Oh yeah, DF-H's lead time has been around 7 months both times I've bought from them. Somehow my vampire Qing Lang is still bald, and my Scylla has been in his "temporary" wig for going on two years, so you're ahead of the game!

 

Does anybody here have a Beilan?

I'm in desperate need of help for head measurement as I did a blunder and ordered a custom wig before I got the doll

Has anyone received their new 68cm (ver II) and/or their new 72cm (ver II) male bodies yet? I was wondering if the measurements are true (it is my experience that in many cases the measurements on the site are at least 2-3 cm off, especially height-wise )

 

Hello again, it's been a few months lol
Wanted to just ask if the 1/3 male optional hands should be fitting the 56cm body like this (pic under spoiler)? The wrists are bigger compared to the default hands it came with (default on the left), so it looks like they're too big.
(Ignore the resin match, the colours didn't work out as well as I hoped)

I have the 56cm body too and got the jointed 1/3 hands for it and they're also too big which was a bummer since I really wanted a doll with jointed hands :') I've been wondering if the female hands would have been a better fit but never got around checking the size of them.

I do have a few pairs of female hands on order via alice's collections, but by mid-April it'll be 7 months since I ordered... I don't know if this is a normal wait time for DF-H or if I need to contact alice's collections...
The hands are for my AS doll, but once they arrive I can check them on the DF-H body

 

I finally got my boy "Janus" face upped, body blushed, and his own wig and eyes and I have to say he's looking pretty good.

Was wondering if someone owns myou doll BJD's in NS and could compare it with doll family H? Wanted to get dfh hands for my myou doll/doll leaves and was wondering if normal pink is the closest resin match or I should go with white.

 

I am planning on getting some for my Myou girl too.

I posted a comparison here between Myou White and Normal to DollFamily-H white and normal yellow if that helps. Myou's normal and DollFamilyH normal yellow are pretty good match. But my Myou is the normal skin not the normal pink. edit: hahah I saw Swampruler just linked the same post while I was writing.

 

I think the Myou normal pink will be a good match for DF-H normal pink. I'll try to get some dolls out for a comparison.

To be honest my plan is to try as much mix hands as possible with my doll leaves NS and Myou. I have doll leaves coming in NS and had a kind soul compare doll leaves to myou for me, and they are pretty close. So now I'm trying to figure out what kind of hands would be the best match for both of the girls if it's even possible. I found some comparisons of doll Leaves NS to dfh normal pink and they looked close so I thought that normal pink from dfh would work with Myou normal too.

Looks like normal myou is closer to normal yellow from dfh than to dfh normal pink.

 

Myou has both normal and normal pink. The normal is a creamy tone closer to yellow than pink.

Anyone know how DF-H normal yellow compares to Fairyland normal? I already know their normal pink is much lighter and pinker

 

I can help with this, the body in the picture is df-h's normal yellow, headcap is from my Honoka who is some months old, foot is from minifee body that was made in 2012 if I remember correctly (=it has mellowed due the age while the headcap hasn't)



Pic was taken under neutral color ringlight since my room is otherwise so dark that you'd be seeing vague blob only in the picture otherwise. ^^;

Overall, I'd say it's not a bad match, fairyland is bit pinker and darker but I think in natural light you probably wouldn't really notice anything is too off + the mellowed foot to be looks even closer so it would age to match even better. Though to be fair I don't know how the Df-h body will age yet since it's under a year old too.

 

Does anyone have a photo of the 58cm girl body with the large bust? In their photos, they only show a complete doll in the medium bust, and the large bust is so much larger I am having trouble visualizing what it will look like on a complete doll. (27cm vs. 24cm.)
I am looking for a realistic and mature-looking body around this size (most bodies in the upper 50s look like young teenagers.) It's for body for a Magi's Chau Lai which 19.5cm and IMO, a very realistic sculpt and a woman's face. Thank you!

@Cloudedmind oh he's absolutely stunning his face is everything i could hope for and the 68cm body look amazing, i've been really impressed with doll family bodies before and this one defiantly looks like it poses great i'm so excited to get my boy i'm hoping he ships out soon

 

What are your thoughts on this body? It looks very promising in your pictures as far as posability is concerned. We're waiting for that body too, I think. Maybe not so long now anymore^^

 

@Enchiridion You're welcome. Yeah, DF-H is quickly becoming one of my favorites in regards to posing.

@Mandagore I would say the body is a pretty good poser. Sometimes the knees and elbows want to pop out of place when trying to engage the double joint, but if you just push at the peanut itself, it'll engage.

The chest and belly locks work well, even if not very aesthetically pleasing when in use.

The one negative is the mobility of the head on the neck at least with the Lu Xian head, the range of motion isn't great. I tried other doll heads I have on the body and they had good range of motion. So, head mobility will likely depend on which head people end up using with the new body.

