My mother used to collect porcelain dolls for me as a child and I honestly hated it. Even though I love resin bjds now, I still have a strong personal dislike for porcelain dolls. I do have some non-resin dolls in my collection, such as an Obitsu11, a few nendoroids, and living dead dolls, but it's more of I buy them as I find dolls I like, not that I want to collect that specific type of doll. I'm trying to at least steer my collection towards only resin dolls from now on.
I collect other dolls like Brats, Monster High, and Barbie. I've wanted to collect Living Dead Dolls. Now that I'm collecting Bjds, I'm considering Reborn and American Girl dolls.
I have a couple of Pullips and Dals, Licca-chans, a small army of Azone PureNeemos, and Dollfie Dreams.
I collect Cabbage Patch Kids (Coleco) and things like JEM and Moondreamers sometimes. I've been collecting Monster High Dolls and Tinkerbell Series Dolls for about a year. I often get barbies in the mix but I don't collect them officially. I also just very recently started collecting Zelfs, only 1 so far. lol
Welp, I guess I collect Nendoroid Dolls now. I have three and one floating head, soon to have a body of his own.
I've always like vinyl dolls, too. My newest interest is the LOL OMG dolls. The articulation is a little lacking, but I kind of like the customization potential of their big heads, their curviness, and the fact in their initial release, every doll had some skin tone other than peach/white. If only I could find neonlicious. I also love Barbies, mostly fashionista/mtm hybrids at the moment, but I still ask for the holiday Barbie every season. I loved Monster High, a little of Ever After High, and the most recent iteration of Bratz when they were around. And the last iteration of Super Hero Girls was AWESOME, I loved the torso joints and muscles. I'm so sad they changed. I've also got some cloth bodied American girl dolls and Our generation dolls, as well as a few Pullips. And Nendoroid dolls. Most of my dolls are bought with the potential that they could be customized, but I am a very slow and amateur customizer.
Awwww now I wish I kept mine. I actually gave my American girl doll away for free a couple of years ago (I wanna say.... 4? years) when I moved. I don’t really have a collection of dolls yet because I just started. But I have a large collection of Sumikko gurashi plushies xD
I collect Disney LE dolls, Disney Designer dolls, Blythes, Living Dead Dolls and Hot Toys. Though I focus more on BJDs now. I did keep all my other dolls. Though I sold many of my action figures and anime statues since I am not really into anime anymore now.
I collect Blythes, Pullips and antique bisque mignonettes. I have other kinds of dolls too, but those are the ones I actively collect. I have several porcelain BJDs, but they are so different from one another that they don't feel like a collection. Lately I've been looking at Smart Dolls, Kikipops and Azone Ex Cute dolls.
I actually MAINLY collect Blythe and kind of consider my true blue go to's. I love them and how adorable and full of personality they are. I also love how easy they are to transport, especially in contrast to BJD's and other larger and more posable dolls. I have recently been bit by the vinyl doll bug and want sooooooooo many of them. I got my first Angel Philia recently and now I want more, plus dollfie's, plus smart dolls.
I'm a sucker for everything that is even slightly doll-related. I do try to keep it in check though. Maintaining a resin family and a human family is already expensive enough. I currently own a Pullip, a Dal and two Smartdolls on the side. Considering letting one of the Smartdolls find a new home though. I really prefer resin over vinyl for some reason but I do want to keep one of them around because they're so light and easy to carry and they're the only doll I'd trust my 2-year old with at the moment. Yay for the resilience of vinyl, not so much their love for stains.
I collect Pullip dolls and Monster High dolls. I used to be somewhat active collecting Monster High dolls, but after they changed the style I was not so interested anymore. I only have few MH dolls left now, but I am slowly trying to buy the ones I like, whenever I see them somewhere. As for Pullip family dolls, I would not saw I collect them, I just have few of them. I like to sew for them, take photos, etc, but I am not actively keeping up with the new models. However, I am planning to buy Buyl in the future.
