I stand corrected. Now we are all DOOMED.

I already have two Adas and I'm planning to get one of the earlier Russells from a local friend, but I'm not planning to permanently swap heads, though I'll probably do it for some fun. I'll be sure to post some photos!

 

Is it bad that I'm already making plans on how I want to mod them? I think Russel would look better with a sort of fox-like muzzle... and I already know Ada's antlers are going to turn into steampunk headwings.

 

I can really picture that fox muzzle on Russel! I need to check Ada's foot size. I'm picturing an extensive collection of shoes in sets of four...

 

is there any difference between the red and green russels or is it just the face up colouring?

 

Just the painting weird-doll-grl. I'd like to know what Russel's tail is like in real life. Is it solid? Or hollow? Or a curved piece of resin? It seems that Ada's feet are even tinier than I thought. I haven't found measurements, but I'm told that they're about the same length as a pukifee's feet.

Edit: Sorry, Ada's feet are in between pukipuki and RealPuki feet in length, 1.6cm x 0.5cm apparently.

I was browsing Alice's Collections and saw they have eye grab bags... I think that after I have some more money and before Ada & Russell get here, I might just have to get one and leave their eye color up to chance!

 

Charlotte Sometimes from the pictures the Russell body tail looks curved. I have decided that a Russell-headed Ada is coming to live with me. I love that head! And the quirky four-legged body will be fun to play with. Now to pick a skin color...

Ah, I know that feeling. Still, at least the paycheck is coming! I'm having to face the fact that if I buy any more dolls this year, my house won't be getting an air-conditioning unit by summer. And if we have to live through another Australian summer like the one we just had with no air-con, my family AND my dolls might just melt! Damned priorities!

 

I sold my Ada a while back because she didn't really fit with my collection, but now that she's been released again, I feel myself wavering. I really love the way she looks, and she still won't fit in with my collection, but I'm super tempted to buy her again! What to do~ What to do~

 

Buy her again! That way you can sell her again if it doesn't work out. But no regrets of not buying and letting her pass by!

My hybrid Ada Russell probably will look out of place with my collection, but I'm too charmed to care!

My biggest concern is what they will wear.... I love how Russell's head has those big foxy ears so I won't need a wig!

After having the weekend away from a computer to think on it without looking her up online every other hour, I pretty much came to the conclusion that I should get her again~ As much as she doesn't fit with my crew, she's just too cute and unique for me to pass up! I just need to keep telling myself that she doesn't have to be included in my photostories so it's okay if she doesn't match~

Hi Stratolily! When I got my Hilary, DC emailed me that she took 14mm. She still has her original peepers that she came with so I don't know what size they actually are

Actually I emailed DC this morning to ask them about shipping cost to my country (hope they reply me soon, yay!), but I forgot to ask them about her eye size I want Hilary to be my Dante's (LF Shiwoo) playmate, I think they will look so sweet together! And your girl looks so lovely in your profile pic, congrats on her!

 

Does anyone know where I might find info on making overalls / dungarees to fit the Ada body? There seem to be plenty of dresses that fit, but I want non-gendered/ boys' clothes as well. No idea how to make four-legged overalls.

Anyone know if Russell uses the same eye size as Ada? I want to order eyes with my hybrid so it'd be good to what size. I can get 10mm flat backs if that's what fits best.
Should be able to order in about a week!

 

If Russell has the same size as Ada, then they are 8mm. There is barely room for them in her head as it is, so I doubt 10 mm would even fit.

 

So I regretted not buying Ada the first time and now Im so getting her! No idea how Im going to style her But Ever since I got to hold her at a doll meet like a year ago Ive wanted her xD

How hard is she to re-string if I want her to have the two legs instead of one though?
Ive never restrung a doll at all so the thought scares me.

 

I think I have some 10mm in my Ada so they might work, especially if they're flat back

 

Oh yeah, duh! Flat back probably would fit. The stems are what gets in the way with the glass eyes I'm using in my Adas. There is no extra space in that tiny head!

 

Ill have to make sure I get flat backs then, thank you!

 

Hi, I'm thinking of the Doll Chateau baby body for a dwarf doll to go with my Littlefee boys, but I wondered if anyone had put a smaller head on the baby body and how that worked?

 

fairywhiz - I re strung my Ada on the human body and it was not exactly hard, but frustrating. My biggest issue was getting the elastics started through the holes on their way back up through the various leg pieces. It is a very tight fit, and nothing I had would be thin enough to reach through and grip the elastic so I could pull it through. I finally used a sewing needle and sewed through the end of the elastic and used a magnet to guide the needle out so I could grip the thread and pull.

Anyone else re string their Ada? I would love to know if anyone had similar issues and how they overcame them! Tips greatly appreciated!!

 

I finally put a Doll Chateau Russell on lawaway through MoC. I knew if I did not get him I would regret it forever. He'll fit perfectly in my mess of odd dolls.

 

Ladygabe- I agree with you...I am going to order Russell too..I just have to finish my current layaway next week!

I haven't done Ada yet, but the best restringing tool ever is a piece of wire folded in half that came with my Unoa kit. Loop the elastic through and use the wire like a sewing needle to fish the strings through. I might use thinner wire when I try Ada.

 

I have some super thin jewelry wire hanging around so I will try that and post the results here!

Ive only ever re-strung a doll once and it still terrifies me. (And she was an msd @__@; )

I'd love to know some ideas/sources for clothes for Ada that aren't dresses too. Overalls would be adorable, though I agree - not sure how to make them for all those legs!

Can I request some Ada spam? I got my little one a while ago, but she's still blank. Love seeing what everyone else has done with their Adas - and how anyone's 'solved' the wig thing. It seems that her antlers would interfere with a fit, and I don't have anything small enough for her here to experiment with.

 

I actually have wigs on my Adas right now, but they are both still blank. Size 4 fits well, and the antlers are low enough that they don't get in the way.

 

Ah, thanks so much for the info iwasteela! Guess I can go wig shopping w/o any problem now (except for looking for the right boy wig - I've been trying to figure out why she didn't quite fit into the crew & it just hit me, she wasn't going to - but he will!)


eta: I was wondering if anyone has Tabloach wigs for their Adas?

 

I rechecked just now. I think the wigs I have are both 3-4, one was originally bought for a 27 cm Obitsu, but the Ada head measures right at 4 inches.

 

I'm in trouble... I was playing with my friend's Ada the other night, making plans for mine, when I realized...

Crap. I'm going to need another Ada! I want one that's two-legged AND one that's four-legged!



And on the subject of Ada and her antlers... oh my, those things are getting CHOPPED OFF when mine arrives!

But no worries, I still have plans for them, and making them removeable. I am getting one in the first place because I love her antlers so, and want to carve them!


I also just discovered that Russell's tail is open and hollow in the back. I am even more excited now.

Wow, overalls for Adas would be fantastic, but... how would they go on/off? Maybe snaps along her spine? I'm going to have to think about that. I hope someone comes up with a pattern! That would be so cute!

I can't wait to see the antler mods. Thought about modding mine and putting him on the human body permanently, but dangit the little guy's convinced me to keep his antlers AND all four legs. At least for now.

I haven't figured out the mechanics of those overalls either. Still want a pair - hmmmm mayhaps Spampy could make something work. She did wonders when the Soom hooved tinies first came out so all the little fellas could have pants.

Just sent the payment for my second Ada, so now I will have two! This one will be four-legged, and the one that's still on layaway will be the two-legged one.

My Ada is on layaway and Im so exciteeeeed!

I can try to make an overall pattern when I get her and put an inch scale on it so its printable.
(And short-alls!)
