Do you put underwear before clothes on your doll?

I believe underwear is very important! Plus it helps avoid staining!

 

My boy wears underwear. But mostly just for fashion. They are dark too, so like his jeans, they can leave smudges. It really isn't so bad; just have to take time to clean your doll every once in a while. I got the smudges off my boy just fine with a wet Magic Eraser

 

Only if the clothes can still fit on with her wearing underwear. I feel guilty that my dolls sometimes go panty-less, but I try to sew them long dresses so bloomers can fit underneath.

 

None of my dolls have ever had underwear. However, once I get my DD, she will have to wear underthings due to the possibility of staining. I think stains on resin are easy enough to deal with if you have a magic eraser.

...Maybe I should order some dollie panties, though. :/

 

I myself do not use under-roo's on my dolls. Male or female. I admire people who pay attention to that detail at least.

 

Most of my dolls do have them. There's just something about the completeness of having cute lingerie or boxers on beneath an outfit that I like, though I have a couple of boys I haven't picked any up for yet. It's a lot easier to get away with the lack of them on guys that only ever wear pants.

 

Funny, I don't have my doll yet but when I was thinking of clothes and outfits, underwear (at least knickers) was a definite as I feel she'd be uncomfortable without!

 

None of my dolls wear underwear actually hahaha. Though I do want to buy some because I know that it can prevent stains.

 

Most of my dolls are girls and they mostly wear skirts and dresses so they usually do wear underwear to keep from flashing anyone, haha. Pants are usually a little tight to have anything underneath in my experience.

 

There is only one pair of underpants in our platoon I plan to purchase several sets of clothes, but not for wearing before clothing. I don't care about this ethical nuance. In addition, the outlines of panties look unsightly.

 

My SD boy almost always wears his boxer, but as for the others they basically never wear underwear. My MSD boy doesn't have any, and my MSD girl do have a pantie but since she has quite a big butt I have to make her wear streachy shorts or skirts tha would show the pantie's shape really well if she wore it. I sometimes make her wear it when she wears a large dress, but that's pretty much it, and I'm actually considering selling it.

 

I put undies like boxers and basic panties on my dollies given the fit under the clothing. Otherwise if it looks to bulky on my dolls they go without them because it looks to weird lol. But yeah most of the time mine wear them ^.^

 

I feel like I should but I haven't been able to find a pair I really like yet >.>
I would also be worried about the clothes not fitting for tight clothes or it showing through when I don't want it to.

 

I always either put white underwear on my dolls first before dressing them or an anti-stain body suit. Moreover I never put wigs on my dolls without putting a wig cap on first. I regularly check the white body suit, socks etc for staining and if I notice any marks all I have to do is wash those usually by hand. One of my dolls used to wear a pair of faux suede shoes in red, the dye rubbed off onto the socks but luckily not to the resin underneath so I always believe that white under-garments are essential. That's just my personal preference as I like to take care of my dolls as much as possible seeing as they are A.) beautiful and B.) expensive.

 

I've got a thing about panties. All my dolls must have underwear, at least panties.
This is the first clothes that new doll will get first of all (I sew by myself). But if it interfere with clothing (for example thin tights) I take off it easy.

 

My girl wears underwear just because I like knowing she is wearing some. I like to feel like she's appropriately covered. I don't know, it just makes her more real to me, I suppose.

 

When my dolls are wearing dresses, I would put panties on them. When they're wearing pants or tights, I forego the underwear as it just seems to get bunched up in the joints and be a nuisance more than anything else.

 

Only one of my dolls wears underwear for the time being so I'm not sure what my advice would be on this but !! its up to you I guess since they are your dolls and you know maybe just for photography purposes if u don't want to expose them while in dresses, underwear might be a good idea !

 

If the doll outfit comes with underthings, I put them on first - but heck many of my dolls are just naked under their clothing.

 

About half my guys wear underwear. If their character would wear them then they do.

 

My one girl that usually wears a dress has undies on. But none of my other dolls have any. I do have one pair of boxers for new dolls that don't have outfits yet.

 

I prefer undies for my dolls. They're very helpful for my white skin boy because he wears only black and white colors. The underwear also give a more realistic feeling to them, in my opinion.

 

Honestly it really depends! While underwear can help protect the resin from stains, it can also make their clothing bunchy and some clothes may even be too tight to fit underwear underneath. Then there is also the fact that underwear may be a cute way for girl dolls to cover up their bits during photoshoots and just in general when wearing skirts or other shorter clothes. Also, I just find underwear to be adorable!

