Do you have any damage on your dolls?

Sep 3, 2017

    1. My RS Song when I was wiring him for the first time, had the wire dig itself into the inside of his knee joint. I felt so bad for him cause it did NOT look pretty. It's only on the inside of the piece though so even when he's in shorts you can't see it.

My MSD girl Kazumi though... Her body came used from a cat friendly home. Apparently the cat tried to eat her body when it still had it's original head on. She now has a mark of it on her leg. I think it's funny.

    2. My dolls all have some yellowing. The only doll with damage is my Planetdoll Riz because a finger broke when she was shipped to me. I was very disappointed at first, but I superglued it back on and I can't even tell now. I'm pretty rough on my dolls because I like to play with them a lot, but I'm still scared to try any modding that might cause permanent damage.

    3. my first doll i got, i stupidly decided to wipe my first attempt of a faceup with acetone ( a lot of it ).... and then my second and third and forth (you get the picture) now when i look inside her poor head you can see areas behind her eyes due to weaken resin. Fortunately, i have no plans to ever sell her and at least the damage is only internal :/

    4. Some of my oldest ones have damaged face ups but I've never had damage to the resin thankfully

    5. I thought I did, once, cause my boy took a facedive off a freaking table. Was just sitting there, stable as can be and then WHOOP, there he goes. Luckily, he was fine. My Yesha has a crack on his arm but I bought him second hand and he already had the crack. It's like really small and you don't even notice it unless you're really looking for it.

    6. Due to photo shoots no. Due to an idiot husband yes
-dim Marianne (June) nose is very slightly flat due to landing on her nose (this was my fault and you can’t really tell)
-dollshe Bernard broken finger due to my husband knocking him off a shelf
-ellfdoll twiggy broken headcap (resin hook that helps hold the faceplate on was broken off) due to my husband knocking her off a shelf
-realpuki (his name is tinker) his resin wing mech the piece that holds the wing to the mech broke. So he has a wing he can’t use

    7. This is something that worries me, too. I’m so afraid they’ll topple over and get a scratch on their face.

I love photos of dolls that are posed outside. I’m glad yours didn’t get any damage to the face.

    8. I was doing a photoshoot with my doll sitting down then i turned around to grab his hat from the table then suddenly he fell on the ground and he was wearing glasses that time so it left a small dent on his nose :(

    9. Well lesse, my girl rynne, in a sense is completely damaged. Arms dont sit properly, due to bad casting, her feet wont lay flat, and getting her to stand is a lot of work. Her headcap is incredibly thin in some places, but that is all due to manufacturing mishaps from souldoll. I got her third hand and she came to me with a broken ankle cover (the little bit that goes over the string grip on her foot. But i personally have never damaged her.
As for my oldest doll, haru, i got him in 2008, and in 2014, 6 years after i got him, i was the stupidest doll parent and stood him up, unattended, on top of my desk/bookshelf. I bumped into the desk and down he went. I went into shock. The incident rendered him a broken ring finger and utter devastation on my behalf. The first injury is the hardest, i can say that much. But after i got it fixed and when i moved, i put him more securely, along with my other dolls, sitting down in a deep set shelf above a nest of stuffed animals that i store in front of the shelf, for safe keeping away from human traffic. Other than that im super duper careful with my kiddos

    10. Actually...Yes. It isn't done by me though. Two of my dolls got a broken finger during shipping from Germany to Thailand two month ago (I moved aboard). :( But I was so glad that the other 13 dolls arrived safety and the broken finger has already fixed. Shipping oversea is kinda risky after all.

    11. I am super protective of mine! I have handling gloves and a handkerchief she sits on. That being said I just got black marks on the back of her legs I need to scrub off from trying to put her on the top of a bookshelf..

    12. My doll has some very minor damage. Drew fell when I turned away and because I was outside on the pavement taking pictures his ear chipped. It's not noticeable unless you really look but basically the tip of his ear is just gone. He was completely fine otherwise but it really freaked me out. I couldn't find the chipped piece because it was so small but I don't really mind it, I just added it to his character.

    13. My first bjd arrived to me damaged, she had a crack at the bottom of her leg but it was very small, so hard to notice and easy to cover it up. The box was all damaged from shipping and handling :( but i am thankful that it is only small and easy to cover up.

