Specific Doll D.I.M. Happy - heads, bodies, comps

Don't suppose anyone knows of a resin match to DIM White Skin? ^^

 

Does anyone know if a spirit doll resin would match? I have an in coming Annabeth who needs a body.. She might steal one I have here but if none suit her I love the look of that body.

 

I only have Spiritdoll white skin of unknown age, but it would not match at all. Very ivory, while DIM is very pink. I can't tell you about their other colors.

 

DIM resin, when it ages, does lose that pink and becomes almost white. And it is not difficult to blush the head to match a body?

 

Thanks.. I am trying to figure out which bodies will work the best.. The bodies I have at the moment are resinsoul single and double jointed female bodies, Asleep Eidolon female body, Doll Surreal body and a Mystic Kids male body.

 

Had anyone tried a Mirodoll 1/4 girl body? I'm thinking about trying that one for my Larina.

 

So I am looking at the neck size of Annabeth and it says 8cm... I've seen some SD dolls have that size neck. I am not unhappy it actually opens up my body choice but I was just curious if that is true.

 

The 8 cm would be the necksize of the DIM bodies, the same bodies where none of the DIM heads fit on because the head does not have an 8cm hole. The necks of the bodies need to be sanded to fit the heads...

 

@Cyador Wow..Seriously? LOL.. Why would they do that? That is insane. Do you know what size neck they should have?

 

The heads do fine on Dollzone and Fdoll bodies, and gab only a little on Doll Chateau bodies. There are plenty of posibillities! Just have look around or search for a ' DIM Larina hybrid' or something

Thanks for sharing, I have a dim body I bought second hand and a new head to put with it but need a little adjustment.

Size wise, it's o.k., but the head is quite restricted in movement without modifying the neck. It's fine at looking sideways, but can't hold any poses looking up or down.

I love some of these hybrids,
I haven't read through the whole thread but I thought I'd share my DIM Laia hybrid on a Dollmore ballet kid body.
I love the body but the chest does bug me a little. I know it's a more immature sculpt, yet the chest seems odd, like it's too high up or something? apart from that minor issue I'm very happy.
The body and head match is near perfect. I think the dollmore is pink skin. The head does have slight issues with mobility on this body, she cannot look up or down very well.
I've had the body for a while now and have sanded the seams - the seams where pretty visible but now you cannot tell there was ever a seam. The photos are well I first got the body
I'm hoping to get a stand for her so she can do her gorgeous poses unaided

 

@dollyholly - Your girl is really elegant. It surprises me that Dollmore is such a good match; I always assumed they were a more yellowy normal (al a Volks).

 

Does anyone have a Larina/Laia o a Leekeworld Art body? I saw a couple on flickr but its hard to tell the proportions when she has a wig and clothes on.

 

Is that the one with the ginormous hips? I don't have one, but my friend does. I could ask if she'd let me do a head swap with my HCE Larina next time I see her. (if someone doesn't beat me to it.)

Hello! would love to know if any of the msd heads could fit a body that is smaller than MSD? I've seen it fit CH Junior and Iplehouse KID but I was hoping for something easier to find XD Thank you!

 

love the dollmore ballet body hybrid! my (flowne's) character is male though.... so i asked them if they were going to make a boy ballet body and they said :
"Thanks so much to give us your good suggestion.
We will consider your suggestion seriously in future. )"
so i'll definitely be on the lookout for that

does anyone have any comparisons with bluefairy's tiny fairy? especially with ace and jullis? i'd love to see it if you do! even if the match is atrocious, lol
if anyone can't i'd be willing to post some when my layaway is done. :3c

also, do you think it's viable to mod the V2 boy body so that a jullis/ace head would sit higher on it and make it look a little bit more proportional?

 

I just slipped my Larina head onto a Haru YoSD Adori body this morning just for fun. It's actually cute but it definitely has a bobble head look to it. (Adori is around 26 cm tall)

Dollyholly, I love your ballerina body hybrid! And thank you, Wolfboy, for posting such great photos. I'm excited to see your Annabeth hybrids because I just ordered her from DIM and I'd like to put her on a boys body.

Oh, thanks for posting that! I want to make that exact hybrid! I know Loongsoul pink matches pretty well, though, because I have another doll in it. Thanks for posting; she looks great. Which bust size is that, may I ask?

My girls are on Dollzone B45-12 girl bodies, Darak I Remy MSd, and DollChateau Kid. I also have a DIM GSE Body. All normal or normal pink. The resin matches are spot on.

it's been a little while since i popped in here, but to answer my own question: the resin match with all of my bluefairies (NS) is absolutely atrocious. i have a WS boy on the way though, so i'll see about that one. i can post pics if anyone is really interested.

i was wondering though, if anyone had one of those new big baby/"fat" MSD bodies lying around and an ace/jullis head to pop on? i'm really curious to see what ace would look like on the myoudoll pear-shaped boy body specifically? and how it looks compared to the v2 boy body, since that's what my jullis is going to be on.
colour match isn't really important to me at this point, i just need to know if it'll look good before even thinking about colour matching. x__x;

 

I don't have either of those... but if you're looking for more of a big baby aesthetic, maybe check out the Loongsoul 42cm v2. boy body. It's very soft and chubby and their normal pink is a pretty good match for DIM.

