Hello, if anyone is interested in ordering Terrence, here's some information from Mr. Kim himself:

@krystina My general impression is that this is the final chance, so any and all heads are on the table so long as he gets 25 orders for them. The caveat is the 25pcs minimum global amount.

 

Really hoping we can reach the 25pc for Annabeth! It seems like there are quite a few people interested.

 

Only way to do so is to commit to an order with Denny, if he doesn't see the numbers it sadly won't happen

 

Well, not all, I guess. I asked for another (way more unpopular) sculpt when I asked for Terrence and Mr. Kim said it wasn't possible (I guess the mold might have been too damaged and maybe there is an issue with the master sculpt, so that the mold cannot be remade/ maybe they don't want r to remake molds for this preoder, as this would cause additional costs for the maker).

 

To be fair, he did say from the start that only three heads were available, and it's probably quite overwhelming having so many people ask for the back catalogue. We can theorise and engage in conjecture for the entire order period, but we'll never really know. The only certainties are Laia, Larina, Flowne (if you can count 25pcs as a certainty).

All you can do is simply ask! If it's yes, then that's wonderful, and if it's no, then that's unfortunate!

 

I'd be willing to get one as well but I'm in Canada so I'd need to submit the order separately.

 

C'mon overseas collectors- pull through for us I'm hoping there are alot of Terrence fans as well we just don't know about @Nighton_woN just curious, what was the other mold you asked about?

 

Of course your right! I don't have any hard feelings regarding the fact, that some sculpts are unavailable. It's a big exception that Mr. Kim even reached out to his old customers in the first place. Offering to open preorders years after the company went defunct, that kind of thing is pretty rare in this hobby. We're pretty lucky!

Ofc I remember Andrea- he was released the same time as Lloyd i pined for him and Lloyd for the longest time but could never get either one cuz I was still a student with no money seems like all these wonderful doll companies retire when I have money

 

I happened to join the hobby JUST in time to catch DIM starting to "close", so I got a Larina at least, but then I took a few years off and missed all the random preorders. I started getting back in just a couple months ago so I have a chance here. Wild timing.

A question about email and ordering- I sent an email to the address in the notice on DoA's mainpage about the available sculpts I would like to buy. I haven't heard anything back yet. Are notifications going to be sent out before May 30th? It would greatly ease my mind to know that my email made it to the right place- I really like these sculpts and the thought of missing out due to un-received email is giving me some anxiety.

 

If you just sent it out, I'd give him time to respond. He may be getting a lot of emails by now, plus time differences. I know people have been sending a lot of question emails. If you still haven't heard from him in another day or two, I'd try emailing again.

 

Make sure you sent it to the Gmail. It took him a day and half or so to respond to me. I was feeling the same order anxiety xD

 

It's really easy to start feeling antsy about this, for sure!

I've actually received a number of messages, so I can't even imagine the volume Denny will be receiving!
(relatedly, looking for someone to host an EU-specific GO haha!)

I'd actually been on years long doll hiatus before getting Denny's email (unsubscribed from most doll mailing lists in an effort to save some money lol, and only got Denny's email because he emails so infrequently)! I already have all the DiM dolls I want, so here's a picture of my Larina for you all.

 

Oh to have a fortune in money so I could just be all "yo, here's 25 orders for one sculpt" and then sell them on at my leisure lol.

@krystina she's one on of the DiM doll bodies, actually! The smallest bust one they had. I've had her for a looong time, since 2015!

Welp, sent in an order~ Figured I might as well grab another Larina since this is likely to be the for real last chance, and both white and normal Laia.

Fingers crossed for those who want Annabeth~ I was lucky enough to get into a group order a few years back and it's a gorgeous sculpt, mine's a boy on a Dream Valley body though I haven't done much with him yet

 

Oh, I am also waiting for a DV body for my Annabeth boy (is been already 4 months, but I know DV are not fast). I wondered if you could share pictures of your boy?
I am hoping to get one more Annabeth head in this GO, so I could make my boy a twin sister. + Larina and both Laias
By the way, has anyone volunteered to organise an EU GO yet?

 

Not yet, as far as I know! I put out a call for it since I will be happy to help and support it (and help and support participants transferring over!) but nothing yet.