    14. Many of my dolls have gotten knocked over or off a table at least once. So far the ony damage has been to one of my Soom fairies wings when it slid off my futon and one of the delicate points broke off. I have the peice, but havent glued it back on yet since the wings are awkward and I don't use them that much.

    15. I'm usually extremely careful with my two dolls, but there were a few times they've been bumped or scratched during photo shoots and dressing them. My 1/3 SD does have a little chip on her right ankle which I think it's from re stringing her. She also has a little dent on her head cap from when I dropped it on the floor. Lastly, her head has a few little scratches and tiny dents, but her head was secondhand so I don't think they were all from me. She is still in really good condition and is so beautiful! She's a little more durable than I thought!

    16. The usual broken/repaired fingers. One I just replaced the set of hands, the other I couldn't replace so I did repairs. I dropped my Soom Idrial down the stairs and broke one of her wings, but Soom replaced it for me when I contacted them. Then later of her her arms just fractured... So that is replaced too. Plus one of the spokes of the snowflake wings I got for her broke and had to be glued... She's had some bad luck!

    17. My boy has a random little green squiggle on his head. No idea where it came from or how he ended up with it it just appeared one day. I have reconciled myself to it, I could probably try and get it off with a magic eraser but I haven't gotten around to it and don't want to ruin his face up.

    18. -Broken finger due to doll falling over when I was taking pictures. Glued back on.
-Chipped blushing and minor damage to a modded dragon, who fell off his rock and managed to miss the "just-in-case-you-faceplant"-pillow.
-Wing of a wand broke off when it fell from my bed. Glued it back on.
-A bit of chipped blushing from faceplanting and posing.
-Chipped resin due to the resin being extremely thin (company's fault).
-Newbie doesn't know how to properly use forceps and damages arm (sanded the damage away).
-Wrist thingie from Fairyland littlefee broke off when I tried to gently remove the hand. Never happened to me before, with other fairyland dolls.
-Cracked the wrist joint of someone elses doll when restringing too tight :shudder. I bought new string, repaired the wrist with glue and epoxy and threw in lots of extra goodies to make up. Luckily the owner was okay with it and the wrist too. I made sure of that. Felt terrible about it.
-Stains from full set outfit, proved hard to remove entirely.
-Stains from red undies and other clothes, managed to remove those a lot easier.
-Glueing in magnets the wrong way and having to remove them, causing scratches. Noob mistake.
-Trying to mod dolls. :sweat Don't worry, I learned my lesson.

This makes me look like a bad owner doesn't it? :frownyblush:
I love my dollies and generally take good care of them. Even better care of other people's dolls. That one doll was an exception.

    19. When I received my Switch Seolrok I opened him from the bubble wrap to find that the ring finger on his right hand broke.. And! I tried super gluing it back but, it's a little off center.

    20. I have two boys in particular who like to fool me into thinking they can stand on their own and the start tipping over :|

I always have a mini heart attack when it happens. Luckily, they have proven their strength and durability by not breaking or cracking on me (yet), but my worst fear was realized when I noticed one of them had a chip in his faceup. :( (Breaking a finger?? Nah, man, I only care about the face!!) It's a tiny one, under his chin, so you forget it's there most of the time. But I'm really worried about it getting worse. The fear of it spreading is real! Man, his face is perfect the way it is. I don't want to have to do it over...

On the bright side, he now has a scar under his chin, just like me :whee:

    21. I left my doll standing on a table once and when I got up, she fell face first onto the table... It was horrific. Luckily, there was only minor damage on the tip of her nose which I was able to recover with a magic eraser.

    22. Oh yes ! I broke a couple of fingers and once one ear (a soom Amber who already had two fingers broken : she fall from a table)... I damaged some face-ups too but as I make them myself it's not a big deal.

    23. Fortunately, no :3nodding: But I've been extremely careful while handling them and my DD is always wearing her bodysuit to protect her from stains.
I'm mostly afraid of damaging the heads since the other body parts can always be exchanged for a decent price. In the next two months I should receive one of my heads from his first custom face up - I'm gonna be extra careful not to damage his beautiful face!

    24. I'm pretty careful with my crew, so they're generally in excellent shape... But there are a few exceptions-

I've managed to break off a finger twice in the last thirteen years. (One on Sjhan, due to a posing issue with a snowy hillside and a staff he was holding in JUST the wrong way, and another on Galen that's more mysterious. I blame a rogue jacket sleeve, but the exact circumstances of that one are still kind-of a WTF?!-thing. o_0 ) I ended up getting new hands in those cases rather than trying to repair the breaks.

