so I'm pretty sure I'm getting him and i don't think ill need layaway either! hurray!

 

Ill be getting him 100%. I love his face. And I think he looks very mature and manly. Yet pretty. LOL. Hopeing to Order soon. Though I do wonder how long it will take them to make him considering he has all this fancy smancy things included XP

 

i'm hoping not too long.. but after waiting for a soom monthly im ok with the long waits lol

Wow, that's so cool of them! The doll looks amazing! I still won't be able to get him, but the thought that they would add layaway for this doll warms my heart. You go Luts! You guys are awesome!

 

Will the regular arm/leg parts be limited too? I may be able to get him, but I wont be able to afford the extra limbs right now. T_T

I am sooooooo in love and so happy that they are going to offer layaway! I'd love to buy 2 of them (a body for each head) but that would get a bit too expensive. I keep getting this vision of twin warriors! Oh well, I'll just see what I can afford and try to be happy with that.

Just wondering if anyone else gets Soul Calibur (specifically Siegfried/Nightmare) vibes from this guy?

If I manage to sell off all the resin I have up for sale (the Winter and Koji heads, and my Yder), then I'll probably have enough to get Abadon in his basic form (SSDF body + both heads), which is what I want. I'd split off the rest, since although I like them, I know I'd never end up using them. ^^;; They're pretty to look at and play with, but given how my abadon character is nothing like that...who would I put it on?? ^^;;

I hope my random sales go well, since it's probably the only way I'd be able to afford this guy. :C (What little I can save from my allowance--food costs are way high--won't be enough, given the exchange rate.)



One thing I was wondering. For those who opt not to get the armour painting, are the gems still glued in? Because in order to get the armour bits painted, those pieces would have to be coated, and wouldn't the spray get all over the little gems if they were already set in?

 

Everything that is available (arms/legs, extra head etc.) for him must be purchased with him or the order will be cancelled per Luts site. I know it sucks.

If you look at the unpainted parts, the gems are still in so I assume they are already guled and set into the resin. You would just have to put tape or something over the gems so you can spray.

 

Yea theyre limited $130 extra for 2 legs and 1 left arm.

I know the first payment, I'll be able to pay about half down, so my next two payments won't be that bad, which makes me happy.

I'm also wondering about the production time, but since they'll be making him the instant you make your first payment, I don't think we'll have as long to wait as for the Soom monthlies. hopefully since they don't do dolls like this often, they won't have overwhelmed themselves like some think SOom has done and it'll be a normal shipping period.

 

Agreed. Im glad that Luts doesnt do something like this every month. But then again who knows if they get enough sales they may offer layaway and maybe even more exotic dollies too. Abadon is perfect for my Requiem or I may make the sleeping head and the open head my characters of Deimos and Phobos. Though theyre not really my characters. But you get my drift LOL. We've got a couple more days until theyre all for sale = D

@ kiradyn: nope soom waits until you're done paying... which is why some people have been waiting 7+ months for their dolls ._.

On a happier note i will be able to pay him off fully (no blushing or faceup though) about midway through september

 

Ack, all of my bills are due next week so I don't think I'll be able to order him until the middle of the month. But it's better than spending money I don't have on him. But, I want him bad enough where I'm tempted to XD

Not quite true, actually, they will start production on everything that's on layaway at some point, because if a layaway is cancelled, even very late, the doll is put up for sale again. It's happened with Onyx, and I currently, yes seriously, have a Topaz from the Soom site on layaway, LOL! I couldn't get the dratted wig however, they're not making them at this point and whoever ordered her originally didn't have that as part of their order.

So the answer is that they do make them all at some point, but however many were on layaway/paid off at some point is the number they will definitely 'make'.

OMG I never thought I would want another. I have been very happy with my small dolly family but he is a definite must have. Now to convince hubby to let me order him.

 

Yes, don't put him off because he is limited and you'll regret it. And he's specially made for us...even though other people can order him too. Aw well. I still love him which is why one of his pics is my background XD

 

Love. Want. Can't afford. I wish I had $1100 to get him, but unfortunately, I don't. Hopefully someone near me will get one and I'll be able to see it in person.

Yay! I found a split to hop on, so I don't have to try and save up to afford majority of ny own split! 8D Happiness!! I mean, the full set is just awesome, but I know I'd end up just admiring some of the pieces without playing with them, and it'd be such a waste. ._.

 

so i'm confused. The body he comes w/ has the body armor attached. So there's no way to remove them? Thus we have to pay extra for the regular body parts? He's a bit more expensive now after calculating everything. Still getting him, but i may have to give something else up in order to not feel guilty >_<.

 

The armor is molded on to the legs and arm and isn't removable. I kind of wish it was separate as it could be used on other dolls, but that is a minor quibble in light of his gorgeousness.

 

That's what i figured...but it does make him so much more limited/special that way . Thanks siriusstar! Kind of a pain to know that his extra 'human' parts are so expensive though . But i need them since he'll be sharing his body w/ other heads. This may lead me to put him on a short layaway . At the same time thank goodness it is an option .

