      I did the 4-month layaway, and they were very good in keeping communication for each month, and when he was finally shipped.

      * How easy was it to pay? Super - and one of the reasons I went through them rather than directly to Unidoll was that I could put her on deposit and pay the rest when she arrived.

    4. I ordered a pair of boots from DDE, and the service was great and the shipping was fast as always! I just wanted to comment to say that I ordered these boots thinking that they were a dark red: http://www.denverdoll.com/images/dollzone/yueboots.jpg

      But really they are actually brown. They looked red to me on several different monitors, so I wanted to make sure nobody makes the same mistake as me! Had I known, I would have gotten the black ones. They're made well and look great on my DoI Luke, really tall and glossy. But I've had to make some adjustments to the planned colors for his Nutcracker costume. ^_^;

    9. Denver Doll Emporium

      * What did you order?
      A PukiFee Shiwoo Boris full package, and a set of white PukiPuki Pukisha parts.

      * When did you order?
      End of August, 2009.

      * How was the communication?
      Their replies were always very quick and helpful. There was one email that went unanswered, but I think it may have been my email server's fault, as I resent and received a prompt response.

      * How easy was it to pay?
      PayPal -- very easy.

      * How long did it take to ship?
      They were both preorder items, so I had to wait for them to arrive at DDE. In September, I received an email telling me that there had been a cancellation on a Shiwoo Boris full package, and they would be able to send him to me immediately if I wanted. I did, and received him about 2 business days later. The Pukisha parts were not in stock at that time, so I continued to wait for them.
      I waited until the end of November/beginning of December (past the three month mark), when I noticed that the Pukisha parts were labeled as "In Stock" on their website. I sent an email over to DDE about it, and they had forgot to ship out my parts. They apologized for the error and shipped them out right away.

      * Was the quality appropriate for the price, in your opinion?
      Yes, their prices are fair, and this makes them a great alternative to ordering directly from the company, especially if you'd like to do layaway.

      * Did the item look like the sales pictures?
      Yes.

      * Were you satisfied with the product?
      Yes, very much so!

      * If you weren't satisfied, how did the company solve your problem?
      When they forgot to ship my Pukisha set, they did so immediately after I asked them about it. They also enclosed an apology note and a free gift to make up for their mistake. I was pleasantly surprised. :)

      I waited around 13 weeks for the doll to be shipped from Fairyland and then it took 6 days to reach me (I paid for EMS).

      * How long did it take to ship? Far too long. Concerning the back up with FL I can understand the time, but when giving an estimation of 8-10 weeks, I had not expected to wait 13 weeks.

      * Were you satisfied with the product? Not at first. DDE ordered the wrong body for my girl. Instead of a A-Line SMALL bust, I received an A-Line CUTIE bust. And, I had not received the event gift I was eligible for.
      * If you weren't satisfied, how did the company solve your problem? I e-mailed DDE of the problem and they replied quickly saying they'd send me a new body. I fell fond of the cutie bust and opted to keep it. However, I ordered during the event period and had not received my event gift. They were quick to mail it out when I told them though.

      Fantastic! I've never delt with such nice and curtious people when ordering a doll! Plus, I've been buying dolls for years and it's really nice to have english speaking people work with you. The asian companies' translators sometimes can't understand you or there's sometimes miscommunications. Each lady who emailed me was very nice, pleasant, and helpful. ^_^

      * How easy was it to pay?
      Extremely! I did a layaway plan, 2 payments in october and 1 in november. It wasn't normal layaway, I paid chunks in a month and a half's time and they were wonderful to let me!

      * How long did it take to ship?
      Fairyland took roughly 2 1/2 months since they were backed up in orders, however, Denverdoll shipped out my doll as soon as they got her and she arrived the monday right before christmas! ^_^

      * Was the quality appropriate for the price, in your opinion?
      Well, for the doll, I don't agree with the company prices 80% of the time, but Denverdoll has no control over that. However I think what Denverdoll can set for prices are very reasonable for the quality.