Otherwise, Tien Jen has a small dent in one wrist (from an early run-in with my restringing tool). Chanter's bod has a chip on the back of his upper torso piece (That happened when the body was in transit to me, but wasn't really serious enough to demand a new part from company). Peregrine (my less-than-gently-handled-by-his-former-owner Sakaki) has a number of scratches and dings, and some rough spots around the edges of his headcap. He obviously had an active and adventurous life before he came to me. Camilla's face-up has lost a little blushing on one cheek. (I suspect that happened while she was stashed in the Head Box waiting for her bod. It looks like a rub from the foam around the inside of the face protector)... And Muninn, my Bliss, (who was purchased heavily-damaged, specifically as a "project doll"-) still has some signs of his original condition. You can tell he has a filled and sanded gouge in his forehead if you look under his wig, for instance, and even after extensive sanding, his yellowing remains a bit uneven and there are *still* a few light stains from the red and black tattoo that his first owner gave him (It was painted on bare, unsealed resin. I was actually surprised how much of it I *did* manage to get off. <_<)

    25. I've had most of my dolls for 8-13 years and, aside from some minor wig stains and wonky eyelashes, none of them have been been damaged. I think I've been very lucky.

    26. Haven't had any damage yet fortunately..although there is a very minor wig stain from the previous owner. I too am really protective over my doll xD

    27. Depends what you regard as damage.

Many of my dolls have signs of wear - I play with them because I regard them as playthings not ornaments that sit on a shelf and are never picked up or redressed. As the saying goes, "Mint-in-box is a waste of resin".

I re-dress them, change their wigs, pose them for pictures (or not for pictures, more often, I'm not a photographer unless i push myself to bother with pictures), I take them places, conventions, reenactment events, to visit friend s and on other truips, bring them to work with me and I'm not precious about them. I don't swathe them in bubblewrap or cushions, I put them in my regular bag (if they'll fit), wrap a bit of cloth around the head to prevent the faceup from getting rubbed, but that's about it.

Unless you don't do anything but leave them on a shelf or in their box, wear is inevitable, even if you do handle them with kid-gloves and wrap them for transportation. It will take longer to show up, but it will happen, just like yellowing will.

And accidents happen. Dolls can be accidentally dropped, just as anything else can. Shelves can collapse, people can stumble into things, knock things over etc.

    28. Luckily I haven't had any damage yet...but one of my boys likes to fall down all the time. I think he's the only one of my dolls that is bound to chip something at some point with how much he likes to fall off of everything. Hopefully I'm wrong. :sweat

    29. Cosmetic damage to faceups? It's a regular occurrence in my collection. I think it's because I live in a hot, dry climate-- maybe sealant just doesn't last, because it chips off eventually whereas my friends in other climates have had the same faces with no damage or chipping for years.

However, damage to the doll itself is extremely rare in my care. Resin is made of some extremely tough stuff! The only damages a doll has accrued in my care:
      - A chipped elbow on a DC Ada. I don't know what happened, but as I was taking photos to sell her, I noticed the chipped peanut. :(
      - A chipped chest piece on a Resinsoul Ming. Right between his pecs where a pointed piece on his torso meets, he snapped and it chipped. I absolutely will not buy a doll who has a chest piece that meets at a point, now.

I've received dolls with damages in the past-- a new Resinsoul Song who arrived with a badly chipped-out ankle, a new Impldoll ZIV who arrived with a grinding line around his neck and a rusty S-Hook, a secondhand Dollzone Zo with dented ankles (easy fix), and a secondhand Volks SD Mark with a completely broken knee piece (I knew about this damage, though)...it's been an adventure handling dollies with oopses going on. Good learning experience, at least!

(I'll probably cry if anyone's fingers break off, pff)

    30. After I got my first doll I wanted to do his faceup myself. I did educate myself beforehand, but not enough I guess. I ended up using a pretty much permanent sealant, which at first wasn't all too bad until I wanted to remove it. No matter how hard I scrubbed there was still patches of it left. So I, smart as I am, decided to put cotton wool soaked in acetone free nailpolish on his face, wrap it in plastic foil and leave it on for hours. The problem with this whole procedure was that the nailpolish actually had a "slight" green tint to it so I ended up staining his head horribly on all the parts where I had already managed to get the sealant off. He still has that same badly stained head, I just painted over the stains with black acrylic paint and gave him some warpaint. I do hope to get him a replacement head sooner or later. He is a Luts event gift head so I wasn't too worried about the money I lost but I felt sooo guilty.