 

Well, his "armor" can potentially be used on other dolls, but only if the armored limbs will fit on them (in place of their own limbs).

I'm a freak, and only want his torso and human arms, for a totally unrelated project. XD

 

LOL me too. I am hoping that if I leave enough pics of him laying around hubby will feel sorry for me and let me order him. I am appealing to the money side of him with the fact that he is a very sound investment as he will be very limited and should hold his value, when in truth I don't really care he is the perfect companion for Wing and Renee. He would fit so well into my idea of them and their lives together. Every good story needs a good antagonist LOL.

 

I'm hoping to put a character head on this body. I LOVE the armor. And I'm infatuated with the idea of Perth in it, even if he doesn't wear armor in the comic. XDDD

Question is, if the armor is molded on, how do the pants go on?

 

Dech>> I think only the arm armour parts are sculpted on, since they don't seem to be offering normal leg parts for sale. And yeah, the pants problem. @_@

 

Ohhhh, so I wonder how the leg armor fits on? Split in half and snaps in place?

 

no the human body parts include the left arm and both legs. the armor is not removable otherwise.

 

Oh, then how does he get his pants on? Surely he must be wearing them? O_O!!

Or Is it that the upper arm and thigh pieces are detatchable (the thigh section of the knee joint looks to be normal realskin colour, compared to the black/navy of the shin segment) while the forearm and shin parts are the fully sculpted on bits? Because what's covering his thighs does look like fabric.

The leg parts that they sell are from the Knee down so it looks as though the pants are really more like shorts that only go about knee length and the upper part of the leg armor (the thigh part) is removable and snaps on over the bottom of the pants.

Ahh, LUTS has made a fantastic doll -- there's a part of me that really wants him because of the superb craftsmanship, especially the armour! And such eye candy! But I'm a bit more cool now that everything's revealed... (SSDF is also a bit big for me. >_<) He is fabulous though, I would really like to see owner pictures eventually.

Hats off to LUTS for doing this for Den of Angels, Blue Knight Abadon is one of the most impressive sculpts I've seen! Maybe this will set the standard for sculpted resin armour... I'd be thrilled to see more armoured dolls in future!

Has anyone else read the "Untold Story" website? It looks like Luts has a few more in their plans. I mean, if you have the light side, you have to do a dark one, right?

 

Teeehehe, I also think he is veeeery clearly 'inspired' in Crystal sensei from saint Seiya anime... the cloak, the armor scheme and colors, the hair and all is soooo smilar XD. but he was one of my favourite characters from the series anyway XD!!

 

Just saw the website. It looks like the Untold Story dolls are going to be Luts response to the popularity of Soom's monthlies. I can't wait to see what other ideas they come up with! Other then Blue Knight Abadon, I can't wait to see what sort of demons they come up with. This should be fuuun!

 

Yes, I totally agree. I just really hope they keep up with the layaway option. ^_^ And I'm going to hope that they involve the regular Delfs in the Untold Story, too. Hey! A girl can hope, right?! XD

 

if they kept up layaway options for the untold story dolls, I'd possibly be even more Soomed for Luts then I am for Soom! I've always loved the Luts visual style a little more then Soom's. Either way, I plan on getting at least 1 Soom monthly doll in my life, and depending on what the other Untold Stories look, at least one more Untold Story doll. hahaha

 

I like the Luts dolls quite a bit and the only ones from Soom I like are the monthlys so this works out for me either way. This guy is going to be my first from Luts though I doubt he'll be the last

Me too. Soom's style is pretty, but Soom doll are more realistic proportions with smaller heads and would not fit in with any of the other dolls I own and/or plan to own. Luts dolls are more stylized, like my existing dolls, and would fit in.

I looooove this Abadon, especially his faceup and dreaming head! But I'm even more excited about the possibility of demons!

(Plus, I just love when companies release dolls according to a story/theme.)

 

it doesn't really have to do with realistic vs. stylized for me. There's just something about the Luts dolls that I adore. The head I have right now is a Gary Oldman minimee, so you can't get more realistic then that. mostly it's just 'cause the only dolls Soom sells that demands I buy it other then the monthlies would be Spinel and tanned Aren, and that's 'cause they have faces that most look like two characters I want to dollify.

That being said, I'm having a really hard time telling myself I don't want the face-ups Abadon has in the fullset, because I have plans for the head that involve my own face-ups! auuuugh!

It'll be nice to see what other Untold Stories Luts comes out with. hehehe

 

Can anyone tell me what the time difference is there (versus east coast USA.. GMT-5)?!? I want to make sure I stay awake long enough to place my order when it opens.


EDIT: Nevermind... I figured it out. Luts is GMT+9 time zone.

 

The armor is gorgeous~ But it seems the armor is only for the limited edition, wish luts will have armors for different size in the future.

 

Tomorrow is the day and it looks like I'm safe from the FL event so this works out. I will be able to pay him off faster!
