hey it turns out teeth can make dolls look really different

 

Still really like those teeth...

I feel like most of my photos of Kaylyn now are sibling spam with Onyx, but with so many new dolls it's really difficult to keep taking photos of all of them, especially when I'm still infatuated with others...

But uh, I also have some possible new character designs for a Tan Lincy boy and a Tan Arefa girl... which would be really interesting considering that Lincy up thar is in my dollmeet group and I happen to have an Arefa myself.

My only beloved one is a Nichi's mold, that mold with ginger hair looks really stunning! But I don't know why her right arm don't stare in "L" position untill touch her face, meanwhile her left arm it does :/ hmm I'll try to change the arm elastics to another more big.

Omgosh she is sooo pretty! I must get more pictures of my boy and his little sister... because I have neglected them alot lately... and I also want to get my other Arefa and a Lincy boyy... I already linked this picture of my mockup of Riot and Noa but I'll post it properly now

oh wow, I have been looking at all the nice dolls on this thread, and I would love to get an anona or evol. I like the face up of the evol on ebay, really pink, but looking at the evol's on this thread they don't look as pink... don't they paint them as pink as on the website?

also, does everyone make their own dolls clothes or do you buy them as msd clothes on etsy? I'd like a hoody but need a pattern I have a resinsoul espree but some tops I buy are too small for her mature body, do you have the same problem with the dollLove bodys?

I've ordered my Evol with the faceup... and when she's arrived, she wasn't so pink as in the original photo Q__Q
Here you can see her face:


Compared to the original faceup (http://www.doll-love.com/UploadFiles/2012430153145779.jpg) you can see that eyes and cheek was really different >__< but nothing that you can't fix by yourself!

For the clothes, mine has the flat chest, so everything for slim msd can fit really well <:

Not my Luts KDF, but ages ago there was a conversation about if Luts clothes will fit DollLove... shorts definitely will, and possibly short sleeve tops though I forgot to try that

Please note mister Luts is wearing shoes and they look quite different without them... just didn't manage to get a picture as Kaylyn is a crap stander, and this is the type 2 body which MAY be wider? I've only seen Luts type 1 girl and I remember her being slimmer... not 100% sure though

Width wise Luts has a bit more tummy so while DL can comfortably wear Luts pants (except they are very short) Luts can't wear Alice's Collections jeans.

 

When I wanted to buy my very first doll I felt for Lincy, I love the fullset too (She reminds me of Shinku from Rozen Maiden, the onlyyyy manga I really liked). But I think that Nichi is also very sweet and they look quite similar... Does anyone have these two girls ?

Btw, may I ask if someone had a minifee in pink skin? I'd like to see if the resin can match <: also, if it's possible to put a DL head on a minifee body... anyone?

DL have really big heads compared to minifee, but I don't have a good picture of my realpuki (very late 2013) compared to my friend's Lincy (y'know, from Lincy up there... xD) (earlier 2013) (This is one of the ones I do have. They look like they match better than I imagined https://flic.kr/p/mQi3hM)

Yeah, Idk Evol's head might be smaller than Lincy, but it's tricky~ DL are regular minis and Mnf are slim...

Can't believe I have not been here for so long But my Arefa (Salem) is not going anywhere. I am thinking of getting him a new face-up. One that looks better on WS

Before that I will give a new hair style and outfit a chance. But that means I will have to order something new for Salem. Gonna have to do some windows shopping for a while first though.

 

Eep Salem's gonna look gorgeous, I know he will! ^ - ^ I'm planning to take Kaylyn with me to college (english college! more like highschool xP) so I can get some photos afterwards... hrmm...

 

I feel bad for Salem. He's not gotten much attention. I realised that the face-up I requested for him does not fit who ever he is. It's a nice face-up and all but it doesn't say "Hi my name is Salem!".

I have had him for quite a while now and I still have not been able to figure him out I'm gonna take some time thinking about new face-ups. I think either he'll be a hardcore Goth, or an albino boy. Might be I'll go for the albino look


I would so bring Kaylyn to college if I were you I would miss my little dolls very much If I weren't to see them for a long time.

Well it's english college, I still live at home ^ - ^ never did get round to that photoshoot... BUT I have actually decided to make him some mori boy clothes :3

 

Oh, I like the idea of a goth albino And I could get him some cool outfits from Doll Heart.

Gonna google different types of face-ups befefore I make my final decission. I'm hoping to get him sent for new face-up soon or within a couple of weeks. If I'm lucky I should have the time and monny to get him sent by then


What is actually a mori boy? I have heard about it but have no idea what it really is.

