Hello! I'd like to ask a question. Will this sleeveless downcoat (70 cm size) fit DC A-03 body? Or it will be big for him?

waist: 18cm
AC measurements for 70cm clothes:
shoulders: 13.5cm - 15.5cm

It looks a little short in the length to me, but that's just my preference. I like longer jackets.

Odd question- but I'm having trouble with wigs for my Cyril. What size does anybody else have for him? 7/8? I only have 8/9 in the house and they seem... tooo big? Too something? The shape of his head is really different than my DZ and Luts so idk.

I'm thinking of trying alpaca if I can find somebody on etsy or whatnot with enough good reviews.

Cyril has a 21cm sized head, that's 8.3 inch. He should need a smaller 8-9 wig. Maybe you can commission someone to do a wig for you in this specific size? My Sexta has a selfmade hardcap wig and my other DC dolls have commissioned wigs because all sizes are a bit off.

I just received my Stacy yesterday. My first Doll Chateau doll and I am in love! She stands well and I have no problem posing. I got her with the body henna and I love just looking at her naked body. She will be my goddess Veleda.

Amadeus, I think, will be a sullen sort of bourgeois youth, a royalist Louis XVI type with powdered hair and all, but with a twist I guess, to make him darker and more..well, sullen, sarcastic and melancholy.... But we'll see. I'm in the final six months of design school, so I probably won't have much time for him until after summer -.-'

Wow, I haven't posted in here in foreverO.o. Everybody's dolls are so awesome. Question: I am thinking of giving my A-01 bodied girl different hands, I love the default DC hands but since she's a ghost I'm looking for hands with unnaturally long, spindly fingers. I have the opportunity to acquire a pair of Soom Clozel long-nailed hands, but I can't afford to spend that money and then find out they don't fit. I'm not so much worried about the wrist ball being too large, I can mod that if I have to, but I would like to see how large Soom Supergem girl hands are on a DC A-01 body, especially if they're not too wide. Anyone have a picture they can show me? Bonus if they're white skin^^. Thanks in advance!

 

My Oort arrived! And is finally almost done, face - wise. It took about 500 years to work out her name, though, especially as she arrived and put a stop to all the plans I had for her. She's now called Magdalen

 

My 5Stardoll Dark and Dolores body hit it off, right away. They are unstoppable now, Ohhhh, the trouble I'm going to have with Thaddeus Post.

 

I finished the neck painting and some body blushing. Thaddeus is a happy boy and a wicked one.

A few days ago my first large Dollchateau boy arrived. I'm so in love with him, his body is so awesome (especially the toes). But unfortunately a small piece of his second wing was missing, so I couldn't attach it. Anyway, he is one of my first pictures of Cedron, my DC Kevin:

Been looking through (lurking) this thread again and there are some very beautiful dolls on here. I think I will soon be getting a large dc boy for my vampire character. SteamWitch you are partly to blame for this as seeing your boy makes me want to move this up! As you know we have another doll to pay off yet here I go again. I am probably going to get a Mephisto on the Delores body in white. As there are other doll things I need to do he could be on layaway for a while and then be blank for a bit. I have not seen the dc white in person but have heard it is very white. My only fear is that white dolls can be more difficult to photograph. I really need a pair of blinkers to stop me from looking at any other dolls but I can't seem to help myself.

 

I'm so sorry Kavarr *cough, &^*% enabler*. They are lovely dolls, I've been drooling over them since I first saw Cyril. I've seen @Lord Helmet's bird skull female (reclining) at the Christmas Meet. She is very pale don't remember if she is white, but she also has body blushing so her characteristic DC features are obvious.

 

I ordered him! SteamWitch you are a bad bad enabler! I have wanted a delicate elegant looking vampire boy for a while and could resist no longer. I ordered the Mephisto head on the embossed Delores body in white. I am getting him blank and will have plenty of time to think about his blushing etc... He is going to have long silvery white hair (got a free choice of wig from Jeeryama) and should look very ethereal. I really love those long thin delicate looking bodies

After having these lovely buff Sols the DC is so different but I just love it and it fits Thaddeus' character so well.

 

I really can't wait now. I will be sending him of for face up but not for some time so watch out for blinding whiteness in photos. Your Thaddeus looks wonderful Steamwitch. I love the embossing on his chest/neck and it's given me some planning to do. I haven't decided what color it will be yet but it's sure to have some silver. What size eyes are people using in their Mephisto heads? I want to fill the eyewell (don't like gaps!) but not have the iris too large. I want to be able to see a bit of white.

 

Kavarr, thank you, with his skin tone I though copper would be the best, but with a white skin silver will be lovely.
I don't have a DC head so I can't help with eyes, but I don't like gaps or too large iris' either. I know it's too early to get excited about him but I am excited for you!

