Does your doll wear shoes?

Jul 10, 2014

    1. i have a temdency of not caring too much for buying shoes so only one of my doll constantly wears shoes :doh

    2. All of my dolls have socks and most have two pairs of shoes. Only one of them wear shoes because I adore the little msd platform boots he has.. everyone else is bare foot because I love the detail of the sculpting of the SD feet. Lol!

    3. shoes aren't a priority for my dolls. i need to figure out the doll's overall clothes style before getting shoes, like styling the the shoes come last! my anthro doll doesn't wear shoes either, because paws lol

    4. Shoes can be kind of expensive for me so I don't buy a lot of shoes for my dolls .My 1/3 girl has one pair of boots that she wears sometimes. I'm thinking of buying a pair of floral sneakers later. My tiny never wears shoes at all. I don't plan to buy her shoes anytime soon.

    5. Yes haha, but they don't have as much as their wigs and outfits though

    6. Eeeehhh.
I have a tough time with shoes. My big girl has flat feet and it's tough to find any shoes I'd like for her. Plus I also hate to spend more than 20$ because I don't even spend that much money on my own shoes!

    7. My current doll has got one pair of shoes right now, and while doll shoes are pretty cute, I think I generally prefer him barefoot. I'm undecided if future dolls will have shoes-- a lot of the ones I find always seem to be a little too big to be realistic.

    8. I was really worried about the shoe thing before my first doll arrived. Before BJDs, I had been collecting Pullips and some other fashion dolls in that size range, all of which fit pretty comfortably into Barbie shoes. For those dolls, I have something like 50+ pairs of shoes just because they're cheap, easy to get a hold of, and if they don't fit one doll, they'd fit another in my collection.

I wasn't sure how the heck BJD shoes worked at first. When you're used to just typing in Barbie/Blythe shoes and then suddenly you have to pay attention to measurements, it really throws you off! It also seemed like the style selection was really lacking compared to fashion dolls. I eventually found some information (here, actually!) about shoes that fit my doll. I learned that Tonner's American Model shoes fit my doll, which opened up a lot of options for me. Once my doll arrived, I was able to take the feet measurements myself and that helped with looking for shoes on Taobao, which had a way bigger selection than I expected! I think I have six pairs of shoes for my Raspberry right now, and I plan on buying some more of the Tonner shoes since they're so darn cute.

    9. Yes, absolutely! They never go barefoot. High heels and boots are my favorite in real life, so I make sure all of my dolls have their own shoes. :D I'm into fashion and shoes can really help complete an outfit. My dolls definitely reflect my sense of style. :3nodding:

Edit: I completely forgot that one of my boys is a swimmer, so he will go barefoot when he's wearing his jammers and goggles.

    10. I only have one doll that (currently) wears shoes, but I think a lot of it for me depends on the character of my doll. I really couldn't imagine my one boy in shoes at all, but I couldn't imagine my other boy without them! ...Or maybe I just don't want to buy more than one pair of shoes, lol.

    11. Hah, I wish! I really struggle with finding shoes that fit my dolls in terms of style and size, so most of them are always barefoot. And shoes can be so expensive as well! I don't know, I might just have to try making my own shoes for them someday...

    12. They usually stay at home, so they usually wear socks.

    13. Some of mine do, but some don’t have any.

    14. It bugs me when they don't have shoes but shoes tend to bug me when they're wearing them.

    15. D: mine only wear them sometimes. They seem to all be very big on his poor little feet....and too much of a hassle to deal with.

    16. I'm totally addicted to doll shoes (and shoes in general haha), it's a priority for me to buy them at least one pair ! SD+ ones can be really realistic, but also expensive, that's the problem...

    17. I would really love to find shoes that fit my realfee. Right now she's got on some ugg-a-likes that I made, but she really needs proper shoes

    18. My boys always wear socks and boots. After order new boy. First thing is buy him wig and boots

    19. I really love to buy doll shoes especially i buy 2 of same shoes cuz of my twin dolls but I used to take a picture of upper part of doll body not whole body shot, so most of my doll pic doesnt show shoes LOL

    20. Mostly barefoot. It's hard to find ones that are quite right, despite the fact that they are all supposedly common sizes. Shoes are just annoying in general.

