Desperately seeking Zevchan (Bad transaction)

Well that is just wrong! No one should ever be afraid of speaking up. I personally will go mother bear on people that attack victims, it makes me livid when people do not wait for the whole story to flesh out before they jump in and attack the victim just because x-person was so peachy super to them and they consider them their cyber-BFF.

 

There is simply NO excuse for her bad behavior!

Maybe you could talk to the administrators about starting a category, warning about unscrupulous sellers.

This is not a "oops, I made a mistake, or I've been sick or busy" situation. This is theft and the thief should be exposed for all to know. She stole your money.

I think if there was a category for transactions such as this, we all could quickly look through it if we were interested in purchasing from someone.

Well I posted a comment with a suggestion to check this thread on her most recent LJ entry and its just being ignored. Has she been active on the board lately?

 

twigling, I have left her multiple comments in her LJ and via AIM and the only phone number I have seems to have long been disconnected....

I really don't know what to do as she doesn't seem to concerned as you can read from her entry considering she seems to busy with other things....

Unfortunately since she is talking of starting her own clothing line...aka, a business, she SHOULD be concerned because this could follow her.

 

Oh...I just read this thread... I'm so sorry for you, AG... And if this devchan is really going to start her own clothing line, I think people should really start spreading the news about her scam because it cannot be of the good... And AG, you shouldn't feel reluctant to post on her LJ, MySpace, or even if she has a guestbook on her website. If more people hear about what she's done, maybe she'll actually get around to shipping out the doll or refunding you...

What's the news from the report you lodged on her?

 

She would only delete the Guest Book entry anyway.... but this sort of behaviour is appalling.. and she thinks whe will start the clothing business.. - well I pity anyone buying from her - she is either just a thief - or has extrmely poor time management - no-one is THAT busy that they cannot do a refund. Its totally pathetic.
I dont care how "nice" anyone is on the surface.. its this sort of stuff that shows people's true colors. Perhaps she is just nice to people who impress HER...

Yes AG.. there really are some great sellers.. and great people out there.. I am just so sorry you had to come across someone like this.. no morals at all it seems.

 

You know I am really pissed off at Zev about this. She can't really say that people haven't pointed her over here. I know I have on at least a dozen occassions but it seems like she just doesn't care, which really just pisses me off to no end.

I run my own sewing business and I would NEVER treat somebody with genuine concern like this. I have a contract that states "no refunds", but that is in case of somebody "changing their mind" not in the case of them never receiving their item......

I am really sorry that you are going through this AG. It isn't right.

 

Sad to say, but Zev does sound like she was out to scam AG... If she does talk about starting her own clothing line here on DoA, are we allowed to point out her bad rep on her threads? And point to this thread? Maybe it would at least make her take some action to refund AG as well as inform others of her actions and untrustworthyness...

I know there are honest and good sellers over here, but this kind of thing really makes one feel a little paranoid over online sales... -_-

 

Gosh after THIS -- I would hope she would be banned from DOA.

This isn't a scam anymore, call a spade a spade, she STOLE AG's money. I feel SO HORRIBLE about this. I am so sad for AG.

 

Well good thing is that her clothing line (I guess you can call it that) seems to be currently limited to a band that she is a groupie of. Being their groupie seems to consume most of her time, but that is no excuse for ignoring all of this.

I find it strange that she voted in the poll on my LJ but she couldn't bother to look at this thread when I posted the link straight to her!

 

O.o I've been recently talking to Zevchan about her making an MSD custom outfit for my doll (through mySpace, I came across her site a long time ago) and she's just replied saying she wants to do it for me. I'm scared of going through an expensive transaction with her now

 

You know, I highly don't recommend it. I am STILL waiting on a dress to be altered (human size here) that I sent her over 3 years ago....

And last time I talked to her about any MSD sized clothing she gave me "I don't have any MSD patterns", but now she is about to do them? Now THAT my friends touches on bull@#$%

This may be an opportunity: at least she's listening to you, Lunafelis, so maybe it would be an idea to say you've changed your mind about comissioning her, because she has a pretty bad reputation (for ripping people off) at DoA? Just a thought... Maybe it will get her attention since she's losing future sales over this, and prompt her to send AG the doll or refund her...

I am really glad I found this thread too. Thank you for posting about your problem AG. I would have willingly handed over a large sum of money if I hadn't found this thread...jeez. She is probably talking to me because I contacted her through Myspace and not DOA and I'm not a well-known member or a contact of her friend or anything.

I'll follow your advice and point her to this thread. Does anyone have any other ideas of what to say or want to say anything since she is talking to someone?

 

Hi... I'm new to the forums and I have recently discovered a strong passion for these dolls. I've been doing a lot of research on them because they are so expensive and I want to make sure my first doll is good, and I came across this forum, and then this topic.
I am so sorry that you were scammed... just to let you know, there are good people and then there are bad people. You just have to go with your gut on who you trust.. a lot of people online have different personality.
Thank you for posting and letting me be more aware of what I have to be careful about, and I hope this resolves.

