CP & Fairyland Doll Project For Display At Comic-Con

Jul 15, 2011

    1. Need to find out more about this doll. Now. Waiting is awful.

    2. She has posted info off and on for several pages. you'll need to read through the thread unless someone has links to the specific posts.

    3. I'm the same way in2themystik2. I love everything about her except the blood tear. I would adore her without it... Heck, I adore her anyway, I keep going to her pictures and oggling too <3

    4. I managed to find the one cell-phone camera photo. Plus, I now know that this is indeed an SD sized doll.
      Thanks!

I'd really like to see more photos, please. :)

    5. Yeah, on display in that ensemble as that character, it works and would be perfect, but I just know I'd want to be able to play and do a variety of things with her and the bloody tear may not always fit the part! I do think she is gorgeous though and like the rest of her face-up!

    6. *nods* I'd say the option of getting her without it would make everyone happy ^^. I know if I get her, she'll be a Cirque Du Soleil girl, so the tear can work... I'd just fully prefer her to not have it (what if I want her out of costume, ya know?). Either way, if they release her, I'm going to be playing every card I've got to snag her up. The tear is just the only thing that makes me tilt my head.

    7. There are two pictures on page 10 and one on page 14 of this thread.

    8. Thanks for the link, april! Loved seeing all the different BJD sculpts, but now I'm even more in love with the new girl ;)

    9. I plan to try and order with without the faceup anyways, cause I have different plans for her that involve a completely different face. But if she's only limited and I end up getting her with the faceup, the tear doesn't bother me. I do really like her faceup and it'd be fine as a temp one until I can send her off for her real one.

I also keep drooling over her pics...even went into photoshop and made a background for my computer with them :sweat

    10. Wow! She is gorgeous! I can't wait till Fairyland gives us more info!! Who is the little black/orange fairy looking doll next to her in the case?

    11. Really ? Can't see anything.

    12. looks like a blurry stray hair to me sweetie :(
may I ask though, did anyone get an 'exact' measurement on her? anyone pose a MNF next to her?

    13. On the second last picture, she looks aborter then the Elfdoll with the orange hair, and if this is true she is under 58 cm I think 8D I likes! Can anyone confirm this?? :)

    14. Oooh! I see it! It does look like a faceplate. That'd be awesome!

Eta] Though, Ban Sidhe makes a good point.... Never the less, we can still hope a little XD

    15. the only thing I saw the could've looked like a faceplate seem is too oddly placed to be one... it's most likely a stray hair

    16. Yeah, I couldn't see a faceplate seam either...although was I the only one that wanted to reach into that photo and fix her wig :sweat It was so far back on her head it was driving me nuts.

On another note, it looked to me like that Elfdoll was on a slightly raised portion of the table, so it's really hard to judge her height. It'd be awesome if she's only around 58cm though. I have another doll planned to be her partner and he stands at 60cm. I've been looking into hybridizing him onto a taller body, but if she's shorter I won't have to do that *crosses fingers*

    17. well we also need to take in point that she is on a doll stand and we dunno if the stand is very flat or has the 1-2cm thickness....I dunno if anyone who attended the Comic Con seen it?

    18. From what I can see in the pictures... I might be wrong, but...
The Elfdoll is standing on fur and the same type of "flat" (max 1 cm high) stand.
It's hard to tell, but I don't think that the Elfdoll is raised from the table...
And the tan girl with the cute elf like ears in the background, is she a msd? She stands on a super high stand x'D It looks like...

Hmm... It's just me thinking XD

      *Edit*
Hmm she also looks a little shorter, then the girl, standing next to Heliot too....?

      *Edit again*
I just saw Fairylands Twitter, they answered someone, and it looked like Fairyland knooows something, but are not allowed to tell us :c *snif*
What do you guys think? XD

    19. Oh yay, pictures, many thanks! :D

Hmm, she looks very petite. It is really hard to tell with stands and heels, but just look at her in the display case. It looks like she is displayed with Yamato VMF50 girls (?), though I could be wrong I am pretty sure that girl next to her with black hair has the default 50cm Obitsu head, at least.

Here is a link to some more pics, good for comparison since they show the girls she is displayed with:
      http://youbentmywookie.com/news/sdc...of-fantasy-babe-ness-from-yamatos-booth-13317

    20. oooh if she is 50cm it would be even better!!! :D

anyone could tell me what are those dolls at the bottom of the shelf? (they are on the last picture of Doll'y link). they are probably off topic so if you know PM me instead of writting it on the thread ^^

    21. YES! About the wig... She looks like she has a receding hairline and I just wanted to pull it forward and fix it! :doh

Marha - someone probably already mentioned this, but I know on their twitter they said they will be going on summer holiday from 8/3-8/7 and news about the new girl will be available either before or after that.