I collect mostly sofubi kaiju monsters right now but for dolls I have Licca, blythe, kukuclara, jjorori, unicorn mico and pure neemos. Jjorori art dolls are my favorite! they are so cute and go perfectly with re-ment and 1/6 doll clothes and accessories.
I have so many Monster High dolls (I’m trying to sell some on eBay even). I have some funko pop figures (also trying to sell some) and I have stuffed animals. Not all dolls, but in the same vein. I’m trying not to horde so much stuff (hence the eBay) anymore but it’s hard =_=
Same with me and my Pullip dolls. I sold a vast majority of them on ebay, and though I don't regret it, I'm still constantly worried that they didn't end up going to good homes. I just want them to get the love they deserve!!!
I collect Monster high dolls. But a very limited selection. As of late I have purchased a few second hand First waves from 2010-2011 because those monster high dolls back then had the most design quality. Right now I´m staring at a beautiful Frankie stein Second wave Schools out edition. Monster high is such a creative doll playline with lots of diversity and good culture inspiration from all over. Very sad how Mattel put the monsters in an early grave. Now there are rumors they will have a new come back this new year. I believe Draculauras voice actor leaked some info on new project via her Instagram. Anyways other than MH I tend to be very picky about dolls in generel. I only collect a few dolls with each brand. Rainbow high I have currently only one at home. I have an ongoing battle inside my head, whenever I should get more xD Then I have a few Ever after high dolls in box. Wondering if I should snatch up a Made2Move Barbie because of her poseability and a Caveclub girl from Mattel as well. I do also have one Hairdorables Hairamazing Noah first wave. Her pants with embroidery was an instant buy for me, and hairdorables have cute faces :3 I don´t collect Blythes, Pullips, Baby/toddler looking dolls, Disney, Barbies, obistu/volks or other common Asian dolls.
Years ago I discovered Mamachapp dolls and since they are only sold in Japan, I gave up. But recently I found some at Mandarake and have gone Mamachapp crazy and adopted quite a few. They are 1/6 scale, anime and so adorable!
Before these dolls existed (modern BJD), I was already collecting a ton of mass-produced dolls of all sorts. I collect Barbie mostly although I did lose interest in her for a while, curiously enough during the time I discovered BJD. I also collected Monster High, random Azone Pure Neemo, Nendoroid Dolls and Asterisk dolls. Pullips, although I only own two MIO kits, one Black Butler BoC Sebby Taeyang and two awesome random Tuesday Morning Pullip and Dal finds. Basically, just any fashion doll I find appealing, cute or cool. I never got into the adult collector fashion ones, they are a bit too stern-looking for me. I did owned a few girls, but I traded them because I couldn't come to like their faces. I am tempted by the Poppy Parker, but I don't find the clothes interesting enough to pay for a full set an second market prices for nude ones are a bit overpriced for me to get any. I collect a lot of Mattel stuff, some MGA, but not the Rainbow High ones, once again I can't seem like come around to liking their faces and the size of their heads... I give Pullip a pass because I find their faces super cute, but the RH heads are not my cup of tea, and the size of the head makes them more unappealing for me. I recently got two of the Hairmazing fashion dolls, their heads are also too big for me, but their faces are quite cute so I don't mind the head size too much. They don't seem as super-round and flat to me, like the RH one the eyes in particular are less round. I love the anime-esque aesthetics of the face paint the most, on the Hairmazing. Their fashions are not that interesting to me, but I love anime, so the faces are appealing to me for that reason. I also got into the newer Sanrio and Friends Fashion dolls by Mattel (only got one so far, but I do want to get all), I love Sanrio but don't collect a lot of their stuff because it's so expensive. I would love to get a legitimate Blythe to customize one day, and like Kurogane, I would love to get some Mamachapp -boys- (I feel like I learned they sell/ship internationally now, or have a dealer, but my memory stinks!). (:
I've collected a variety of dolls over the years (tastes change). I've sold off most of my Barbie's and recently have been selling off my Tonner dolls and Adora baby dolls. I still have all my Evangeline Ghastly's, I am actively collecting the Rainbow High dolls. I've got Pinky Cooper dolls, Momoko, Takara Jenny, Blythe, Pullip, Glitter Girls, several brands of 18" dolls including American Girl, Tonner My Imagination, Penelope and Friends, Newberry, My Life as dolls, Journey Girls and a couple of Integrity dolls. I've also got a collection of Raggedy Ann dolls and some other handmade cloth dolls.