 

I think the more people that tell her quite clearly (but politley) that they will not deal with her because she appears to be untrustworthy or at best irresposible and unreliable - the more it might hit home to her that you cant scam people and then still try and do business with others..

 

Unfortunately so few people are willing to speak up and it doesn't get the message across. Also, unless they talk to somebody else about it or come across this thread, she will still get customers that will end up hurt in the end...

What are you talking about???? Every transaction I have ever had I've sent the items for! If people are saying I didn't send their items it's news to me. It's not a big deal if you don't want to buy from me, but saying things like that isn't cool at all. I've been a part of the community since nearly the beginning and anyone I've sold to in the past can tell you that, while it may take a few weeks, everything is sent out and is exactly what I've said it is.

Hmm, thats funny considering she has been banned from the marketplace here because of this matter, has had multiple complaints here and the like. I wish I could live in a world of delusion.

And "nearly the beginning"? Yeah, because she has had dolls for a couple of years now. I hardly count that as "nearly the beginning". Sorry but I remember her liquidating a lot of her junk on ebay to afford a doll just a year or two ago. If that counts as "nearly the beginning", than I guess you could count me as a lot of things as a "near the beginning" follower....

So much for building a "business" reputation. I have pointed her to this thread at least a dozen times and have the logs to prove when I sent her the link. Her excuse has always been "I am running out the door right now" but I watch her sit on aim for hours. Even better is that I even stated in a couple of them that somebody was saying that she screwed them out of over $600, but her response was that she would "handle it". I see that nothing has been done, but that is her response. Oh well.

 

I know I haven't posted much on the forum at all, but this is clearly rediculous behaviour for anyone, not just those in the doll community. The reply from Lunafelis' comment on her mySpace just proves that she's nothing more than a lying cheat who could care less about the repercussions of her actions (or nonactions).

AG, Meredith, and anyone else who was scammed by Zev, I hope everything will work out for you and that justice will be rewarded in the end.

 

Well... at least now she's starting to see the effects of her behavior, and more people aren't being scammed by her. SO sad. what a shame. What a jerk.

 

Well is she really seeing it? I mean she answered with her usual defensiveness. I don't know if that could really be seen as her "seeing what happens"...

 

We've now banned her from everything except PM's and the Feedback Forum.

I know what you mean. once again, it's not her fault. Yes. She's somehow ENTITLED to AG's $400 or whatever it was AG paid for that DD body.

I can only hope that the crossover between cosplayers and the BJD world might inform people about her in business dealing she might try moving forward, and nobody else will be scammed by this JERK. I really can't tell you how badly I feel for AG, like somehow it's my fault, because I had a HORRIBLE time with her, but I DID finally get my item, so nothing was ever posted, so, AG didn't know not to deal with her.

This is why I really wish we had a neutral feedback spot, or someplace we can simply post timelines like Meredith suggested earlier. First they start off by being slow to ship and full of excuses; then they move to not shipping at all, and stealing somebody's money. Just becuase you GOT your item eventually doesn't mean the transaction was by any means satisfactory.

 

I replied to Zevchan's message explicitly mentioning this transaction and this thread, she hasn't replied, I don't expect her to. Sher - in no way you should feel guilty, there is only one person at fault and that is Zevchan. Again I'd like to thank AG and everyone on here for posting about their bad experiences so I didn't waste my time and money on her, I'm really grateful

 

I have a similiar situation, where you can't really claim you didn't get it, but it's like pulling teeth to get it. I've even rec'd some pretty schizophrenic emails, one saying that "they don't trust me" because I questioned them about changing the prices on an item and was concerned that it hadn't shipped yet.

Let me explain, first I try to buy something that was posted, first they tell me they have to charge more for it than was listed, okay I say that's fine I want it so I'll pay, then they tell me they don't have it. Okay fine, you don't have it. Then I see it up on Ebay for sale and think ..what the hell, someone else makes/sells these and I buy it (it's another $10 more but I want it).Then I recieve a weird email saying "oh it's you, don't worry I'll send it to you".

Umm it was the same person who ...didn't have it earlier? Alright fine, maybe some confusion or I missed something in the emails, who cares. Just send me the wigs (I had ordered two different ones, not knowing it was her selling).

Well I receive one of them, so I wait over a week for the next one to arrive and then send a message about it - not accusatory just FYI I haven't rec'd this yet. So I get an email back from her all indignant that says she doesn't trust me.

What is not to trust?!! You have my money, I acknowledged the receipt of the first wig and then just inform you that I hadn't rec'd the second wig, and you get snarky about it. Geeesuz. I am just really the most stupid buyer lately. Since I've taken up BJD collecting, I've had two paypal incidents and two crappy sellers that basically stole my money. I know I've purchased ALOT of things in the past few months, but honestly this is getting sickening.

