Oh yay, @Miistery !! Lori dolls is a newer European dealer, right? Im USA, but I'd still order from them if they provided the deal. Something like that, Lori dolls could post an advertisement in the news section of DoA. I'm mainly after 5, but I'd totally chip in and buy a 4 if it was make-or-break to meet the limit!

Thank you! She is NS ^^. I'm putting her on a white skin body, that's why I paint her head, aside the face part, in white.

Has anyone looked at the statue of liberty head? It feels saintly and serene, but also unsettling in a way. I really like it. How would you display it though? A full doll (head+body+clothing) of it just feels strange. Maybe a bust of some kind, but I dont know where you'd find one that fits.

@BebeBjd ohh yeah I'm tempted by that head too... but I fear it would be too pricey if I got all those heads at the same time... but I would suggest going for a NakanaDoll head stand (on etsy). They are beautiful and with a neck circumference of 9cm, the liberty head has one of 9.5cm according to dollyplanet. I'll get one for the Ex Machina 1.0 head I got second hand

Question for anyone who has ordered an ex-machina 2.0 from Dollyplanet. They show a mechanic head and mechanic body in stock and am wondering if that means ready to ship?

 

I really regretted not having the no.5 head so this is great. This is a long shot question but do you think the 1/3rd size would work on a Bimong 58cm Narae body?

What is the expected wait time for an Ex-machina type 2? 6 months or more?

Flipping out totally about which skin tone and wondering if twins would be excessive. Currently have four heads in the cart. That would certainly be excessive and require layaway but oh so tempted. Conjoined No. 5 heads would be amazing!
I have two DZ 56cm girl bodies, maybe that body would work as its quite childlike.

I'm hoping to find a Ex Machina original once my layaways are paid, I am in need of her for my story, just hoping I'll be able to with the limited runs they do

 

Here's the no.5 measurements for 1/3 and 1/4, according to bjdcollectacy:

1/3 head: Head Circa around 22CM, Neck Circa 9CM.

1/4 head: Head Circa around 19.5CM, Neck Circa 7CM

Interesting... 19.5 is not a particularly small head; my 60cm girl has a 19cm head. These measurements look almost more like small SD and large SD to me lol. Now I'm even more indecisive...

 

FWIW, I ordered my Machina male (and 2.0) through Divas (in May and December of 2020 repsectively) and Divas informed me that Yuyu has JUST confirmed trying to send them an order but they don't know if it's any of my stuff. So I'd wager it's a long haul to get the 2.0s!

 

Maybe it can interested someone else. @redastor asks me questions about Dlace N.5 head and some bodies, so here is a picture of my N.5 (large size) on Dollstown Elf body:

Speaking of neat dlace stuff, i.... hope I got a no5 head >> I sent an email to dolly planet trying to start a layaway, and the head has since become "out of stock" soooo let's hope they say I can start it! I was going to just throw it in my cart and buy it outright if they hadn't gotten back to me by now, but, here we are.

I also messaged bjdivas to see if they were going to be a dealer for this head (didn't see anything about it) << let's hope at least one of them can help me!

 

@Lady Ravenswood that knife really surprised me too!! it's such a cool, fun idea, like a small easter egg... though the thrusters at the back had me rolling I was wondering if I could just get it for my 2.0 and whilst comparing sizes, I noticed that 1.0s head is bigger by a cm or two than 2.0s?? and 1.0 is half a cm taller?? I always thought of 1.0 like a little sister or child to 2.0, so this blew my mind

 

I got word that my male ex machina is at bjdivas!!! I paid off my layaway a month early and he should ship to me soon!!

Does DLace ever do restocks? I love Ex Machina v1, but it seems like she is out of stock for now.

 

I dont know about the full dolls @keara but he did just do a 2nd run of the no.5 head, so I'd say it isn't impossible!

Sidd note, my male ex machina arrived!!! EEEEEE! Unfortunately my place is such a hot mess I haven't even set him up outside of his box! >> hopefully that happens very soon

The spine gives him such a nice natural posture, it's such a contrast to the doll to the left. I'm worried about all this paint chipping, and I haven't even thought about swapping his pieces yet lol. Didn't realize he'd come with a second pair of hands, either!

For posterity: no CoA or doll box, but he came with my dealer's card as proof of purchase

Edit: oh, and I don’t know if I'm allowed to point it out, but there is an ex machina 1.0 on the DoA marketplace right now!

 

DLace wrote in her weibo that there will be one more reissue of Ex Machina v1 (10 pieces). As far as I know, they are still available via taobao, but not at Dolly Planet international site. You need to find a Chinese dealer or an intermediary to purchase her.

I’ve been admiring these wonderfully intricate robotic creations for a while and decided to bite the bullet and buy all 3 Male ex-machina and 2.0 female through BJDivas on layaway - got all extra parts so long layaway for me! Then the gorgeous original mechanical girl 1.0 from clover-singing. Who I have some awesome plans for!

@Nata-eslava Thank you for pointing out the taobao store! I never would have found it otherwise. I tried to order through Bjd Bhiner but they told me the chest piece was out of stock and if I wanted to order the doll I couldn’t pay through PayPal. Which I was sad about and uncomfortable with, so I went and asked Christina through clover singing if she could acquire her for me. Next day she says she can sell YuYu dolls and she’s up on clover singing’s site! I was absolutely thrilled and couldn’t tell Christina how amazing that is and how happy I was.

I've loved looking at the pictures you guys have been sharing and the ones on weibo. I am just hung up on this aesthetic - I love it.

Now however I’m in a little bit of a pickle, I ordered both ladies custom made wigs but the wig maker needs more measurements that I don’t have since I dont actually have the dolls yet I ordered early because every custom wig I’ve ever ordered has taken 6+ months to make and arrive. I’m not even sure if anyone has 2.0 yet as I’ve not seen any owner photos.

I was wondering if someone could be so kind as to measure their 1.0 head for me though? I have the pictures of the measurements needed, and already know the girth. I would be so grateful, and my girl would have a decent wig upon arrival.

Anyway I just wanted to share the love for these awesome dolls and can’t wait to get mine

I want to turn the ex machina 1.0 into a sort of geisha doll, dressed in a Jūnihitoe (currently in progress) with rich purple/blue/black hair in a modern undercut.

I'm putting the photo references under the cut since they aren't DLace specific.

I can't wait until 2.0 gets delivered, I really want to see what people do with her. The mechanical pieces are just so amazing to me, I love the intricacy and detail of it. I'm half debating turning her into a warrior type character. My male is going to be a rockstar (not very original, but don't really care, hes perfect for it).

I really am anxioius to see what 2.0 looks like in some owner's hands, I really love the dichotomy of her soft face and mechanical parts. Guess I'll have plenty of time to plan for mine ^.^

Divas told me they're shipping each one one at a time to find a safe shipping method, so I am being so desperately patient to not drive them crazy with emails every day

 

Slightly regretting a little on not buying a ex machina 1.0 when it first released. I don't find the 2.0 one as appealing

 

Does anyone know what size noggin the Male Machina has? I wanna get him a wig but since it will be lace front I don't wanna take a chance

Also, according to BJDivas, the Male Machinas are being held up as Yuyu has optimized some of the joints and is having his caster remake the molds!

Raphael and the 2.0 are taking a while due to their complexity and Yuyu is apologizing profusely.
