Does your doll wear shoes?

I have shoes for my dolls, but they don't use them often. I don't know if it's a cultural thing, because here in Finland people don't use shoes indoors, so neither do my dolls. If I photograph them outside, there is a way bigger change in putting shoes on.

 

Each doll size I have has at least one pair of shoes but that means that some have to share shoes. My problem is that I have a hard time deciding on a style for the shoes. Do I get flats? Sneakers? Boots? I'd like to get a lot of shoes for them but my bank account says no.

 

They do, but I don't buy many. Usually a pair each. They share them, according to their clothes, when photographing.

 

Yes, all of my dolls wear shoes. Is is part of their outfit. I mostly make them myself, so I have several pairs.

 

I bought a pair of boots for Sandor but haven't put them on him since he would look odd wearing boots and nothing else.

 

Yes, I try to have each one have at least one pair of shoes on, unless the photos I'm taking would need them to be off for whatever reason. If not shoes then definitely socks at least!

 

I like shoes! Shoes are my favorite fashion items so I like to collect high quality doll shoes, and my big doll always wears shoes. But, my small azone doll does not wear shoes because it looks cute with bare feet.

 

I'm also in the no shoes indoors club, so while I have (many) pairs of shoes, I only ever put them on when they're going outside with me, which is... not that often.

 

Oh I never thought about having my dolls take off their shoes in my house! I’m no shoes indoors except when it comes to my dolls! They wear shoes all the time!
Maybe its a carry-over habit from my dollhouse days when inside my house was still outside of the doll house
Shoes complete their looks! Hazuki won’t look as cool in socks or barefoot!

 

Well my girls wear shoes (they like being fancy) but my boy doesnt like shoes so he is barefoot

 

My dolls mostly don't wear shoes, they are more based in fantasy versus the modern world, so why need shoes?!? Though honestly it's mostly because shoes seem hard to make, are pretty expensive, and it kinda seems like a headache to figure out what size would fit them if I were to buy them off of Etsy, for example! The only shoes my dolls wear is when they come with high heels instead of feet!

 

I like the no shoes outdoor look! It makes me feel like they're free spirited???

My doll always wears shoes simply because I love shoes! I have a ton of pairs myself, and I can get my doll all of the styles that do not go with my own personal style.

 

I know what you mean! Heels are so cute and stylish but they hurt soooo bad??? So I’m not surprised that my dolls have more heels than I do! XD

I spend quite a bit of time searching for the perfect shoes for my dolls so you can bet they are going to wear them.
Except my Littlefee. He's just too cute without shoes.

 

YES, each of my dolls has more shoes than I and they are very picky, they love handmade shoes the best, and most of all, one pair for each outfit, oh, they’re spoiled rotten.

 

Some do. And some of them have a secret: some of my crew sometimes have stumpy, barely formed Fimo lumps inside those shoes instead of their actual feet because I lost patience with so many of the shoes that are too small by just a hair for Souldoll Zenith girls in both flat and high versions.

I love my dolls in shoes, but finding them shoes… not so much lol a few do end up going barefoot or in a very basic pair from time to time when I can’t find something that works with a look

 

It depends on the outfit, I have a barefoot one right now but it’s because the shoes I ordered aren’t here yet. I like @mimimontoya’s idea

 

I think most of the time I'm just too lazy to put them on since most of the photos I take don't include the feet.

 

I have so many shoes for my girls but they are never used because none match their outfits perfectly. I am actually thinking about downsizing my dolls shoe collection for that reason.

 

Every single one of my dolls is barefoot I don't think that'll ever change either. It's such a hassle to find doll shoes that fit just right, at least in my experience, and then they don't like to stand properly for me. I myself also hate wearing shoes so my dolls much too haha but I do have a lot of really cool BJD's with unique feet that are taloned or animal-esk so I like keeping them bare!

 

Most of my dolls wear shoes at least some of the time. Some have more shoes than others. I've got one with claw like nails on her hands and feet, and she seems to hate even the thought of wearing shoes, so she goes barefoot. The cat anthro has paws, so no shoes for him either.

 

All of my dolls have shoes and do typically wear them, but when I was in school none of my dolls had shoes. I just dressed my crew for spring and both of my Pukifee’s are barefoot! One is always barefoot, but the other one was just a random decision I made! Those tiny shoes fall apart too easy to mess with sometimes.

 

I love doll shoes. Most of them are so incredibly well crafted and detailed. Very realistic looking. All my SD size dolls have shoes and a couple of them have different shoes for warm weather and cold weather.

My MSDs however, are a different story. I've had a terrible time finding shoes that fit them properly, Most are far too big. I've spent a lot of money on shoes my slim MSDs can't wear.

