Thank you! Posing is one of the main points I look into a doll so I wanted to know about that.
I wanted to know how well the doll poses without being hot glue sueding. I've read in Esthy's site from her body sales page that the body itself comes sueded with hot glue for better posing. Did your sunho came with it sueding?

 

Thank you I agree with you, the DM heads are too small for the 65cm bodies, well, I only have a SD17 body here and the body is too tall/broad for the head. I think Jungkook will look great on the 65cm body though because he is tall in real life and Jimin is smaller than him. I'm crossing my fingers for the DZ B60 body! hopefully it works for us what color did you get? I got the normal pink skin color. I hope it is not too dark, it's been 10 years since I don't buy from Dollzone, last time I got the normal pink color and it was too dark. I know that Luts normal skin matches DM but none of the bodies worked for me. Dollzone is my only hope.

The struggle is real lol but I think the small heads suit them because it looks more realistic. If you want broad shoulders and a slender figure with muscles, SD17 bodies are perfect. For a more slender body with no muscles, the Volks SDGr body would be perfect. The problem is that the skin color is a no-no for DM skin color. Otherwise, I would have been fine with the SDGr body for my Jimin but the DZ B60 has a even more slender figure so I'm more excited for that one. As soon as I get the body I will post pics :3

I don't know if you figured it out already but yes, you select bank deposit and pay with paypal. When they receive the payment they will change your order to 'payment confirmed' or you just send them a message with your order number asking to send you a paypal bill. Shipping fee depends on where you are from and the weight of the package. 120 days is the waiting time for both ND and DM. If you're interested, I paid $71 for the fullset (body,head, jointed hands) I'm from USA and I ordered from Distant Memory. I only sent her an email with my order form, she responded back with the total. I let her know when I sent the payment and then she confirmed my order. It's my first time ordering from her and it was so easy. ^^

Yeah, the sculpt looks great on its own but I do see a resemblance to a young Jungkook (like the 17-19 year old Jungkook lol)

I don't believe there's a price difference. At least not a noticeable one to me. I ordered from DM directly for Jaeii and she was very sweet and it was super easy. I'm not sure how NobilityDoll is but I imagine it can't be too bad. This is my first time ordering from DM and honestly I was surprised how easy it was.

I'm so excited for him to come in! I had already bought a body from df before Jaeii was released, and now I'm just waiting on all of the pieces to come in!
I'm incredibly soft for the sculpts little teeth. I sent pictures to some other doll friends screaming in all caps about how cute they were

He says that it has a similar mechanism to Switch body which I'm kind of excited about because I used to have a Switch 65cm body and it was amazing (but he didn't care about that so it all depends on what you're looking for).

Funny enough, that's my video. lol I don't even think I talked about the body too much in it though. I think the main point of me saying how it was similar to SWITCH's Humming Dolly 65 was the slouch mechanism, which no, I still don't care for. lol

But huh, from what I can tell or see, I don't see any hot glue sueding, so that's interesting that it's mentioned. Anyway, I played around a bit with the body and firstly, it's tightly strung, but not to the point that I can't get the headcap off. In my opinion, the double joints in his elbows and knees allow the body to hold poses well, but I am also someone who does not extensively pose his dolls (I did the classic "touch-hand-to-face," and the "sit-while-wrapping-arms-around-one-raised-knee"); if you are curious about a specific pose, let me know. Unfortunately, the DM body lacks a place to settle the "S" hook on the neck so it pretty much digs, but the hands and feet have a similar mechanism to the "one-touch" that both VOLKS, SWITCH, and various other companies have nowadays. I still don't trust him to stand on his own like I would a SWITCH boy, but again, this may be due to me not playing with him enough.

 

Ohh thank you for your kind explanation of the body posing! And yes, when you go to DM homepage and click on just the body, Esthy noted that the body comes with sueding (though its in korean, Im korean so that wasnt hard to read >w<). I guess she stopped with the body comming with sueding?

Anyways, I am a little sad to hear that maybe the body does not stand well on its own, but well the body and all the head sculpt from DM is just gorgeous itself so I guess I can forgive that part XD.

For the S hook you mentioned for the neck that allows the head to stay, do you mean by that it does not stay in place well with the head? (I didn't quite understood what you meant by it digs).

