@EagleVision1999 I think that wig is the perfect color! It goes so beautifully with her faceup and outfit. I love the way you restyled it too…it’s truly adorable on your girl.

 

Hi! I was wondering if anybody could help me with the comparison photo of Doll Chateau K-Body-01 and Dollzone B45-012 (42 cm), or K-01 with any msd girl somewhat shorter?

 

I can do this, I have both bodies at home. Do you need to see them dressed, nude, or both?

 

@IzabethS thank you, I've already got nude dolls comparison elsewhere, so it would be nice to see them dressed and with wigs on (and heads in that case).

 

Does anyone know anything in regards to the Bella 2 doll for the discontinuation event? I'm just confused because they are discontinuing her but regular Bella isn't being discontinued. My understanding is that Bella 2 is just a regular one except with extra wrist and ankle joints. But, it doesn't look like they're discontinuing the K-05 body with those extra joint pieces. So in theory she really isn't being discontinued? Is it just because maybe they don't want to do the Bella 2 fullsets and makeup anymore?

 

Could be.. perhaps either the faceup is too complex or they are having issues sourcing materials for the outfit.

 

I'm wondering this too...but in that case they could just discontinue the fullset option? It's weird.

 

Could someone help me to understand when does the new discontinuation event ends? I can see that dolls can be ordered up to 15th Dec, but Alice's Collections has some nice discounts on the bodies as well and not sure what is deadline.

I am waiting for an older SH Doll Chateau head and ideally would need to have it to compare resins before I get the body. I do not want to miss on the discount though!

And I have just started to fall in love with sculpts that are being discontinued - Cecile was only offered for a little over a year, I'm glad I managed to snatch it back in September.

 

@silmaryel I was kind of confused about when it ends as well as Doll Chateau themselves said the discontinuation is until the 30th of this month, in the original post on Instagram
Just be sure, I made my order with DDE today (after a few years away from the hobby..) to get the little event bat as well.

I ordered Cecile! Well, Cecile’s head lol Plus a full Sharon and Phoenix - If anyone has some pics of theirs to share while I settle in for the wait, I’d love to see them!

 

@M!ndy - I will try to post my Cecile once received - not a very popular sculpt out here! I planned to make them a girl with kid body (extra joints).

Unfortunately discount for the blank bodies was only up to Black Friday, it will be painful to pay full amount, ouch…

I’m thinking my Cecile will also be a girl but since I will have both kid boy and girl bodies with Phoenix and Sharon, I’ll try Cecile on both of those (plus a few other bodies in my collection..) before I order them a body. Until then, Cecile will likely be sharing a body.
I did like Cecile’s original body, but finances could only allow for the head with the two full dolls lol

Oh no! The dates of this discontinuation plus Halloween events and obviously Black Friday was super confusing
Hopefully there will be a winter/New Year event soon? Maybe you can hold out for a body until then?

 

Oh, lucky day, my Cecile has shipped yesterday! Definitely much shorter wait than I expected. Doll was ordered beginning of September, so it's barely 3-months wait. That's amazing! Now let's see how long it will take to ship to my country, plus obvious customs fees

@M!ndy - the body I still need is for another doll, SD size - will snatch it once I receive my second-hand head, but thanks for mentioning winter/NY events, maybe this time timing will be better.

I’m with you 100% on loving this lithe body with it’s elongated limbs. It’s such a Doll Chateau classic, and a big reason I love this company’s dolls. There’s just something so artistic about it. I have the female version on 3 of my girls. Sometimes you just need a bit of that poetic litheness in your life. Your Carter looks perfect on it.

 

@PoeticSoul Thank you! Yes, the lithe body is so cool. So many dolly deals this season and Cupcake Carter and this body won my money.
I think I'm going to make the deer into a llama though and use the antlers on another doll.

 

Oh, now that’s a great idea! I’ve always admired the uniqueness and creativity of your crew, and I know you’ll make excellent use of those antlers elsewhere. The little guy will be perfect as a regular little llama.

 

Yay, I have received my Cecile today and this is the fastest I've received a new doll so far. Also, no customs

I just had to dress her as clothes and wig have been waiting for a few months I was kinda afraid of the pink skin [I'm still deciding which resin color I like the most] but DC is really pale. And I have discovered I really like MSD size and double wrists/ankles joints, but not so much the neck one

 

She's beautiful! Also, you can remove the additional neck piece and just use it as a regular neck!

