Your girls look really great. What body is your Lestia on?

 

Thank you! Lestia is on the "latest" Love body. They said it wouldn't fit and neck mobility could be better (her head likes to snap around a lot), but proportions are great. I'm still contemplating sanding the neck a bit for a better fit.

Oof... now I really wish I'd gotten a body kit during the sale. I've been searching for a body close to those proportions, and there aren't very many options. The best one I've found is the April Story 60cm body, even though the color wouldn't match.

 

Aw, that's too bad! You're right, AprilStory is on the yellowish side while DiM (when new) is very pink. Maybe (if you don't mind a slight mismatch) you could blush the head to match better?

 

I've just been tweaking my girl's Love kit body that I put together a while back- I tightened up her stringing, hot glued those little ankle pieces into place, and put some kips in her wrists, which has increased their posability a lot. I also sanded her *ahem* headlights off (!) as they kept snagging on clothing, they were that pointy! Took maybe a mm off their overall size too, her resin was very soft when wet, it was pretty easy to do. If anyone wants before and after pics I can add links, just let me know.

 

For those who might still be searching for a body I took a picture of my Anneliese head on the XM body I just received from Mirodoll because the resin match and neck fit is very good. The colors are almost the same but the head is a smidge lighter and pinker, hard to see it though. (Whereas with the really old DIM head I have the head is a little more yellow than the body). It's thinner and shorter than the Love body and definitely poses better. Just thought I'd share since it's a good inexpensive option.

I'm repainting my Anneliese now. I'm having such a hard time with this head. At some point I realized that her features look (to me) exactly like a newborn baby head . . . on an adult body. I wish I had never seen it because now I can't un-see it.

@Jany - Yeah, I'll probably have to blush-match. Either that or go up to a slightly larger body.

I find her so much easier to dress not having to worry about her *assets* damaging fragile clothing! Hope this is helpful.

She's on Resinsoul 60cm girl body. I'm so in love with her! Can't wait to start sewing for her! Now she's only borrowing clothes from my other girls and that's not okay for a vampire queen like her... She's such an inspiring character and doll for me! ^^

 

@suruni I love the colour palette you have chosen for Myr, she looks very cool and supernatural. I hope you share your sewing creations here also. I put Ottilie on an SD10 body for the moment, she is now much younger! The resin match is not great, but it bothers me less than I thought it would:

So, my Rain head finally has a body after 10+ years of hanging out in the Head Box. Wow! Better yet, some of the clothes I had on hand fit her.

So Ayumu went outside for pictures today. (There's a weird reflection on her poor little face. Sorry, sweetie!)


She's on an April Story body, but she's such an older head that the resin match is really close. I'm just so happy with how she's finally come together!! ^-^

 

I have no idea what happened to DIM doll.
It can't find some early profiles of love dolls from official website.
Does anyone has backup about them?

 

DIM has stopped all production of their sculpts and don't plan on making them again. Their last selling period was in November of 2016. They said they may make new sculpts in the future but it all seems a little up in the air. I didn't know they were stopping production until it was too late and missed out on the Bellosse I've always wanted.

 

Actually they have started producing again. A new Happy sized head has shown up on their website last week (msd sized). So hopefully there will be SD girls again too in the future.

 

What?! Oh @Cyador you just made my day! Yes I hope they bring back the Love girls too, and have a sculpt I might love as much as Bellosse

 

I hope they stick to their style .... it's what made them special. I could have bought four or five more MSD and a couple more SD heads had they not been gone by the time I'd scraped up the money.

I don't think they make custom heads anymore, but I could be wrong. I think you can ask them. If you just google Doll In Mind and then click on D.I.M Doll you should be able to get on the DIM site.

@Evelien I had that problem before. But I hot glue sued ed her and she has a wig with a tight elastic so it keeps her in place.

 

@Evelien - I know that problem with every Love sculpt I have - green eyeputty also solves this

I had a lot of fun reading through this thread, and I ordered a Bellosse head last week so I'm super exited to see how amazing these dolls are for myself. But I'm also trying to figure out what body I want for her, and even though there are a few I'm considering, choosing the right body is really hard!
I really love the 2d doll body with the extreme hips, but I'm not sure if she will look too small next to my 66cm boy. On the other hand, she has a really cute face so I have a feeling that it might actually add to her beauty if she is that small.
The dollzone body is also really pretty and I've read that there are other people who have tried this hybrid before (I haven't seen any pictures though.
Guu doll has a fairly inexpensive sd girl body and I think the measurements might be alright as well, so that's another one I'm considering.
I kinda like the maskcatdoll body as well but I would love a very slim waist so it won't look weird if I put her in corsets. (But then again, if it's possible with a certain body I would be alright with making a corset waist so I can switch that around with the original lower torso piece)
Then there are the luts delf body and the type 2/3 senior delf girl body that I really like...


