Doll Leaves Mini [45 cm] Discussion part 2

Here's an old one of my Gabriel girl, Ginkgo. I recommend the special hands that Doll Leaves has for the boy body. I actually use them on my girl, and I like them much more than the default hands.

Gabriel is my favorite Doll Leaves sculpt! I think it will make an excellent boy!

 

iwasteela thanks for sharing her! so pretty, it's such a nice sculpt~ I have like 3 or 4 doll leaves sculpts I'd like to get, but I'm going with Gabriel because I like the uniqueness of her closed eyes and round cheeks, I think she'll make a lovely, pretentious little boy x)

 

I love doll leaves sculpts so much. i got a W (Wish) on a female body and she is just perfect. kinda sad i dont see many more Wishes online

 

What a sweet girl. I agree Doll Leaves is very under rated. I love all of my Doll Leaves Girls.

 

Hello! I've enjoyed the dolly spam and soon I'll be able to contribute. I order Puppet 02, the doll I was dying to own. I know she was suppose to be limited but due to her unpopularity the had some left and I'm finally able to bring one home. Even though she is not popular, I have always loved her and I have big plans for her. Can't wait to share her here once she arrives.

 

I'm really thinkin about finally getting my doll leaves boy body for my floating head since they have the event...and I'll give the head to another body that I was trying to find a head for so it will all work out quite fabulously.

 

I just bought my second doll leaves boy a NS Kira. I have the tan another me version and I absolutely love his face especially the mouth and eyes. Finally I will have a second msd around. My poor little guy usually hangs out with a bunch of 65+ boys.
RyokoDWolfwood I will be interested to see your puppet. She looks amazing to me in the company pics. I love that whole marionette thing

The wait drives you crazy huh Ryoko? I got an estimate of 2 months from Jeeryama but who knows it my be longer. I'm really looking forward to having a second Kira. He is going to look very different to Lox.
I'm calling my little guy Lox now so his name is not confused with my other bjd Loki. I took some pics of Lox today so I thought I would add a bit of spam

 

I ordered my Lilith from Denver Doll on 4/13, was told the wait time would be about 10 weeks. I'm now on week 18. Ryoko, I hope you get your puppet girl within 16 weeks but don't be surprised if it takes longer. I emailed them for an update and they said there was no word on when she would ship. I'm getting a little frustrated and I hope I will still love her when she finally arrives.

Ugh, waiting kills me. I know ordering through a third party like DDE takes longer but 18 weeks must be miserable. I ordered straight form the company and Willow arrived within a month x.x Here she is.

I am finally satisfied with Farryn's appearance after switching around his wig and eyes, I had to experiment a little to find a look I liked!

 

@Kavarr: Your Kira is so cute. Yes, the wait is killer! Hope you get your boy within two month. Would love to see pics of him and Lox together once he arrives.

@renee_chan:18 weeks! That sucks, hopefully it won't be much longer now till you get your Lilith. I'm prepared to wait but still anxious.

Great news! My Lilith arrived today Plus the little event doll, I think it's name is Arwen or something... My Lilith is the Another Me grey version and I ordered her with the faceup. She looks so lovely from what I can see through the bubble wrap; I'll have to get off work to totally unwrap her. I was afraid I wouldn't like her after the long wait but I think she'll be sticking around

Well I'm in for a bit of wait decided to go ahead and order through Denverdoll so looking at 8-12 weeks..blech..but I'll have a boy body to go with my floating head and a head to go on a floating body..lol

 

I've traded out Lydia's original body and I've ordered a spiritdoll body for her. The NS resin match is almost perfect. It's going to take three months but a brand new Lydia is coming soon ^___^

 

Heya, I hope someone could help me and my friend a little bit. She bought Doll Leaves Another Me Maya (tan) earlier in this summer and the sculpt is lovely, but there's one thing.. she hates the hands. So I'm asking that is there any companies with fitting hands in size and color? They don't need to be 100% in color, just close enough, since we're going to blush them anyways. :>

sielunkutoja Jumping in for advice. Dollzone hands are perfect for the body, but I'm not sure if the color will match. I've seen people put Fairyland hands on them but they're a little too dainty for the boys, in my opinion and general doesn't offer tan regularly (which is, still, several shades darker and a much more cool tone than Doll Leaves). Generally try companies like mirodoll, resinsoul and angell studio that agree to color matching requests as long as you send them some of your doll's resin (say a hand or foot or headcap something)

Also, NocturnalMelody forgive the bias but I adore your boy! I also have a feeling he and my Wish, Nowe, might actually have the same wig! xD;

I hated the hands too and I agree with the choice of Dollzone hands as a substitution. Plus they look great! I still have pictures of the DZ hands on the DS body if you want some comparison pics. I had a white body and white hands and the resinmatch wasn't perfect but it was good enough for me.

