, since we're unlikely to have any official company retailers at the event or anime north itself we're encouraging any kind of doll product to be sold at the marketplace.

47. Great! Thank you!

48. Do you think there will be any chance of having a tentative and very general list that sellers can post of what sort of goods they'll sell? I'm curious about all the goods that will be there. I realize this is a heckuva lot of work so i'm not expecting it but it would be nice? :3

49. Maybe we could start a Doll North buy/sell/trade chat thread..? Then some sellers might get a better idea of what people want and if they should bother to bring bigger items like furniture or expensive items like full dolls or doll heads.. and buyers would get a better sense of how much money they should bring if people will be selling items that they're looking for,, well just an idea ;)

50. @Roguecrx and Mistress_S_

I'm willing to open up a discussion for this and include our current registered vendors and what types of items they are planning to sell, more discussion over trade and reserved items could be facilitated in this thread, but it would be up to the vendor if they want to accept reservations prior to the con, I know I would be a bit tentative to do this if the item was a piece of clothing etc. because you may lose an early sale by holding out for someone who's reserved it.

I'm not sure where this thread is going to be appropriate because it is regarding Marketplace type transactions. I am going to get in touch with the mods and find out where this thread should be hosted before it goes up.

I'll update here once it's live, thanks for the suggestion you two :)

51. Sounds like a good idea :) Thanks for looking into it SaturnRose

52. I've been in touch with the moderator for the News/Event Chat.
I'm going to add our list of vendors to the Doll Marketplace information post, and will be linking to it from the first post. In regards to our vendor's asking the attendees for input on what to bring/ opening a discussion for that this is the response I received:

"The thread would get way too detailed if people get into discussions on what will be sold.
The forum is not an R&D tool for sellers to get input from potential customers. Vendors are allowed to ask for input, but the vendors must also say all responses must be sent directly to them via email (preferred)."

So.. if you are a vendor who would like to receive input let me know and I will add to your name on the Vendor list that attendees can contact you privately via PM or email (your discretion) to request certain items.
For the vendor list I will include the details that vendor's have provided for me regarding what type of items they will be selling.

Regarding requested holds attendees will also have to do this via PM, I recommend copying Elzamine's initiative if this is something you are interested in offering and changing your signature to indicate you'll be selling at Doll North's Marketplace and to contact you for specific requests or to hold items if you are open to that.

I hope this is a good compromise for the requests we've received, I will be sending a mass email to vendors letting them know about this addition to the thread.

53. when is the whole thing happening? :blush

54. @GlukoZza

I've updated the first post and added the dates and location of Anime North, further details and links to purchase tickets can be found on the link back to Anime North's website, http://www.animenorth.com/main/

You'll also find this link on the first post, thanks :)

56. I've posted a list of our Doll Marketplace vendors and will do my best to keep it up to date as more are added. You can find links to details on the Marketplace, Doll Show, and Vendor List all in the first post :)

Call out for Volunteers and Itinerary will be posted soon!

57. Eee I am excited :D I hope to work on some epic one offs for the event :3

58. This is a great idea, I've sent in my registration to have half a table but I was wondering if what I am planning to make for the event will be appropriate. I was thinking maybe a mechanical spider chair, a throne perhaps, some electric guitars and microphone stands. Anyone else have ideas?

59. I would love to see some affordable furniture of any sort really! I'm more into the modern stuff but anything would be awesome.

I can't wait for this event! I'm definitely going to be entering a few of the contests.

60. I'm really excited that this is coming together for the con. This definitely means I'll have to hold back some cash from the Dealer Room to spend on dolls.