 

Oh, that's a pity. I wonder if I should go for an individual order then or still join the UK one. I have zero experience with GOs and I don't really know which option is better money-wise as I would expect double customs if it arrives to the UK first.
Any fellow buyers from the EU out here?

 

I'm in the EU and joining the UK one because despite the extra cost, having someone organize it all is easier for me as I'm quite busy, I also hope that it will give us a larger leverage for heads not officially offered which I do want.
I don't mind paying the extra in that case.

 

Okay, so I emailed Denny with a lot of heads I'm interested in to see the viability of them. The only one that he was certain is a no-go is Lloyd (guessing licensing with the artist) and he said the others would possibly just need the mold repairing. Since I'm interested in a LOT of heads I'm going to send my order on my own, instead of joining the UK one and adding more confusion for Nat.

If anyone is interested in case they wanted to order these heads too, this is what I'm going to request:

Ermagherd I want these too I already requesting 2 of the big 3 and added 3 maybes. Do you happen to know if the SD sized, should there be any that fulfill the limit quantity- how much more they will be? Or I’m wondering, if we can change our order to what made the minimum limit (like if I originally wanted Terrence but he didn’t make the minimum, but Archenar did or is really close to the minimum, can I change my order to that?) hmm seems like a lot a work for the GO host tho Denny will probably let us know who made the minimums and give us a chance to adjust our orders you think?

 

Could you please tell me where can one find the info about the number of orders per sculpt achieved atm? I don't have access to the marketplace yet as I'm new to the forum...

 

We don't have that info as people have been submitting single orders as well, all we can do is hope there were enough + ours to tally up the numbers.

No way to tell the totals of individual orders, but If the email response I got back after okaying payment is any indication there are at least enough for the main three sculpts from the announcement.

 

Just adding, pretty sure the main three are secured. I have each x3 myself (mother and sister liked all three, too). He originally expected to give me an invoice in a week, but has already sent one.

 

I remember last time SDs were $61 during a GO so possibly that price. I remember because I missed out on Bellosse because he reserved the dreaming version instead I didn't want to get that and mod the eyes so I left her.

I dunno if he'd be willing to swap out, but perhaps if one is close he might do it anyway?

I wish the deadline was a bit further back

 

$61 not bad Same- I wish it was further too it would give us more time to see what heads most people are requesting for. I’ll wait a couple days before asking what SD sized head is being requested the most - maybe someone’s asked that question or about swapping one head for another Honestly I’d be okay with switching Terrence, Annabeth, and Julis for a more requested head I hope getting OE Bellose is a possibility for you

I appreciate the thought! There sure are a lot of different heads being ordered across the board. In fact I think we're in a weird position where group orders aren't as necessary as most of us thought, because there's such a large volume of people trying to order heads beyond the original three (though they are still useful for saving on shipping within one country).

I might be wrong, but I don't feel like I remember there ever being this sort of rush for DiM's work in the time I've enjoyed their dolls! It's well-deserved of course. It'd be nice if it convinced him to reopen haha, but this does sound like the last hurrah.

 

I already own Gayane, Annabeth and Larina and they're all gorgeous sculpts. I'd definitely be interested in a whole load more but I don't want to overwhelm poor Denny with random requests heh. I miss DIM, they really nailed the aesthetic I love. Big ol' pouty lips galore! lol.

I'm looking at the obscure sculpts and pining after Lucinda and Amelie. lol. Gotta find really old sculpts I can't have don't I?

I'd love if Denny would reopen but i'm being realistic.

Still, Lucinda and Amelie are gorgeous. Can I add those to my wishlist?

 

I think out of all the rarer, older DIM heads... if I could dream of having a chance to own any of them it would be Owain. I'm so sad I missed that sculpt, I can't remember when it was discontinued but it's so, so rare to see it, and I really doubt there would be 25 orders of it this time around.

I know several of the molds were damaged over time and that was part of why the discontinuations happened. I wonder what happened to the Owain mold.