    31. I just spent the evening gluing fingers back on. lol
Both my Dream of Doll Luke and Impldoll Alma had accidents that resulted in fingers being broken. Sadly because I'm lazy I only recently got off my butt to fix them. The last time I accidentally broke a doll was back on 2009 so I guess my good luck was bound to run out eventually.

    32. Fingers! ! Especially after I moved in long distance. That was a disaster of broken fingers. :doh

    33. One of my girls (an April Story Clover) came with the company faceup and a few days after receiving her I picked her up one day and she had a chip in her faceup, just above the eye. I have no idea how she got it because I hadn't even got round to dressing her yet. It's a real shame because she is really beautiful and I don't know how I can fix it without wiping her whole faceup off.
Apart from that I haven't had any damages to my dolls though, luckily.

    34. I always try to protect my dolls but for example one of my MSD, in his cushion, broke two fingers. So sometimes it's imposible to keep them safe and sound all the time.

And one of my yosd, with a new face up, suddenly he has a chip in an eyebrow :( and I don't know why :pout::...(:(

    35. I have a few that ended up with cosmetic damage to face ups and they need to be redone. I've been lucky over the years and there hasn't been serious damage, never broken a finger either *knock on wood*. My first doll did get a big crack in the back of his head a few months after I got him but that was repaired and has held strong ever since and now the neck piece on one of my minifees is sporting two big cracks but that happened due to age and stringing that was a tad too tight.

Other than those two issues all my dolls have stayed in good shape through the years.

    36. Although I do tend to be as careful as possible (and really panic if they have any kind of mishap), I've had a few dents, bruises, and breaks amongst my resin crew.

Starting off with the ones caused by external sources or situations, my Loongsoul Pharaur had a chip broken off of the back of his head (near the neck hole) when he arrived. I hadn't thought to ask about replacements, repairs or take photos of the box opening at the time, and ended up sanding it to round it out to look less pronounced. The XM Doll girl body I have Tauli on has chips on her ankles from her being strung fairly tight by the company. I also had the previous sculpt Tahmos used to have take a startling tumble off where I had him situated one night just as I was falling asleep, and dent his ear tip in the process. It left a mark, but I was able to remove the dent for the most part with heat application.

There's the usual expected yellowing, and the usual wear from being posed (and a few minor nicks from those darned S hooks). The only major damages I personally have caused are a broken finger on Nira (which I ordered a replacement set of hands for), and some damage to my first head from soaking it in some cleaner a little longer than I was supposed to. I was used to working with PVC plastic for faceups at the time, and was fairly new to working with resin.

I've done some major modding on a few of them (epoxy elf ears/additions, facial reconstructions), but I don't really consider that damage.:XD:

    37. I buy mainly secondhand and I buy mainly older dolls, so I've had many arrive already damaged. The only time this has bothered me was when I had a doll whose upper torso had a massive crack and the seller had not disclosed the damage beforehand. (Huge shoutout to ravendolls on this forum for an almost invisible repair that has held beautifully over the years!)

    38. I stupidly took my DC Ada to a friend's house because that doll was a style she liked (she's not a bjd person but she thinks they're neat) and her 10 year old some just grabs it up and starts playing with it jerking it around like any kid would with a much sturdier action figure. He ended up damaging an arm at the joint. Made me quite mad, but there's really nothing I could do since I knew how her kids have no manners of any kind...
Then I have a Doll Zone 1/4 body I bought to replace a body I wasn't fond of. When the body came in it had a small crack in the resin at one of the ankles. Never occurred to me to bring it up with where I bought it until it was much later. I've never had an issue because of it though. Other than that, a few of my dolls have had many spills due to poor posing, unstable/uneven footing, poorly strung dolls trying to assassinate other dolls, etc. but no real irreparable damage has been caused to any of them (except that poor Ada who now has to live with super glue on her elbow...)

    39. My dolls never have, but some of their clothes have.

    40. So far I just have some stains on my Dollfie Dreams but hopefully nothing more *knocks on wood*

    41. I haven't damaged any of my dolls, but many of my dolls have damage on them. I buy a lot of my dolls secondhand, and I've gotten pretty damn good at scrounging around for damaged dolls being sold at significantly reduced prices. I figure I can always cover up a chip or scrape, especially if it's somewhere on the body. I actually just bought a Leekeworld art body that has some pretty extensive issues, and I'm actually excited to start working on restoring it.

