Doll Family H Discussion

I spent a good while on my break yesterday trying to look for any owner pictures of him using his Chinese characters for his name, but I got no matches. I did, however, paste it into Google Translate to make sure I grabbed the "Long Xiu" correctly, and his name translated to "Repair"! No wonder I kept getting pictures of unrelated dolls on Baidu! XD

 

I'm majorly on the fence about getting this new (ver. 4) body, I've been in love with it ever since it came out but it's such an odd size that I'm still apprehensive about getting him... I've decided against buying it with the head since I'm not totally in love with any of the heads in this body's size range.

Usually I'd wait, but this event is too good. DX

Do they have events like this often? I haven't really been keeping an eye on them closely until just recently...

... Aaand if I had just waited longer I could have gotten the head sculpt I wanted. I'm an idiot, I need to learn to wait on things like this...

Does anyone know what Faceup B means? I'm thinking about getting Takumi but $110 seems steep for a faceup so was wondering what the B faceup will look like. Do they not give examples anywhere?

 

When did you order? I suppose it depends on the manufacturer, but I've found acbjd to be super helpful with changes. You should contact them

I read somewhere that Face Up B was like the older dolls
for example Linfeng, 45cm Boy, Doll Family - BJD Dolls, Accessories - Alice's Collections

 

I've been trying to find pictures of Yan Xiao because I really like his face, but there aren't many! I would like to see how the head looks on the body or any body, but you can't see that in the promotional pictures. Has anyone gotten this head? Is it well balanced? I suspect from pictures I do see, that the head sits way too far forward, like it's attached to the neck from the back of the head or something. This could easily be due to short focus or some other anomaly of photography though. Is it a new offering? I'm wondering why nobody has taken photos of him

Just ordered a Luo Yunci head that I want to put on a Dollshe body. It's so hard to find owner pictures of these dang dolls. The super common keywords in the company name aren't helpful lol. Have a couple questions:

1. Are we still getting 7ish month wait times?

Hello! Can anyone help me with measurements? I am putting a big order together from AC because Doll Family H is on sale. I want Bei Lie as my first boy doll! I can’t find specific measurements for wig size and eye size! Anyone know? Especially the eyes... thanks!

 

I have Xiao Xin, which I believe is a boy, and can measure later. I believe in the meantime it's size 8-9 . Mine will be a girl It's like, if you want a sassy girl, ya gotta use a boy head, LOL

 

DF-H has released two new 68cm boys and they're gorgeous! YouGuang in particular looks like a bigger version of Nan Xing, I'm in love.

 

Omg, I love them! DF-h is becoming a new favorite for me, all their recent faces have been so expressive.

These two have a really comedy-and-tragedy vibe in the duo pictures of them... cute

 

You Gaung really does look like supersized Nan Xing! He's so cute! DF-h is so on point lately.

 

Muu, I asked about if my boy has shown up yet. I put in the request to order him mid-November along with a Miracle Doll girl. BJDivas said they were just shipped their October orders, so they expect him to show up fairly soon. My girl also hasn’t shown up yet, so at least nothing is sitting at the dealer’s. So they might be about a five month wait right now? Someone brought up that Christmas and Chinese New Year were also during this time, so maybe later orders will be faster.

 

When will my son return from the war......... anyway this wait is killing meeeeee

 

My previous DF-H order I made (in 2017) took a while too, around 4.5 months. I think 4 to 5 months, maybe even 6, is the norm for them.

 

Hello everyone! Does anyone know if sunshine skin and tan are different colors? And if so which is darker?

 

Another question, does anyone havea doll family h 72 cm male body? If so can you measure how tall his neck is for me?

 

I don’t know which is which, but I do know that DF-H has two resin choices for it. I’ll quote BJDivas:

Nothing beyond this was specified for the colors, but I chose the imported resin, so we’ll see how it looks when I get him. I ordered a 70cm boy, so if the prices are consistent with your choices, then the difference may be the type of resin.

 

@Pandy That's strange, does DF-H now offer a normal resin tan? When I ordered my boy, the only tan choice they had was the imported.

 

Not sure, unfortunately. If I search for their resin colors, the pictures only show the one color of tan.

 

By any chance would anyone have a Doll Family H Liaofeng? I'd love to see him in something other than the promotional photos, since he's currently my best bet for shelling a character that I'm looking to have a doll cosplay as...

 

I'm 95% sure I'm gonna go with a Doll Family-H 42cm Girl Body Ver. II for my floating Peak's Woods head I'm going going to get. I just think it's one of the most beautiful 1/4 bodies, and it's in my price range! I'm probably going to wait for them to have a sale though, as the head won't be here until march of next year anyway (I just ordered it and my whole order is on a 4 month layaway)

If anyone has any picture of that body, I'd love to see!

