I like this doll too but I keep thinking how good this would look on a dark haired, red lipped doll!

Many, many years ago I had some shoes similar to that but in red. Now I wouldn't even try a pair of shoes on that even remotely resembled them! She is such a beautiful doll. You are so lucky to have her!

I would love to add this Evangeline to my collection! (Even though I don’t collect Evangelines, I think I’d make an exception for this girl.). I’m not sure who she is, but she’s so opulently red!

 

Thank you Stellarphenomena! I see that Séance Serenade is indeed on sale on eBay right now. Alas! $500 dollars is a bit too dear for me at the moment. My husband and I are taking care of home repairs this year, so it looks like my dolly money is going for practical adult stuff. Bummer!

 

@stellarphenomena - I let Lizette go in one of my dolly culls years ago. I hated letting her go, but it was during a period of me not having any place to work (who ever would have thought that things like that happen in healthcare!) and all the bills needed to be paid. I probably sold off 50 or so Tonner dolls at that time but it paid 2 months worth of all my bills so it was worth it.

@Rabbit-moon - It's terrible how much the second hand prices are for EG. And she's a vinyl doll no less who originally sold for like $200. I don't have her but I do like her. She's one of those with the really nice faceups before he went all 70s/80s with the dark eyeshadows up to your eyebrows looks

 

Mu Shu, yes, it’s terrible how high the prices are on the secondary market! But, I guess it’s to be expected. These doll are getting scarcer and scarcer. Especially the really gorgeous ones. I remember when we first stared this thread there were pages and pages of Evangelines listed on eBay. I used to scroll through the pages and drool.

I don’t know, I even like the later plastic Evangelines, if the eyeshadow isn’t too O.M.G. extreme.

Stellarphenomena, Shauna is a classic beauty. What a gorgeous face-up!

Wow! Stellarphenomena, she really does different from her original style! (And in a totally good way!) I love what you’ve done with her. The longer wig is lovely on her and gives her a softer look.

 

@stellarphenomena I agree with Rabbit-moon that she looks much better the way you have her styled! While I do somewhat like the original outfit, I don't care for her original hair at all, her whole face just gets lost, poor girl.

Sorry I didn’t see your message until the auction was over. Which is okay, because I already have a City Tweed Shauna. I got her nude, and she had her original wig. I keep meaning to get her another wig because the wig she has is awful. Now that I’ve seen your Shauna with that lovely wig, and what a difference it makes, it’s just the incentive I needed to get her a decent wig. What size wig does your Shauna wear?

 

I normally love Tonner's dark hair/red lip girls but that hair isn't doing her any justice at all! I think she would look gorgeous in a dark hair wavy or loose curls wig.

All that pink is so Spring! Spring really hasn't had a chance to arrive yet with all the rain and flooding here in So-Cal. Happily, it looks like the rains have subsided for the rest of the week. YAY!

 

We go from 70 degrees to 25 and now back to 60 with wicked weather coming tonight spanning the entire state ranging from snow, rain, hail, tornados and damaging winds.

 

Stellarphenomena, all this rain is very unusual for southern California. It’s like crazy rain! And, we even had a frickin’ tornado! (Yeah, no global warming going on here! )

Doll Peddlar's actual store hasn't been open for some time to go in person, not since they got flooded several years ago. I have often shopped (online) from there but haven't for the past 3 years after I met the owner at BJDC in TX. She was incredibly rude, I was dumbfounded at how rude she was. I had 3 vendor friends at that show as well and all of them had stories about her from that particular show and all refused to sell anything to her afterwards. She had been there in years past and I don't recall her ever being rude but man, something sure was wrong with her then.

Just starting to get light outside here this morning so I can look to see if anything/damage in the yard from the storms last night. No tornados in my area but the wind and rain last night were wicked. The rain was hitting my house so hard it woke me up! It sounded like just the rain could break my windows!

 

Yes, her name is Judy. I try to only deal with the others who help her at the convention now as I was just so turned off by her. I'm not sure if she has a professional degree or not. I'm sure she had a lot of stress from dealing with the floods in AK and then shortly after that getting hit by COVID and all the shut downs but yikes her behavior was just uncalled for.

Been busy all day working on getting quotes for tree services, roof repairs and lawn mowing services. I have a tree in my front yard whose branches are now hitting the corner of my house and roof and has been slowly ripping off parts of shingles. Crossing my fingers that just getting it trimmed doesn't cost an arm and a leg so I can then afford to replace the roof shingles. All the lawn services have increased by at least $20 or more for each mow I know things are up all over the place but I can definitely confirm that it does not cost $50+ dollars in gas to mow my smallish yard! I cringed when I was paying $70/month to have my yard mowed and now everyone is well over $150/month I had to stop mowing about 3 years ago as I was starting to break out in hives every time I mowed and that just isn't pleasant to deal with.

There has been so much rain here in California and the ground is saturated. We have a huge tree outside our house and we’re scared to death that if the ground gets any more saturated it’s going to fall on us! Yikes! It’s such a beautiful tree. We’re keeping our fingers crossed that we get a chance for the ground to dry-out this coming week.

Well, it wasn't good news for my tree. The tree has actually started splitting and is at risk of falling on my house or my neighbors so it has to come out completely Everywhere is quoting around the $2000 mark! That was not what I wanted to do.

I don't really have any redheads left out of my Tonner dolls. I have this one EG

She originally had black hair but I liked this wig on her, but I wanted something different as so many of my EG's have rooted black hair.

 

Mu Shu, your Evangeline looks beautiful with red hair. And her eyes are so soft and pretty. She must be one of the early special ones. It seems the later plastic Evangelines have those hypnotic stares.

Sorry to hear about the tree. OMG!!! I had no idea it costs so much to fell a tree.

Like Stellarphenomena, I hope you can find a cheaper contractor. But, best to take care of it, because if the tree were to fall on your neighbor’s house it will certainly cost more.

About your tree: If the splint is not too deep and the tree is healthy, maybe it is possible to cut off some branches and stabilize the trunk with a metal band? We did that at our former house with a big pear and it lasted years.

Ruby has always been one of the most gorgeous AM dolls he put out! I was so happy when I finally was able to get one of my own. Is that a custom made dress? She looks fantastic in it.

I'm excited that I recently found a Va Va Voom brunette version (the one I really wanted ) She's a Deeanna Denton/Peggy Harcourt doll.

She's on the athletic body which is beautiful but BIG! She does not fit in regular DD clothes nor the shoes! I'm trying to find some stretchy clothes for now but I'm going to have to order her some clothes and shoes. Overall she is in good condition but her arms and feet were covered in some sticky residue which fortunately came off with a Clorox wipe.

 

She was from Ebay I was on there looking for something else and then started looking at the Tonner dolls and she was there. I didn't buy her at first as her price was up there, but I put her in my watch list. About 3 days later, I got one of those "ebay offers" and she was about $70 less than the list price and I didn't think I'd ever get a chance again to get her and that much off put her more into a price range for a fashion doll that I was willing to pay. I'm still pining for the Snow White doll that's been up but I can't do $600 for her, but I REALLY, REALLY want her!
