Is there a Distant Memory release on Nobility Doll? Someone posted a sculpt on Facebook, but Nobility Doll's site has already exceeded traffic and I can't get the site to open!
The post said it was coming out Friday.

 

I posted info on what I knew on my Insta . It's released Nov. 22. A ton of traffic killed their site! I did ask, and they have plans to make jointed hands too! I ordered Genie (Jin) from Nobility Doll, and they said they weren't working with Distant Memory but that they were inspired by her. I totally think she must be working with Nobility Doll though because the TaeYeon sculpt is practically identical to Hwayoung (can't wait to compare in person though). And Distant Memory originally sold her dolls through Nobility Doll... I think she just couldn't handle the demand solo.

Yeah, I thought they looked quite similar and was really confused. Hehe. I wonder if that means other sculpts will start showing up. Looks like it will be a popular release!

Do you know if they will sell the jointed hands separately? I know in the past that Esthy only sold them with a full doll (which I totally understand since they are a lot of work for just one person). So I was never able to get them because they came out after I had purchased my E-Yeon. It would be neat if they were available.

Well anyway, I took some photos of my E-Yeon, Yuri, today.

 

LOVE your boys!!! ❤. I can only guess, but since their answer was they're still working on the jointed hands, they'll probably be released with the next BTS inspired doll . I hope they're sold separately too. And when they released Genie, I'd asked if they'd do a V and others of the group and they said yes. Now that V is next, it's anyone's guess who the next release will be, lol. I do wonder if anyone will ask Esthy about the sculpt similarities and confirm if she "inspired"/helped Nobility Doll's TaeYeon...

Im not sure I understand what is going is. Does this mean that Nobility Doll wont be casting that head after all?

I would prefer purchasy from Esthy, with her being the artist, but Im not sure how the ordering process will be like since I cant find an english page or any instructions online T_T

I really want to get that head and finally modify it slightly to be a female.

^So this was Esthy's reply. As expected, Nobilitydoll did all of this without her knowing. I'm not surprised to be honest. I had a feeling that something wasn't right immediately when I saw that Taehyeon doll. I hope Nobility won't continue with the sale because that's totally unfair. And if they do sell it, I hope people won't buy it because that's just like supporting recasters... But the good news is that Esthy has announced that Hwayoung will be re-released soon! I'm happy for all the people who wanted a Hwayoung and have been waiting for so long!

 

Please wait and do not buy from Nobilitydoll. Esthy does provide an English form when she sells a doll, so you shouldn't be worried!

 

I've ordered in a similar manner than what Esthy provides. There's a form in English you fill and sent to their email. It was really simple when I did it with another seller

Thank you people who posted updates on Esthy. Really dirty trick from Nobilitydoll, hopefully they won't end up releasing the doll now.

But I'm really happy to hear she's planning re- releasing Hwayoung! Never even dreamed of being able to get him. And no I have hope to maybe been able to get my grail Sunho It would be nice to see new sculpts from Esthy too, BTS or not.

Edited to add: Nobility Doll has put up there own statement claiming that the accusations aren't true, and personally until someone can put up some side by side and/or overlay pictures showing where the ear and head shape etc match up and are exactly the same, I won't be condemning them just yet.

I personally prefer Esthy's Hwayoung, the eye shape, mouth and nose are more pleasing to me.

Esthy said she would never reissue, but ... As soon as Nobilitydoll released, she immediately announced a reissue. Nobilitydoll head is very different. The head looks more adult.

 

@marci12 reassured me about it and actually shared the news of Esthy's release and the screen caps....Im shocked. Im pretty sure the majority of us will be supporting Esthy in this matter based on the comments on social media

@MorfeevKot A lot of people rightfully assumed that it was a rerelease of the original head, including the owners of the original sculpt.... There are many different companies making the same BTS member headsculpts but they all look different, based on V, theres I have doll, Distant Memory and Gravity. None of them could be mistaken for the other but they all resemble V. If ND wants to salvage their reputation, they should provide their sculpting process, because the differences are not much that even the ones with the original sculpt thought it was a rerelease, including Esthy, the sculptor. You are being offended for the wrong reasons. If offering the original sculpt decreases the number of scalpers in the secondhand market and gives less reason for people to buy illegitimate dolls, Im all for it. Theres more good than negative in a rerelease.