    21. Shoes tend to be a very low priority for me, and I don't like how oversized so many shoes are on my dolls even when they're supposed to be the right size. I sometimes feel a little guilty at how cold my dolls toes must be, since I don't like having cold toes myself. I keep meaning to make some simple slippers for them.

    22. Only my favorite one wears a adidas superstar. Others are bare footed

    23. I prefer my dolls in shoes because I feel they protect my dolls' feet and help them stand better. Part of it probably is just 'me', I have some chronic issues with my feet that mean I am supposed to never walk around bare-foot so I am always wearing shoes unless I am sitting down or going to sleep. I think this causes me to feel my dolls are more comfortable in shoes since I am.

I would say two thirds of my dolls wear shoes. I would like to have them all in shoes and have multiple pairs but the 'right-sized' shoes are often priced higher than what I want to pay, and the other shoes often look to big on my dolls' feet. I also feel that most of their outfits just look better with matching shoes than them standing just in socks or barefoot.

    24. My boy has got a pair of boots and sneakers. Boots arrived today, but I got the sneakers few days ago. He will wear them as soon as I will get over my laziness, and change his knee joints, and put back his left feet...:abambi: I am a moron, I know:sweat (and I really envy those boots from him:lol:).

    25. Well that's the beauty of having so many long dresses; I worry less about shoes than I otherwise might.

    26. Although I buy lots of shoes for my dolls, I don't like them to wear shoes in my room.

    27. I would say half and half some have shoes or boots as they fit the outfit others are barefoot. I would rather buy an outfit first shoes later but its does finish the outfit off at times

    28. My doll only wear shoes when go out, if they stay at home, I did not put shoes on them., and people should be careful that some shoes may cause damage to dolls feet, do be careful

    29. girl's aint no hobo, gotta wear some nice shoes

    30. I don't have many, but I love BJD shoes! For my dolls I felt like they were more complete with them. I hope to get another pair or two for my girls for the sake of variety(and one pair to properly match an outfit)

I'm a sucker for the tiny detailing and am in absolute awe of those who make their own doll footwear.

    31. My favorite one have very nice feets and wear something only when she go out.
And there are no choice for others, because they have no shoes. =)

    32. One of my dolls never wears shoes because he's a fox boy..so huge feet/paws for his doll size haha. For my human dolls, depends what they're wearing. Shoes are kindof expensive, so I don't have many pairs.

    33. None of my bjd’s have shoes yet. I will have to sort this out, but at the moment have been prioritising wigs and clothes.

    34. Two of my dolls wear shoes most of the time. My biggest girl doesn’t usually, because her character concept doesn’t have feet (she’s a ghost).

    35. I kinda need everything to be *complete* so it would drive me crazy if I had a doll with no shoes on haha.

    36. I love buying shoes for my dolls (especially the boys - don't know why but I love boy shoes and will happily hand over all my money if I find a pair I love) but half the time they don't even wear them xD
Blue in particular spends most of her life barefoot. I just love her cute little feet so much, it feels criminal to hide them inside shoes.

    37. Yes, of course, but sometimes is very hard to find right shoes :sigh

    38. I would like him to, but I haven't gotten around to getting him any yet. Right now he just hangs around in his sock feet, but he never leaves the house anyway so I figure it's okay.

    39. This is a very interesting question. The only doll I have that has shoes (at least for now) is my Tender Creation doll, which I ordered with shoes by the artist. The shoes don't hold super well however and are very delicate, so I only use them for pictures. I do actually prefer to see the dolls barefoot though but it goes with the style I've been giving them. I prefer to see my girls in lingerie anyway and my boys are usually naked, one of them because the only clothes I have for him are red and I'm afraid they can stain, and the other one I haven't made clothes for yet haha. I have my dolls on display but I only dress them for photoshoots really =)

    40. Most of mine that have human feet also have shoes - except for a few of my big boys, as I'm having trouble finding shoes for them.
My DZ The Fairy never wears shoes, but he has tons of them, because he fits in the same Kelly shoes as my Nono and Momo. Other than that, all my tinies have footwear (except the hooved and clawed ones).
In fact, my newest tiny had shoes ready for him before he even arrived.