I will try to figure it out - looks like I need to remove S-hook to do that and I'm afraid I will unstring whole doll in the process Aaand it looks like I'm on a Doll Chateau high...I've just ordered discontinued Bella 2 [I know the regular one stays, but since Bella 2 has only extra wrist joints and no neck or ankle ones, I decided for her + discount ].

She's such a cute and popular sculpt I've been eyeing for a while and I'm really curious on the white skin. I have DZ peach and now DC pink so time to see white!

Well, 2023 looks like a year of customisation and no new dolls

Removing the neck joint is pretty straight forward, but depending on how tightly she's strung you may need another person to help. What you want to do is take her head off and get something sturdy like a chopstick, and insert it in the middle joint of her neck, making sure it sits with the elastic wrapped around it. Carefully slide out the s-hook, and the top part of her neck will pop off. Slide the s-hook back onto the elastic, remove the chopstick, and put her head back on!

Upon checking a few dealers (BJD Divas, Angelesque) and official DC site it looks like regular Bella is also being discontinued? She’s still available for order via ACBJD and DDE though, so it’s confusing!

I ordered mine a few weeks ago, but it is surprising to see such a popular doll to go, I am used to seeing this little lady around.

I'm on a DC spree! I literally can't wait for my Bella-2 preordered in December, so I have bought two weeks ago regular Bella in peach via DDE in-stock dolls She's my first doll in 2023.

Since I'm not based in US, the shipping takes a while, but she's already in-country, just held by the customs. I have clothes, wig and eyes ready for her . Can't wait to see Bella, she's such a classic sculpt.

I want to hybrid a (faceuped) Doll Chateau head on a Dream Valley body. Does anyone know if their resin shades match in the more recent years? Preferably Normal pink or peach. Thank you.

 

It will be beautiful, but neck size of k-18 body is too big - 8 cm. K-11 body is 5,5?

Seems I'll have to find another body option if I want one for a Medusa that isn't her default.


Eta: just looking @ medusa again on DDE & realized why I thought she'd fit - her default body neck size is 5.5, but if u go to her seperate head listing, it says her neck size is 8??

 

Just finished my dear Nicola B faceup today and I’m so in love with her

Oh no! It is a massive one and I hope it means we’ll see new dolls from DC. And some sculpts were not even for that long. (Flora!)

Also surprised to see Y-04 body go? I’d say it’s more popular than 03 with extra neck piece and jointed feets.

No sculpt I’d be missing but feel tempted to snatch Flora head. And Y-04 body in peach? But I already have two in white so it doesn’t really make sense

 

*weeps* they're discontinuing Alva AND Ula! My budget wasn't prepared!

It looks like only a couple of bodies are going so I might be safe just ordering the heads to put aside till I can get a little more cash in hand to buy bodies for them.

I'm surprised to see their k-02 body go as well, it's arguably the most "normal" looking of their male bodies and one of their few actually msd height msd bodies. They've mostly switched over to 50cm there.

looks like Alva and Ula both have a 5.5-6cm neck, which might be a bit tricky to work with as most msd bodies at like 6.5 I think. DC always has such extremely slender necks.

My other problem is I have always wanted a green dc doll and was planning to get Alva in green but now i'm not sure because splurging for a full doll right now isn't really viable.

Super glad I'm safe this discontinuation. None of these are on my wishlist. Good luck to anyone who's dream doll is on the chopping block!

I'm still so bummed I didn't pick up Colin when I had the chance.

 

I'm still salty about missing Hugh. He wasn't even LISTED in their discontinuation list and they discontinued him at the same time regardless -_-

 

I took my dolls down to sort them out, readjust the shelves and decide who doesn't "spark joy" (lol) and Elanora (Bella) was looking pretty worse for wear. Her lips had chipped and were just looking BAD so I redid them in a shimmery acrylic husband has for his warhammer minis lol.
It's gold in some lights and purple in others, quite fun.

I enjoy how sulky and peeved she looks. She's always been a pain for me to pain because she needed a dramatic makeup and makeup is NOT my strong point. But i'm learning, slowly.

Her wig is too big but I love the colour of it on her far too much.

 

Oooh I love her dramatic make up! I think you've done a great job! She's stunning!

Oh man l'm so sad about this discontinuation sale. I really wanted Gladys, but I just purchased a body for one of my floating heads so my doll budget is kind of blown. I wish we got more warning about discontinuation events.

I kinda wish i'd learned more about makeup when I was younger but I guess it's never too late to learn lol.

I'm still arguing with myself over this discontinuation event. I found my original plans for Alva and i'm like "arghhhh"
I dunno. Money is tight right now but I have til the end of the month I suppose. I'll see how I feel in a week or so.
