lol truth be told i was just doodling a character one day at work, and randomly drew those facial markings. That was when i knew i had to use it on a doll and it ended up being my Jupiter once she arrived. Don't really know what i was thinking at the time of drawing them XD

 

I have discovered a deep and undying need for the Snowborn human fullset in my life. What is it with these dolls that makes them so amazing?

Everyone's dolls are gorgeous, by the way.

 

Hello again! My Dolores finally arrived in February, and got his face-up late March, as soon as the weather allowed. So here he is! I have to say, I'm a little in love. He is so gorgeous - too gorgeous for his character in fact XD. But he is great fun... Now I'm thinking about how I'll make his robes in such a way that they don't hide all his jointy weirdness. His name is Severus. He's based on, um, a young Potions master.



I cropped the photo in such a way as to hide the fact that his wig is actually very long, and I'm debating with myself whether I'd actually cut off the long portion of the hair :/.

 

Nice! Hiding DC joints will be easier because Severus does wear long sleeved robes, mostly. He does have that brooding look down pat. Great work.

 

He looks great! Did you do his faceup? (it's so lovely!)
And I'm way too enamored by those suspenders, do you mind me asking where you got them?

 

@SteamWitch : Thank you! He's entirely too pretty to be a 'real' Severus, but I've decided not to let that bother me :P.

@Girrl : Thank you! The suspenders are from FreedomTeller. I wasn't sure what size to pick, and these turned out to be too long... I'm going to have to shorten them. But I just HAD to have suspenders :P.
Yes, I did the face-up. I can't believe how subtle it looks after all the colour I brushed on, but I'm not sure whether I really wanted it to look less subtle or not.

all my wigs do not fit him, his head is so small for a doll this tall. :/

 

Blank like that he reminds me (showing my age now) of both Red Skelton and Danny Kaye or a cross between the two. So cool, Congrats!

Probably going to be your best bet to find out more about Mephisto. From reading about other people's comments to seeing pictures of him, that would most likely be your best location. Grante,d more people may be able to help you in this thread but a little research goes a long way.

Every time I haul Jolene out for pictures I get nostalgic for the discontinued adult girl body - it was so spindly and graceful, without looking odd (don't get me wrong, I love all the extra jointed bodies too, but hnnng...), and is such a solid poser. I'm so glad I got one when I did!

My December order arrived yesterday... Sexta in green, he's called Thale and I adore him!

It's a shame the small iris kokdoll eyes I bought for him aren't small at all!

 

For years I have talked about wanting my version of a Wraith from the show Stargate Atlantis. I wanted to use a DC Kevin so when the green resin was released I decided the time had come. He is blank and needs custom eyes and clothes altered to fit him properly but I am so happy to finally have him.

Hi! I'm sure this has been asked before, but I just bought a second-hand ws Kevin head that I ADORE, so now I'm wondering what kind of hybrid bodies work with him. I can't afford a DC body at the moment, but I'm afraid finding a body that works with his tiny neck might prove to be difficult. Anyone have one they would like to share?

Yesterday my Snowborn finally arrived and i tried out his body with my Doll Dollzone Deer head and it is a perfect fit. I will have to buy him his own body as soon as possible.

Yes, it does and i am really happy about it. I was desperately searching for the right body for this head since i really don´t like the head on it´s Dollzone original body. I waited 8 months for my Snowborn and never had the idea of this hybrid before until he has arrived. Better late then never

@Skylla I've been wanting to get to the deer head as well as I have a deer butler character in mind, but the original body for the head is to short. Knowing that head fits so well on the A 07 body and presumably the A 08 body is good to know. Now if only DC sold the hoof legs separately.

 

They probably do if you email them! I know they sell the y-04 wings separately if you email them about it.

 

have any of you guys ever tried hybriding a feeple head with the A-04?
i've got a WS feeple head i'd really like to put on an A-04, but i'm not sure about the proportions. it looks pretty good on my A-01, but i want him a little taller and wider, i don't think the A-02 would really suit him that much. i want him to have those extra joints. ^^

 

I just received the dc mephisto.pheles on an A3 body. I wanted the Dolores sculpt but apparently it has the A3 body also. Denver Doll has an event going on which makes it very tempting

 

Quick question if I were to order a blank head from D.C. How long does it take to arrive?

I think I've made a match, Thaddeus moved on and left a perfectly good body behind so my other wizard Aveese took it over. He is pretty but nowhere near the diva Thaddeus was.

Does anyone know where to get the head dress (kind of like antennae) Lilly is wearing on Doll Chateau's website?

 

It is likely that the headdress is a Doll Chateau creation, possibly with a full set. I am too lazy to look it up, but if the fullest it is part of is still available, you would likely have to pick it up to get it. D:

@AdamK If doll chateau makes the headdress the best chance of getting that specific one without making it yourself would be to contact them directly. It may have also just been for fullset photos, as I don't think the fullset comes with the headdress. My Lilly did not come with one.

 

Thanks Pandy and Firecracker. Advert/description doesn't say it's included in fullset. I suspect too that it's a one off piece. I've never seen another one. It may be an interesting project. I used to sew in my younger days though this is a bit more intricate. Looks like it may be kind of like modified ear muffs. Maybe I can hire Dr. Dre to make me one....

I'd rather have the modifications already done . I've received a DC kid Amos at the beginning of the year and I prefer his body type. For some reason, I have difficulties with the top half of the new adult body. Something doesn't 'quite fit' - aesthetically speaking - for me. I feel the sculptor had fun when he made Amos but that it has turned into a job when he created these new four-legged bodies. Though I love the Oswald full set and I am very fond of Lilian's face however sad she looks.

 

I'm in awe of those pants right there! Like...how??? Dang, they're good.

Does anyone have pics of Lilly with factory face up, body blushing and tattoos? Or know where to find some? I've looked everywhere. I'm thinking I'd like to do it that way but would really want to see some pictures other than from the Doll Chateau website.

Out of curiosity: why does DC call the four-legged body with hooves the "elf" body? I must admit, it looks very graceful, but it's not my immediate association with four legs and hooves.

I do see that they have a Youth elf body too, but I found out about it through seeing the adult elf body.

This is my DC Fergus on a A03 body (minus the extra parts and other jointed hands XD)
He is a comic-version of Majima Goro, a character in a Videogame called Ryu ga gotoku (or "Yakuza" in the west)
He has a VERY hard to paint japanese tattoo...but i tried my best
But still i need to sew his outfit...oh boi XD

I don't know this game but from what I could find through google you did a very good job at replicating his tattoo. I'm sure it took a lot of patience and a steady hand to achieve that

Hey, so I'm strongly considering getting an A-body-04. I've heard that the extra ankle parts can be removed, but that doing so messes with the doll's overall structural integrity. If I ever get the body, I'd be interested in removing the extra ankle jointing to make it a sliver shorter. If anyone has removed their ankles, what was your experience with it?