      Yes, all items were as pictured!

      * Were you satisfied with the product?
      Very! I even sent them a thank you email.

      * How long did it take to ship? My last payment was in october, but it took until i asked them if there was a problem before they sent the package, which was almost a month after last payment.
      * Was the quality appropriate for the price, in your opinion? Yes, although Bobobie hadnt strung the doll very well but thats not DDE's fault

      Excellent; before, after, and during the order, I was able to reach someone via email who was polite and fast (within 24hrs, and sometimes it was even just minutes between emails).

      Very; I was able to pay via Paypal.

      It shipped December 11, two days after my order was placed.

      Yes.

      When my doll arrived, the faceplate with a faceup was scuffed badly from the faceup protectors being removed.

      I took photos and contacted them, and I have a refund of $20 (an amount I agreed to) pending. They were quick to gather information and offer possible solutions to my problem.

      Despite a couple hiccups in the process, I would order from them again.

      Overall impression: There were a couple minor mistakes, but they were nothing irrepairable by a calm head and polite, clear communication. DDE has been very helpful and patient, and have done everything in their power to keep me satisfied. I would say this has been a positive transaction.

      Excellent as always. They even went as far to e-mail me a few hours after I left the store because the had forgotten to ask me what free Fairyland Event item I wanted. I told them I would take a step down from what I qualified for, and they immediately e-mailed me back saying that I qualified for the step up, so go for it! :)
      How easy was it to pay?
      Extremely easy.
      How long did it take to ship?
      Cheese Mouse? No time at all, seeing how I picked him up in-store. The Leeke wig and the eyes, about a week from when I sent in payment. From the time the dolls came in (which was actually about a month earlier then DDE said they would!) to the time they were at my house was maybe 1 1/2-2 weeks. And that was because I paid with a Money Order, they were shipped during the Christmas rush, and my Post Office is lazy......

      Yes

      Actually, they all look even better in real life.

      Yes, most definitely! There was a small problem with one of the wigs being the wrong size, but it wasn't that important.

      I was extremely satisfied. The wrong wig, I told them, mailed it back, and got a replacement in the mail within the week. I have absolutely no complaints about them.

      I have ordered numerous wigs from them and a Dollzone Binli doll.

      No specific dates but over the last two years.

      I ordered directly through DD. Once I contacted a distributor and they directed me right to Denver Dolls.

      * How was the communication?
      It could not have been one iota better

      * How easy was it to pay?
      As long as I had the money, it was very easy to pay.

      * How long did it take to ship?
      Items in stock, practically overnight. Items ordered from a company, ex. Dollzone... a month or so, as they make the doll once the order is put in.

      * Was the quality appropriate for the price, in your opinion?
      No question. The quality was more than I expected.

      * Did the item look like the sales pictures?
      As Dollzone's photo of Binli does not show her off to the advantages she has, I have to say, the photo of her was the Dollzone's photo. She looked better than that photo.
      Wigs were exactly as photographed.

      Absolutely

      It there 'had' been a problem, I have the confidence in this company that it would be immediately taken care of to the customer's satisfaction.

      Absolutely.... NO question. I would go to them first.

      I didn't know they sold second hand items. If so, I probably would.

      Need I say more to say that this is a very outstanding company to deal with. Phone conversations are handled immediately. Communication seems to be there #1 goal, plus, customer satisfaction.

      * How was the communication? It left a lot to be desired. The initial payment went well. The second one, I didn't receive an invoice and almost had a heart attack when there was suddenly a hundred dollars missing from my bank account. The third went smoothly, but the forth was entirely forgotten until I e-mailed them a few days after I'd expected to pay. Also, after I'd placed my order, but before I'd gotten a formal response, the section my doll was in completely disappeared from the site, which made me ask if there was actually a doll in stock, but it turns out I just got one of the last ones.