 

Soenatte: Thank you, why we didn't think about Resinsoul at all.. o_O gosh I feel so dumb right now. We're going to check that how the hand fits with the DS boy, since RS has nice hands for msd-size dolls.

itzreeseybetch: Yeah I saw the picture you've posted and I was pretty surprised that how DZ hands with DS. :3 Our problem was also the color, since this DS one is limited and I have a feeling, that many other companies don't have the same resin color.

Spiritdoll has lovely hands. I'm not 100% sure how they would fit doll leaves but they have a lovely tan and they also do custom colors

Seeing all this great dolly spam gets me more anxious! I've resigned myself to the fact that Puppet will not arrive till the end of the semester. So in a way I can celebrate the end of Fall semester with her.

 

Ahhh he's adorable!! It's great seeing more of Wish, he's such a great sculpt! And you might be right, their wigs do look very similar! I got mine from natrume on Etsy, I really like her wigs and that one especially got my attention (fluffy wigs are the best :P)

Here is my Amara. She needs a new wig sooo bad! Matter of fact she needs new clothes too.
I need to do a photo shoot of my Kira once he gets a new face-up. Or, at least once I brush out his hair. I've neglected him so bad. He sits in the corner holding a headless Arwen (She's at the spa.) Poor Kira!

Kavarr: Thanks so much! They're MakoEyes. They were easy to position and they're great quality too, I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for eyes. May I ask you how you were able to get your Kira in such a rich tan color? I don't see an option on the website, yet I've seen lots of people here talking about "Another Me" sculpts (and I have no clue what they are) but I've only been a doll owner for about seven months and am still a bit new Lox is so cool, by the way!!

The another me Kira, Maya and V were done in tan resin. They are supposed to be sold out according to Doll Leaves site but DDE still shows them as available. http://www.denverdoll.com/dollleavespecialed.php
The company don't have tan as an option normally. As you say it is a very rich tan and he is much darker than my other tan dolls. I have only seen a couple of them on here and I noticed someone is selling one on the marketplace. Glad you like him. I love the LE face-ups too. I must check out those mako eyes.

yes. in her story she is a character that can jump to different dimension. this is the fairy realm version of her where she is an elf mage.

I ordered the GrabBag LeekeWord wigs b/c it is such a good deal. Hopefully I will get a blonde wig! If not, she can wear her brown one for a while longer. There is just something about it... Meh.

the tan Kira is gorgeous, I didn't know they did tan either might have to check up on that I totally would have ordered one during their even if I had known.

 

I'm waiting on a Gabriel and Maya along with an F & W head. I have nothing prepared though and it makes me nervous, especially seeing all these lovely dolls!

 

Homucchi with eyes I find the smaller ones look more realistic and mature. So it depends on what look you want.

Kitty Blue I was just lucky to be just looking at dolls when they had the tan ones and I ordered one immediately. They also did the different frosty white makeup.

Hey there! I recently got Doll Leaves boy and I noticed that the thigh joint (where you can swivel the leg) is cut differently than the girl's bodies. The boys have a curved line cut while the girls have a straight cut. I wonder why Doll Leaves would make these differences?

 

Just joining this discussion because after a long break from the hobby, I feel ready for a new doll again! And Doll-Leaves poignant faces are just what I want.

I saw a Flora on Flickr and fell in love, researched the body and was happy and thrilled with the price, but then I saw Vivian on the website and became completely infatuated. Currently reeling with disappointment that her beautiful faceup isn't available without the full set, which I don't want.

 

I believe it is? You can get any doll with face-up and without full set

 

All of your dolls are so pretty! So refreshing to see so many doll leaves sculpts becoming more popular!

Unfortunately Vivian seems to be the only exception. i think it's because the faceup belongs to the LE30 edition.

I emailed them asking if they could do Amara's faceup on V, since they both have the toothy mouths. They can only say no! Doing my own faceup is out of the question with a toddler running around, I still have a blank doll from two years ago.

If they do say no, well, seems like I'm set on a DS girl for Christmas. I still love Flora, but lovely Willow above is making me want Amara. Or maybe my first boy doll. I never was interested in boy dolls, but then, I had the world's most adorable son and suddenly boys are more appealing.

I still need to mess his clothes up a bit (they're too big so I'm thinking turn them into handmedowns) and maybe smudge some 'grease' on his arms. Pretty proud of that faceup since it's my first. What do you lot think?

I was so impressed with his posing when I first handled him. I've never had a doll who could move so smoothly! I like him so much I'm actually getting a body for Royal head I got in the recent event and planning on getting another few from DLeaves. Such great dolls!

 

I'm sorry if this is answered somewhere else, I've searched all over the forum and can't seem to find anything helpful. I'm really considering getting a Maya (as a boy) for my first doll and I'd like to know if the standard 1/4 clothes from Alice's Collections will fit him? Does it depend on the piece? AC seems to have such a wide selection, much better than other dealers I've looked through...