Not sure if they count as dolls or action figures, but I have four 1/6 scale dudes. Would like to add a Captain Picard. The only other thing I have that I'd classify as a doll is my articulated lifesize baby skeleton. He's the cutest part of my skeleton collection lol. The main thing I seem to collect is stuffed animals, mostly cats and Undertale characters.
I have 5 American Girls and far too many old Monster Highs (I'm going through deciding what to sell, actually) and a couple Nendroids. I also have a Pullip and a Taeyang. :3
I owned a few Barbies as a kid (younger sibling destroyed them), as well as G1 My Little Ponies (younger and older siblings destroyed them), so I gave up on dolls fairly early. Fast forward to Lammily. I bought all three dolls because I was so excited about realistic proportions. Dear dog in heaven, those dolls are ugly (IMHO). But I still have them. Then came 2015 and "fat Barbie" (the new curvy line). I bought every single curvy Barbie for something like 3 years running. I just had to have those curvy dolls. Then I discovered that people were buying and selling MLPs from my childhood, so I have a selection of G1 through G3. Then the Made to Move Barbies turned me onto the collector label Barbies, and a YouTube video introduced me to Integrity Toys, and honestly - I discovered BJDs through Aliexpress. Wait! Come back! Mattel has a store on Aliexpress. If there's a particular Barbie you're looking for, you might find it there. Overpriced, but it's there. That is the primary reason I still use Aliexpress. I'm a little embarrassed to admit I chose my first BJDs based off pictures I saw while shopping on Aliexpress. First I found Iplehouse (and my beautiful, LEGIT Mari) by posting a picture in a FB group and asking who she was. Then I saw Unoa Lucis (should be here Tuesday!), and then I discovered the Insta doll community, and then... Numina. My grail. Now, I'm an unabashed, unrepentant 1/6- or 1/4-scale only/fashion-only/adult-only/female-only doll collector. My collection exploded during quarantine, and now I'm struggling to part with dolls to make room for others. Selectively enjoy Lol OMG (for the detailed fashion) and Rainbow High (same, plus bodies - but I gave the heads away), but my latest passion is dolls from, say, 2007-18 and discontinued fashion doll lines, like Spin Master Liv dolls, or Madame Alexander Steampunk Alice in Wonderland. If it's quirky, unusual, and most importantly articulated, I want to know about it. I just can't with Pullip/Blythe, sorry.
Yep. Starting collecting as an adult with PullIp, Dal and Byul back in 2008/2009. Dals are my favourite of that group, but I haven't bought any in years and just like fiddling with my tiny collection. I discovered the Petworks animal and jossie dolls late last year and very quickly fell in love with them. I managed to acquire 5 of them in short order (a month. I bought 5 in one month...) I would not be averse to getting more, which is it's own slippery slope and I've never been happier that packages are only being sent by DHL to my country (because I'm afraid of extra DHL fees I never use them). Future dolls on my wishlist include an eventual Momoko, Ruruko, and one of those Tiny Fox anime cuties. I'm also really tempted by the vinyl cat fashion doll Pipos sells as well. And of course maybe one day I'll finally crack and get an Azone PicoNeemo. Holala and Monst dolls also pique my interest but I haven't decided if they're purchase worthy.
