Hi everyone~ Got my first Doll Leaves MSD, a boy Royal, not to long ago. Was wondering if anyone had done a hybrid with a pair of jointed hands on any of their dolls. I've been poking around but I'm not very good at measurements and eye-balling sizes and such. ;c;

 

I would also like to know about good matches for the hands.

I've got such a crush on Doll Leaves' face sculpts ;_; they have such character and spunk I can't help but be happy whenever I look at them~ I am not a huge fan of their body (aesthetics, they pose ok for me) but the faces totallllly make up for it!

 

Need more Royal

 

So eventually I'm going to get a doll leaves MSD boy so I thought I'd drop in and see if anyone had any comparisons of the boy body next to any of the Resinsoul dolls? Just want to judge size, I think the Doll Leaves body will be perfect for one of my characters but would like to get a better idea. thanks for any help or point me in the right direction.

So here's my first doll, a Doll Leaves Lilith. I have had her for a time now but this is the first time I actually post a picture of her ^^

Tried Lydia's head on a spiritdoll body. It looks great!!

 

Wow~! I love those hands! Are they a good match?

 

Heck yeah! The resin match is I would say 98%. Doll leaves normal is slightly more creamish and Spiritdoll normal is ever so slightly more pink. But it's REALLY dang close. About as close as you can hope for.

Thank you ^___^ I wish I could make it better. It's actually too small ( I never photograph the back and her hair covers it ) but since she's going to have a large bust body then I'm going to convert it to a lace up back.

This is a great combination. I love the lavender eye shadow next to the green eyes. Then with the intense teal next to it, wow! Really well planned.

 

itzreeseybetch, she looks great on that body! The hands are especially beautiful. Can I ask what you see as the advantages are over her stock body? I'm intrigued by the possibilities.

 

It's mostly an aesthetic thing for me. And the arm posing is much much better than her stock body. I couldn't get her to touch her face or chest very well and posing was so/so for me. I never gave her any modifications though like hot glue or kips. Plus I'm just kind of in love with the Spiritdoll body right now. It's very long and graceful. It has gentle curves and super expressive hands and very natural posing. The hands are really what did it though. I don't know if anyone remembers but I swapped out her original hands for a pair of Dollzone hands quite a while ago. Changing the hands really helped me finally start to bond with Lydia and I think this is the best move to keep me from getting rid of this head entirely xD

 

Thank you for sharing your viewpoint. Does it make her taller or shorter or does she end up about the same height?

 

I'll have to measure her. With the head on she's supposed to be 45cm but standing them next to each other Remy was definitely taller than Lydia. I think that with Lydia's larger head that she'll stand about 47cm. If she's still 45 then I'll be surprised. But the long limbs might make her look taller than she really is.

 

So I've measured her and I was right. With the Spiritdoll body she definitely LOOKS taller... but she's still 45cm

 

I have kind of a stupid question, but what all fits the Doll Leaves girl body? Is she considered a slim MSD? Sorry about the stupid questions, but I'm having a little trouble picturing the body based on measurements. I want to make my friend's doll a replica of her wedding dress, but I don't know if I have a doll with similar measurements.

There are no stupid questions. Yes, Doll-leaves are considered slim minis. It was hard for me to believe it until I looked at the measurements of other normal MSDs ( plus their feet don't fit any shoes I buy! )

 

It has been a while since I've taken any new pictures of my Doll Leaves G. Ginkgo has had her new wig for months, but she looked so cool with her new vest that I finally had to do a new portrait.

Their feet don't? If anything that's the one 'regular msd' body part Doll Leaves have xD; at least the boys. Never had any trouble with shoes unless they were on the larger side (and I swear to god I have a Luts pair that can almost fit SD10 feet >_>;;; )

 

The girls have small feet for regular MSD, but pretty standard for slim MSD. It's not too hard to find shoes, but anything for MSD size is usually too big. They fit Minifee size very well, and shoes for Tonner Matt male fashion dolls fit if you need something less dainty.

Lilith is really pretty but I think that the compagny's pictures are not showing all the potential of these dolls...
