Dikadoll Kid Discussion part 1

I ordered her brand new on Alice's Collections! She's under the 42cm link a little down the list, and her clothes etc option is still available

I have to sort out her wand(?) accessory since it is in two pieces, and I can't get her shoes on - I'm trying to fashion a mini shoe-horn of some kind ....

The photos aren't good but I'm eager to show off her lovely outfit. I'm new to the hobby so my photo-taking is very lackluster sorry ^^'





I love her so much! She's so cute I named her Jingwei, after the Chinese Mythological bird

@Mimic She is very beautiful! I hope you post more pictures in the future! She is my Grail doll so I always get excited when someone gets her.

 

The orange is a bit much... o.o
I never noticed my girl being blue.. but now that it has been mentioned... I kinda see what you are talking about. I do hope they do not turn green on us over time!
I know it sticks to have to think about it, but maybe a new faceup would help. A bit a blushing might help mute out the blue.

How long did it take to receive her?

 

Hi friends! I just ordered my first Dika Doll Sleeping Rena and her regular head (since she will be discontinued), shes so pretty though I cant wait to get her!

 

I am glad you got her! I wish I could have gotten a second one in normal skin, but I am just glad I got my grey one when I did.
Funny how Rena was the only doll I had that was still in production. I feel like I should be titled "Slayer of Sculpts" because all the ones I like get pulled from production. :/

I am glad Guang Nian and Yolanda Elf were not on the chopping block. I would love to get one of them eventually.

 

@Mimic thank you for posting the pictures of your Peony Lion! it's nice to see that she's as cute in real life as she is in the company photos

 

I received Elf Rena yesterday! Her sleeping head has a small chip on the back on the base. ;_; I ordered her from AC so I emailed them for advice. Even if they cant do anything it should be covered by her wig.

She's still so beautiful and I love her all the same. Does anyone have advice for the chip though? I didnt find the piece in the box but I wonder if I should sand it smooth and make it look like an intentionally groove.

 

Is this an old thread? If not, how long does it take Dikadoll to make their dolls? I so want a Peony Lion. ;v;

 

One order took close to 3 months, a second order took only 1 month so seems a little variable ^^

I've been gone for a while... Was going though some life issues.. I might re-buy AAAA i kind of want her in white skin... XD

 

I think AAAA is a cute sculpt, though I don't own one yet. I like white skin dolls too. When I redid the faceup on my white-skinned doll, I just covered the head in a layer of white paint. It was easier than scrubbing the old faceup off completely and I didn't have to mix the white paint myself.

Does anyone have Red Moon or Red Moon SP? I'd love to see some owner pics. Also, what do you think of the bat wings?
I like the look of them.

I took advantage of Clover Singing's epic sale and finally ordered Guang Nian. There are so few owner photos of him, and I have not seen owner photos of the newer tan color, so this will be exciting!

 

Ive been busy so i havent had time to work on/ with my girls.
This is my white skin AAAAA on Soom body.. I need to find a different wig.. but not sure what hair color I want to do or eye color.
I know what style of clothes i want.. and now that spring is coming i can take photos outside soon. She is going to be my deer. I already have small animals made for her.

she looks rly yellow due to the lighting in my basement kind of sucks...

I've been trying to fine semi fancy yet something that I could see a deer wear. I bought a shirt from Alice collection which might go with the top she has on but I need find a different top also. I haven't had time to compare them much.

 

My lovely Kalavinka boy is back from having his face done, so I thought I'd bring him around to share. The stock photos really don't do his cute ears justice!

 

Finally gave my Redmoon a faceup today!
She's meant to be an attendant to Kalavinka, once he arrives ^^ Her name is Hirateru

I love this boy so much. The DikaDoll boy body poses very nicely, although the shoulders are quite broad and made it interesting finding clothes!

 

Not the best photo. I will try to get more later, but my Guang Nian came in!
I will need to get him a faceup and new eyes, but he is super cute!

I've been playing with outfits on Noir.