 

I currently have 12mm in my mephisto. They gap. But I like the size of the iris. If I ever get around to it, I may look for oval eyes.
The mephisto eyewells are beveled for 14mm, but the iris is too large for me, so I will try different 12mm or just get some white sticky tak. ~_^

Thanks for the photo aernath. Those eyes look good. I might just get a custom pair of 14mm with a smaller iris size then. It is so useful to know what fits. I can't help myself and like to have eyes waiting for their arrival. I also need to order some white putty stuff. A few dolls I have came with green putty and it drives me nuts when I take a bunch of photos then realize you can see a bit in the corner. Your boy looks beautiful! I have never seen one irl and it's really hard to find owner pics that clearly show his face.

 

Thanks! He's a bit of a WIP. He came with the faceup, that I didn't order because I didn't really like it. But I gave it a while to grow on me. It didn't, so I wiped it. Except for the lips. I am terrible with doing lips on my faceups, so tried to keep those and I'll do the rest around them.
In the meantime, he looks kind of funny.

I think the blue glass eyes he came with (shown in his first photos) are 14mm.

Great photos aernath. It give me a much better idea how his face looks. I find although pretty the company photos don't show much of his face.
Thaddeus can show off anytime he likes SteamWitch. I love those fingers and toes. Mine will be my first doll with jointed hands or feet.

I am still trying to decide whether to go ahead and order size 14 eyes. The dc site says 18! I like having their eyes ready for when they arrive.

I do wonder if DC is ever going to make a new updated adult female body. I know the DC youth girl bodies with the added joints are about as tall as the old female adult body, but I'd love to see a taller female body from them and some slightly more mature heads.

I'm having trouble with deciding resin color though....for anyone who has had a white resin DC doll for a while, I've got a question for you--has the resin yellowed at all yet? I know yellowing is inevitable, but I was just wondering how mellow (or not) the yellowing is for DC's white resin. If anyone can help me, it would help me so much! Hey guys, I have a question. I was thinking of replacing my A-03 hands and feet with A-01 ones. However, I can't find wrist and ankle joint measurements. Can Someone give me the measurements from a Cyril body, please? Or even a simple comparison would be okay too, because I want to know if the replacements would fit properly. Thanks!

Thank you! Thaddeus is pretty cool too. I love these boy bodies so much. They're just so long and lanky, and Bait's just a cuddlebug.

 

Thaddeus is far from being a cuddlebug. He will let you kiss his feet if you're nice. Still I get my hugs and snuggles in, because I'm the seamstress and you must be good to the seamstress if you want new clothes.

 

I've got one DC doll that is two years old and it is still white as bone. The others are only a year old so not a good test. From photos I've seen the white ones don't seem to yellow too much but it's hard to know the age. Also since only recently have they become such a hot commodity so there's not as many photos from years past to be updated in the present. But you could troll flickr, check dates and then see if they owner has any recent photos of that doll. Hopefully someone who's owned an older one will let us know.

 

It's nice to have at least a little power over him, at least.

As for white resin, I have a bit of white Dollzone from 2010-ish? that has yellowed to a more creamy color. She's not super yellow, but compared to my newer DC whites, she's got a lot more yellow tone to her. I fully expect my newer dolls to mellow out like that over time. Except for Bait, he'll be sealed and full-body airbrush painted. I'll only see the progress of yellowing on him when it's time to redo everything.

And you're right, DC is pretty new. I've been looking through Flickr, trying to find white resin'd dolls, but most of the pictures have color filters on them and stuff. > <; I'll keep looking though. I have a white skin agnes who's a couple years old, and a white skin mona who arrived in January. My agnes has yellowed a bit but thats because she's seen a bit of sun. I can take a comparison picture on monday when I'll be home for the decent light if you'd like

And regarding the joint measurements. Are you looking for the measurement of the ball joint for the feet and hands?

 

There sure are a lot of boys in this thread! I don't understand why the big girls aren't more popular, I absolutely adore my hybrid girl

Yeah, I was going to say that them discontinuing the body probably hasn't helped. I actually sent them an email today asking if they had plan to make a new adult girl body. I don't expect to hear back from them soon though.

You and me both! I had planned to get an Olivia with that body but she won't be the same with the new body. I have a Christina and a Dolores and though I like the new body I would really like to have an older one. I guess more MP stalking for me! Glad I got two of DZ 65's before they went the way of the dodo...

The same thing happened with Dollshe, by the time I was ready for an Ausley they discontinued the body and don't like the new body.

 

What is it with DZ/DC discontinuing all their awesome big girl bodies? (I now have 3 of the DZ 65's... MP stalking ftw!) I'm waiting on the extra-jointed larger girl body for my floating Soom sweet witch head, but ugh! Doesn't anyone else like big girls?

 

Well DC still have the Youth body which is 68cm so that's pretty large. But I like the simplicity of the old body and would definitely want one of those before I would buy another DC girl. Iple has the EID's and those are pretty big but a lot of the interest for larger dolls seems to be male dolls. It'd be cool to get something along the lines of the Mecha Angel size in a female doll.....
