I recently adopted a Ringdoll Alpha body from the wilds of international shipping, and it arrived naked in spirit. No certificate. No paper trail. Just vibes. I know some companies skip the whole Certificate of Authenticity ritual when it’s a body-only purchase. Doll Chateau, I’m looking at you. I did order a full Ringdoll previously and received the usual CoA keychain, so I know they can do paperwork when sufficiently motivated. So, before I light a candle and start chanting at customer service, can anyone confirm if Ringdoll also sends bodies into the world completely undocumented, or did mine simply escape the bureaucracy? Thanks for reading!
I also ordered an Alpha body (arrived September) and didn't receive a CoA. I've kept the box and all the emails between me and my dealer for proof of provenance. It's not unusual for dollmakers not to include a CoA with a body-only purchase: dollmakers who I have seen body CoAs for are Dollits, Granado and Switch; some dollmakers include separate CoAs for the head and body (Angell-Studio, Soom); most only include CoAs for a head or full doll; and some don't come with a traditional CoA at all (medallions like Ringdoll or Loongsoul, Volks limiteds only coming with specific booklets).
Yep, Doll Chateau pulls the same move. Bodies get no paperwork, no birth certificate. I haven’t ordered much from Ringdoll either, aside from a Rinku head ages ago, so I just wanted to double-check before assuming this body is living an undocumented life. I couldn’t resist that half-priced Alpha body, though. My self-control saw the discount and immediately threw money at it. Thanks for the reply!
I asked about the Ringdoll CoA in post #397 : /threads/ringdoll-mini-discussion.304073/ But, my doll was a full doll. So, I am not sure if they treat "body only" differently.
I can confirm bodies only don't come with CoAs, and full dolls have charms as their CoAs, not paper. Boxes are the best authentication for a body, along with the quality level - resin feel alone makes a Ringdoll body distinct, let alone sculpting.
New My experience is from several years ago since all my Ringdoll dolls are from 2013-2020. I have purchased directly from Ringdoll and from dealers. For all the full dolls (basic, not fullset) I have received some version of a COA card (about the same size as a credit card with the dolls individual number). The look of these COA cards has varied a bit over the years. Sometimes they also come with a paper "packaging list" but not always. I have never purchased only a body, but I have purchased several heads from them and orders for only heads have so far never come with any COA. However, if purchased directly from Ringdoll the heads usually come with a paper "Packaging list" document which lists which items are in the order.