 

Kalavinka arrived! Sorry for bad quality pic and no faceup yet-I was just very excited to share him. I am so impressed with the quality of his clothes. Im too afraid to move him around much with such an outfit on, so hes just been standing around T posing at my other dolls
I am not kidding when I say it took me 40 minutes to put this outfit on him lol.

 

Does anyone have the 42 cm girl body version 2? I need some measurements from it that arent on the site. And if you could measure in centimeters thatd be amazing>.<

I need to know:
Belly butyon to mid thigh
Belly button to crotch
N*pple to n*pple
Around the underarms

N*pple to n*pple- 4cm
Around the underarms- 17.5cm (this rests on the breasts so a little tricky to get an exact flat measurement)

I am curious though, shouldnt the circumference under her arms be less than her bust? Company measurements put her bust at 17 cm.

 

Yes, measuring the bust in line with the nips is 17cm. The underarm measurement is slightly bigger as that's where the back flares out for the shoulders which adds more width (hope that makes sense!).

 

Stole my sister's Soom body so I could play with my AAAAA (still nameless).

@Koma Your boy is so cute! Looks great on the SOOM body too. I can't help but giggle a little at the sculpt name, though.

Haven't photographed Noir/Yuki in a while, so tried to grab a few today! I'm trying to work on a harness to get the wings I bought for him to stay up, it's definitely a work in progress.

 

Are those the wings from Camellia Dynasty? If so, try putting a little masking tape on the magnets on the wings to give them a little "grip". It helped mine stay put a bit better.

 

Wow, good catch! That's exactly what they are! I'll give that a try, if the wire armature doesn't work out!

 

Hey all, are the Dikadoll giant babies on topic for discussion in this thread or do they need a thread of their own? I I just ordered my second Dobbie and I'm eager to discuss them somewhere^^. Independent from that, I have some questions about Dikadoll tan skin. My new girl will be tan, but I'm having a hard time picturing the proper color (despite the wonderful picture on this very page). In some pictures it looks way darker than in others, has Dika tan always been consistent in color through the years or does it differ by batch? THanks in advance!

 

I hope they are. Ive wanted to see owner photos of one for ages.

here's my DikaDoll Peony Lion/Mudan o: her hair needs some,,,,help,,,but otherwise she's pretty complete right now!

 

I recently bought the Winter Solstice boy since he is being discontinued, and I was wondering if anyone had one already? He doesn't seem to be popular at all. There's only like 12 pictures online I could find that aren't the company photos.

Also wanted to point out, since the Mudan seems to be popular, that she and some other minis are being discontinued after the 15th of February and are currently at a discount on both acbjd.com and legenddoll.net. Not sure about other dealers, since those are the two I use the most.

 

Just placed an order for a Mudan head from the discontinuing-sale, sorry to see her and many of the others go. I love her happy expression and am hoping that she will work on the MYou doll body I already have.

 

Sad to see Mudan go as well, I ordered mine at the beginning of 2022 and I love her dearly! She is indeed very bright and happy. Hoping you'll share pics when yours comes in!

 

With their expiration dates bearing down, I made some decisions!

Peony Lion / Mudan lived so long on my wish list I've caved and ordered her, despite trying to resist. I know I'd be sad to never see that alluring smile again. She'll be on body type II in Normal Pink. Sad that the gorgeous clothing set was not available, but we'll get by just fine

And~ a Dika Kid Matcha head tagged along on the order. I can understand why she's not a popular sculpt, but finding zero hits on DoA, Insta, or even Google (except default sales pics) was a surprise that made the decision even harder. I'm not sure if I'll like her open mouth, but if it really bothers me I can have her wear a scarf or face mask. I kind of get a sense of "Surprised Pikachu" from her, which gives me hope to style her into a fun little doll. I adore the default faceup around Matcha's eyes and hope that Dika stays true to the sample images. They granted themselves some wild artistic license on my previous purchase.
Matcha will share a type I girl body with my yellow Mariam whom I have still not found my courage to faceup.

This will bring my Dika Kid collection to a nice, well-rounded three members, all of different colors and personality. I'm really excited to get them all together!

 

I saw on Alice's Collection a 46cm special boy body
Does anyone know more about this body? I was planning to get this body for an iplehouse jid head.
