Dika doll waiting room

Back again to give an update that my 2 pair of jointed hands shipped out from Alice’s Collections on the 4th. Probably won’t see them until end of the month (or possibly after the new year) thanks to slow shipping ahaha.

 

Ordered Dikadoll X (with faceup but no clothing, wig, etc., as they don’t fit his character), today from Alice’s Collections. I fully expect to wait 80 years for it all, but I anxiously await my beautiful new boy’s arrival. I had to pay extra for him to have a shorter body, which is aggravating, but 73 cm was too tall for his character. In the end, he was on sale, so it was still less than he would have been. Because of the crazy good sale and free shipping ACBJD is having right now, I loaded up on smaller items that all my dolls need while I was at it. Now begins The Waiting. It’s my first time ordering from Dikadoll, but not my first doll from them, so I at least know the quality won’t be subpar.

Hello all! I’ve come close to getting Dikadoll BJDs several times over the years but the other day I finally but the bullet and ordered Mudan/Peony Lion on Alice’s Collections! I tried to take advantage of the 12% off sale but I was a day too late But at least I got the free shipping from Alice’s Collection haha. I also ordered a Dollfamily H doll which has preeeety lengthy wait times so I may not see her for a while.

Anyway I was also wondering about the name of the sculpt- why is it listed as Mudan in some places but others it’s listed as Peony Lion?

 

Okay, I did not get them until the end of February. The production time was super fast, I think it only took about a month, but the transit time from China to the US was super long. Sad. The faceup was pretty nice, I like it. I just notice that the jointed hands' fingers are a little bit shorter than my other jointed hands from another doll company.

 

Ordered a pair of non-jointed Dikadoll 1/4 size hands and another company's doll head from Alice's Collections and got a shipping notice this week!
The order was made in January, but the area had been in shutdown until just recently. Really glad to hear from them : )

 

I ordered my Jean sculpt on the girl ver 4 body in pink skin at the end of February with a pair of jointed hands. I went without face up since it wouldn't t have matched the look I want for her. I'm super excited to get but don't know how much longer it's gonna be until she's ready

 

Update: I got my Dikadoll X in yesterday! He’s gorgeous and I love him. I ordered him with a faceup but not his fullset from Alice’s Collections, and he arrived on April 26. Not the worst wait time ever, but it was longer than I anticipated from posts on here. Probably there were holiday orders holding it up or something. One small gripe: he came with a small stain on his torso and another on his thigh. I think I will be able to get them off with a magic eraser. He was sanded, which I didn’t expect, but the sanding is a bit uneven. Still, can’t look a gift horse in the mouth so to speak and I love him to pieces. It was my first time ordering from Dikadoll, though not my first Dikadoll owned, and the quality is pretty nice. His face sculpt is as gorgeous as I thought it would be, and the faceup is really nice. I didn’t get a shipping update from ACBJD, so he was a surprise arrival. Still, I am really happy with him.

I just got the shipping notice today from Alice's collections that my Dikadoll Jean is on the way. I am so excited

 

My doll arrived yesterday just before I had to go into hospital and only now have I been able to properly look her over. I'm in love, her face is adorable and she's pretty near perfect. I don't actually own a wig, eyes or clothes for her yet so rn she's only in underwear but she's gonna look amazing once she's styled

 

I've been eyeing Sara for awhile - finally bit the bullet and ordered her on layaway. If she arrives early though, I'll happily pay her off early.
Very interested to see this doll in person.

Today I ordered a Dika Doll Egretta head. which will also be my first bjd (well part of a bjd)

 

I am currently waiting for a Felis head with face up A from Alice Collections. I only ordered the head because I am planning on making them a woman. I am super excited but having a horrible time finding a women's body with an 11cm neck.

 

I hope you find one sooner than later. You might be better off getting as close as possible and modding it to reach the needed measurement.

 

Thanks for the advice. I think that is what I am going to have to end up doing. So far the closest I have found is a 10.5cm one by impl. I have no idea how close the resin matches but if there is a huge difference I will try to hide it with clothes or air brushing.

 

I had to check the list of Dika Doll sculpts being discontinued. In the end I'm ordering Anna through acbjd. I enjoy her deer-in-headlights look, and thing she'll be great for a cute yet spooky character of mine.


I may also later get Kathrine via layaway after a paycheck.


I pray that the shipping situation won't be like Morpho my Dika Doll Yolanda(elf). 2 months radio silence mid shipping was terrifying.

Figured I'd post how long I've been waiting, for anyone curious. I ordered the Winter Solstice sculpt during the discontinue sale through Alice's, around the middle of January. Currently it's the beginning of April and I haven't received a shipping notice yet. I'll be sure to update!

 

@cosmicakes Thanks for the update! I'm waiting on a few Dikadoll sculpts myself and came to this thread to check if anyone else had shipping info. (Anna, Katherine, and a Winter Solstice whose head is going to a split partner.)

Order dates:
No 1. Jan 20
No 2. Feb 11

Last time I ordered Dika Doll was 2020 - with 2 months between order and shipping. I imagine there is a bit more dolls they have to make b/c of discontinuation sale, so not surprised in longer wait time.

