@Koma It is hit and miss if he'd do it. He grants some requests, others not. So you just have to mail and ask...
If you aren't bothered with waiting a few days extra, I highly suggest you put that in the mail too. - Ask if your dolls bust could be switched with a different bust, and that you don't mind waiting longer for her to ship.
If you want different eyes in your doll, you are required to buy the eyes, and he'll have them replaced/inserted in the doll, so maybe he'd force you to purchase the extra bust anyway..?
But ask before you put in any orders!

I understand what you mean but that's not what I was trying to say. I'm not saying people are not allowed to criticize or even hate. I'm saying some people HATE it when others say nice things about Danny and his company and I don't worship Danny. I only told my story and like I said, I can't say bad things about him if I haven't experienced them but these people just get mad and offended for no reason.
The balance here is to not make it personal. Just because we don't say or agree on the same things doesn't mean I'm attacking you and vice versa.

 

Of course you don't have to say bad things about him just because others are. But denying others have had issues is not helping Smart Doll newbies from getting burned. "I've never had issues with company X, but there are many who have Y issues, you might wanna be cautious." Done! Unless someone didn't know about the problematic aspect of the ordering process/company, then I don't understand why someone would withhold that information...
Again, there are reasons to be "offended" at Danny's actions. But, once more, you will find bullies anywhere and everywhere who just... are like that.

You mean people shouldn't take Danny's words personally? Or just a general statement..?

If I want to know about a product I'm buying, I seek out reviews and take into account the positive and negative and decide. I detest others trying to have power over anyones decision. Believe it or not, people in good faith will have a discussion with you and not be invested in your decision, and will not get emotional. Authoritarian types have other over-arching themes; policing the message of how bad (or conversely how great) a product or creator is, insist you accept their message, even though their opinion may be based on faulty generalizations or conclusions. At worst, say you're a bad person if you don't agree. Another sign is those who do things like generate hostility so they can recruit another scolder-authoritarian type. This of course allows for mob pile-on.

My advice: assess the atmosphere of all discussions and withdraw accordingly.

 

@Koma Did you ever send the email? I wanted to tell you that I use my extra busts to store my Chaos heads. They do come in handy. I think, for the most part, the company likes to send the dolls out the way they are. One has to keep in mind that they are a very small company that has a lot of demand placed upon them. I really like my Smart Dolls. They pose very nicely and the Smart doll community is very active on Instagram. I wish you the best with your Smart Doll.

Well I am back. After dealing with dolls with stringing so tight and issues with weight and stressing my back I have decided to get my trail Smart Doll and get one for granddaughter. Her birthday and Christmas gift from me only. We are both getting Genesis. Mine in tea and hers in cinnamon. Photos of them not until the new year as her birthday is a week before Christmas.

 

@animemom Pretty much the main reason I went basically full-vinyl, over resin dolls. Light, and so easy to handle, right out of the box!
I just wish there where more vinyl dolls with the resin-doll aesthetic

 

I am fine with Smart Dolls as they are well made and good customer service and support. Just don't buy clothes unless really unique. I can get two pairs of TTYA jeans for price of one pair from Smart Doll.

 

Funny thing is, the first pair were made by ttya, and are the same, save for the Smartdoll label.

@animemom TTYA made the first SmartDoll jeans and shorts, so what TTYA offers are the same, except for the orange Mirai label. Just agreeing that you can get the same, but at a cheaper price.

My girl is here. Genesis in Tea. I swapped the wig my granddaughter's cinnamon Genesis came with for the one the tea version came with. For now she is Genesis, but a different name could happen.

I named my Genesis (version 1) Hero, he is on a male body. I named my random painted head Chaos for the chaos outlet and it has Hero's old body so have them as siblings. I am still working on a good name for my Kabuki, but she will get one in time once something clicks.

 

My second girl is on her way. DHL says she'll arrive on Monday. Can't wait to meet her.

Meet Bailey, a Tea Dauntless. She arrived today, 3 days ahead of schedule. I think they look good together. But I swear it looks like her bust is bigger. Maybe it's the sweater. LOL If the weather ever gets good I will take them outside for photos.

@Kayren-Twist oh so many sweeties! Also I really love love love when people customise Smart Doll girls into boys! Some of the girl heads make very beautiful boys. (I'm planning trying this myself. Got me some heads to try with. Just gotta get the body! XD )

 

The red outfit is from M+V Studios. They finally got an Etsy so I just had to order some stuff from there.
I do make a lot of clothes myself, even got an Etsy shop (GalaxySkiesDesign, currently pretty empty but I am working on a new update) but these kind of outfits are way too complicated for me :'D I do wish I had the skill. And the time mostly.

Thanks! I got more custom boys, but they are still at the faceup artist. Hanafubukidoll (on IG) is working on a COS and CAL head for two of my boys. I'll share them when they're home because they're pretty bad*ss :P And I now have Mirai as a young boy on a girl body with printed XS bust. It just worked better for me than having Mirai as a girl.

 

Anybody know what happened to Prowess Tea? I was looking at the website yesterday and she's nowhere to be seen. Was she discontinued?

I decided to splurge on an early christmas present for myself and ordered Dimension. I only have 1/6-1/4 BJDs and (way too many) American Girl dolls apart from her, so she looks positively enormous! The vinyl hands are delightful, I love how she can hold so many different things. I've got a pattern printed out ready to make more clothes for her, but I'm exhausted from some kind of cold at the moment... so I'm glad I also went nuts and ordered some clothes with her.

and shoes. I've learned my lesson. I can't make shoes, I will pay good money for doll shoes.

As far as I know she's not discontinued, just out of stock. I'm pretty sure I saw her in stock last week, but I think she sells fast at the moment. (For real, if she was discontinued then I would have put in a layaway on her like I did with Strength) ^^;

It was a chilly day, but I needed to get out of the house. So I took Dimension hunting for photo opportunities on top of a parking deck.

 

I’ve been lurking here since the beginning and am starting a savings account to finally bring home a Smart Doll. Still debating the sculpt and skin tone. Definitely anime style though. I’m really leaning towards a Chitose. Come on savings, go faster!

 

@kurogane Chitose is super cute in person with the little sculpted mouth. I'm hoping she gets released in pocket doll size one day so I can pick her up again.

 

@rainglow I think I’ve decided on a Chitose for sure. I’ve heard about the pocket size and would be thrilled to have that size too!

Oh at least I found forum here for smart dolls. I have 3 of them and I in love with those dolls. So easy to hold, dress and pose for photos
And it's not heavy as my bjd dolls.
Think so I will keepmy bjd collection and not buying new one. And in the future more smart dolls would like to come in my collection.
I have cinnamon Resilient classic Mirai cinnamon and mixed boy macho body with GO2 head on with custom face up

 

I’m a member of a few SmartDoll groups on Facebook which are pretty active. I think there’s a lot of people Instagram sharing photos too.

 

I recognised that smart doll community is more active as bjd community.
I love smart dolls. So easy to carry around and easy to dress up.

 

...I couldn't resist Resilience, she's perfect for a character I've needed to shell for a very, very long time... but I gotta admit, the unreleased girls that keep appearing on Instagram? Gorgeous!

Smart Dolls are much more dangerous for my wallet than BJDs.
