I love Luts dolls, should be interesting to see what they come up with.

 

This is a really wonderful thing for Luts to do! I think it's really wonderful to see them not only working with the community, but doing something to commemorate the forum. It's also awesome to see a peek into the design process -- especially with designs that look so incredibly nifty.

Many thanks to Luts on this one, and to the mods for working with them to do something this special!

The first pictures looks very promising.
Will he (?) be a "normal" limited to buy on the Luts-side or how will it work?

 

I wonder how big he'll be. Like SSDF or SDF... A limited JD would be cool, not something you can really get anywhere else.

 

I'm so excited about this concept! I think I'm going to save up all my pennies now! This is going to be great...we can see the daily progress. OK, I've subscribed to this thread now. I've got my eye on you...

If I could I would give a "BIG HUG" to all the mods...thanks - this will be a blast!

How awesome, a special limited! Elf ears means it's almost certainly not for me (which my bank account is happy about) but I can't wait to see how it turns out!

 

I think it's a boy, if the drawings are even close to final - look at the one at the very top where you can see a breastplate - looks like a boy's chest to me. Isn't this cool? it's so cool they are doing a doll just for DOA!

 

I don't care much for elf ears either. I wonder if they will do like other companies and do some removable/interchangeable ones.

Oh my! How awesome! I wonder if this will be an entirely new head sculpt, or maybe an elf version of a current sculpt? Teh sketches remind me of Moon.

That's my concern! I'm going on a big vacation right now, I don't know if I'll have the funds to afford him when he's released. I don't even know if I'll want him, but if he shapes up the way I think, I might have to. xD;

I agree! This is so cool that they're doing a limited edition doll just for DoA! It's so considerate. This totally ups LUTS reputation in my eyes. 3
LUTS LE dolls are something to look forward to! But if it's a head, I'll be sure to nab that. My dream doll will just have to wait. -sigh- But if it's a full doll with clothing and all that jazz, I don't think I can get him at all. :c

I.... see something in the preliminary sketches that looks vaguely like a futuristic face-shield. Or it does to me at least. Could be woefully mistaken, but HOLY CRAP, sci-fi themed doll! I think I would have a small conniption fit, I really, really do.

Those drawings are AWESOME! I love the cool futuristic visor he has - looks like it fits over his elf ears, how awesome... but Luts does not accept layaway! No way I could get him by next month *sadface*

XD Not only does the doll look like s/he is going to be utterly gorgeous, it's also amazing that they're doing this for DoA: it really does show their appreciation and their happiness in helping with the celebrations~ LUTS =

I just hope that I can somehow scrounge up enough money because... want. *O*

 

Thanks to the mods for keeping us all in the production loop by showing progress pics. He so far looks pretty awesome and I will be really interested to see his transformation from these great drawings to the doll itself!

unless there is a lay-away option I'm out of the running too....... (the nature of the beast, NOT a complaint)

will just have to make do with progress pictures, and then pic-spam............

I love seeing these production shots! Nice to see that the amazing designers at Luts start out a project the same way as anybody else; a lump of clay (or apoxie? resin?) held up to a piece of paper.

I am dying to know if it will be a new sculpt or just an LE of an already existing one!

I like his face so far too. Geez this guy might end up being my first limited...

I wish he was MSD, though it doesn't look like he will be. I have so many big dolls planned, I'd love a smaller one. xD

Wow, it is going to be so neat seeing Luts designing a doll! And they get, like, a million awesome points for doing this for us. That is just beyond amazing of them.

I luckily have some monies saved in anticipation of various summer events, so I could probably afford this guy/gal . . . I am excited to see how this doll will come out! I hope it is a new headmold. As much as I enjoy seeing wonderfully done fullsets, I find new headmolds potentially far more enticing to my wallet.

 

Gahhh seeing LUTS development pictures is like... Christmas in July XDDD And LUTS Artist's are so awesome I can't wait to see more!!!

 

If the doll turns out like the concept pictures...my wallet is going to cry XD I'd love a sci-fi/fantasy doll!

OK! So I gathered as much as it is probably a boy (if it is - I AM ECSTATIC) and he will have wings (NOT elf ears)...OOOOOOOOOOOO I am so excited! Picture #2 is a TEASE...

 

This is pretty cool! I love seeing how a doll comes to life. Pretty impressive that Luts is willing to do this for us. I wonder what size he's going to be? He better not be too pretty or I'm going to be bummed. No $ = no pretty dollies.