 

that was another one of the bodies i was looking at! i was hoping for something a little shorter and chubbier than the V2 Happy body, since that's what i'm keeping my jullis on, and i want them to have different body types. :P
i'd love to see the proportions on the loongsoul body too if anyone has one? :0

 

Has anyone tried a DIM head on a Spiritdoll body? I really like that body but I din't know how the resin will match, since I only have white Spiritdoll at home.

Mangameow, I'm interested in the same thing, but for a girl. It seems like the necks on those BB dolls are too big for msd heads, though. If you find anything out, let us know, please. I'd love to have a chubby little girl.

 

i think spiritdoll does resin matching? but other than that i don't know either, since i don't have any spiritdoll yet. :X
i think you could mod the neck pretty easily! i was thinking about modding the arms too, to be more slender, so there's more contrast with the hips and legs. :0
but i'll be waiting a while to get him his body, since my budget for the rest of the year is pretty much tied up now that i've started having computer/tablet/3ds problems all at once :P

 

I don't know... Myou says their neck is 9cm and according to my measurements, my Miru only has a 7.5 cm neck opening. That seems like a lot of difference.

 

Thank you @sansun! It looks like a great hybrid, other than the resin match. Looks like Spiritdoll is awfully dark compared to DIM, but I could always blush the head to match. Does Spiritdoll have a normal pink skin, or is that it? Maybe their resin matching service will be the way to go...

 

oh, i'm not sure about the smaller dim heads? i was only thinking about my ace and jullis heads which are a bit bigger. :X

Spiritdoll has white, normal and tan skins. It's normal skin, it's more yellow than dim's skin.

Do you know if SpiritDoll does resin-matching on a per-order basis now, or do they only do group orders like they've done in the past?

I wonder how well SpiritDoll resin takes dye?

 

I don't know anything about SpiritDoll resin-matching; someone above me in this thread said they did it.

Spiritdoll's website says the doll is "coated and stream line sanded" by default, so you'd have to clean off the coating before you could dye her. I'd probably be more likely to dye my DIM head, since she doesn't have a faceup yet.

when i got my bluafairy robin in (he's beauty white) i realized that he might match my DiM heads nicely and i was actually right! they also match dearmine's normal white nicely, although dearmine doesn't sell bodies separately as far as i know!

the two heads are DiM normal, the left is dearmine's white normal, and the right is bluefairy's beauty white. the shadows make some parts of the bluefairy look a bit peachier than they are. P:

I noticed someone mention myou doll a few posts back.. im thinking of getting a myou doll boy for the annabeth head. Does anyone know if the resin colour would match? The head is a bit old with some yellowing..

The second body i was looking at was mystic kids.

It's my first time trying a hybrid so I'd appreciate any help with resin colour/neck size advice. I kind of like lean bodies rather than little boyish or too muscular ones.

 

Here's my Larina on an older-style JID girl body. The resin match isn't good (I think it's normal skin) but I really like the proportions.

Anyone done a white skin DIM hybrid? I'm wondering what would be a good match.

 

Here is Jullis on a new Mystic Kids body (pink skin). He is a bit bobble headed, one of the smaller DiM heads might work better. Also the well for the neck on the headback is very shallow, so the head wants to kick forward. I fixed it with hot glue temporarily. The resin match is near 100% though

 

I just recieve my Ace head, and am looking for a body. I was wondering if the Loong Soul 42cm boy body would fit him, especially with the neck. Ace is such a big head haha Doll Parts, Loong Soul - BJD Dolls, Accessories - Alice's Collections

Might be a long shot, but is there anyone that has either of these bodies (and possibly Ace head)? I would love to know how these match together, and also if their normal pink will match the head.

I also got my Larina head, and a Happy boy body V.2, though the elbow joints are missing. I've already emailed Denny, and hoping he can send those. Other then that I'm so happy to have Ace and Larina, they're so beautiful! (Makes me even more sad that DIM is closing down for good though)

 

Anyone knows about DIM Normal Skin match with MYOU doll ?
Myou doll have the normal and the pink tone.

 

DIM normal skintone is a very light pinkish tone, that when aged goes to broken white
I do not know about Myou

 

I want to share my Miru hybrid! I got the Loongsoul version 3 body for her, and it's just gorgeous. The body is pink skin urethane (sometimes you have to specifically ask for the urethane with LS, the environmental resin is default) and it is just a tiny bit less pinky than my head, but once I blushed the head and upper chest area, it doesn't show at all. The neck is a pretty good fit, but I had to replace the ring that came with the body with a smaller s-hook because it didn't fit in her head opening.

Proportionally the head is a bit large, but I like it that way. She's meant to be about 14 years old, so I like the more childish look.