 

Well, it's the male version of mori girl, it's like... a light, flowy, layered japanese style based off of forests and stuff ^ - ^ I've got the base layers so far (blank baggy shirt and harem pants~)

This is NOT a particularly flattering photo of his harem pants but it's the best I have atm.

I think I need to make... a cardigan... more scarves... and possibly 3 quarter length baggy cargo pants or something. I don't really know, but I'm pretty sure this is a style that works quite nicely for him~

 

That style look really good on him I would have taken some pictures of Salem to if he had not been so incomplete. Can't wait to get him finished!

I can at least share the face-up style I decided to go for. It's a make-up picture that I found. Added some extra details to it to get it just right



Might be I have to wait a bit longer than I thought to send him for face-up. I need to do a little order for him first. Or maybe I can just ask the face-up artist to apply dark brown eyelashes. I guess he won't be a 100% albino but I love this face-up

I envy people who have interest in sewing. I have zero interest and patience to sew. So I like to go shopping for bjd clothes on Etsy.

Yes, Dak is the black one. he's a God-Enjoy head on a boy body and I had someone dye him for me as I wasn't confident enough to do it myself. You don't see a lot of God-Enjoy sculpts around and I think I'm the only one with it as a boy. It's a very strong sculpt in that he actually doesn't have a face-up, only eyelashes, yet people assume he does because of the lines of his sculpt. Here's a better, direct shot of Dak's face.

 

Just paid for my DollLove Kaja. Can't wait. I will do his face up myself.

 

I'm about to buy a DollLove Kaja, and every seller says his head circumference is 18cm. What size wig would I buy for him?

Thank you! And yep, that's an American girl horse, my friend owns that one and another one, she invites me every once in a while to take pictures with our BJDs on the horses XD it's super fun and we get some really nice pictures from it

Your Anona looks super cute! Tip for freckles: put watercolour paint on an unused toothbrush and flick at your doll. It creates a really cute splatter of freckles and if there are odd looking ones or areas too thick you can just get a Q-tip and rub some out~

I think I might revert Kaylyn, my Arefa, back to a more modern, normal clothing style... thinking hoodies...

 

I can't wait for my Kaja's head to get his faceup and come back home. This thread needs more pictures.

I've enjoyed looking at all the owner pics! I just ordered an Alina and I can't get enough of all the owner pics. She'll be my first doll and I am beyond impatient x_x She should arrive in June....

First time on this thread! I can't believe I haven't tried to find a Doll Love thread before now. I've had my Cecelia for two years now, bought her at a local doll show and I absolutely love her. She had her default face, but there'd been some gunk on her face and in trying to remove the gunk I partially removed the faceup. As the wig I used partially concealed the eye, it wasn't noticeable. Still, she's a beautiful girl, my Rose.



She's a tiefling, a half demon, and loves pretty dresses and cosplaying. She's recently gotten a new faceup and is all fixed, but as this only happened Thursday, I haven yet to take pictures of her.

It's not her final wig or eyes (neither have been ordered yet), but I'm liking her color and looking forward to blushing her.

What color hair and eyes do you plan to order for her?

 

I've been pretty nervous about it before, myself, [MENTION=42740]PeppermintPocky[/MENTION], but my attempt to paint her went HORRIBLY (she turned RED), so after seeing the results with iDye Poly, I decided to just go ahead and dunk her (rather than risk the unpredictability of Rit). But I'm also carving up a MNF and a LTF, so I lost a lot of my mod-related nervousness with those projects.

She's getting either dark-brown or black hair; I'm not fully decided on her eyes yet, though. I'm not sure I ever did a color drawing of her character where I sorted out what colors she's properly supposed to be! I'm certainly up for suggestions on what eye color might look nice with the rest.

 

@vicemage I've never heard of iDye Poly --- I'll have to look into it! Maybe someday I'll be brave enough to try using it. I think a dark wig would look great on your God-Enjoy. As far as her eyes, you could go with a red-brown to compliment her new resin tone, although if she were mine I'd be tempted to pop a vivid blue, yellow or light purple in her just so I could admire the extreme contrast.

 

[MENTION=42740]PeppermintPocky[/MENTION], there's a couple threads about it now down in the Customization and Maintenance forum, which is where I learned about it and how very effective it is (it's pretty permanent, too, there's not really any going back from this color change!). I'm thinking maybe a lighter color for her eyes, myself... I might have some spare yellow and light purple ones around that are "good" ones (not all my "spare" eyes that I pop in on newcomers) and would fit. Silver or silver-blue might be fun, too... decisions, decisions!

Hello everyone! I'm still new in the world of Doll Love and I'm still getting through this thread (30 pages!), but I was wondering if someone could please confirm the height of the 1/4 boys? And any comparisons with any other companies' boys (preferably Doll in Mind and Impldoll) would be SO helpful!