Does anyone know what neck circumference Doll Family H practice head and Xiao Xin head would fit on? I ordered one of each and was thinking about maybe getting bodies for them..

 

I’m gonna assume since they’re doll family h, that the Xiao Xin is going to fit on something with a 10cm neck, just like their 62cm bodies. I don’t know about the practice head because I can’t seem to find it so I don’t know what scale it is.

 

I could use some help identifying a body I think might be a DF-H body. Sadly there isn't much to go on in the picture other then a piece of the torso that's showing and the hands.

If you scroll down towards the bottom, the body I'm interested in is the one that the grey Soom Heliot head is on. The caption above mentions Popo68, but I do not believe that the Heliot head is on a Popodoll 68 body. From every picture I could find the hands don't seem to match, and the torso sculpting also doesn't seem to match, but that's harder to tell because of angles, and the picture being a bit blown out around the torso.

I then checked out some of the other bodies that were mentioned as models throughout that whole picture series. The closest one I could find was the DF-H62cm body. From company pictures and a youtube video I watched the shape and placement of the fingers appear to match up well with the ones on the body I linked to. The body also appears to have a bit of a pinched waist look similar to the one in the pictures.This is the main reason why I'm interested in finding out what body that could be as I love the way it looks in clothes. I also really like the hands.

So, is there anyone who happens to have the 62cm body that could possible chime in? Or just anyone else with an opinion. I've been staring at this picture for two days now, and I think I'm starting to go crossed eyed.

 

He’s finally here! My tan Long Xiu. I had to hunt him down at the PO super early this morning. I am not a morning person.
He’s so beefy! He’s absolutely perfect, and the only issues I have with him are a matter of preference, not because of a flaw. I’m so happy to see his faceup is close to what is shown in company photos too! He is the imported tan choice I was given, and on the 68cm body which looked less beefy in the photos, but is still beefy as heck. He also came with jointed hands, but I am going to need help with those, because I think Thor himself strung him. D:

@Pandy congrats! I hope this doesn't sound creepy or anything but I've been eagerly awaiting your Long Xiu's arrival too XD I just don't know of any other owners and I was eager to see what he looked like in tan, too. He's gorgeous and his faceup really does look like the promo pictures (I've heard DF-H can be a bit hit or miss with faceups so I'm glad!).

He’s downright impossible to find pictures of online, so I plan on spamming him a bit to at least relieve some of that before I go back into my quiet crab cave of hiding again.
He’s strung really tightly, I have to say. So tightly, I can’t get his head off to try eyes, so I had to attempt to work around that s-hook. I did find that he suits 10mm pretty well, but I tried 8mm and I like the size of the iris better, even though they didn’t fill the eye wells. I was suuuper hoping he would suit my large bounty of 12mm and 14mm eyes. I have a few eye molds though, so I’ll make him temporary eyes until good ones are ordered. He’s also so tight, I can’t put his jointed hands on yet. I also realized I’ve reached the tipping point in 70cm clothes. I’m all out. D:

 

Pandy, I hate it when dolls arrive strung too tightly. That's why I always have extra string around so that I can re-string my dolls when this happens. Re-stringing is easy and just makes it easier to handle the dolls.

No, that's why I'm so annoyed! I ordered a blank head with only one of the teeth parts

 

I finally got the time and energy to take a few more pictures of my Long Xiu, who I’ve named King. He is a bit of a pain in the butt. His one eyelash kept coming out when trying eyes, so my friend tried gluing it back in place, but that ended up with me just getting frustrated and pulling out the lash to try again. Then some paint came off where the lash was, so she had to re-paint the inside of the lids. Then the lashes kept falling out again when trying to re-glue them in later, so he has one lash for now, and that one is drooping again. He needs a lash overhaul. This was after He revealed that his stringing is not so super tight as I thought, I just couldn’t pull it hard enough until my arthritis subsided a little. Also, he wouldn’t take any eyes except my friend’s Masterpiece eyes. He has a pair on order in grey, but he’s in green until they come in. King, what are you doing to me? Making me feel both old and poor. Here’s a picture of him. It is linked to the album with three other pictures at the same angle, being only mildly useful to those interested. I’m going to go put on my Aspercream and sew something onto all my 70cm pants to keep the crotches closed.

Is the tan resin imported translucent resin or just plain opaque resin? I can't tell from the picture.

