I can't wait! I could get a shipping notice for my DC Cyril any day now. 10 weeks has passed and I'm super hyped! I got him on the A-body-04 and will be removing the extra wrist and ankle parts.

If anyone has images of Cyril or the body - with or without the extra parts - I'd love to see!

@aernath I certainly hope so! Though I am sceptical, since ordering through a dealer... though at the very least I can be sure that it doesn't get stuck at customs on my end. And if anyhting is wrong, things are easier to sort through!

Thank you for the picture! It does help a bit. It's great to see more photos of the body about, and your dolls are gorgeous too. How do you find the poseability of the finders being? Do they tend to find natural poses easily?

 

They are rather fiddly, and I find I have to pay extra attention to them whenever I dress him ,and for photos. There's always a finger or two going off in some odd direction. But it's also nice to be able to pose them , so it's a trade-off.

 

Is it a characteristic of the Chateau bodies, that they seem so elegantly attenuated? There seems to be a greater stylization with them than with say..Volks. I'm still new to the hobby but I was very struck by how different the Chateau dolls seemed from any other sort. Especially the adult dolls, and the little spider doll? If ever Aubrey Beardsley made a bjd, I think it would be Chateau. Is it easier to find yourself enshelling characters in Chateau dolls? And do you find that the shape of the legs and arms on Chateau dolls alter the fit of stockings, trousers, gloves, and tight sleeves?

 

It is their extra lengthy limbs and skinny bodies that appeal to me. I don't buy girl dolls but I don't like the pear shape of their smaller dolls. Fortunately for me my Thaddeus is on the Dolores body with the intricate embossing or 'tattoo'. He will not wear shirts of any kind and prefers a sarong though he does fit into 70cm pants they are large around the waist, so I sew his clothes.

 

I've got the (sadly) discontinued Adult Girl body and the size mismatch is definitely a challenge. SD13 tops fit just fine, dresses too, so long as they've got fairly full skirts. Her hips are more SID/EDI sized, but the legs are so skinny most pants look ridiculous

 

Yes, it's a characteristic of DC dolls to be long and thin. After years of most dolls looking like Volks' (not putting them down, I have a few myself), Doll Chateau came along and broke the mold, so to speak.
Although DollShes were the first long and thin ones, they weren't quite to the extent that DC are.

 

Does anyone know if a DC adult head will fit a Dollshe body? Specifically the "new" Classic (which seems to be a hair thinner than the old one)?

I also need to find a resin washer to have his head sit higher on the neck. I have removed the neck extension and I like him better like that, but he is a little too low and his head can't move...

I did the same for my Scraps on Y03 body with sculpted neck, but I don't have any fitting resin ring left in my resin parts stash at the moment :/

I have this lovely mess on my DC adult body. Thanks to @Kavarr Thaddeus has a new outfit though he wants more skin to show, so we will be working that into the sewing schedule.

Blackstone looks amazing Skimo. I love the face up and the way the neck pieces are painted to look like bone.
I have a adult DC head but no Dollshe body so i'm not a lot of help VampireAngel13. It will depend on what the Dollshe neck size is as the DCs are made for a very slender neck.
So glad to see it fits Thaddeus SteamWitch! I knew only to well he would want to show of more of that body. Can't wait to see what you do with it. I think he needs to show of that gorgeous neck.
I really need to get Shai'tan out for a photo shoot. This is the last pic I took of him when he stole the alpaca wig I had made for another doll.

Do you mean the new 18M Classic body that was introduced with the Arsene head? Sadly, I only have the dollshe pure body and it's neck, at least according to the site, is smaller then the new classic 18M body. 10.5cm vs 12.5cm.

@Kavarr, which head is that?

 

I mean the rereleased old\classic body. I guess the Hound body. But the newer version (as of a couple years ago as opposed to many years ago). The newer release is smaller than the old one. I have the Pure too tho so that would work.

@VampireAngel13 Ah, OK, I know which body you mean now. Yeah, sadly I don't have that one either, and I'm not sure what the difference in neck size is from that one to the old version, or the Pure Body. But I took pictures of my DC Chester on my Pure Body.