 

I'd feel odd, about clothing them without underwear. I just wish I knew what was worn under hanfu, but it seems rude to just go up and say.."Hey..."

 

For me it depends on what they're wearing on the outside. If I ever get a male BJD I know he'll be covered so if he's in kimono, kilt, etc. and someone lifts him up to get a better look he wouldn't be

 

I used to insist on undies, but more times than not they seem to bunch up and make clothes harder to get on and off. plus panties seem to get stuck in the crotch area when I bend the legs to sit the doll down. But, if I put my girls in shorter skirts, I put on the modesty panties. Bras? Nah. I don't really even bother with socks (I know I really should to avoid staining in the feet but I hate socks on my own feet and for some reason it bothers me lol)

 

I feel bad that I don't, but that's mainly cause I don't have any for my dolls. I'm sure I'll get some for my dolls in the future tho. Some of them (namely my girls, who wear skirts/dresses) yeah... probably should get some panties for them..

 

I think it'd be kind of cool to have old fashioned lingerie, like a merry widow, and suspenders for stockings.

 

Currently my girl wears underwear and bloomers! She is a very modest lady. For me it comes down to the character's personality.

 

I personally always put on underwear on my Doll, I think the Doll is like a normal person. and it would be weird if they don't wear underwear. Also good for protection.

 

If they're wearing dresses and skirts they absolutely 100% need to be wearing underwear xD I'd be too embarrassed to take them outside without. Even when they're not wearing skirts and other 'dangerous' clothing I still feel more at ease when they're wearing a pair of boxers or panties under their pants, although sometimes I might forgo the use if it makes their pants bulk out too much.

 

Yes, but I am need to explore making stretch undies to avoid bunchiness under some clothing. I feel odd letting them go out in public with undies. My husband just laughs, but I think this a bit of a male view. He hates to wear it himself under working on projects around the house clothing.

 

All of my dolls wear underwear most of the time (always if they have dresses or skirts on) I tend to only let them go commando if they're wearing tights or really tight pants.

Even my 1/6th scale dolls wear little undies.

For me it is a modesty thing, I was brought up to be very proper when wearing skirts and I think it's rubbed off on how i clothe my dolls. Plus, most of the people I know are really immature and would TOTALLY point out the little coochies on dolls.

 

Only one of my girls has underwear on and that's because the dress is a bit short on her (she's 48 and it was made from a 45) so if she didn't have the underwear, she runs the risk of exposing herself to the world.

 

My girl has pointy nipples that seem to always pop out of her shirt so she wears a bra. I keep panties on her so her pants dont stain her thighs and crotch. Plus i have have people flip her skirts

 

My girlie is wearing this pretty pair of panties, but because she's wearing a skirt and I don't need no damn perverts peeking up my gal's skirt.

 

Since my dolls are tiny dolls,I dont put underwear for them.It's hard to wear other outfits after putting underwear.

 

The clothing my dolls are wearing at the moment doesn't stain, so I have no reason to put underwear on them. I wouldn't mind sewing together some bras and panties just so I get to make something pretty and lacy... but otherwise, underwear is not necessary for my dolls

 

Sure to girl, it depends on with boys. :P Some pants are too tight to take it with underwear :P

 

I think it would be better to wear underwear with skirts but otherwise it wouldn't really be necessary (unless no underwear creeps you out!)

 

For girls in dresses, yes, definitely. For the guys? It depends. I do have one in a full body suit of anti-stain underwear under his clothes and another one in tights under his. Then a third is commando, as is the one girl who wears pants.

 

I like undies just because it feels more realistic hahaha. I guess the idea of having my dolls wear undies just like I do is cool haha.

 

Both Johnny and Alistair wear drawers for an unusual reason. Both boys wear yukata during the hot months (like I wish I could). That's not much of a problem for Johnny but Alistair's legs like to splay apart when I wrestle him into a sitting position. His yukata is cut a little too narrow and thus ends up flying open. Rather than have Alistair's dolly junk for all to see I put him in some undies and find a way to fold his yukata so it stays shut while he's seated. Johnny could probably get away with going commando, but since he came with a pair of skivvies I usually just leave them as is.

Chloe isn't here yet, but she'll spend a lot of time in skirts and dresses so panties are a requirement. She'll likely wear her pink bloomers quite a bit too, provided the dress isn't too short. It's just a hangup that I have; I don't like seeing my doll's bare rear shining underneath a cute skirt or dress. Those little undies add a finishing touch.