 

I ordered Qisu on Feb 15th. I still have two layaway payments to make so I am not expecting him for a while. I haven't been notified yet that he is ready.

When I ordered my Felis head it took about three months.

 

I ordered Krose through Alice's on Feb. 11 as part of their discontinuing event; I decided I was more likely to regret not buying him than I was buying him, and I've honestly only gotten more excited for him as I've been waiting. I expect it will take a bit longer than the usual wait time, though, since he was ordered during an event and anyone who wanted a to-be-discontinued doll would have been ordering in the same time period.

 

Good news! On May 6th I got the email from Alice's that my order was shipped, and he arrived on May 8th. So to recap: ordered one of their discontinued sculpts January 23rd and received it May 8th. So that's roughly 4 months. Here's hoping everyone gets theirs soon, too!

She's a 1/4 size sculpt in Dikadoll's regular white resin color. I think she will wear a 7-8" wig and I suspect 14mm or larger eyes. Quick and safe shipping to everyone waiting!

 

Krose is here! I put some temporary eyes in him (he came with putty but no eyes, although I'm definitely not going to keep the green putty they sent because it shows through his resin), since I want to wait for after his face up before I pick out eyes.
He came with three broken fingers, but I'm not worried about that since I also ordered him jointed hands in a separate order.

 

@dm_sof : Oh congratulations he is such a nice sculpt. I am sorry to hear that his hand was broken. You should let Alice's Collections know about the damage I'm sure they will replace the hand or send you a partial refund.

That's so odd that you got eye putty and no eyes. When I ordered my Felis head eyes were included, and it looks like Seafoam_Shade received eyes with their head. I wonder if Dika Doll just forgot to include them? Or do they only give free eyes with floating heads? That is so strange.

 

I did contact Alice. Dika is going to replace the damaged parts (there's also a gouge on his torso, although I'll probably also fix it) and send eyes, since they just forgot them.

 

I am glad you are able to get a replacement hand, and that they are sending you eyes. Is Dika doing anything about the damaged torso?

 

Yes, they're also sending a replacement torso piece along with the hand and eyes. I'm going to try to fix it in the meantime, for practice and to see if it's doable; I got some great tips to try in the thread where I asked for advice on if I should report it as damage.

 

That's awesome. Well best of luck fixing the damaged piece. Do you have experience re stringing dolls, or will replacing the torso be your first time?

 

My first time. I do have a string guide he came with, and a friend who used to do face ups and mods professionally talking me through it, but I'm definitely still nervous because he's strung practically perfectly right now.

 

Well best of luck restringing him. I am sure everything will go smoothly if you follow the guide and your friend talks you through it.

I have never restrung a doll. My doll family H came with bonus cat paws, but they were attached to the doll. The company gave me the S hook to switch them with his normal hands but I still had no idea what I was doing. I watched YouTube videos and managed to figure it out, though it took an hour and I marked up his wrists pretty badly.

I ordered a Floyer (Dark) the other day and I'm already so impatient. Really I should spend my time practicing faceups but of course I am on here looking at more dolls instead. I opened pandora's box for sure by restringing my old Luts boy and buying him pants for sure. All I needed was one pair of dolls pants and here I am.

 

I restrung Krose and he's just fine! They've actually got a really great internal setup that holds the pieces in place on the elastic!

I also took a look at Dika's event. Not sure if that was a mistake or not, haha, but I now have a Red Moon and an Amanda Sweet head ordered.

 

One month down... I found a nice lacefront wig I'd like to restyle for him, but it's so nice and thick that I feel bad about cutting it.

 

Do it. Make him 100% the doll you want. Don't settle for something less when you can customize him to your dream!

I order in normal pink ? I guess? I also asked to have him on a 68cm body so he won't be so big.

 

Joining the room since I just placed an order yesterday for a 75cm strong body DS-2 in SNG normal for my Cyaoo Goujuan. I'd been thinking of which body to get for months and finally decided to just go for it. I'm hoping for a relatively short wait.

It's been four months since I ordered Red Moon and Amanda Sweet (I ordered them almost exactly a month before I posted about them in here) and I keep having to remind myself that they were doing an event and it'll probably take longer than the 4 months it took to get Krose.

I was finally able to put the Dikadoll Alfred I’ve been eyeing on layaway with Alice’s! Can’t wait for it to be ready, I’m 100% willing to pay as soon as she receives it (even though I really shouldn’t, I need active layaways so I don’t go around buying more stuff haha). It’s during their CNY sale and with faceup though, so it’ll probably be a bit of a wait. But I still cannot wait to get this boy home! I’ve barely seen any owner pics of him so I’m extra excited

 

Sad news, Alice’s just sent me an email and let me know that they don’t offer his faceup anymore… it’s what I fell in love with so I ended up canceling the order. And here I was, proud of myself for liking a doll that was non-LE for once lol! Maybe I’ll snatch a blank head when I’m more confident in my faceup abilities, but until then, it’s scouring the secondhand market for me