Right now the worst I have are the DC body I have my DZ Carter on (chips galore around the joints) and my DC Carol (one of her feathers was chipped off when the first owner got it from the company), but I cover these things up to the point where I don't notice/care about them.

    42. I had acrylic nails on for an event I went to and while dressing my doll I scratched her stomach. I recently just got around to sanding it off and you can't even tell there was anything wrong.

    43. Nothing major, but one of my dolls has eyelashes that kind of came unglued when I was fiddling with her eyes! But that can easily be fixed! I've just been too lazy to get around it...

    44. I have a tiny bump on one of my dolls from when I dropped one of my girlies because I was hopeful and wanted her to sit on my bed frame but she slid off as I sat down on the bed ;~;

    45. I have some damage on one of my Minifees I bought secondhand. I haven't tried sanding yet, but that may help. I'm a bit tentative, as I don't want to do it too much.

I did actually get one of my girls dirty today! First marks ever - I was using biro and it transferred onto her. I'm sure I can get it off with magic eraser though.

    46. I remember ages ago during an outside photoshoot some dust or sand particles got into knee and ankle joints of my doll and left them scratched. It was my first doll, so I panicked and ordered spare joints from the company to replace them.
Now I'm much more seasoned owner and I would probably just sand them as the damage was quite minor.

Beside the typical tiny chips on certain face-ups, body-blushing or scratches in sealant that are hardly visible: I bought a body with a missing finger with a plan to get it replaced one day - almost a year later, the doll is still missing the aforementioned finger. Now I'm planning to make a steampunk-ish fake finger instead.
I also received one of the bodies I bought second hand unstrung packed only in a bubblewrap envelope. Seeing the package probably cost me about 10 years of my life, but miraculously the only damage was a chip on the torso (inner chest part), which I could easily glue and support with a bit of hot glue layer put inside the cavity.

    47. The first day I opened my MDD Liliru, she somehow managed to get a stain on her forehead. Luckily it's hidden well enough by a wig, but I'm kind of terrified now that I'm expecting my first resin BJD with a face-up.

    48. One day, I ran into my room and the vibrations make my doll fell. He broke a finger. I nearly cried.

    49. I don't think I've caused any damage myself, but one of my dolls has a broken finger, and another has broken toes. Both have been repaired, and you can barely tell (especially since the girl with the broken toes wears shoes all the time). They arrived like this from previous owners (but it was damage I knew about).

I did have a doll arrive broken from the company, my Clover Doll body had a deep gauge/crack in the neck, but the piece has been replaced.

    50. My dolls do have a damage on their face-ups. The msc is rubbed away from their noses (shame on me) wich you can see only in special light.
Further there is yellowing, but I don't want to hide my dolls in boxes just to keep them un-yellowed. I want them to look at and to have fun with them! I love my dolls, yellow or not :3nodding:

    51. Just yesterday I dropped my Dark Elf Soo's headcap. That's the downside of old Delfs, either you attach the s hook to the headcap and then getting the head off is a pain or you tape the headcap on, and her tape came off.
It seemed fine though, and it is covered by the wig anyway.

I also bought a Souldoll Osu head with an eyelash falling off. It's been years, and I'm starting to think I may just have to find someone else to fix it because I am terrified of ruining his extremely limited faceup in my attempt to glue it back in place. Simple fix, but the fact that it's a 15 in the world faceup from a very long time ago scares me greatly.

    52. My SDgr has a little hole on his right hand near the joint from his previous owner but it's only the hand and it doesn't even bother me enough to go out of my way to buy him a new hand. Besides from that none of my dolls are damaged in any way! :XD:

    53. Attempting faceup for the first time and I managed to stain the head (didn’t spray enough base layers) and dropped it so now there’s a chip in it, luckily it’s cobered by a wig

I always get worried about taking my dolls out in case they get damaged since I’m so clumsy but I’m so glad it’s a relatively normal thing and there’s so many creative ideas to cover it up :blush

    54. No real damage, but a small stain on his torso from a previous tattoo. I went at it pretty hard with a magic eraser but it's just kind of on there now. It's small and light enough that I'm just going to say it's a birth mark and call it a day, haha.