Also, I came across with that boxopening video some time ago when I was searching for DM dolls. And now I am talking with the owner! Lol

Its exciting actually because now I have some sort of idea how they will package the doll (the box color and the cusion looked very beautiful too). Maybe if you get the chance or time to take another video, I would love to see detailed visual posing of it though you have explained some here.

I think most companies now have a space for the S-hook to settle without putting pressure on the neck. Due to the DM body’s lack of this indented space and especially if the doll is tightly strung, I’m somewhat worried that the S-hook will put pressure on the resin and scuff it (or worse) in the future.

Hmm, I’ll think about it! I’ll be too busy for a few weeks, but maybe afterwards.

I noticed that you also ordered it with the jointed hands from your boxopening. Was it difficult to put on the doll? I never had a jointed hands before so I'm a bit nervous but if there is no difference between just switching to normal hands then I guess I'm fine hehe.

 

I bought DZ B60 body in Volks normal skin. Actually, I bought this body for other heads but I would like to try it with Sunho, too. Hope there'll be the good results. Dollzone has changed their resin skin color couple years ago. I believe you can find some examples on the Flickr or the Instagram. Dollzone Pink NS is paler than Switch NS and matching LiitleReble Pink NS. Hope it helps.

 

Yup I figured it out but thank you so much for the explanation. ^^ Can’t wait to see what everyone will do with Jaeii. You are absolutely right, on closer inspection Jaeii does resemble the younger Jungkook hehe. Now I’ll just have to wait and see which body goes best with him. ☺️

OMG thank you for mentioning that DZ pink normal skin matches littlerebel skin color that makes me feel better because the littlerebel head I have here matches with my Jimin , you don't know how happy I am!! if only DZ would hurry up! I've been waiting 3 months now.

This makes me wonder, that now that these specific dolls from Esthy are known more, do you think she might limit the amount of orders? Like for example, next time when there is a pre order, there are only lets say 50 slots of orders available.
She said that the amount of orders were huge and she wasn't expecting that many, that's why she closed the order period sooner than planned. And I totally understand that! She was worried that the production is going to be delayed because of the amount of orders.

I might go waaay ahead of things, but this just made me wonder the pre order situation for the next release.

 

I understand what you mean. If you see and estimate how many orders she recieved from this one, we can always guess and say that too but it all comes down to her decision so I don't think we will know untill the next doll comes out.

I saw that 60+ people ordered from just her DM site and I think thats alot too because it can be just one person ordering maybe 2 or more dolls in one order. Plus she also has the orders that she recieved through emails and from nobilitydoll site too. Im guessing its more than 200 dolls/heads she has to produce?

I did recieve a reply from her after my payment was made, and she said that she was worried that she was recieving way too many orders than what she expected; thus she closed early.

I hope good news would come in the future for her doll fans. It would be sad to see if she decides to limit her orders in small batch and not all of the people would be able to get her doll..

 

I'm very happy that her works are getting more notice. I know this will become more apparent in the coming months especially what with BTS now getting even more popular.

I really hope that she doesn't limit the orders. Aside from getting your hands on one would be a challenge, the second hand market will soar so much more.

I agree with you! My sister is a huge BTS fan + she is just getting started in the bjd hobby. She really wanted to get a hold of Hwayoung head but due to the popularity and so many people are also searching the same sculpt, getting a hold of it from second hand market is like litterally looking for a needle in a hay stack ;( and plus the price for just the head I've seen people willing to pay 500+ T_T

 

I'm actually searching for the same head. I'm hoping and praying that Esthy decides to change her mind and do a re-release. If that's too much for me to hope for, then I hope I can get my hands on a second hand Tune head from ihavedoll. Their Taehyung head has a longer nose, I think but I don't mind. But of course, I'd prefer Hwayoung more.

500+ is crazy! That's almost a whole doll.

Yes.. the price is just going up higher and higher! Though I don't blame people for paying that much.. It is such a gorgeous sculpt after all and Esthy really did a fantastic job of capturing all the points to make so a like! I've seen Tune sculpt when the company you mentioned were posting a teaser on their twitter account and immediately thought that it was V lol. I hope Esthy do a re-sale in the future too.