      Apart from Ringdoll I ordered, yes, and again this wasn't their fault and (see below), I think they would have fixed it if I had known to ask, but I had already sold/traded the pieces (with full disclosure of the issue) by the time I found that out.

      I didn't like the color of some eyes (i.e. there was nothing wrong with them, they just didn't match the wig) and they refunded me with store credit as soon as I sent them back, which was great. There was another doll that I ordered through them (a Ringdoll) that I had issues with (the color not as advertised in the least) and because their site said they didn't accept returns on preorders, I didn't think of trying to get a resolution, but now I have learned, from other people's experience, that they probably would have tried to resolve that with the company.

      Okay here's what happened - and I fully accept my part of the misunderstanding, btw. After much consideration I put the WS Bobobie Mei on layaway at DDE. In the beginning of January I asked if I could cancel the Mei and use the money on another doll. Now, I admit that I didn't read the part of the "agreement" where DDE refused to do transfers on deposits on in-stock layaways, so I understand that. However, what got me more than anything was that the "tone" of the emails from the owners was snippy and rude and ended up making me feel as though I should be grateful they were allowing me to keep the Mei on layaway. I spoke to the owner of another online BJD supplier who, while completely understanding their no-refund policy on deposits, couldn't understand either why DDE would be more willing to lose a customer than let that customer change doll orders once. I'm happy with my Mei - I paid her off early because I was so unhappy with DDE's attitude that I decided to dip into savings, however I was planning to trade up to a more expensive doll. If there had be a simple, "we're sorry for the misunderstanding, but..." or an explanation of "why" they are absolutely unmovable on the no transfer of deposits policy, I'd probably been okay. Instead they acted like I was conniving to get my deposit money back. Bad customer service all around.

      With today's internet business environment, companies must rely on positive customer service as well as quality products. If there is a misunderstanding of policy, and your main means of communication is the written word, you need to know how to communicate properly and effectively. And that includes not making the customer feel guilty of something they didn't do. I doubt I'll do business with them again.

      Edited for an update - After sending Lorilei out for a face-up, it was discovered that she has at least 3 scratches on her face that had to be worked around for the face blushing. Though I will never be able to prove it, I highly suspect that my Mei was used as a display doll at DDE's store and face planted more than once - but wasn't sold as such. I will never do business with Denver Doll Emporium again.

      There was an oddity with the shipping, however. In checkout, I received no quotes for any shipping choice, which made it rather a bit of a craps-shot as far as pricing goes. I had actually chosen UPS Ground shipping, but I actually received my package through USPS. The receipt had UPS crossed out in ballpoint and Priority Shipping written in. I don't know if the company did this for my benefit or their own, but I found it a bit odd. Not odd enough to keep from ordering from them in the future, but strange, nonetheless.

      Only issue I ran into was that the site said "in stock", but it wasn't, and the site still was left saying "in stock" for some time after that even though they were out and on order. So if you are in a hurry to get a doll you might want to email them first to make sure its actually in stock (even if the site says it is).

      I would still definately buy from them again, and I am very happy with my doll. Their layaway program is pretty awesome, this is the second time I've done a layaway with them. Its better to make payments with funds on hand than to use a CC and get stuck with payments + interest.

      * How was the communication? very good, one thing was out of stock (a dollinstyle Yosd outfit) which they let me trade for a differnt one in stock.(order1 and2) also they shipped the the few things in stock for my frist order with my lay-a-way that was being shipped out that day.

      * How was the communication?
      Amazing. Before ordering, I emailed them with several questions regarding resins, items in stock, special orders, sanding, and insured shipping, and they were all answered promptly and very thoroughly!
      I emailed them again a couple of times while waiting with other questions, as well as questions about updates, and they responded quickly and thouroughly each time.