Purely my guess, but I bet they will either announce some sort of news on the second or third, right before the holiday, or right after they return. I guess it's a given it will be before or after, but I could see it being right before or right after... just my speculation. I would love to find out more sooner though! :D

    22. So, if she were to turn out to be 50cm... That's only five above the 45 cm MNFs right? *can't remember a MNF's exact height*. That would be wonderful!

    23. MNF girls are 41 and boys are 42cm

    24. Ah. I took another look and zoomed. What I thought was the faceplate seam at the top looks like the edge of the wig which isn't sitting right on her head. Boo. As to the size, I thought someone at ComicCon posted that she's confirmed to be 60cm? I'll have to go back and check what I thought I read.

    25. Ah ha I found it!

    26. Just (for like the third time) viewed the other photos listed from the meet-up and the additional photos of the new FL girl and she is just so beautiful! *Patiently waits for more information!* :) Oh, and also wondering where I can find a money tree...

    27. I'm praying she comes out for sale after their vacation, since I'll have money then. *headdesK*

    28. I also think she is taller than 50cm, probably in the 60cm range! I just have little faith in an exact size when a company says "60cm" as a way to describe a new doll -- that is often used in a more generic way. For example, Feeple70 girls are not 70cm, and CP's current "60cm line" (Delfs) is not actually 60cm but shorter. Volks DDS are not 50cm but more like 55cm, etc. ;)

But at this point I don't really care if she is 60cm or a few cm smaller . . . so long as she isn't a tall girl I am a happy camper! It is mostly curiosity at this point. :D

    29. Thank you Call Me Stephanie <3. I appreciate it ^^

Also, I am so very happy! Do we know for sure yet if they are going to release her for sale? I seriously hope they do, because right now my parents have given me very high hopes that if they really do, she'll be my first doll... I've got plans for her I might I add, so many wonderful plans XD... Only, I'd be waiting until Christmas before I actually got her :|

    30. Nope, no info yet.

      Their tweet about it:

      @FairyLand_EN
      FairyLand
About the new girl! - We'll be going on a summer holiday from Aug. 3 till Aug. 7, so a news info will be available before OR after this date
      21 Jul via web

    31. That would be exciting for your first doll! Fairyland is great in general in my experience and if it makes you feel any better (or worse, lol) if they do release her for sale as a full set and/or basic sometime in the next monthish, there is a good chance that it may be nearly Christmas before she would arrive anyway. Wait times can be rather long with Fairyland, especially recently, as they had a big influx of orders before the price increases and I think they're continuing to try and catch up. They seem to have a lot of orders always though, but the wait is definitely worth it when they finally arrive!

    32. *sighs* Well darn... I want more info too now XD... Well, I guess all we can do is cross our fingers, close our eyes, and wish for the best now. Considering that tweet, I think we're flopping fish till the start of August.

      eta]

in2themystik2 ~ She would be tremendously wonderful for my first doll. I've been stalking fairyland for so long awaiting something like this. As with their joints and general look, they became my favorite company... Anyway, she's so perfect with the fairyish look and the darker colors! The only thing I don't like is the tear, but I'm so willing to look past that (lest of course Fairyland wanted to make a makeup option without it for us who don't want it hehe ^^' *is dreaming*). So yea, to be my first doll would be so wonderful, and it does make me feel better, knowing there could be a several month waiting time... That way I don't have to stare at the box for the rest of the year, then stare at the wrapped box under a tree for two weeks... Because my parents would leave it out in the open, just to torment me until I could have her XD (they like to watch me squirm, and with how much money she'd be (over 100 is still a lot for a doll to my parents)... there's no way I can deal myself out of the wait.)

    33. If she's released, whether in fullset or basic, she'd most likely be in the range of $500 to $700.

    34. Yea, my parents know that they can probably safely expect the price of the 65 Chloe, or a little more... And I am very aware that that will be my whole christmas lol. Which makes it worse, 'cause I'll know what that one box is, and I'll know that I just can't have it lol... Like that barbie car when I was six XD

    35. Okay, here's one Pam took of Moira and the FL doll

Moira is a tiny bit elevated, being on a wooden-based stand/fur floor with soled boots, but she's definitely a bit taller than the FL doll. However, she's taller than all my Delf girls, so I'm not surprised. Keep in mind also, Moira's wig is "floofier" than the FL doll's, so it contributes to the illusion of height.

    36. Wow to have this girl as your first doll...*drools*

I am so totally team Fairyland. I own four dolls currently, two of which are Minifees and I have plans in my future for a couple more of those, plus some Littlefees and now this girl when she comes out. They're just such a great company with the pose-ability and realistic look...*loves*

The wait times aren't too bad. My first FL doll was only a 50 day wait. My second was a 69 day wait because of the Summer Event last year (I am including weekends in my wait times. I have to wait through them so they get counted). So all and all, that's not too bad. My longest wait was for an Asleep Eidolon doll at 126 days so FL is really great in getting their dolls out as quickly as possible.