@PhDolls here's my boy Theon. He's a little less bobble headed in person, I originally wanted to put him on the DZ body I already had but Annabeth is on the larger side of MSD heads and it just looked silly. Dream Valley have quite broad shoulders which definitely balances things out more

 

@Dew_Drops Owain such a cutie. Him and Harlech-my number one dream DIM doll would be Bbjorn. He was released for such a short time and was never restocked when sold out I think when Denny announced the last order before closing shop, I had wanted to see if anyone else was interested in putting an order for him but sadly, no interest

I feel the same Nat. It'd be great if he could come back, even if it was just on a preorder basis like how some of the smaller casters do it (Ninodoll being one I'm thinking of).

Owain was actually in my list that was tentatively confirmed, but I decided on Harlech since I needed to cut down. I just realised Harlech wasn't on the list I sent in the email, but I'm hoping it won't be an issue.

 

I emailed Denny a question about adjusting orders after the head counts are in and it seems he is ok with it (I finally got an email from him about the DIM minis announcement lol) Denny is such champ


“I wanted to ask, when the orders are closed, would you announce what doll heads made it to the 25 count and would you give us a day to readjust our order? I would like a Terrence head, but if he doesn’t make it to 25 I would like to change it to the head that did make it to 25 or is close to 25. I also wanted to ask if Bbjorn is possible to order (or if the mold is too damaged?)

Re : Original Sculpts, It needs to be repaired little, Mold is only used for very small number of production and thrown away.
But not major repair, So if there are any model meets 25pcs, then I will do repair(Needs 4 weeks) and start the process.”

So no need to ask if orders can be adjusted (they can be) If I don’t get Terrence I’d be happy to get a Galahad or Edmon or Leonora

 

Thank you, Theon looks awesome! I had ordered the same body from DV fot him back in February, because the head is on a bigger side. Glad to see from your picture that the hybrid seems very harmonic The skin tone seems to be quite closely matched too.

@Shin__ Since a count of 7~ in the GOs here is pretty high considering how big the internet is, I went ahead and signed on for 2 Annabeths as promised. So there is at least one more Annabeth in the hat.

And if not Annabeth I signed up for 2 more Larinas so I have fun either way and feel no regrets.

 

Posting a picture of my Annabeth boy (still waiting for his DV body) to create a bit more enthusiasm around this fantastic sculpt. I would say it is one of my favourite of all time, if not THE favourite!

 

@PhDolls Last night my girlfriend was ripping on me about how many "favorite sculpts" I have and I was like, "I'm 90% it's Annabeth though!"

I've thought of a LOT of storyline options when looking at various Annabeths. She's just such a versastile sculpt while having this lean to realism and I love it. If she had existed completely unlimited when I found out about her I'd have ten and one would look a lot like Anya Taylor-Joy in The Witch.

Anyway, your boy is beautiful! The lips on his faceup give me a vibe I've seen on a lot of Switch heads.

 

I have been considering throwing my hat in for a Gayane. Definitely asking for an OE Laia too. These heads can multiply fast…!

But I agree, I initially thought it would be very difficult to make up the numbers, because the DIM tags on social media do not seem to be populated much. I also see the same tiny handful of sculpts sit in the second hand market for ages (might be something to do with the prices…) so I had no idea that so many folks would be jumping at this!

Which is, of course, the best possible outcome! Here’s hoping as many heads as possible can be made!

 

@PhDolls The resin is closer in person too, but since DIM is more pale it should be easy to blush the head to match. And your boy is gorgeous~! Theon's going to be a freckled ginger, hoping to get some work done on him and his Larina gf soonish

Thanks! Yeah, I feel you ^.^ The faceup is made by barbelo - I was very lucky to buy the head secondhand with the makeup already! I first thought I'd be repainting it into a blond girl, but when I got the parcel there was no way I would repaint this beauty as I instantly fell in love with him and bought him his own body That's how it starts, right? hehehe

@sugarstitch Ive been watching the Marketplace for any DIM Love heads for a while now- yes something definitely alluring about DIM’s sculpts. For me it’s the combination of eye shape and pouty lips I purchased a few heads from one of Dennys sculptors who has an open shop on Etsy. 2 are the same SD heads (I posted some pics in DIM Love Discussion- looks a lot like DIM Lloyd) and I have a Yo-SD from her that looks so much like Benetia I can’t wait to mix all these dolls together in a photoshoot
