My Laia is getting mods and a faceup! The artist already modified her, she works so fast!!! I'm so happy with how she's looking so far

 

I completely forgot all about my Larina, but she's coming home soon in a few days! I'm so excited Can I get some Larina spam?

 

DimDoll has released some of their sculpts again, apparently for two weeks but it is worth having a look.

 

Thanks to the news here I've just checked out the tan Larina.
She's cute with that milk coffee colour. but I hope to see her in a much darker colour some day. ;-) I like some of the home-dye DIM dolls with those dark chocolate hues.

 

I hope it's okay to ask here, I've looked around for an answer quite a lot, and the most recent result I could find online is still three years old.

Does anybody know if DIM normal skin matches Doll Leaves normal skin? Or failing that, if it matches either of the new DollZone pink or yellow skins?
80% of a match is good for me.

I bought a Benetia head because I always liked her, but I'm not keen on the happy body so intend on hybriding!

 

I have/had two DIM hybrids, the first on a Dollmore kid, the second on a DC kid in pink, and both hybrids worked well. As DZ and DC are sister companies, the match is surely ok with their pink NS? But surely someone has more info.

 

Lots of people hybrid with Dollzone pink. Loongsoul pink works pretty well too. Those are the only two I know offhand.
There's a thread called DIM heads, bodies comparison, or something like that.

 

@nattherat I can't help you with Doll Leaves, but I just received a Dollzone body in normal pink for my Miru head. It's not a perfect match--the Dollzone body is noticeably pinker than the DIM head--but I think it qualifies as an 80% match. With a rosy faceup and clothes, she'll be fine.

FWIW, my other DIM hybrid, my Larina, is on a normal pink Loongsoul body. The resin match is nearly flawless, and the body itself is fantastic. I intend to eventually get another for my floating Gayane head.

Thank you! I did think DZ might be too pink but perhaps close enough. The new resin colours they brought in are a bit more "extreme" than the older ones. I suspect my Benetia will be covered up mostly, so it's good to know this is an option!

Thank you for the info about Loongsoul too. I'm after DZ or Doll Leaves for the look though, I'll take an imperfect resin match for the sake of the body aesthetic. Thank you everyone for the helpful replies so far!

 

@nattherat I have my DiM on the DZ old pink skin and it's a perfect match, but honestly, there's not really much difference between old and new. DZ resin does tend to vary batch to batch though.

 

I have most probably shared this pic on here before but it will have been at the beginning of this year. My Larina is on a DollLeaves body and the resin match is perfect, it looks as if it was made as a whole doll. i have more photos on my instagram account if you follow the link but do need to take more photos of this beautiful girl.

Ah, that's excellent, thank you so much! May I ask how she is posing? I'm tempted by a Dollzone body because I know from my existing dolls that in their more-recent bodies they have things like elbow-rotation down perfectly and the posing is excellent. Since Benetia is unplanned though, I really would prefer to go for the less-expensive but similar Doll Leaves body.

Honestly, I'm looking forward to seeing which one suits my one girl more.... and if I'm going to make the other head her sibling. c.c

 

Has anyone tried a DIM head on the Doll Legend mini body? It seems like the color should work and I like the idea of having a 42 cm girl to go between my 40 cm Kid Delf and the 45 cm Dollzone body I'm planning for my other DIM head. Also, it's a pretty sculpt and it has heel feet.

 

I have two hybrids, one with Doll Leaves other with Dollzone. Dollzone body has more details like collarbones or ribs, but I like both hybrids.

My girl has been home a little while now. She still has no body, but I've been fiddling with her and trying different wigs. I'm having a hard time choosing whether she should have straight or curly hair.

I finally decided to order a Larina head in tan. I'm really excited! I will probably get her a body from a company that offers resin matching. I doubt DIM tan will match any other company, since even their NS is very hard to match.

 

DimDoll had released a couple of their heads sculpts again and I have no money to buy them.

 

Anyone know if Ace would fit on the Doll Leaves female MSD ver. II body?

 

@Mycustomjourney I would think him to be bubble headed. That body is pretty small - and the head is pretty big

 

Thats what i was thinking. I already ordered the body though. Luckily I have a Laia on the way so if Ace looks too abnormal on it she will claim it

I just went on the DIM website and now the boys are back in stock if anyone was wanting them!

 

I'm waiting for my girl to come home from a faceup but I have my cutie on the Dollleaves new girl body and she looks like she was made with that body, if that helps anyone.