From the front you can almost be tricked into believing it could work.

But this is how the head looked from the side in those front facing pictures.

Unfortunately, the head just perches on top of the neck. Quite a bit of modding would be needed to get the head to fit.

 

Oh thank you so much for these!! Arg I had such high hopes for this but from the side it just looks like it won't work at all. That would be a lot of modding. Boo I really wanted Fergus!! Maybe he'll just have to be a full doll of his own...someday.....

 

After fiddling with him last night, now I kind of wish I had a spare pure body to try modding. Because head to shoulder wise I kind of like the proportions, and I tend to like wider necks on adult male dolls.

 

Yeah, modding the neck and head would probably work, I can't do it to mine :P it already has a head. But I totally agree the proportions work - it looked great from the front!

@Kavarr And this is why owner pictures will be the death of me. I didn't really care for Mephisto's face when he came out, but yours is lovely.

 

It's always amazing to see how much difference a face up or camera angle will make to a sculpt. I love looking at heaps of owner pics as you see so much more than what the company pic shows. I agree it is dangerous though as that is how dolls have been added to my wishlist too

Hi all, just wondering if I could get some help. What are the actual differences other than height between the adult boy A-body-03, A-body-04 and A-body-06?

 

The 03 body has the extra neck joint. The 04 body is exactly like the 03 body but without the extra neck joint. The 06 body is a completely different body and aesthetic to the 03 and 04 bodies. Narrower chest and hips, more pronounced abs, and doesn't have the extra joints in the limbs. DC has pictures of all three bodies on their site here. http://www.doll-chateau.com

I have only just got around to looking at Arali in detail. Her neck size is 5.5?! What would that mean for her on other DC bodies? Her head is 19cm which is the same as Stacy, but such a tiny neck. Is anybody planning to put her or Lily on another body?

 

I had a Lilly head, I planned to put her on the Y01 body and the neck was too long for my taste without modding,

Preparing to order a Dolores... I have basically wanted him ever since he came out, but I couldn't justify getting him. Now I have a character, ideas, and that creepy little event demon William fits everything perfectly. All I have te decide is what colour to get the little demon in :p.

@SteamWitch, order placed, I'm so excited! I'm really curious about the body and how it will handle. Also, the size. Here I was, telling myself and everybody else that I'd never, ever get a 70 cm doll because they are too large... I even seriously considered hybriding the Dolores head with a 60 cm Dollzone body - but I had to admit to myself that the lankiness of the DC body suits the character really well, plus ... well, these bodies look so great, it would be a shame to pass it up. Still: a little bit nervous about the size.

 

He is a hand full to be sure but he is much lighter than my other big boys.
Thaddeus, Azure and Ash are my tallest boys at ~72cm each but the DC body is much lighter. He holds poses well with his leg wired.

I have been wondering too about the DZ 60 cm body for a DC Adult head... I wish someone could try it out...

And I wish I could see owner pictures of the A06 body, I have only seen one Fergus so far, just one picture of him clothed on facebook... there isn't even one on the waiting list...neither a Medeas...

 

@Skimo Same with me. I've been trying to find pictures of Medeas ever since i saw him listed. I hope to see some owner pictures one day! I'll be stalking and lurking on this thread for them, ha!
I just can't decide between him and Cyril. They're both just sooo perfect!

 

Thanks @Angelfey and @Sigune ! She can yeah! I wouldn't recommend leaving her up unsupervised but she holds up fairly well. I do support my girl with a stand anyway, not leaving any SD's up to gravity's whims xD

I will buy my first BJD after Christmas *money booth* and he is going to be a Doll Château A-03 Body with a Fergus head.

Anyway, my finals will be on soon after so I would like to sew or knit some cloth for him now while I still have some free time.

My question is: Would any of you who owns a dc adult body please give me some other measurements that are not listed on the company website?

I would be specially interested in:
-Shoulder to upper breast part
-Shoulder to waist
-Shoulder to hip
-Shoulder to elbow
-Elbow to wrist
-Wrist circumference
-Hip to knee
-Knee to angle
-Angle circumference
-Foot circumference

Even if you can only provide some measurements I would be very thankful.
