Discussion DoA 5th Anniversary LUTS LE Doll Discussion

I didn't think I'd want this doll. I've been pretty safe from Luts for a long while, but this guy is WAY TOO FREAKING COOL.

I'm in love with everything. @_@ The outfit and the armour and aaaagh! I've always liked Abadon and an SSDF is kind of cool. Layaway is just an added bonus! Ack, I'm going to have to contemplate this hardcore.

Yeah I was totally impressed with that too. How nice of them to spell it out so! If he was to be your first big doll (and what a doll that would be) it would help to have the payment information laid out like that. I wish it had been that clear-cut on the first doll that I bought.

So with everything plus shipping it comes to about $1,100. Throw a $400 first deposit down and then two more payments of $350 to go. Yeah think I got it figured out. @.@

Totally new to this doll...human parts?...does that mean the limbs in armor are not human, but the limbs themselves? Like there's no arm underneath its just all armor? Sorry if this has been asked already. >.>

 

He is truly amazing. I just love the armor colors they chose. The outfit is perfect and the face ups are far too beautiful not to get. The eyes are gorgeous too!

I need to do some photo hunting to make sure he'll fit in head-size wise with my primarily Soom, Migidoll and Iplehouse collection, but I think the beautiful knight will be coming to keep guard over the gods and sprites of Soom.

 

Oh, they have all the prices up too! I see now, you have to add in the sleeping head and such separately. So base price will be a very realisting $670.00, and full-set is $1155.00 if you do all the faceup options, cool! If you're into getting all the bits and painting them yourself, it's still an awfully sweet 885.00, and who is not going to go for the sleeping head? LOL! This is very amazing of Luts, I send a virtual pat on the back to them, putting the pictures up in enough time to let everyone ogle and save monies.

Plus, still super-amazed on the layaway!

The armor arms and legs are casted in that black/navy resin. So for him to wear human clothes, you will need to swap out his arm and legs. Like Soom MD, Bix

I'm torn between wanting to purchase him and not wanting to because he has all this armor on him that I probably won't leave on him for very long since he'd be the odd one out among all my dolls. xD; But gah, they're so pretty! >< Oh, what will I do now. XD I'm just so glad he's available till mid October cause if I do end up purchasing him I'll probably get the full set - thank god for layaways. But oh. ): Decisions, decisions!

This means I won't have to worry about saving up all the money at first and then paying it off in one go!!!

Luckily, I get paid bi-monthly, so I should be able to get him paid off in a month's time.

I can't wait until I have this big, pretty boy on my doorstep! Though amusingly enough, his head will probably get swapped kind of fast for the Gary head I have at home just until I can get the Abadon heads painted. They're going to be sharing the body, all three of them. But that's just fine with me, since they're all going to be different versions of essentially the same character. One will be movie-style Dracula, the other will be Hellsing-manga style Alucard.

EEEEEEEH, I'm getting my dream doll AND a body for my surprise-dream-doll all at the same time!!!!!

Now, I just need to get him a set of those new long-nailed ball-jointed-fingered boy hands that just came out, so he can have his Dracula claws.

 

WHY ARMOUR?! Ugh, this weakness runs deep. I really want the full set, but I'd be content with just the armoured body parts. TEMPTATION! I hereby set declare that I am not allowed to buy other dolls until my Euclase is complete. There, I saved myself. Once he has a body & faceup, I'm all over the Marketplace for Blue Knight armour parts!

Llll...aaa..yaway??? ....I am totally DOOMED!

 

I'm in love with the non-dreaming head , I didn't see the improvement on the Abandon head with the initial non-color teasers but now, I def do. I've been planning on getting an Abandon although much, much later though but I'm going to have to get on a split for that head now. SSDF body is still too much for me but if he is like all the other SSDF he should fit fine on a SDF body.

 

The pricing on him, even with the options, is much more reasonable than I expected it would be with all the special features they were showing us with this lovely guy. Even so, I don't think I can swing him with the current budget, but I will absolutely be looking forward to seeing the pictures of this gorgeous guy when he comes home to (what I'm betting will be many!) folks here! If I could? Oh, I would in a heartbeat. He's a stunner!

 

I'm considering getting him (I have to make a choice between him and another...I'll be done with my other layaway by then) and I'll be doing it at the end of the ordering period (most likely) and going on layaway...-_-;; I just realized how much it's going to cost to get all those parts with shipping. (I want all the human parts...but none of the armor, etc) OH~ Fun stuff in my future. xD I hate you Luts...really...I do... ._.

I'm totaly impressed too. and Dreaming head.........I think I can make SSDf abadon twins..(sorry for my regen..but...Q_Q; ) Actually My Plan is NoMoreDolls...but Luts is Killing me

 

So you cannot use this armor on another body XD

This doll is not my style at all but I like the face-up very much.

 

I hope this isn't a stupid question but I really can't see it so..could someone point out what's the difference in facial features between regular Abadon head and the armour one?

btw, does anyone else think the uncolored handle part of the sword looks kinda unfinish compared to everything else?

 

I really do like it now that they've released the official photo's but the only downfall is his hair, to be honest that colour doesn't really suit him that well >.> It'd have looked better black or just plain blonde instead of that off gingery blonde colour D:

But either way I'm sooo buying him @_@

Sadly, I can't afford him because I got Soomed *shakes fist at Soom* and because of other issues that require my monies.

But I do know that one year from now, when I look back, I will regret not being able to get this doll - the same way I regret not buying a Soom Sard when he was released XD

I am so so so psyched about him, I'm going nuts right now. My money is beyond tight right now but I just cannot pass him up. I know I will regret it if I do not get him. I'm going to have to go through more stuff to see what I can sell.

