I’m excited for the promo but I want to see what he looks like from the front. From the side you can’t tell as easy that he’s JK.

Guys, for me he does look like Jungkook, just look at his features. The nose, mouth and eyes are perfect (his eyes are half closed on the right pic but it's actually the right size) He looks different because of the hair color and soft face up, it's weird she chose that look because Jungkook has never used that hair color before but that's an easy quick, give him a dark color scheme and he will look perfect.

I took a break from this hobby last year, I came back because of these dolls ;__; BTS are going to be the death of me (and my wallet).

 

I'm so ready for him! But I'm not sure that my bank account is ready for me or not. I think this head looks a bit off with face-up, clothes, and wig. I think he has the similarity features as Jungkook. My twins plan is coming~ ~ ~ Hope I can buy two heads this time.

 

Jungkook twins? or are you making original characters?


My plan is to keep the BTS characters but I've been having a hard time making the Sunho head look like Jimin because I really want them to look like the real people. All the bodies I have didn't look right with the head. Jungkook looks like he could use the 65cm body very well but not Jimin, his body is smaller in all aspects in real life. Then the head is smaller than SD heads, none of the wigs I have here fit him. They were either too big, too small or something in between so I will commission someone but this person takes months to finish. Then the eyes I have leaved a gap, the size was right except for the gap.

My Jimin is still ~under construction~ lol he is my ult. bias so it will take a while until I consider him ~complete~ because I want him to look perfect.

Hopefully with Jungkook things will be easier. If she makes Yoongi I will have to get him another body too because he is small and would look weird on a 65cm body.

This sounds like such an undertaking, I'm excited to see what progress you have! So far the JK head looks pretty much just how I expect, but the wig is definitely throwing me off. I'm dying to see it from the front...as well as the RM head that comes after.

 

My original plan is buying Jungkook as twins and make them as original characters. I hope when DM sells him, I'll have enough money to buy two heads.

DM's heads are very small. I have E-yeon and Sunho. Both of them are pretty small heads compare to other SD head such as Switch or Rsdoll. I believe DM's heads need 7-8 inch wig since I've to try 8-9 and 9-10 inch on them and these sizes are too big. Some 8-9 inch wigs are the perfect fit for these heads such as Switch. Switch wig is too tight though. Talking about the body for JImin, I think maybe you can try SD13 body with a mature look such as Dollzone (B60-005) or Loongsoul (B-B62-02) 62 cm body. I believe Jimin needs to wear 14mm or 16mm with small iris. Hope it helps you.

Does anyone see the promotion pictures? DM just updated the pre-order link. I feel a bit off with this head. He reminds me someone else but I can't tell now who he is. LOL The bare head looks so gorgeous!

In this style, Jaeii looks more like Jungkook hehe~ He surely is one heck of a pretty darling!! I'm honestly so tempted but... Ah... Money...

 

Though I do love how Esty posted pics of Jaeii in the traditional clothes because it shows off the sculpts potential to be an OC! He looks especially soft, surrounded by such sweet colors His little teeth are so adorable as well ;;3;;

I am in no way familiarized with the idols used as inspiration for these amazing dolls as I am a Korean drama viewer if anything, but he is very beautiful and even more perfect for a character I had in mind than Hwayoung was.

I guess for me it’s a blessing that I am not at all familiarized with the human inspirations behind them so that I can just see the characters the sculpts fit. It’s funny because I swore off SDs as I’m in no way able to handle dolls that size in my tiny living space, but I don’t know if I can pass up the chance to get this guy. The sculpting is just too good and charismatic to miss.

If I do get him then he will go on a bust. Until I paint him and give him hair (and ofc eyes) I won’t know if he’s truly this character in my head. If he is, I will have to hunt resin matches for a body and he might be my only SD ever because the size is too much for me usually. Still, what an amazing release. He’s incredible.

P.S. if you all have any wisdom to share with resin matches I’m here to listen. I’m thinking of getting him in Normal Skin. Going to read back through the thread now for hybrid information.

 

While I’ve definitely made comments on whether or not he looks like JK, I’m actually not planning on having him be a mini JK. I’m getting him to be one of my own characters, it just works out well for me because I also happen to love BTS so it’s like the best of both worlds I get to have a doll that I can see my own character in while also knowing it was inspired by a group that I enjoy listening to.

I’m so excited to see everyone’s dolls (whether they stay as JK or are people’s OCs) when the time comes.

