Yea the new bodies do look skeletal to me too. I really think as a concept the new bodies look their best with the extra parts (I ordered mine without, wanted a smaller girl, anyway didn't work for me).
But I wish I still have those jointed hands, I hope someday DC will be kind and sell those hands separately, love those hands!

Do we collectively know what shoes fit these men? Not that I don't love my guys feet...but summer is coming to an end...Some military boots would be ideal. (Preferably less than a pair of human size Doc Martin's but I am not holding my breath.)

regarding the shoes: mine is wearing SDF sized shoes and they fit very nice. YOu have to check the foot size, DC adults boys need about 9,2 inner leight to fit in.

10 months!! did you go through a dealer and/or layaway or something? I'm waiting on a body for a hybrid girl (she's going to look so awesome!!) that I ordered in May and now you've got me worried (maybe I should just bite the bullet and order Hawley's body on layaway now so she's complete by this time next year...)

I went through a dealer and paid in full but the cause of delay was down to company wait times. I think there were a lot of holidays and events going on during his production - it's not an average wait time for DC from what I've seen. I'm excited to see your hybrid girl!

I'm waiting on the 1/3 A-01 body for my Little Rebel Hachi head. She's going to be so pretty, but I have no idea what clothes are going to fit that skinny, skinny body
I'm also planning to get the Y-03 body for my Soom Sweet Witch head (Hawley Crippen) and the 72cm A-03 body for my Simply Divine Harlequin head (Hawley's brother, Caro)

well I am a convert to DC now I am BEYOND happy to have managed to buy the last Y-01 body EVER from dealer's stock yesterday! It's not the A-01 body, so not the Christina from the box opening that brought about my conversion to DC (link on previous page) but I am REALLY hoping Christina's head might fit it? Pleeeeease!? I have looked around but there is just no other head for me than Christina - I love her so much - Does anyone happen to know if her head will a) fit and b) not look stupidly big for the Y-01 body? Many thanks if you can help, before I spend yet more non-existent money on something not on my wishlist

ETA - sorry I know Christina's now classed as 'youth' but I don't know what she was before this week, as I've never looked really - Are the neck sizes of the new 'youth' dolls (the extra joints) bigger to match the old 'adult' 01 body, or has Christina always been classed as 'youth'? Not sure about DC bodies as they seem to have so many of them!

Yes... I agree with that! Youth and adult fusionned 😉 From what I see... imo DC is going to hv all large SD males into their DC adult line.. not sure whether they're going to make all SD girls into their "youth" category or not... looking from the current situation, it looks like that.

(I removed the weird belty thing and they're just cute doc-esque boots. I also got him a pair of the converse style shoes, which look a bit big but I think I can make them work.

What size eyes do you guys feel fit these guys best? I see that DC has stated 18mm on their site, but it seems owners usually fiddle around with different eye sizes to see what works out best. I'd like to get my guy some real nice eyes, but I'd like to make sure I get the best size for him. And to be honest I'm really still a bit of a noob with stuff like this

 

I just found this company not too long after I joined DOA and ordered my first two dolls.
They are all gorgeous and very unique!
I immediately fell in love with Elizabeth and Mephisto.Pheles, I want them both. She is amazing, He is extraordinary.. but my husband has forbade me from buying any other doll till the two I'm waiting on have arrived. I just hope Elizabeth and Mephisto.Pheles are still around come dec/jan.
I also would have loved to get my hands on a Russell but sadly that probably isn't to be.

Has any one dealt with them directly for ordering? I see that they prefer to go through local dealers. If you've dealt with them personally how was it? How was their response times?

Mephisto is so new I doubt they'd discontinue him so soon. I bought him and when he finally arrived, he was even better than I had expected, well worth the wait and the money. I love Elizabeth too, though I really wish they'd release a male spider doll. I hope you can get them someday. Good luck!

 

I always used a dealer because the customs here are very nasty, orders from China/Hongkong are especially terrible. You have to pay a lot of taxes... so I prefer going with a dealer because she arranges everything with the customs and it is a lot cheaper for me.

But I asked DC some things directly through email and they responded very quickly every time, sometimes withing a hour sometimes it took more time, depending which daytime it was. But their english is not the best, hold everything as simple as possible if you ask them something.

(and for Russell: I'm sure that they will rerelease him again, just like they do with Ada ...)

Have any of you dealt with Angelesque lately? I haven't ordered through them before, and it says on their site that DC orders would be placed with DC on September 30th. Do AE usually send out emails when they've placed your order with DC or what happens?

I don't remember getting an email for the order being submitted to DC, but you can always check that in your order page. If you have facebook you can look up Carol's page where she posts updates of the incoming ordered items.

And to come back to the size specific discussion ... have a small wannabe-comparison of DC Adult vs DC kid (hybrid). The kid doll is sitting on the legs.

I've been long thinking about getting a Delores to make into my own little anti-christ superstar I'm a big fan of MM and the DC boys have the perfect creepy look I need for my demon I just don't know which face sculpt to use, but I'm leaning towards Delores because oh his brow shape. I'm such a weird person.

Ahaha thank you! I say "weird" because it seems like people in this hobby prefer cutesy dolls to demons and monsters . I mean, I like some cute dollies (I have a few myself) but I think that I prefer the scary ones and the hardcore horror mods just for the reactions one can get from people

 

Hello! I've been lurking here for a while now, but I've got a question. I have the A-03 body, I love how it looks so much, but I'm having difficulty in getting him to stand, even in a doll stand. He's sueded, but I forgot to tighten his strings when I put him back together again. Would you say they're more stable and able to stand once the stringing is right, or would you suggest I take the time to wire his legs as well? I would like to get him stable before my friend gets her first doll Christina and I start helping with her.

 

If you've sueded him, tightening his strings should help a lot. ^_^
I had a little trouble with mine standing at first, but that's just because he's got those huge mephisto horns.

Those mutiple jointed bodies are terrible when it comes to make them stand. The MSD ones aren't even able to stand with the right stringing + sueding + wiring (except those with more than one pair of legs). The Adult ones are a bit better but.... I think DC string them too tight. I changed the strings in the arms of my Sexta because they snapped together, now they are a bit loose but really better in holding light poses without trying to hit me :/
I tried that with the other strings too but then the doll was too woobly... you have too woobly or to tight and stringing is only a temporary solution for that.

I don't think that the engineering of the bodies is good, it is made to look nice but not to be functional. The older bodies were better when it comes to this. Even though they needed their sueding and wiring as well.

 

Yeah, Nightshade was totally impossible in the arms before I glue sueded him. I did his hips too, which helped. His boots also really helped secure his ankles.

It's been too long since I got him, and I've forgotten if I had to do some string fiddling (he's fine now), but looking back through the photos I took when I took him out to a park, he certainly was doing a lot of leaning and sitting. But there might have been a bit of wind to worry about too though.

I tightened up my Dolores strings A LOT. He stands pretty well now. (Not sueded or wired.) His arms could use some help still.
