    2. My favorite is using the one I'm working on in the moment. :mwahaha I like all the sculpts I bought. I own the sculpts that got me into the hobby, although all were re-releases: Bermann, Hound, Saint and Bernard.

    3. I own the BlueFairy Tommy, CP Chiwoo, and the Volks Nana. I then managed to get my hands on a Volks Tohya so, yes, yes I do.

    4. I feel like I don't have a favorite mold exactly. There are so many wonderful faces I think it's too much to choose one. I guess my answer has to be yes and no, because I think it's easy to have some favorites you don't own and love to admire, but it would then inevitably be different (at least for me) to have them in person. I have dolls I own who I say are favorites but even between the ones I own I can't pick one as my favorite mold. I like different things about all of them.

    5. It depends. For Peakswoods I have clear favorite face sculpts which are Miro, Neo, Momo, Rosemii, etc. I only stick with the faces I like for Peakswoods except for the ones that don't allow head changes such as the new Sangun Hon/Hon and Changgwi Han/Han. Fortunately for me I like these new heads. I recently like Hunky Dory Blue as well. My absolute favorite so far for Peakswoods is Miro and Neo both human and non-human versions. I have Gumiho Miro and soon will purchase Gumiho Neo.

For Idealian, I can't find the right sculpt for me that I love. They are mostly all handsome, but with Idealian I mainly choose based on if the face sculpts fits most of my criteria and if I like the face up.

With Fairyland and Volks their face sculpts aren't really to my liking, but if I like the concepts I will buy the dolls.

For Rosen Lied (doesn't exist anymore), I chose based on body type and size. I wanted a good size doll that wasn't way too small and most of their face sculpts are beautiful in a bisque doll sort of way. I chose based in concept. They were my first dolls, so i didn't know what i liked or what i was doing. That's how i ended up buying my least favorite types of bjds which are baby, toddler, or child-like bjds. Even dolls that resemble teens are not my favorite.

For SartoriaJ, my favorite face sculpt as of now is Yu. I went crazy when I heard they were discontinuing her and bought three of Yu.

For some other companies I pick based on face sculpt, face up, outfit, concept, and etc if they are a full set doll option. If the company sells heads only or heads separately from the body only I choose based on a criteria I have for what I like. Most companies I dont have a favorite face sculpt. I buy based on what I like at the moment. My goal is to have many diverse faces that matches my preferences somewhat and a variety of different faces. I don't want all the same faces. Although I saw my gallery and a lot of the blank face sculpts I bought look a bit similar, so it's clear to me I have a clear preference I gravitate towards. I didn't notice at first.

I really enjoy looking on Instagram for owner's photos of a doll and to see the blank head or the ways the face can look with different face ups. I like to look at the resin color as well and compare if it looks close to the company photos.

To conclude, for some companies I buy based on their face ups and choose my favorite face sculpts. For other companies I choose based on concepts and don't care much for the face sculpts. There are times I choose a doll based on the resin color available as well disregarding the face sculpt or concepts.

    6. I'd say yes. Though she wasn't my favourite until the last year or so. I loved GOSICK and fell head over heels for the Victorique de Blois SD, but my favourites were still Shinku and Suigintou for a long time. It wasn't until I started stalking one-offs that I realised just how much I loved Victorique's face sculpt, and this June I was lucky enough to win a lottery entry to buy her :D
I also own two of the doll head I originally fell in love with when first finding about this hobby: DDH-03. An older, unpopular basic head, but the melancholy she displays is beautiful :chibi

    7. I wrote this back in 2012.... I still have Lance and Mui (my Syr and Justinian). Since that post I went on a long doll hiatus (almost 10 years) and only returned recently. But when I got Syr and Justinian out of storage, the love was still there, strong as ever.

So I guess this is my definition of "favourite": sculpts that I really like looking at, and also want to own for myself. I'm slowly getting mentally prepared to acquire more dolls (because, y'know, friends for Syr and Justin) but I'm using this as my benchmark of what to get next.