But I’m also afraid like what if Esthy releases Rapmon (I’m only assuming RM is next) really close after!
Hopefully there will be some time in between because I’ll have no money! Hahaha

 

Haha! Tbh, I'm pretty sure Esthy will release RM a few months after ^^ I'm pretty sure they were focused on finishing Jungkook, and after the sales period + shipping of heads is over, they'll go back to RM so that'll probably take a few months

I'm pretty new with Esthys work, known it for only couple of months. I really like the aesthetics of her boys! I'm not a fan of Sd boys, haven't found the perfect sculpt yet to add to my group of lovely ladies but Hwayoung and Sunho have totally crushed my heart Odds to get them 2nd hand are super small, but maybe someday I'll have luck and I'm able to get them.

Hello everyone! I’m planning to purchase Jaeii but would like to know if anyone has an NS DM head (Hwayoung or Sunho) on a 65 body from another company?

@crown*clown I don't have a body for my Sunho yet, but when I got him I did try him on my Volks SDGr body that I have for another head. When I take pictures I'll upload them in IG (time to revive that place!) he's not even half done. I gave him a face up and I hated it so much XD I've never been a fan of minimes or dolls that represent real life people but I have a soft spot for BTS.

What do you think of Jk so far? now that we can see him, I think he looks like a young Jungkook! She captured his innocence (or maybe it is the face up?), he looks as adorable as the real Jungkook. If I get him I hope I can do him justice with the face up. I'm excited to know if you're getting him!

I got my Jimin the DZ B60 body and I'm still waiting for it but I do have other 60cm bodies here and none of them matched with the head in my opinion (proportion wise), the shoulders were to wide or the body itself looked too big for the head....this is the problem when you want to match a doll perfectly to the real person which is something I've never done before so I'm struggling a bit I researched a lot for a smaller body, the B60 caught my eye because it has narrower shoulders than most bodies from that size so I hope I made the right choice. I will probably have to mod the neck though. Anyways, thank you for the advice! I'll look into the 16mm eyes with small irises.

 

Thank you! Volks seems like a good choice too! Will add them to my list! I think the difference in resin tone can easily fixed by blushing too.=)

 

@yumi~ I just got a Df-h 65 cm body in Switch NS yesterday. I try Sunho head on it and resin color is similar to each other like 80-85%. There is a color difference but you won't notice it that much when you see them with your eyes. If you would like to see some photos of it, I can send you a private message here or in the Instagram.

I believe 14/5 mm eyes will suit Sunho better but 16/6 mm will fit him, too. I leave my small iris eyes at another place. So I can't check it now. In my opinion, all DM heads are too small for 65 cm body. I tried E-yeon and Sunho on my 65 cm bodies and the proportion looks just okay for me. But when I put some clothes on I won't feel it that much. I bought DZ B60 body and still waiting for it, too. I want to try it with Sunho and other small heads. Let's hope for good results.

 

Ooooh. If Dollzone matches DM, I'm sold. I love Dollzone bodies. I like broader shoulders on my guys, but I usually find the dolls with broad shoulders are too muscular. This character doesn't ever go to the gym. He's just slender. I'm so picky about bodies. I'm not really a fan of dude bodies — they just aren't as aesthetically pleasing. >_> This is why I have such a hard time bonding with a male doll. It's a bit sad to read these guys run a bit smaller with the head/face proportions. The struggles.

 

I’m so excited for the upcoming JK’s head! I can’t really see the resemblance with JK but I think Jaeii’s sculpt looks just as great on its own. Do you guys normally order from Distant Memory or Nobility Doll? There shouldn’t be a difference in terms of shipping fee or wait time right? Regarding Nobility doll order, do we just select “bank deposit” to pay via PayPal and then they will send us an invoice? I’ve never ordered from them before so not sure how this works. Also it’s been years since I last purchased a doll. *.*

soooo i tried to order Jaeii and after i went through everything a little box showed up and said "shopping cart is empty"?
its been a few minutes and i haven't received a confirmation email or anything so did something mess up or am i being impatient?

 

Last time I used Nobility Doll, but I'm trying ordering directly from Esthy this time (partly because there was too much traffic to access Nobility Doll when I tried, haha). Fingers crossed it works!

I really think that Esthy did a beautiful job of sculpting this one too.

I was originally on the look out for a new BTS sculpt release from DM for my sister because she really wanted one after seeing Hwayoung and plus she is a huge BTS fan. I did not plan to buy a doll at all but after seeing Jaeii sculpt, he was just too gorgeous! ><