We have to plan a meet up sometime soon. I don't want to wait until next summer!

 

XD HOORAH for not beeing Soomed this month! He'll be mine on layaway but I have to have him without faceup and other painting i think it will be lovely to paint him myself.... lol may get the normal limbs for him too but then again I may not... I havn't decided how far my wallet will stretch yet.

I am so, so glad that this guy has a layaway option. *__* I guess given the potential price of him (entirely fullset, this guy is expensive as an Art Delf!!), Luts figured that thye'd get more sales if people could purchase them on layaway.

I hope people don't default on their layaways, because then maybe it might prompt Luts to allow layaways for ordinary orders as well (at least if the order exceeds a certain amount)!! *__*

 

Oh my....he is a must! I'm not interested in the human parts as he'll stay in his painted armor but all the rest....*sigh*.

Well, damn. They offer layaway, he's on an SSDF body, he comes with the armor and there's an option to buy non-armored arms and legs, he has an optional Abadon sleeping head, and (unless I'm reading that wrong) he's in normal skin tone, not white skin?

I'm sold. Layaway, here I come. I was already planning for my next doll purchase to be an SSDF body, anyway. Excellent timing.

 

omg, I just got to work and told one of my co-workers about him. lol, she could tell how excited I am about him. XD I'm shaking with excitement for this guy it's already driving me mad. I need to think up a name for him too, but I have plenty of time for that.

I hope that I will have him by the end of the year. He'd make the best Christmas present! Though I wouldn't complain if he got here sooner.

 

ya know, if Luts put all the pieces together I dont think theyd sell as many. Theyre VERY smart in also doing layaway as I believe it will draw more people into wanting him = D VERY VERY smart on their part. Also I wonder if they'll ever re-release a sleepy version of Abandon after this event?

 

Hm, I think I'm not going to get the regular parts for him because I love him with his armor. That will save me some money. Though I need to get him painted, face-uped and the extra head.

I really hope they eventually add more fantasy types like him. I do love the elves but we need more variety! A female Valkyrie to match him would be awesome.

Kinda agreeing on the wig, though. It makes him look a little too ACTION HERO ZIIIING SHWAAAAA BIFF! I was also hoping the paint would be a little more blue ;_; But all the same, he's gorgeous XD

 

God the armour and accessories and EVERYTHING is just gorgeous. I think I would KILL to have the opportunity to paint that armour!! Heck, I would paint it for free, just let me at it! *makes desperate grabby hands*

 

The paint looks super complicated IMO. LOL Id probably not attempt because Id screw it up LMAO.

 

Loving this guy to death, but I am wondering about a few things. Luts mentions having to buy the normal legs and arm, but I didn't see the price or option listed anywhere. Or am I blind and missing it? And I've never bought a LE from Luts, do they include sanding services?

 

No I dont see it either. I think it may still be determined since they dont sell until Sept 1. But thats just a thought, they may put it out later tonight. Not sure. And LE are very rare deal at Luts. They dont usually do this. But DOA worked with Luts to create this Hunk! So honestly Im not sure if hes sanded, but from the pictures it looks like it. I also see like a vein popping out his arm LOL

To find all the info, go to the luts site and then click on the Untold Story link and you will see all the option parts and the prices. Painting is $170, body parts are $130, and the extra head is $85 or $135 with face-up.

I always loved Abadon and he's been on my wishlist since forever!! I will probably need a layaway, but I'm totally decided to get this guy... ;_;
I would try to paint his armor by myself, it seems really complicated but I hope I will have the patience to do it and not mess everything up. >.<"

I'm just TOTALLY in love with the Dreaming head. Dreaming dolls are my weak point, haha. xD

I have to admit, I'm not big on that wig, either, but that could just be because I plan on having black wigs for him most of the time, which is the complete opposite.

I've also had to go and start budgetting for myself how much I'll need to pay for the dolls I need to get to go with "Abacard." :P All told, since he's going to be sharing that body with my Gary Oldman, I need a Shiwoo Vampire Delf and a Karen head (which will share the Delf body. :P ) to be the Abadon/Gary dolls' partners. I'm soooo excited, it'sgoing to be awwwwesome!

I was wondering: Part of me wants to mod the dreaming head to have a certain expression that I wanted a dreaming Abadon to be produced so I could make it for a while now. But at the same time, the thought of taking a dremel to that head is almost painful! Do you think Luts will allow us to buy more then one dreaming head when we order the boy? Or do we have to order a completely new full set to get two heads?

 

Even though I have to wait till the end of the ordering Period. I am getting him! >w< I'm so excited! I'm really afraid of his shipping cost! > 3 < BUT I DON'T CARE! Youd mod idea sounds neat ^___^ But I think Luts is only allowing 1 head per- LE order. Though having 2 would be awesome! Never hurts to ask = D

 

Ooh, I'm waiting to see when he goes for sale. My boyfriend really likes him so far.

 

My favorite part of this all is his face up. I think its to die for. I mean common, you look at it and it melts apart of your soul away LOL. Not only that but I like the fact that hes 70cm. Perfect for my 65cm girl. I was actually pretty sad before thinking that he would be only 62.5 since the standard Abandon is on that body. But to my suprise hes 70cm! This must be fate.. or thats what Ill keep telling myself. LOL.

Those legs are amazing! and so are the feet/shoes. I thinks its really neat how doll companies are thinking out of the box.

 

i actually think the strawberry blonde looks nice. Reminds me of Legend of zelda and the colour of a Hylians hair. ^^ He is sooooooo perfect for one of my lads hehehe heres hoping i can afford him haha!