Thanks for the reassurance on the ordering process from Esthy, Ill definitely be waiting on her release instead.... people are free to do and support who they want.

Its not right so I apologise for misunderstanding you @MorfeevKot , I agree that ND and Esthy need to sort it out before selling the doll, but I do see the differences, mainly the lips and eyes, but wish for a better photo of a similar angle for a fairer judgement. Its between them two, its not my business

Maybe I wrote it wrong.
I am disappointed that before NobilityDoll announced the sale, Esthy was not going to reissue. Many asked her about it.
I also thought it was a new sale of Hwayoung, but after comparing the sculpture I found a lot of differences. It can be seen that these are completely different authors.
And I believe that NobilityDoll needed to first resolve the issue with Esthy before starting to sell the doll.

 

Too much drama, LOL. I mentioned to someone that it felt like customers were kids witnessing parents fighting. I'm so glad Esthy is re-releasing Hwayoung, no matter that this event seems to have prompted it. I just hope more dolls follow soon...Suga? Haha, or any new sculpt for that matter! I will 100% buy her dolls!

I also considered what ND's newest message on their site said...and while I think ND is super close to Hwayoung, ND may have a point? Esthy's sculpt was the most realistic of V (in my opinion) out there, so if ND was also doing a super realistic sculpt, they're going to look fairly similar....wouldn't they? And (I waiver, I know), but the eyes, jaw, and nose are different....ND also mentioned showing their prototype to whomever asks...

I'd just hate if a company's image was ruined by mistake ...just my 2 cents as I think on things more...

Regardless, make your own choices! Peace, love, etc...lol. More dolls in 2020!

 

I can also see some differences between these two sculpts... But ND-Taeyeon has already become a controversial doll. I see ND has opened the preorder today. Will somebody buy him?

I want one of those headset mics really badly but wow that is way more than I want to pay for one. Any idea where to get one for cheaper? I see a lot of them in the ch/kr/jp collectors stuff so there has to be somewhere.

 

@Chriandra Really not sure...When I bought Genie, I know Dolk sold him at that time too...you can wait and see if they sell these new items too? Dolk has 3 month layaway.

 

@marci12 are you planning to take comparison photos of hwayoung and taeyeon side by side? i would love to see the two heads together!

i personally am planning to order hwayoung from esthy. that head has been on my wishlist for a long time and i am super excited for the chance to get him regardless of her reasons for opening an order period.

there is a big part of me that wants to get hwayoung in both colors, partially because the price will feel like such a good deal after watching the secondhand prices for so long .....

OK! Thanks a lot for your information. In fact I want to wait a little bit. For me Taeyeon is different from Hwayoung. And it looks good too. (don't know why someone will comment it as not beautiful as hwayoung) The only thing is that I don't know yet when Esthy will open the preorder of hwayoung. If she doesn't open it in Dec. then I will surely order one Taeyeon.

Yeah I saw those too! Too expensive and I wonder if they actually worth it...

The rerelease of Hwayoung is surprising, but thinking on it, this isn’t the first time that Esthy has rereleased a popular sculpt she said she would not rerelease again (anyone also remember Peroth and how so many people sent messages to Esthy over YEARS asking for another release because I do, lol). I don’t blame Esthy at all though for not wanting to open another preorder for an older sculpt as there are considerations to account for.

