CP & Fairyland Doll Project For Display At Comic-Con

Dark Horse often has glassed maquettes and other displays in their booth (which I presume she'd be in...can't imagine she'd be out to handle with our crowd), but I really hope she's not in there....that would be a sea of people to try to push through to get to her, since they're doing a photo thing in the booth.

Dark Horse should be deep in the process of setting up today, so I can wander by and take a look.

What a pretty new girl . . . looks like Lishe and Chiwoo's daughter! And even though it is likely OOAK, that dress is simply gorgeous.

A part of me is jumping up and down squee'ing in hopes that this is finally, FINALLY the start of a 1/3 CP line in the 55-60cm range. But that part is currently being squashed down ruthlessly by the part of me that is grumpy and skeptical after waiting for so many years and being disappointed so many times. So I'll just assume she is 50cm or some other odd size.

 

Wow, I am in complete awe of that doll ! Hope to see some more shots of her from the event !

 

She's gorgeous! If she's ever released, she will be coming home to live with me I love the outfit as well, but I will be just as happy to get her as a basic doll. I hope we hear more about her after the convention.

 

Okay, Dark Horse was only carpet and the logo hang from the ceiling as of 4:30, so I'll try again tomorrow.

If the other website has any mention of another possible exhibitor name, that would help. If I have a name, I can find out where they are.

 

Ohh how awesome ^_^ I'm not too fond of the make up or outfit... and I can't comment on the face-sculpt because I'm not sure if it's only the face up throwing me off (but I think she kinda looks like she's related to Chiwoo - cute!) but the possibility of a new body is exciting.

 

ok I tried to read through all the comments but if I missed it I'm sorry...is it possible this is an upgraded Chic-line girl? didn't they take them off the market to redo things with them? maybe this girl is a new chic-line?...or atleast I hope I am tryiing not to get back into SDs so a new chic-line/MSD size would be perfect!

 

nobody knows exactly what size she is or what she is. they haven't released specific info like that. we're all just squinting at the pictures and trying to decide what we THINK she might be, but really, we don't know.

 

I can't wait...srsly..I know it's only 2 more days to Comic Con and we will see then some pics or get some info, but still I am on needles and pins. Like I said..she would be perfect for me. Specially if she will be standard sd. When I saw her it was like the first time I saw bjds - lishe.....later I didnt had that feeling that strong (except for ante )

Okay ruff translation of what my hubby read on her website where you can see the doll. He told me that the doll is based on a image character that is still a work in progress and was displayed at Comic Con is San Diego June 21-24 2011. The images are protected and are still being processed as of the definitive model presented. Her website has and will respect the actual images and maintain them.

Hubby read it so fast and spoke so fast I could barely keep up.........curse my mind for not keeping up with Spanish. If you check under her Noticias section you will see the doll.

 

Will be displayed at Comic Con San Diego July 21-24*

It actually does say "Junio" on the website. lol but yes it should be July! Google translator is epic win by the way. My friend and I were translating it and yes she's based on a character Neve from Victoria's book "Angel Wings". The book is impossible to get...apparently!

Sundaes~ Yes, some of the are HUGE... the one in San Diego, I have attended for the last 4 years, and it is... MASSIVE. Too big, actually.. with the focus on Television and Movies the convention has taken over the last few years, there are more people than ever trying to squeeze into the convention center. It's a wonder they keep saying they need to look for an even BIGGER venue! I can't imagine CCSD getting much bigger than it already is.. it took me a good hour to walk from one end of the dealer's hall to the other last year 8(

 

Still watching this thread, in the hopes that the doll will come out in basic or fullset. Hope someone can snap a picture or at least find her with the convention being so crowded.

kapiszonka I know sounds odd to me too, but that is how it translates. The way they make things sound in that notification, it looks like she will be sold on the Victoria Frances website. You would think they would be selling on Fairyland. Maybe they will sell on both?

Unfortunately they'll probably say they same thing they've been telling everyone else with questions, "sorry we can't answer you right now" which is why they gave that disclaimer. We'll wait and see I guess.

 

I just checked out Victoria Francés website and there's nothing about Snow doll, nor in the News section (Noticias) or in the other sections (I just can check out the mobile version by now though).
I'll be checking out it if something comes up so I can translate it to you all

received news from our cooperator, Yamato USA that they will be located at booth #4319.
Unfortunately, no staff members from FairyLand or CP will be present to answer questions regarding
the doll but we plan to release more details after the end of convention. Yamato USA is not a bjd
company but kindly allowed a space for our project doll to be displayed. If you wish to include the
information to your news thread or mention it in some ways during the convention to anyone whom
might be interested, do not hesitate to do so

How odd that no one from FL or CP will be there. I guess the wanted to just avoid all the "GIMME ANSWERS!" during the convention.

In my company Sales Dept always go to exhibitions with products (but well we sale big machines so maybe that's why) to answer questions or even more to attract potential constumers. Yamato usually makes resin statues (not that they don't make anything else), odd that they decided to display a BJD.

Yamato is a figure maker in Japan who I am pretty sure CP sculpts for, so it's not so strange to me they would have a CP project on display if they have a good working relationship.

 

Yeah, CP and Yamato have done a ton of work together: Evangelion, Gurran Lagan, To Heart...