Totally agree that the Hwayoung sculpt is gorgeous. I just wish if I do see a Hwayoung up for grabs that I can buy it.

Haha I've seen the listing and if my bank and my wallet weren't sounding so empty(more like a black hole XD), I would've totally gone for that Eyeon head +_+

 

I'll see when I get home from work. It shouldn't be too hard considering how the hand switching seems to work with DM's body.

EDIT: Yeah, it shouldn't be TOO difficult to switch. You need to switch the ball joints, but as long as you have something to hold the string so it doesn't go into the body (ie. chopstick, pen, etc.), switching the ball joints should be simple.

Ah, lol. And yes, they can wear SD17-sized clothing.

 

Oh gosh I’m feeling so nervous! Just checked my order status and it says “unidentified payment/incomplete” but I paid the moment I received their invoice. I hope they won’t cancel my order! Now I have to wait for them to get back to me eeek!!! My bad for not checking the status sooner.

Edit: okay they got my order and changed my status already. Phew!

 

I'm really curious to see how many people ended up ordering Jaeii. I'm thankful I got my order in and everything seemed to work out well, but I'm worried for future dolls Esthy may create. While I'm happy she's getting the attention she deserves, I hope I'll still be able to make orders for those dolls in the future lol.

I really wanted one. Fortunately, I fell sleep hesitating. Fortunately for my marriage, lol.

 

I was also on the fence for ordering and was going to give myself a few days to make a decision, but I bit the bullet and placed the order on impulse. It was only a few hours later did I see the notice for an early closure! I was super relived I ordered when I did, otherwise I might have missed it! Jaeii has a very soft sweet face, I really can't get enough of esthy's work!

 

Oh, yes! I saw someone on Instagram who had the Eyeon head with really long hair and she looks so good as a girl!
I had to apologize as I really thought that she made her doll into a girl character. Apparently, it was a man but looks so good!

So I noticed after stalking the DM site everyday (which I just always do whenever I order a doll >_<), the shipping schedule for Jaeii have been edited from 4 months to 6month waiting time. Esthy sure did get alot ot orders!

I feel happy and a little sad at the same time;
Happy because I get more time to save money to buy clothes/wigs/eyes, but sad because the waiting game time have been added a bit more XD

 

Does anyone have pictures of the hybrids? Like one of the heads on the Dollzone body and on the Luts body?
Tried to find pictures of the resin match which would be the closests and what do they look like in pictures and in person

Doll Family H 65cm - Boy Body (head with black wig) and LUTS Senior 65 Delf - Boy body (head with pink wig).

As you can see, skintone both bodies are different. In Doll Family it is too yellow, so the head had to adjust to the color of the body.
But the LUTS body is coincides and the color and proportions with head. Nothing touch up was not necessary. And the LUTS body looks much more realistic and prettier than the Doll Family.

The LUTS body is much better, it put and it is itself and is, at least in the hurricane put it LoL
But the second the body has to put until, until it no longer leans, or something else, to dance for example x))
But both can stand, as you can see xD

My conclusion: Doll Family body looks too thin and the proportions are not quite Jimin. And the LUTS body looks much better, not so thin and more than a bit plump (but that's just my personal opinion. maybe someone on the contrary like a bad option). But I like the body of LUTS a lot more. Yes, and I'm a fan of this company. Body from Doll Family and I'm going to sell, well, I don't like it at all. Anyway, I bought it as a hybrid from a man. I will to change on LUTS body and d to change make-up anybody. Anyway, will change completely the image of my third Sunho))

Yeah! If you've seen the updates Esthy has posted on the DM website, RM's sculpt looks like he's smiling, which is AAAAAAAAAAAAa for me because,,, soft smile??? namjoon??? a whole soft fluffy cutie? It's a yes for me yeah, definitely, namjoon has really great features for a doll (all of them do tbh).

I thought these boys were gorgeous before I got into BTS but now they're like 10x better?? I can't wait for the Namjoon one, especially because of his smile (and because he's my bias ). I love expressive dolls and I'm so soft for Namjoon's dimples.

 

Hi!! Yeah, I'm definitely waiting and anticipating RM's sculpt release! I agree with you 10000000% on the dimples TT3TT I made the (hard) choice of waiting for RM's sculpt over buying Jungkook's which was ;;A;; for me.