I also have 3 YOSD size dolls, and they all have sneakers which I bought from Mint On Card many years ago.
The cutest shoes I have are a pair of "Crocs" which my Iplehouse BID Chloe wears. I wish I'd bought more of them at the time because now I can't find them.

 

They all have shoes. When I buy the doll, if I don't already have some shoes for it, I order the shoes immediately after the confirmation of the doll.

My bigger male dolls have one pair each, but I have a lot of sneakers that my MSD dolls & my SD females can all wear.

I have a 1/10 doll that I made the shoes for, it's difficult to find shoes that small.

 

My dolls don't wear shoes at home as I'm afraid of staining on their feet if I leave them on for too long. I only put them on when I bring them out!

I love doll shoes, especially those for BJDs, because they're miniatures of human shoes. That, and they can wear the stylish high heels that I can't.

 

They all wear shoes however they don't all have the perfect shoes/boots...yet!

 

Only a very few of mine do…if it truly suits their characters to do so. The rest happily traipse about barefoot because that suits their characters better. My dolly realm is a fantasy one (fairies, elves, anthros, sentient plants, people wandering through an enchanted forest, etc.) so the majority of them just prefer to be shoeless which is a big money saver because shoes are expensive.

They're supposed to, at least! For the most part. I have more dolls than shoes right now (five dolls, three pairs of shoes), so two are barefoot. One is smaller (40cm versus the others being in the 43-45cm range) so she's too small for the shoes anyways, and the other is a Resinsoul Zhen, who, well, has big ol' dragon feet. Those aren't going to be fitting in most pants, let alone shoes.

 

I think the shoes are legitimately my favorite part of any doll's outfit. I'm kind of a shoe freak for myself (not expensive ones, but unique finds) So, shoes gotta be involved somehow lol. Though I plan on soon giving all of my dolls nice pedicures so their toes look nice in sandals or barefoot!!

 

Yess all my dolls have shoes! They can't be without. I'm truthfully very picky over shoes though, so the pairs my dolls do own were very carefully curated lol. I take their individual styles and designated personalities into consideration, so that I know they have pairs that match them and their wardrobes.

My dolls are shoe-aholics!!! Even if their feet aren’t in a photo, it does not feel right to me if they do not have shoes on!

My dolls should wear shoes because I spent so much on them, but right now they're chilling on a (doll sized) couch so they are barefoot. I have the heeled feet on them both though, so if I want to take standing pictures they're going to have to have shoes on hahaha.

 

I love shoes so much, I have a million shoes so of course my dolls must also have a million shoes. And doll shoes are just so cute! An outfit just isn’t complete if my dolls don’t have shoes!

i love doll shoes though they are just so expensive and hard to find certain styles

 

Embarrassed to admit that none of my dolls wears shoes at the moment I do have some but they don’t fit to their clothes. I think buying shoes for dolls is just exhausting I often can’t find the right size or design I want and when I see them they cost more than the entire outfit

 

I most of the time feel like my outfits aren't complete without shoes, but also sometimes have a hard time finding shoes for specific dolls. I have one girl wearing slides right now that should definitely have something cuter, but a doll I haven't even finished the layaway for yet has at least 2 pairs waiting for her when she gets here.

 

I don’t have many shoes for my dolls, so they are usually barefoot. Need to buy some for them.

 

For most of the time I've been collecting my dolls have never worn shoes lol I've just rectly found two pairs I like so I've bought them but they don't wear them unless I'm taking photos or want to pose them on a stand

 

The only one's of mine that don't are the one's without human feet... Which is about 10 or so.

I will say "if it's possible for them to wear shoes, they wear shoes" lol. My only human doll had shoes put on within an hour of him coming home. My cat-tuar has cat-peets so no shoes. And my birb boy has giant birb talons for toes, so I don't think I'd even be able to find a pair to fit him lol.

 

I'm surprised how many people here keep their dolls shoe-less I never would have thought so!

To me, shoes are an essential part of the outfit, so they're a must for my dolls ^-^ Each of my dolls has their own little selection of shoes, some of them mix and match among each other, but usually I choose their shoes according to their styles, e.g. elegant men's shoes, fashionable sneakers, working boots etc. ^__^

 

Despite the incredible amount of shoes I own... my dolls often spend their time at home barefoot. The discrepancy is so severe I think I can say I really have a completely separate hobby of collecting the doll shoes.

Nevertheless, shoes are very useful. They can add that special finishing touch on an outfit and of course, protect my dolls' tender feet from the outdoors (ahem, and some of them stand much better wearing shoes). There are reasons I often leave them barefoot, one is just that I think they have cute little feet and I like to look at them and I rub them like a worry stone as I pass by the doll shelf sometimes.