My off topic Hujoos are a little worse off. My very first one has some stubborn staining on his face from my first faceup attempts that is really only noticeable under black light, and then it looks horrifying. He also has some super glue from a botched attempt to apply eyelashes that has some acrylic paint trapped under it. I also have a Hujoo Berry who has one of the little posts behind her eye snapped off. It happened the day I got her and that was disappointing. It doesn't really effect her much, though. Her eye used to pop out but extra putty fixed that.

    55. Ahhhh yes I remember my Resinsoul Xun when she arrived I was so excited and I was trying to be careful but unfortunately when I removed the hand protector one of her fingers snapped off but I did managed to put it back on with super glue and u can tell a little if u look close but her finger is back on and now I'm so very careful with all my ladies when I remove them from there boxes ..I still get mad at myself when I think of the snapped off finger

    56. So honestly I can think of a few off the top of my head but most of my dolls are much older, 5+ and 10+ years old, and almost all had other owners before me, and lastly I handle them a lot and sew for them and take them places sometimes... Some have unusual damages though they are I would say extremely minor, but if you are really handling your dolls frequently for a decade and more I just think there are some very minor damages that are inevitable. And many of them are more inevitable depending on how the company makes and strings their dolls too.
After a decade I don't think twice about:
Tiny scratches I can barely see, random dirt marks that will come off with magic eraser, minor uneven yellowing that you don't notice normally, the occasional joint ding or s-hook gouge that doesn't show, minor old paint inside lips or inner heads, pinprick stains on vinyl, faint wig stains.
I have a random doll here or there with anything else. Currently not a single broken finger around here! But one doll has a tooth mark from my cat becoming too curious, marina has always had a weird gouge on one boob that I always forget about, one doll has weird carving mods on some joints that never show, another doll has some scratches from my reversing some early mods years ago, and one of my dolls has two hastily removed nipples from the time she felt very tired standing on concrete.
I'm not a collector in the sense of mint in box stuff, never have been, never will be. But I take care to prevent accidents and unnecessary damage while still getting to handle them constantly and it works for me.

    57. I took my new Ajeong out to show some friends and on his return noticed he had a small scratch on his chin. No idea how that happened. I'm treating it as if he has a little scar on his chin (like Harrison Ford ....but smaller!)

Also notice that the pedicure is slightly damaged on his hands ... again no idea how!

Had thought that professional make up would be a bit stronger. We were all extremely careful with him.

My Hwayeon is however perfect and I'm more in love with him than ever. So much so that I wasn't even tempted by the recent Waeson sale. (Well I did want him in tan anyway!)

    58. Most of them are fine. I have one that I dropped before I even got him out of the box. The paint on his lip chipped, but it was easy to work that little 'scar' into his story so I didn't mind. As for meet ups, this isn't about damage to my doll, but damage my doll caused. My friend and I went to a meet up and her 1/6 was standing next to my sitting 1/3. When I picked up mine, his leg kicked out and smacked hers in the back of the head. Her doll went done and has a very small cut on her nose now. Thankfully, the damage is so small you wouldn't see it unless you already knew it was there and my friend wasn't angry at me. We mostly joke that since my doll's character is an outright villain, it makes sense he would be a jerk and kick someone. I'm very grateful my friend wasn't upset.

    59. i personally never damaged any of my dolls but i DID have an abusive ex that puposefully knocked my mnf mir off the shelf resulting in a huge chip and crack on his knee joint...im sure i could repair it with apoxie but hes a tan doll so itd be hard to match. Fairyland doesnt sell moe line boys anymore eith so its not like i can replace his body so instead he stays in a cabinet with a glass dorr and i very rarely take him out which makes me sad but i dont want him to get damaged anymore QAQ

    60. Hmmm none of my dolls have any chips or breaks or anything like that, but they all have various deep staining on their heads from their wigs. All of them are from back in like early '00 era where most wigs were held on with some velcro and otherwise sat directly on the resin - any dark wig would pretty much immediately end up staining your doll. These days wig caps are much more common and easy to get, so I'll be using those from now on! Still, it's not like the staining really bothers me since it is, naturally, covered up by the wig!

I haven't done too much with my dolls that might cause them to have accidental damage, but I'm sure at some point I absolutely will drop or knock over a doll. I'm terrified I'm gonna do that and a nose or finger is gonna snap off or something :sweat
I'm a very clumsy person so it feels like just a matter of time lol.