 

Really great photos for demonstrating posing, I wish all doll makers tool photos this detailed!

@Cloudedmind Thank you very much for giving us your opinion, seeing as you are somewhat of a doll mobility buff^^ That sounds good to me! And if all else fails, one can always mod a head/ neck for better mobility. But honestly, I too was wondering why they put those holes in his upper torso joint, as they become visible when he moves... it really marrs the aesthetic I think (ours is going to be a dancer character, he got the ballet feet with the body).

 

Thanks! Yeah, one of the reasons why I try to take pictures the way I do is because so many companies don't. Artsy dramatically lit photos are nice and all, but some clear shots of a doll should also come standard.

You're welcome! While the holes aren't pretty, they do allow him to slouch forward pretty deeply, as the holes allow the elastic extra moving room. I may eventually get around to doing a comparison of the body with the DF-A 68cm body.

 

Oh, I see, I hadn't thought of that. So that makes sense then. The old aesthetic versus function problem^^ I have no problem with that as long as it makes sense, all the designers have to compromise somewhere...

 

I got my second DFH secondhand and I'm in love! But I must say, I expected the yellow to be very yellow, but irl it's even more yellow than I expected. Which, gladly, suits my character so it's fine.

Hi everyone! I’m still waiting on my Xiao Chan. I have gotten a pair of eyes for him that are most likely place holder ones. I think I’ve found another pair I will like better, but before I order, I would like to know what size eyes people use for him. BJDivas say 12-14mm. I typically use 14mm for my SDs and 12mm for MSDs and Yos. But since he is 1/5 scale, I worry that 12mm may be a tad too big for him. I tend to go a size smaller than the recommended size, so my dolls don’t look like they have big puppy doll eyes.

So I would like to ask, if anyone here has a Xiao Chan, can you show me what he looks like with 10mm? Or at least 12mm? That way I can determine if 12mm will work if I should go 10mm. Thanks!

I don't know if you mean Fairyland white, but switch rosy white is like a very very pale normal tone with pink undertones, so I don't think it's gonna match any of Fairyland resins.

 

The normal skin of fairyland could match with normal skin of doll family ? Thank you so much

 

After over 14 months, my DFH Chad finally arrived.

 

Our LuXian twins finally escaped China! It will be a bit until they get painted, but we are super pleased with them so far.
Absolutely garbage picture, but whatever.

Took a little wrangling, but I managed to get them to share the clasping hands.

 

@St. James That's a really neat way to se the hands. Are these the twins that'll replace your Roderich twin characters?

 

Yep, I've still got both Roderich heads, repurposed as different existing character. We've been wanting an excuse to buy anything sculpted by Mori9.

 

Oh man, and I thought my 10 month wait had been long. Glad you finally got your doll though!

 

I hope she'll continue to make more heads that are more accessible.

So anyone looking for a match to Switch or another company they have samples for will be fine, but I'm going to have to find another method to get my custom body.

Is there a list of what samples DFH does have on hand? I know both Morolab2 and Miracle doll for example match pretty well to Switch colors. We might be able to find close enough matches at least for things based on what they do have.

does anyone own a female 58/63cm body? i'm really curious how big the big and medium chest actually are

 

I was wondering if anyone had both of the male 72cm bodies and could comment on their definition. I really want the height of the 72cm for an incoming head, but the version 1 seems to be a bit too ripped in their store images, and the version 2 seems a bit too soft, but I am wondering if this is just courtesy of the blushing and lighting in their store images. In a perfect world I would have the definition of either of the 68cm male bodies, but with that bit of extra height.

Do the 72 ones store images reflect their actual definition or is it slightly different? Or should I look more into other brands? I do like the Dollstown 18 and the DF-A 70cm but the lack of the extra torso joint has me a bit hmm

 

Anyone know if DF-H normal pink compares to 2D Doll normal pink?

 

DFH pink is darker than 2d Doll pink, that's a little more yellow. I thought I had comparison pics but I don't, I'm gonna take one later.

I've finally ordered YouGuang and YiZhong on a layaway with Clover Singing, excited to receive them hopefully sometime this autumn!



I ordered them with faceups shown in photos, in pink resin (also shown in photos), however will do different outfits. I might order the hand-packs that fit them also. I selected the 2.0 68cm body without the waist joint, as waist joints mostly tend to annoy me instead of improve my or the doll's life.

He's currently in temporary clothes, as soon as I get the chance I'll order him a red and black Fantasy Hanfu, and some eyes that fit his character more.

I bought mine from her Etsy store, but now she only sell through her Instagram account. She sells a lot of cool wigs like that, but since they are custom made you need to measure the head!