I do hope this girl becomes available relatively soon. I'm hoping to have enough money saved up by mid-September (I'm estimated around $600-$700 for a basic and $8000-$900 for a full set) and it'd be great if I can just order her as soon as I have the money.

Oh and on the bloody tear...if anyone feels comfortable doing it, I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard to mod it out of the faceup...you just wanna be really carefully on not rubbing her eye off and carefully re-touch up her blushing...it can be done :)

    37. That's good to hear about the tear. I am not to keen on it, I like her face-up, but the tear just doesn't go with everything. Plus, with what I would dress her in. It just won't go. Maybe someone can give some pointers on this?

    38. Lol, my exact thoughts... drool XD... Oi, 800 for a full set... I'm gonna pray it's not that much... Or my parents will totally flip. Still get her for me, but be much more unhappy... I may need to go ahead and break the news to them that she could be that much..

Wait time doesn't sound too bad... Though I'm hoping if I am able to get her, she doesn't arrive until very close to Christmas. So I don't have to deal with the "So. What do ya think's in the box Lee?" thing all year. Because that will make me go batty XD

Eta] Yea, if I wind up having to mod the tear out or anything... It's just gonna stay. My parents would murder me if I janked up her face trying to remove that hehe.

    39. She looks more petite than SD size... BUT she was not wearing shoes, only thin stockings. That can really make a difference.

Lovely doll and outfit, I thought. Loved the pose PamSD put her in during the BJD Panel.

    40. I loved it too. Very natural looking and ten times better then when she was on display...but that could just be my itchy-ness over the wig in the display talking :sweat

    41. LOL, Pam did the display pose too (though to be fair, the Yamato folks moved her up in the case afterwards and may have reposed her). Pam's very good at posing :) I think you may be talking about the pics I took initially when they were still prepping her, when her wig was all funky.

    42. Thx for the link ;)
I can't help but think that she looks very uncomfortable in the display box together with all the sexy ladies x'D

    43. oh lookit the PICTURE! that clinches it, she will be able to share my mountain of sd-sized clothing. oh I can't wait for INFO ON THIS GIRL!!

    44. I second the thanks for the extra photos! And, I agree with Marha. ;)

    45. Yeah, I was. I saw pics from after Pam posed her and she look gorgeous there...it was just before she was posed properly her hair was driving me nuts

Is it sad that I wish the summer would go faster so we'd get news quicker? :sweat

    46. Sorry for the double post, but I just wanted to share this.

I know a lot of us have been complaining about the bloody tear (teh he, bloody tear...yeah ignore me :sweat) and so I went and did something about it. I was mucking around in photoshop trying to get her to look like what I have planned and I quickly got rid of the tear...it's not a perfect job, but it's just so we can all see what her faceup looks like without it...and personally I prefer it without that tear...

Like I said...it was a rushed job as I'm tired and about to go to bed, but I just wanted to share.

    47. I actually think it's a pretty good job, I mean, you can see where it's been removed but as an indicator it's actually serving its purpose :) thanks!

    48. Soom offered Io's face-up with or without the war paint because someone asked for the option. Maybe you guys can convince Fairyland to do the same for this doll's face up. Personally though, I like the bloody tear! :aheartbea

    49. Love it! Looks good! I know fairyland doesn't do custom face-up requests, but didn't they let people ask for PKF Ante without freckles? Hmm, so maybe?

    50. I did the same thing for the image I have on my desktop XD *yes, I am a nerd like that* I hope they put it up as an option to not have it <3

    51. Well, if I end up being able to afford her that's exactly what I was going to do, ask Fairyland if I could get her minus the tear for my order. I think they might do it, since it's one less thing they would have to paint.

    52. Hmm so I was under the impression that she was OOAK, and that it didn't
mean sculpt-wise but that her look including faceup would not be duplicated..
but after reading everyones comments, about the tear and asking for FL to
not add it, the belief is FL will sell her as-is as a fullset?

    53. hmmm honestly I am more thinking this one is OOAK because she is based from someone's painting and to sell her they would need the approval of the artist... logically. but maybe they did make a deal ^^ who knows

    54. Welp, this doll is officially my favorite "booth babe" ever. Though the Bayonetta at last years E3 takes a close, close second.

Perchance she is released... I'll have to choose between her and waiting for some less endowed Feeple65.

    55. Well, that's my belief anyway. It seems like too much hype for just an OOAK doll and why bring her to the U.S. if they didn't plan on selling her?

    56. I was just thinking that after the recent NEWS in Seoul and surrounding areas, it'll be a while before we get any answers about this girl. :(

Here's hoping that our friends in Korea are safe.

    57. I didn't realize it was so bad:

      MORE HERE

    58. I only found out because Luts posted a couple of photos of the flood and storm on their Facebook page (and I'm subscribed).

I really, really hope that there are no more casualties. :(