As Esthy seems to feel more well and has processed the idea of re-releasing some of her dolls, I hope this means
that we have possibility to buy her newer heads as well! I would fully support her and her work in the future too ^^
As I have already a doll based on V with more "chunkier" and "manly" features, I will pass on this new release of Hwayoung. I seem to have troubles with owning too similar dolls or dolls that resemble each other

What comes to the ND version of V, I did some comparison between that and Hwayoung and there are more similarities than there are differences. Most of the differences are lack of details and seems like the details have vanished when casting the head. Head shape, jaw and jawline, back of the head, ears, cheeks and lips are the exact same. Though lips have lost their details, same has happened to nose and eyes. But who knows, maybe they have done their own from scratch, maybe they recasted Hwayoung or maybe they 3D rendered it - it is way too similar to me that it makes me uncomfortable ^^;

I asked ND to let me order Taeyeon head since I missed the email they sent about it being released, and they told me they will leave it open, but I don’t know when they will close it so if anyone wants to get him, you should get it soon.

I just got on here and realized Esthy will be releasing Hwayoung again?! God this is such great news! I wish I knew that before ordering ND’s Taeyeon head, but it’s okay since I’ll still get Esthy’s Hwayoung and this time I will get the body as well. As for the controversy, I trust that ND is speaking the truth since I doubt they would do anything to jeopardize their business.

Does anyone have Esthy’s male body? How well does it pose?

 

I messaged Dolk Station to see if they would be offering TaeYeon. I hope to hear back from them soon. I would like to have him as my OC.

 

I have my jaeii on the DM body. It's one of my favorite bodies. It poses really well and can get into some really natural poses.

 

The body I bought for my Jaeii(???????) arrived at my SS and I paid for shipping today. I ordered it from df-h inside of China and it took about 3 months. It was ordered in DM color so I hope it matches lol. There's no way for me to tell just from the SS's pictures.

So really all of a sudden, within the course of a few days, everything is on it's way???? Like it went so slow and suddenly all at one time. Idk man, it's a conspiracy.

I just bought a secondhand TaeYeon. Do you think this doll could become a recast? I could cancel before she ships it. What would others do? Help!

 

@Mahgiep I wouldnt worry, if its from Korea, its probably directly from the artist to the local (Korean) market

Sometimes they do domestic sales/ offer for sale on their doll events etc and then open up a bigger, and usually longer preorder for the doll sold at the exhibition. The domestic market get their dolls, but the international clients get them later when their batches are produced.

Hes too new to be a recast, congratulations on securing one!

 

The head is in a plastic bag and there's a nobility doll label next to it, but yes, it is a Korean seller. But it doesn't have the detail of Esthy's face.

 

@Mahgiep Oh its not Esthy's work.. Taeyeon is by Nobility doll (I know its confusing, they worked together previously, but not anymore)

Were you thinking it was Hwayoung? Taeyeon is similar since its based on the same Kpop star, but I find them looking distinct from each other after seeing more pictures, I think you will be the first to own one outside of Korea if you go ahead with the sale

If Im understanding correctly, you are worried about him being a replica? I wouldnt worry, hes an original sculpt and if the seller has the first letter M, you are in very very good hands, Ive dealt with them many times! I was wondering who would be getting him after seeing that listing

Phew! I'm looking forward to doing the faceup, but have a few hurdles.

So my next step once I get him is deciding if he will be one of the floating heads I will be switching on my Dollshe Arsene body or not. It is 70cm so it may not look right. I will have to open his neck hole if I like the proportions. (Eventually, the 2 Dollshe Mystic bodies will arrive....)

I already have a Rosen Garden Chocolate Cookie (Jungkook). I am hoping that even though his head is 21.5cm, he will look okay with TaeYeon who is 20.5cm. Cookie looks great on Arsene's body. And when the Mystic bodies arrive, they can hang out together like BTS.

So I have some hurdles before the face up.

 

Here is a link to Tae Yeon photos. He just arrived an hour ago. Unfortunately it's snowing, so spraying is impossible. I so wanted to do a faceup. Maybe I will do the faceup and wait to spray. He's on my Dollshe Arsene 70cm body. that Cookie (Jungkook by Rosen Garden) uses. They will eventually hang together. I don't seem to mind the slightly lighter head and although the neck is too big, it only shows up to bother me in the back of the head. But even that looks okay with a short wig. So I may not mod the head more open. I always like small heads since I started bjds from IH FIDs. Neck is a bit long. So antsy to paint his eyebrows!