Sorry his eyelashes gave you such a bother, but I'm glad he didn't turn out to be too tightly strung for you.

 

I'm in total sympathy! Lashes are such a pain!! I'm curious if he can wear Alice's Collection off the rack clothes? Despite all that, he is a cutie

 

He is opaque resin, but it is also the imported resin. BJDivas said the imported was stronger, so I took a chance. So happy he is not translucent!
He is wearing off-the-rack 70cm clothes. Most of my other 70cm boys swim in them because they are so skinny, but he fills out the waist quite well. I’m pretty happy about it. I do believe the jeans he is wearing are from Alice’s Collections, I bought a few pairs from them a while back when they had them as a $10 special.

 

Oh thank you so much, @Pandy I have the event head from acbjd incoming (doll family A) and really like this body, but it'd be so much nicer if I could get clothes easily

 

I’ll dress him in my other clothes then to see if there are any problems. I bought a few pairs when I was desperately searching for a pair my Dollshe could wear, so I hope to help. He’s wearing the first 70cm shirt I grabbed for him. His shoulders are a bit broad and made pulling on the shirt a little difficult, but it did work in the end. He’s easily the beefiest of my 65-70cm dolls. I do like this body quite a bit too, I might see how it works with some of my other heads.

Edit- So I tried on most of my other 70cm boy jeans that I know I either picked up from AC or MoC. There were three pairs he did not fit.
This pair were too big on him, so shocking. They hung down around his butt, giving a great saggy pant look if paired with underwear, but in general, too big around his waist and the legs were a bit long too. I might try them on my IOS 80 body some day.
I am not sure where the other two pairs of jeans were, but one was labelled M3Studio. There was a lighter, thinner fabric pair and a darker, thicker pair, but they are two of my favorite pairs of jeans for my dolls. I feel like they might be a blue pair of these jeans and these. They fit great on my Dollshe Pure body, but don’t button without a struggle on King. One pair has a button on the fly though, and that one does button even though the top doesn’t, allowing King to pull off the “sexily unbuttoned pants” look. That body is gorgeous.
So far, my cheap button-up shirts have fit him, despite his broad shoulders and chest. I also have to say that I haven’t done a lot to buy clothes for my boys for the past few years. I don’t have much from after Mint on Card shut down, so I can’t give input on the clothes from, say, Another Dimension or Endless on Alice’s Collections. Most of the clothes money went into the girls. Dollfie Dreams are adorable money sinks.
I just noticed that all those pants are on sale. Looks like my boys are getting a wardrobe infusion on payday. They’ll need more shirts too.

@Pandy He looks so good! I love his "totally done with it" expression, and in casual modern clothes he has a much more youthful look than in the official pictures. That's too bad about the lashes, but lashes are just a pain in general. My DF-H boy's eyelashes came out quite easily too, so I guess the company just doesn't glue them in very securely.

Surprised that the imported tan is opaque now; I ordered my boy in the imported tan but it's translucent.

@IngieBee Unfortunately I'm pretty sure they don't share resin colors; not sure what the full story is but DF-A and DF-H don't really have any connection anymore. I think that DF-H actually shares colors with Doll Legend?

I want to buy DF-H body (65 cm boy body), and tempted to get it from clover-singing Clover singing doll base - Powered by ECShop i think i've read somewhere that clover-singing is legit dealer, but i want to make sure first. Is it really a legit BJD dealer? or maybe anyone have bought DF-H doll from them?

Riezyoe, the person running Clover Singing used to sell dolls and stuff on Ebay under the name Dolls Singing. It's a shop run by Jeeryama, and I always use to buy from her. She was great! I haven't bought anything from her new shop, but I always had good shopping experiences when she was on Ebay. She is totally legit.

And, the DF-H 65cm boy body is a favorite of mine. You won't be disappointed.

Hello DF-H thread! I had a question about jointed hands on the bigger boys. Sometime last year I received my 65cm body with a pair of their jointed hands as a gift, and they gave me the 70cm pair instead of the 1/3 pair. While they do look a bit big when his wrists are naked, they're not so bad to make a fuss over. I wanted to know if anyone had a 65cm body/boy that had the 1/3 hands and tell me if they were too small or just right? I'm just wondering if DF-H thought that going up a size instead of down was a better move. I'm not sure why I didn't ask sooner rather than later...

 

@crappyshappyshaw , I don't know the answer, but I like larger hands, for some reason??? And I put Impledoll large size jointed hands on their smaller body because I really didn't like the small hands he came with, and I thought it looked great, even if the wrist ball sat higher??? Not sure if that helped???