WHew....okay done venting. I am not going to name names at the moment, because I'd like to receive the damn wig because I seriously doubt I'd get my money back and it was one expensive freakin wig.

 

We worked on the same convention a few years ago, and her behavior was inexcusably unprofessional, and she was dismissed from her staff position. While I never had as much interaction with her as some of my friends, the things I'd personally witnessed never would have indicated that she was a thief... perhaps had some growing up to do, but not that much. The story that she's had three years to work on a dress alteration is appalling.

 

I have a feeling that I know which con you are speaking of.... She has spoken to me about that and I had a feeling that it wasn't solely the fault of others like she claimed it was knowing how her temper can be....

The dress thing still bothers me to some degree, but it is pretty much out of my hands and even if she ever did finish it now it wouldn't fit up top anymore so I have just tried to forget about it, but as you see I obviously haven't.

I am really really upset with her about this doll business though. If she is still taking doll commissions (as we see she has by the posts above), then there is potential for somebody else to be taken for a ride while she continues to play groupie. How many possible people can get screwed over by this?

 

The problem is that people may come across her work through her website, and contact her through that route, as I did, rather than through DOA, where she is now known as a scammer.

She never did reply to me after I mentioned AG's transaction, but I think it might be a bit of a slap to her that someone entirely unrelated to the business with AG's transaction chose not to do business with her. Again, at least there is comfort in that many, many doll owners in the world are brought together by DOA, and get a lot of their info on BJD dolls/traders from here, so hopefully anyone wanting to carry a transaction through with her will do a search on her name...and come up with this thread.

 

Are there any news about this matter?

This is all really terrible, and reminds me of the CrazyClam scam on Pullips comminuty a while ago. Many people considered her a friend too, and it turned out very ugly. Live and learn... *sigh*

 

I would also like to know if there are any updates on this. Was she reported to the FBI? I highly suggest filing a complaint here: http://www.ic3.gov/

It looks like AG dropped the issue or she got it resolved since her last activity was "Last Activity: 10-19-2006". We will never know. And Zev seems to be living her life freely since her last login on myspace was 4/9/07, but I can't say for sure since all her blog entries on myspace are private. I do hope that Zevchan will get caught one day with her scams. >_>

 

I kinda think there are som people still terrorising her on e-mail about scamming. No idea if it's any luck, but I guess she asked for it.

Well, she has been added to my Con-list. I've been researching just about every feedback forum I can and compiling a No-Sale / No-buy database.

I wish there was an actual database where things like this could be posted with full details. Similar to the Ebay block list database, but with reasons rather than just SNs.

 

Somebody should go to the people on her myspace and let them know about this, or sneak on her friends list and bombard her comments about it, so others wont get scammed, and she has to finish this, somehow -_-
Or go through and find the people on her flist on LJ and message them about it.
Let the world know how awful a person she is.

 

I know, double posting but I sent her a myspace message, and this is part of her response (Yes, I was very.. vicious and cussy and stuff in mine so mine wont be shown..)

Not saying I believe her, just what she said (then again many scammers have said the same things, so *shrugs*)

 

Arekya - DoA is not a place for organizing trolling or stalking anyone. If you want to play vigilante, please do it on your own time and don't post it here hoping to get congratulated on it. That is not appropriate, and we don't want harassment traced back to here.

I'm sorry for those who have had to deal with this awful person... and I do hope you get some resolution on this.

 

I know ^^; scammers just really get me in a bunch, and if you know a way to contact them, might as well get it sorted out, but yeah, stalking is a bad thing to do.

 

Just a random question but has anyone tried to find out if her account might have gotten hacked? If she claimes she hasnt been on it in years and that someone changed the password on her. Is there a way to see if it was changed and if at the same time the ip changed?
I feel really badly for you AG and I hope this gets resolved even if its years later now.

 

AG, I would strongly recommend resending the complaint to the FBI. I may not be an american, but I have a small background in policing and Canadian Law.

If you use words like "Valuable Collectible" they will more than respond with greater haste. An make sure you note that this is an international issue as well. We all know the USA doesn't like to get international focus unless it's good, and a scammer bilking people out of hundred's, possibly thousands of dollars, is not good focus.

Someone mentioned something about the cosplay community and notifying them, if Zev is a member of cosplay.com, you could try notifying the admin there about this and maybe get her put on a bad list there. (On another note, this is not stalking, vigilatism, harrassment, etc, it is merely making another community that spends hundreds and thousands of dollars on an equally rewarding hobby aware of the possible rammifications of doing business with this particular individual.)

To the other member who mentioned she may have been hacked because of the "several years ago" issue; this did occur several years ago as I'm sure you've noticed the date.

I would have to advise against sending something to the FBI as this kind of matter would be settled in a small-claims court. The FBI has a lot on their plates with matters that go beyond material things.