 

For my girls in dresses, panties are a must. For the guys, I find that the undies either don't fit (pants too tight), or look odd (bunched up) with pants on. I would really like for all my dolls to wear a full set of undies under their clothes, but it's not practical with dolls.

 

I only have experience with guys, and their pants are tight enough without undies! I'd probably put undies on a skirted girl if I had one, though - unless she already had bloomers or something.

Yes. I actually dress in body stocking and then put underwear on. I haven't really noticed the underwear through clothing like some people say it sticks out like a sore thumb. Not for me.... yet.

 

Wow I feel like the odd one out! I say nah unless there was a definite reason to wear under garments; such as came with the outfit (or the underwear is the outfit), to cover up during a photoshoot, or maybe just for the sake of modesty while at a public meet up. Yeah I think those would be the only times I'd cover up my dolls. XD

 

I myself rarely do such thing as putting the doll underwear on under the clothes - only if it (or the lack of it ) ) is clearly visible even after all the clothes are put on, and I don't want any such. With some dresses that aren't suposed to have the underwear under them I obviously wouldn't put such on, and would even take them off if somehow they happen to be there - it's just not nice and would ruin the picture in my opinion so I put my time into watching after it.

Mostly none of the dolls I have do wear the underwear, and those who do rarely have anything else on - e.g. some sexy undies set is ok and nice, but putting them under some casual clothes seems not useful in my opinion.

 

Almost all of my dolls have underwear (I've just lost count on who does and who doesn't now ). They all should but I feel like I am forever ordering undies, socks, stockings...

I like all of my dolls undies to be different/ they suit the character. Personally I really like the idea of my dolls being being "completely dressed" from head to toe. I put a lot into commissioning their face up or blushing, dressing them and finding the right accessories, wigs and eyes. If my doll hasn't undies and socks then that just feels off for me. No undies totally makes sense though for my dolls who don't wear them on occasion.

In all honesty, I just think it's super cool that doll undies exist. Volks makes some really cute sets, the bras are even padded...I mean come on...how adorable.

 

agreed with a resin nthing foes on it that hasn't been cured in cold water with allot of salt. Undies are something I won't do unless for decor. I keep my bjd and their ilk dolls nude unless I'm messing with them. I have never had a doll stain on me knock on word

 

I didn't get to buy underwear for my doll since they're an added cost and maybe I'm a bit of a cheapskate, and with that said, my boy isn't wearing any underwear at the moment and it'd be like that for a long while since I have other monetary matters to attend to. He does have clothes on, if you're wondering. Can't leave him naked and sitting on my shelf. It's questionable, and he'd be more prone to damage that way.

 

My SD girl has some basic leotards that she wears all the time, unless it creates a problem with the clothes I put her in- either the straps are visible or it's too bulky. My boy is an IH SID with mobility joints, and he doesn't usually wear undies because they get sucked into all the joints. I have some tights for him when he's wearing robes, but when he's in jeans he is comando! My DZ MSD is always comando- but he wears big poofy pants that cover everything just fine

 

Both of my dolls have underwear that I normally keep on them. However if the underwear doesn't fit right with the outfit or bunches up weird with it I'll leave them off. So far only my YOSD has had that problem though.

 

depends on the clothes. for example i have a pair of pants for my msd that are white and rather see through so i use underwear for him with those pants ^-^
however for my doll chateau boy who has really tight pants i don't because they just isn't room for them lol ^^
so yeah it really just depends on the doll and the clothes they where.

 

This is interesting as I didn't realize how many people actually bother with underwear! I mean, these are DOLLS, not children! For me, underwear would just be something else to struggle with when dressing a doll and I don't like anything that might create unnecessary bulk. But I didn't think I would be the exception to the rule....which I guess I am.

 

I bet there are plenty of people who don't bother. I mean, it's not like the dolls are worried about being modest! I really only put them in undies so other folks aren't quite so freaked out when I'm sewing for the dolls and they're sitting around in the buff ...and they do that quite a lot....

 

I have underwear on the dolls depending on which kind of clothes they are wearing. If a female doll is wearing a skirt or dress then I am giving her underwear, but the male dolls rarely have underwear on.

 

well i made him underwear so he doesnt flash his bits around but its hard to pull it over pants v.v so he goes commando whenever wearing pants. though i hope it fits under skirts or puffy wide shorts if i ever chose to make some one day.

 

I personally put underwear bottoms on my dolls just because I feel weird if they don't have any! I know it's silly, as you won't even see it, but it's my doll therefore I do what I want.