I have collected SO MANY dolls and things over the years, the list is kind of embarassing! Right now I only have BJD's. Over the years I have collected: Barbies, Monster High, Ever After High, Bratz, My Scene, Tonner (Antoinette, Cami and Jon, Agatha Primrose, Re-Imagination), Wilde Imagination (Ellowyn, Evangeline, Patience), Poppy Parker, Fashion Royalty, FR:16, Tulabelle, Pullip, Blythe, CPK, Nendoroid, Figma, Cu-Poche, Azone, Kikipop, Funko (POP!, Dorbz, Rock Candy) Kotobukiya, Miss Mindy, Vinylmation, Tsum Tsums, LOL, American Girl, Wellie Wishers, Journey Girls, Moxie Teenz, La Dee Da, Lalaloopsy, Build a Bear, all different blind box figures like Tokidoki etc, Furry Bones, Beanie kids, Ty Girlz, Webkinz, Mini Mui Chan, Heart 4 Heart, My Salon Doll, Glitter Girls, Various baby/manufactured dolls (Ashton Drake, Lee Middleton, Adora, Paradise Galleries, Himstedt, Zapf artist dolls, Gotz artist dolls, reborns, silicone artist dolls, OOAK artist dolls), Cryptozoic Bombshells... I will quit there, the list is exhausting and as I said, embarrassing I like a lot of things, but I don't like having a lot of things. Dolls are the one thing I always go back to. I have noticed a pattern where I collect a certain type, then my taste will change, or I discover something new, and get all wrapped up in it and sell off the old to bring in the new. I don't really like that about myself, but have just accepted that this is the way I am. At least all my money seems to stay tied up in my hobbies, the original amount usually goes down because I rarely can get back 100% what I paid but one collection pays for another. I have learned to enjoy whatever it is I am into at the moment and not stress over it as much as I used to.
I collect Blythes and some Monster High dolls for customization!! My favourite Blythes are EBLs, I currently have two. I used to have a lot of factory dolls to find out if I like them but I sold almost all of them in favour of Takara Blythes. Couldn't be more happy, my collection feels way more "realized" now haha.
I'm mostly an antique and vintage doll collector, actually! My specialty is lady dolls made pre-1920. I got into BJDs before I knew much about antiques, as a teenager, and now I love them for all their possibilities. You can't exactly take a 150-year-old doll traveling with you and photograph her on your airplane tray table, for example. You can't really customize them beyond wigs and clothing, either, since preservation/conservation is part of the hobby. BJDs fill a niche in my collection that antiques can't (and vice versa). And hey, my BJDs will be old someday, too. Really I'm getting in on the ground floor before they start being valued at $4,000 on Antiques Roadshow.
Cabbage Patch Kids, a few Coleco bean butts and a few Jesmar Kids that were marketed in Europe. Mattel My Child, US, Aussie, and Euro dolls. Galoob Baby Face. A few Helen Kish Riley and friends, the articulated ones and little Ellery who was my first resin
I've just started collecting the Franklin Mint Titanic Rose doll and her ensembles. I have three ensembles other than what she came with, at the moment. I was disappointed a bit that she can't be posed at all - I was looking forward to posing her in the "Flying" outfit with her arms out! Oh well, I still love her. I'd like to collect the Franklin Mint Josephine Gibson Girl and her dresses as well at some point. I've collected dolls all through my life. I have a number of Sailor Moon dolls, the Pleasant Company version of Samantha (signed by the designer of the doll, Marianne Gotz of Gotz/Goetz Dolls) and several of Samantha's outfits and props. I'd like to get into collecting some of Samantha's late 80's Pleasant Company labeled furniture, especially the school desk! (I'm horribly snobbish and finicky when it comes to "Pleasant Company" vs "American Girls"! ) And a number of my childhood Barbies - the ones I actually took care of. I also love Phyllis Parkins' late 80's dolls. So lacy. Lolita before Lolita! They are SO cheap on EBay now. Many of the "limited to 1000" dolls were a couple hundred dollars back in the late 80s, and are going for $25 or so on EBay now. I can't decide if that breaks my heart or makes me want to spend money. I have two dolls that were my mother's that I cherish - one is "Tiny Tears" by American Characters, and the other is "Miss Revlon" by Ideal. I just discovered the My Little Pony "Fairy Tails" birds. OH MY GOD they are SO CUTE!! (taking some deep breaths now... ) I've always wanted a genuine antique doll - like the Tete Jumeau, but they cost as much as cars! Yikes!