      * How easy was it to pay?
      So easy! I opted for the "pay 20% up front, pay balance when items are ready to ship" option, and used a credit card.
      After I placed my order, I received email confirmation of partial payment within minutes, and a few days later I received a paper receipt in the mail stating the new total with the special order wig and UPS 2nd Day Insured shipping costs included.

      * How long did it take to ship?
      From the date ordered, it was 65 days until I received my Doll-In-Store notice, and I payed the balance. Because of the weekend and holiday, my 2nd-day delivery took 5 days. The package arrived on 01/04/2010 - January 4th, 2010

      * Was the quality appropriate for the price, in your opinion?
      Absolutely, there were no defects in any of the items I ordered. The eyes were as closely matched as I could hope for in glass eyes, and everything else arrived packaged with care and in tip-top condition.

      * Did the item look like the sales pictures?
      The clothes and other items, yes - the doll was a stretch to imagine, because there are no stock photos of a tan Shoyo, but she was perfect. DZ seems to have slightly shrunk the eye opening in the Shoyo mold, but it's even better this way.

      * Were you satisfied with the product?
      Yes! My doll arrived very tightly strung, but otherwise everything was perfect and exactly as imagined.

      * Would you order from this company (DENVER DOLL EMPORIUM) again?
      Absolutely! I've already ordered my second doll (another DollZone), parts, and odds-and-ends through DDE, after asking them a slew of questions, and I'm very happy about my decision to do so.

      I would... seriously consider it. But I would have to see and inspect the items in person before I would ever consider buying something used.

      * How was the communication? They replied promptly to all my inquiries but some answers were not very customer friendly. (See below)
      * How easy was it to pay? Very easy---I paid with my credit card in 2 payments.
      * How long did it take to ship? The wait was long, but it was not their fault---BBB was backlogged and my dolls didn't come in until late January, 2010.
      * Was the quality appropriate for the price, in your opinion? The price was excellent, but BBB has started to use really cheap 'S hooks' in their necks and when I pulled it up to put the head on, the entire hook just became almost 'straight', lost all the stringing down to the legs and I had to restring. :( This has happened 4 times now on the latest BBB dolls I've purchased. (All 2009 models) I love their dolls and I hope they will reconsider this new 'cheap' s-hook they're putting in their dolls.

      * Were you satisfied with the product? I am satisfied but I hope BBB will put their old 's' hooks back into their 1/3 dolls as their new ones are not acceptable at all. Right now, my doll has a chain link in his head to hold him together!
      * If you weren't satisfied, how did the company solve your problem? DDE offered to buy me a new S hook and said they'd inform BBB of the problem.
      * Would you order from this company again? Not likely. When my order was delayed by a month or more, due to BBB's backlog and I was told my items weren't even started yet, I inquired if they could switch out my Lt Tan BBB for a different item. I knew they don't exchange or refund without a 20% restocking fee, but since they didn't even have my order out yet (BBB was delayed and didn't do a thing yet), I was hoping they'd make an exception, in the interest of customer happiness, and since it would be at no cost to them since BBB didn't even start on the dolls yet. However, they chose not to satisfy me and instead sent me a routine prewritten email about the 20% restocking fee and 'no exchanges.' Now, I know it was my error in wanting to switch out an item, and that I was just hoping for their kindness to help me out. It was completely their right to do so, but because of their (I feel, poor) choice in not accomodating my request, I most likely will not buy from them again. The Junky Spot is so much better than DDE in terms of Customer Service. JS will bend over backwards to help and accomodate, even at his expense. DDE won't budge, even though it was at no expense to themselves. Again, it was their right and their option and I have no complaint against it, but the result is that I won't purchase from them again because of this discompassion. If a customer asks me to switch something out, and I haven't started it yet or if it will not be much difference to me, I will ALWAYS try to accomodate their request. I don't want a customer to have something they aren't happy with and if an exchange will satisfy them, why not? This is my choice as a seller. And it's why JS has so many happy, returning customers as well, and why I won't be returning to buy from DDE in future.