I really don't know what to go for, so if there are other hybrids that might work or if someone knows which of these bodies I already have on my list might work (or might be a horrible choice) please let me know! Choosing is not really one of my strongest points.

 

The last LOVE body is 62 cm and wears I think sd16 sized clothes? It may need a little modding for the body is somewhat 'clumsy'. But I love the lines of it.
If you can find an old Dollzone 65 girl body - may be a nice fit. Or maybe an impldoll body? There are different ones over 60 cm and under 300 dollars. Don't know what colour you should get from them though.

She's on a Resinsoul 60cm body in NS. The resin match is really good! I've blushed both the head and the body in greyish tones so she looks a bit paler this way.
I think the body feels really tall compared to my other SD girls who are all under 60cm.

 

She is beautiful! Did you get the normal pink skin for the Resinsoul body? Also does the body fit well with the head? I've been trying to find another body for my Flora.

 

The resinsoul body is NS. I think the fit is good. I've placed a small piece of plastic wrap between her head and neck to allow the head to tilt in certain poses instead of bobbing back all the time but I don't think it's and issue with just this body, I use this method with some of my other sd girls too.
I found a photo of my marcellina before I blushed the body and the head (warning for resin boob showing):



The head is only slightly pinkier than the body. If "normal skin" was always this pale I wouldn't have such a negative attitude towards it! xD

 

CorpseofBeauty, DIM resin is so pink, you might have trouble matching Luts. My Luts dolls are kind of older, but they all faded to ivory pretty quickly and don't match my DIM resin at all.

 

@suruni Wow, she looks stunning!! What a natural beauty, the wig suits her really well, too! And I never thought Resinsoul could work so well with their slim shoulders, but it turns out to be such a lovely hybrid. She looks so elegant.

@thessalyrose Thank you so much for the heads up! I have a head with yellow undertones on a pinker body and every time I give him a new face-up it's a pain to accurately blush the head to match the body because of that. It's such a subtle difference when you see him... but those can sometimes need the heaviest blushing! I think I'll keep luts as an "if all else fails" in that case, thanks for your help. :-)

Wow! This is sad news!

My very first bjd was a DIM Persia back in 2006. I always wanted a Danbi, but he was discontinued before I could get him.

 

I know. I never got to own a Love-sized one. I hope the sculptor(s) turn up elsewhere.

 

WOW! I return back to the hobby, only to find out that DIM's closing down! How sad is that!

I have a few custom sculpts from them from back in the day, and I have to admit, I love them, but they don't all have bodies yet.

would any of you happen to know marcellina’s name in korean? im running a group order through DiM’s site and insta to try and get her available, and it’d be useful in getting attention and tracking progress, as there are a lot of Q&A’s in korean and i cant tell if any are requests for her or not.

 

Hello guys, I have a DIM kassia, and I´m thinking in get a MYOU doll 1/3 body for her(I see photos of the resin match and seems very good) . Doll Parts, MYOU Doll - BJD, BJD Doll, Ball Jointed Dolls - Alice's Collections

What do you guys think?
Any one have DIM Love hybrids?

 

My Bellosse is on a Volks SD body which is a great match proportion-wise, her neck measures 9 cms which is what your MYou link says that body has also- not sure if Kassia has the same size head/neck attachment dimensions? Volks resin is quite yellow compared to the DIM pinkish NS, so the MYou Pink might be your best match

I have a hybrid Love doll, a Alucard from Hellsing MNM. He's on a 2014 Mirodoll 68cm boy body, currently. I'm not sure if I'm going to keep him on this body.

I´m really confused regarding skin tones, some people say pink other normal for the myou body.

kassia have a head size of 22.8cm, but don´t know about her neck

 

I want to say Bellosse and Kassia have the same neck size. Mine are both modded, but I think they originally did.

 

My Kassia is on a Supiadoll 65 Double Jointed Body, the match is really nice, but I don't have a photo (the head is 9 years old and body 1 year old only)
My Marcellina is on a Dollzone NB56-001 body, the two are about the same age.