I'm a BJD-shoe-addict. I don't have more than five or six pairs for myself (and that includes sneakers and sandals), but I think if I put all my BJD shoes in one place, the sheer number of them would make Imelda Marcos cry with envy. LOL!!

    41. He wears shoes and socks. I want him to be as complete as possible. =)

    42. Ideally they'd all wear shoes but only some of them do atm!

    43. I think for a fairy or nature like doll without shoes is probably really good idea! My doll only wears shoes when she has to haha she is kind of like a sleepy shy persona so I have her favorite clothes to be like pajama or comfortable clothes so she mostly is shoeless or wearing socks. I think its cute but got to get her more shoes!!

    44. No. But just because they are kind of expensive and not always are visible on the photos

    45. At the moment, all bar one have footwear. Sneakers, shoes, boots. Some wear socks, some don't [even with their current footwear]. I think it's like another form of protection against dirt/stains or chips in the resin.

However, a few of my guys are difficult to buy for, due to the enormity of their feet and the rarity of finding suitable footwear for them. Still, I am prepared to search high and low for appropriate boots and shoes. Because their outfits aren't complete without them.

    46. Yes. For me, my dolls don't really feel whole or complete if they don't have shoes.

    47. I love shoes (doll shoes and human shoes!!) I own way too many shoes myself, the same goes for my dolls! My dolls all wear shoes and I change their shoes/boots whenever I change their outfits. They also wear socks btw- all of them- socks are another fetish we have here :3

    48. Yes, everyone wears shoes and socks, unless she is wearing sandals. I keep my dolls in outfits so I keep them in the shoes that match the outfits.

    49. 2 of my dolls have odd feet so they don't(a robot and a harpy), the other 3 do wear shoes. Though only because I started trying to make shoes lol

    50. I want all my dolls to have shoes... simply because it completes the outfit. Not everyone has shoes, but most of them do.
I also find it slightly annoying how chunky shoes are, the only shoes that really fit snugly are my Doll Chateau boots.

    51. All of my dolls wear shoes. It completes the look~

    52. I've got rather a thing about shoes for my crew. The least anyone has is 7 pairs, and my diva has 21 pairs (at the moment). Of course, they also have outfits for the different seasons and special occasions, so they need shoes to match the outfits. No, the diva doesn't have 21 outfits - not yet, anyway - but she's only been with me a little over a year. Sigh. I may have a little bit of a problem here.

    53. Although I have enough shoes for all of my children (each of them might own at least 3 pairs of shoes themselves) but in compare with clothings, it's not enough.
I believe shoes are really expensive that I can't afford to buy them all times. It means that some set of clothings are shoes-missing, so I should mix these sets of clothings with shoes from other sets...
Then, yes, sometimes it might be mismatch and, please excuse me, I forced to make my children pose with bare-foot in that case, so silly!

    54. None of my dolls wear shoes. I had them with shoes but in the end I left them barefoot and they look cosier with their tights and socks.

    55. None of my dolls wear shoes, but mostly because I don't have any BJD shoes! I don't mind it, though. I think I will try to get some for my DZ Carter when he arrives!

    56. My msd has a pair of boots. Other than that, none of my dolls wear shoes plus they are expensive. Although in the future, I'll get my April Story boy some shoes to help him stand better :/

    57. I had a headache with shoes (size) in the beginning, but now they are all have their own pair.i don’t mind if they stay home without shoes, but if we are going outside, it’s kind of strange imo if we go barefoot.

    58. My Myou boy is the only one with shoes currently. I have some ordered for my Dollzone girl, but in that order is also a Dream Valley doll, so she'll likely stay barefoot for a while.

    59. While I still don't have my minifee here, Ive already bought her shoes for outside and made some slippers for inside. My slavic blood would not allow outdoor shoes in the house

    60. I try to make sure I have shoes that they can wear out, but I'm sadly lacking at the moment :sweat Some of my dolls don't need them (mermaids and paw feet, for example) but most of the human and elf dolls should, at least theoretically, have an option for photos. Should. My poor SD boys... well, converse-style works for half of them, and that's what I have :sweat There are a lot of bare feet around the room right now, lol.
