Special Event DoA Shadow Swap!

I've send my package the beginning of this month, but nothing yet from my swap-partner that it's arrived.

 

I know that the post office sent me confirmed delivery in early August, and I still haven't heard anything from the recipient...I just figure that I did what I was supposed to do...would it be ok to PM them? I haven't gotten anything yet, but I am very rural, and could be getting something from far away...the real fun was the doing and sending...so I guess I am ok either way

 

Just in case anyone's waiting on responses from folks in the UK (particularly kpatillo!) - if your package was delivered in the last few days we've just had a Bank Holiday so it's possible that people are away for the weekend and maybe that's why they have been delayed posting? Just a thought anyway! I'm guessing mine's stuck in the Bank Holiday backlog

OOOH! My swap came! Super thanks to Akkhima for a wonderful Nighttime Safety Kit for Marshmallow, including a potentially evil bunny (that she won't let go of), a lantern that actually lights up, a song to keep away bad thoughts, a magic wand to banish monsters and, as if that weren't enough, hairclips (so perfectly in scale) to keep her cute throughout it all! And I forgot the backpack to store it all in!

It was not only dead on theme, but perfect for Marshmallow and who she is!

Just a head's up - I haven't gotten anything from my swap partner. I'd be ok with someone PMing me just to let me know when they mailed it (and if they have a tracking number, I'll try to find it from my end). I hope it hasn't been lost in the mail. :-/

 

Got my package today from Kesra Kyse! It's really lovely - suits her personality very well Thank you so much! (and the necklace was awesome - just the right length, and that d20 is gorgeous)

 

Still no sign of my package, here's hoping it arrives while I'm away at a convention this weekend! *crosses fingers*

might be my own fault though. i wasn't really thinking when i entered one of my dolls at random. sort of forgot he was a vampire........ so maybe too hard for my partner.

I tailored my choice to the theme so hopefully it should have been easy for my partner! ^__^ I'm just hoping that it's because I'm in the UK and I've probably got an international partner and we've just had a Bank Holiday Maybe it's the same for you because you're in Australia kez?

 

I didn't make something for you, but my partner is in the UK too and I shipped their package on the 15th. I haven't heard from my partner, so maybe the packages are still on the way.

 

As it happened my partner very kindly contacted me to let me know that my parcel had been returned to them twice! So I gave her my address again and we're hoping for third time's the charm I have a really stupid countryside middle-of-nowhere address I hope you get a message from your partner soon Muisje!

 

I PMed my swap partner to ask if the package arrived and it did. Phew, that's one worry less.

 

So what do we do with our partners if they didn't try to put pictures in the thread or stop by this thread to say thanks? My swap partner didn't let me know the package arrived until I pestered her days after the fact, and when I did, she said I didn't put my username on it. I have a witness who watched me put my username on the packaging no less than twice, in different locations. Now I'm not typically bothered by things like this, but, like others who've run into this issue this year, I worked really hard on this gift and I'm a bit disappointed that my partner couldn't find any time in the last four weeks+ to take pictures or even go to the thread to say thanks. (I even sent her a post politely asking her to come in to the thread and say SOMETHING so that I didn't look like I didn't send anything out. She sent her gift out to her person, so she participated at least that much, but a long standing member like this would have known the rules and would have known what was expected of her in this swap. Can we make a post in their feedback threads or something to warn other people in swaps what to expect?

Also, if someone ends up not getting anything from their partner, I'd be honored to make replacement gifts.

My swap partner explained that her doll is still waiting for a wig and I made a hat, so it doesn't fit on the bald head. That's why she didn't take any pictures yet, so I'm going to upload one of my own soon.

Sister-of-charity, I get your frustration. It is part of the rules to let people know you received your swap items and although no financial damage is suffered when people break that rule (it's not the same as not sending out anything), but the rule is there to make things nice for everyone.

 

Sorry for the late check in. I got my gift from my swap partner some time ago but school, health and a camera that works only after some serious magic has been called upon have kept me from posting pictures.

So many thanks to Sharkyra and B.B. for such adorable things sent to Raxis. He hasn't let go of his teddy bear since he got it. I'll send a more proper pm your way ^__^

 

It was loads of fun! Thanks for all the trouble organising the swap, Truffle. I may join again, if there's another DoA swap in the future.

 

My partner told me yesterday by PM that she had received the gifts sometime ago, but real life problems get in the way. I shipped it with a tracking number, that's why I knew it got there... >.> I am patiently waiting for her photos, and I'm definitely glad that she had received them... I hope everyone else did the same thing? Without a tracking number, it's quite easy for a package to get lost, and you will have no way of telling whether your package is being returned to you or kept in a post office somewhere... >.< Now where's mine?

 

I didn't get tracking at my own risk, because shipping with tracking would cost more than the $15 value of the items. I figured it would be easier to remake the items if they didn't arrive and ship again than pay a lot for shipping costs, although now I feel that the extra money is worth the extra piece of mind. I was worried for over a month, because I heard nothing from my swap partner. (She did explain why she didn't get in touch sooner.)

I hope the people who are still waiting will receive their items, otherwise I'd like to volunteer like sister-of-charity to make something for someone who didn't get anything.

I got my gift today from Sims and Milk!! There were some shipping problems but it arrived safely finally and it was COMPLETELY worth the wait! Absolutely everything is perfect and Sims has been such a kind and friendly swap partner ^____^ I will post pics really really soon!!