@Ballet beautiful hybrid! I definitely think DiM and Doll Leaves makes a gorgeous hybrid, one of my Larina heads is on the DS boy body and the proportions and resin match is perfect! One of my best hybrids for sure!

I have Laia too, she has the DiM original face-up and I've been thinking of redoing it for a couple of years now! I also have trouble finding eyes that would fit her properly...

I have found that low dome eyes and silicone eyes work the best! Specifically Mako Eyes, and I also use Masterpiece and Eyeco. They have thick eyewells for sure!

 

I've been seeing some people receiving their tan Larinas! I would love to know if anyone who has one finds any good resin matches for possible hybrids

 

Oh yeah! I got my tan Larina home recently... I am thinking of sending her head back to a company that does resin matching while her faceplate is getting a faceup.

 

Does anyone know what size eyes fit the Larina Head?

Hello! I'm joining the DIM club. I just placed an order for the DIM Larina head in their normal skin. The tan was very tempting but I didn't feel like going through the hassle of resin-matching. I've seen a lot of people mention both Doll Leaves and Dollzone/DollChateau as good hybrids. I decided to order the DZ B45-017 body for her. Though DZ is apparently more pink, I've found that post face-up my heads tend to end up pinkier than the body anyway, so I'm not terribly worried. Plus, that body is so stinkin' cute. Now to figure out what I want to do for her face, hm...

How long do you think it took her to arrive after you ordered, would you say?

 

I just got a shipping notice for mine today, and it’s been 8 weeks. I haven’t ordered a body for her because there was no option to choose colour, so I have no idea what she’ll be haha!

Yep, the page said it was a ten week wait, so it’s good! I was expecting it however, because I saw people who ordered in the same sale as I did get their orders before Christmas. I had a feeling it would be soon as a result.

I’m excited! Except for the part where she will have no body lmao. Both DZ and DL tend to have 6+ month waiting times, and that won’t be fun, whichever I decide to go with in the end.

 

Has anyone tried hybriding one of the older DiM sculpts? I enjoy my Marianne, but her body is horribly engineered. At the same time, I'm not sure if the bodies suggested here are compatible.

 

My girl literally was shipped 3 days after I placed the order. I was shocked.

I have my older human Flowne on a minifee body and it looks good, the resin is 'yellower' than the new heads so works well with minifee resin.

 

I'm also concerned about neck circumference. It would stink to get a body that was too big or small to fit.

 

@saraquill I’m not sure about all of the head sculpts but the bodies people have mentioned matching so far have neck circumferences of 6 to 6.5 cm. So I kept that in mind when picking one out.

 

My Benetia arrived today! And she's normal skin, just like I thought she'd be, but I'm glad I didn't take the risk on buying a body jussssttt in case I got it wrong.

Now I have to buy a body though, and I am not looking forward to the waiting times. It's going to be a long while until I can enjoy my Benetia!

 

I was browsing the marketplace and saw a DZ Vita body was listed this morning. Snapped that baby right up. I was actually about to make an order for Vita and just split the head or save it for practice because I love that little heart carved in her chest. Too bad my Larina heads are still waiting on payment confirmed. Looks like I'll be waiting the full ten weeks (hopefully not too much longer). I have so many faceup ideas that I can't decide...

 

When did you order? I got “payment confirmed” pretty much immediately. Maybe you should check and make sure that nothing went wrong.

 

Oh I meant payment is confirmed, but that's where it has stopped. I'll wait the 10 weeks to see what happens. Fingers crossed!

 

I would love some help, if anyone here could be able to!
Do any of you know of a body that is similar to the DIM GSE one? I bought a Gayane head during their sculpts discuntinued event, so now she is without a body of course hahaha and after seeing a few pics of this head on this body, I would really love something alone these lines, since DIM´s is sold out. It doesn´t need to be exactly the same, I just want my Gayane to look like a tall girl next to the others I have :-)

 

@Laura_RP Souldoll's NL body might be something similar, with close resin match as well. The NL body is a little more curvy but stands about as tall.

Also gotta mention shoes made for Tonner's Matt O'Neill fit the DIM Happy boy body (v.1) perfectly!

 

Theo looks so snazzy. I hope to have a doll as well put together someday. My DC Bella, Lulu, is my closest, but we have a shoes issue, lol.

I just checked my order status and it's finally changed to Before Shipping! Just under 10 weeks. Pretty excited. I was starting to get a little worried when there were so many people saying theirs shipped within the first week. My Dollzone body is already here, waiting for those beautiful heads.
