    1. They were very reasonable priced for the basic dolls , I wish I could find more second hand ones around haha. Even the fullest Guardian Phyllis was just over $700 if I remember correctly. I wish these had been marked more, still my favorites

    3. Thank you!! I am very excited to meet her. She has a faceup but it's not factory, and I think she is either white or normal skin. I'm also glad to know that there is still a bit of interest in the brand, in case she doesn't fit in with my crew.

      I've been thinking about Creature Doll lately and I think I want to commission someone to make some of the outfits I missed out on, like the peasant girl look and the red priestess. Or I should just not be lazy and make the outfits myself....I have lots of projects I do though so it's hard to get to all my ideas!

    8. So awhile back I sent Creature Doll an email (August 2021) - I wasn't really expecting a response, but I got one the other day! It's not a super happy update, but I thought I would share.

      Sorry for replying so late.

      Thank you for your interest in my doll.

      Unfortunately, reselling the doll seems to be difficult.

      I always feel sorry for those who like my dolls.

      I am glad to hear he is feeling a lot better now physically, though. :sorry I think the name "Creature Doll" worked against him as far as search terms for the Western bjd market go, unfortunately...

    10. I already have a Lucia and I know some of y'all that are more active in this thread do as well, but I recently learned our friend vermont_chick had a stroke and will need constant care. Her entire doll collection was purchased and is being sold on eBay. Her Lucia is currently listed, and the seller said there are still about 20 or so more dolls to list. I plan to watch for her Karen, and she had a Mei and Lilith as well. I am very sad to acquire a Creature Doll in this way and I hope Vermont_chick's collection all goes to good new homes.

    14. Oh no that's so sad to hear about Vermont Chick. I love her collection and visited her blog lots over the years. It's a treasure trove of information and her posts were so informative and fun. I too will be wishing for a recovery for her. :(

      I went ahead and placed a bid on her Lucia. I feel sad about getting a chance to own a Creature Doll under these circumstances, but I figure it's best if her dolls can stay within the community. Hopefully I can bring her home and cherish her the way Vermont Chick did.

    17. So apparently vermont_chicks dolls were at a Habit for Humanity for a while before Champlain Collectables bought most of them.... So far I've found three total eBay vendors selling pieces from Vermont Chicks collection . Today I managed to snag her Lilith! At first I was thinking this would just be the body for my Mei head....but now I'm thinking I really like the Lilith head. I think a cool Geisha inspired look would work well for her. She should be here next week!

    19. The others are Vermontkings and carrymeohio. Niether has nearly as much as Champlain Collectables. In fact at the moment niether of them have dolls listed but they did at one time and they were clearly Vermont chicks.

    20. @skyealloway Thank you for the names (though I couldn't find carrymeohio). Vermontkings has some dolls listed but some of them are mislabeled. How do you even search for Creature Dolls on ebay if potential sellers don't even know the brand name?

    21. @jessholy luckily carrymeohio had the brand name listed. The seller doesn't have any items right now so that's probably why it isn't showing up. I'll let you know if I see her Mei posted!

    24. My baby Creature Doll Phyllis just turned 5 years old this month! She arrived home June 2, 2017. It's hard to believe time has just flown by. I recently bought this outfit from SartoriaJ and I couldn't be more happy with how she looks.

    27. With my last order from Creature Doll, I received a free "Mei" head. I've tried a few different hybrid bodies over the years without much luck. The head has been stored for many years now. Fast-forward, I purchased a secondhand IOS Unitot Sezz but just couldn't bond with the head. The body is wonderfully engineered but the face just wasn't my style.

      So, in a moment of of clarity, I suddenly realized Mei fits on the Unitot body! And I love it! Now, the body is a male body and Mei was originally styled as a girl, so I tried to paint the head to be more like a boy....and wound up with the cutest grumpiest teen! Couldn't be happier. Sometimes it's worth it to just keep the extra heads in a drawer somewhere.

    28. @skyealloway - Nice! The faceup looks good! Does he have a name yet?
      I got a gift Mei head too. It fits nicely on a Charm Doll V2 body I ended up with. Unfortunately, the head is tan and the body is paper white. :lol:

    29. Oh shoot that's a bummer about the colors! Mei had a name on the other hybrid body, but I'm thinking as this new hybrid, a new name is needed. The old name was Alise which I'm thinking something more ambiguous would be suitable now. Like Gale or Reagan. I might do Reagan.

    30. @skyealloway - Gale is nice too, though! I was looking for more gender-neutral names myself not long ago... just in case you're still thinking - Aster, Briar, Morgan, Quinn, Saiph?
      Yeah, I suppose I could always try dying the body, but that would mean discarding the original plan for it permanently... not sure what I want to do. But the proportions are good, anyway!
