Seeing all these Delfs is making me so happy! Looking forward to Delfuary

 

Okay I'm definitely a granma thats out of the loop lol. What is "delfuary"?

 

It's mostly an IG thing, I think, that was started by a Delf owner. Throughout months of January and now February, folks will share pictures of their Delfs with the hashtag

:Edit: paying the Delf tax by sharing a photo of my Moon and Lishe (and two Feeple friends) being subjected to the unpopular tradition in my household of dressing up for a holiday photo. They narrowly escaped the ugly sweaters

I finally had some time to sit down and dress up my Breakaway I got recently! I had one a few years ago but had to sell him, so I'm glad I can finally have another one back in my collection! So including this guy there's now two Chiwoo, two Shiwoo, Breakaway and the poor Na Nu Ri who's faceup-less and body-less!

Thank you so much!! He's definitely one of those dolls I don't think I could ever see myself selling now unless I desperately needed to. I think his wig is also from Luts. I can't wait to get a big group shot of everyone this week for Delfuary!

 

@SuperShawol - congrats on your new boy and your growing Delf family! He's amazing!

Maybe I'll try to participate in Delfuary this year.....That means that I probably ought to sew them something to wear, ha ha!

 

I just wanted to share my new boy, Ellis. He is a WS Shiwoo with a company face up. I LOVE the old company face ups. I finally was able to make him some clothes this afternoon! I'm very pleased with the way it all turned out. Unfortunately, his strings are so horribly loose, I couldn't stand him up to take a full pic of his outfit! And it wasn't real great to have to keep picking him up to measure him with his pelvis stretching 3 inches below his torso. I have strings somewhere. He and my Vampire Shiwoo are in pretty sad shape. Any way! Here he is. My dream doll!

I always wondered, has anyone ever seen CP Dambi? I always wanted him but I have never seen owner pictures of him. See everyone's dolls reminds me I need to get my Lishe boy repainted badly.

 

Just one, and it was a Dambi girl, her owner is Byouyuuken. Not sure if shes still active here tho.

Right? I wanted a Dambi so bad when it was released but my money wasn't right :< I should have sold a kidney.

 

I was to young to have money to buy him. :C

 

Man, I miss Byouyuuken's doll pictures so much. Her Flickr page is still up, but nothing new in years.

I didn't know Dambi has a monolid? He is so pretty. But man, I always miss delfuary

Life yet again got in the way, so I haven't been doing much fun stuff online lately. Boo. Its so cool to be able to come back here and see everyone's Delf. Yet again I'm reminded why I'm in this hobby, to get away from the scariness of real life!

Hello, I'm not sure where to post this but I thought I'd try my luck here haha!

Are your Delfs on their original bodies or are they hybrids? I have a NS Moon from way back when but I'm not very fond of the Delf body now. I was wondering which company's bodies matches a yellowed Delf head the best

Here's my Moon with his updated faceup! I still like the sculpt a lot, it's just that the clothes don't fit as nicely as I want them to

 

@chibikaya , afraid my Delfs are on old self bodies so I can't help. But wanted to say, he's beautiful!

 

Not sure if it would be a perfect match but the Angellstudio butter yellow (I think its called) is a close match

 

@chibikaya I have my Delf El on a Akagi Doll 66cm Ver. II body. It's not a perfect resin match as the body is a little pinker, but I think it works well enough.

I have been thinking about changing the body though as I think I want something with wider shoulders, so it'll be interesting to see what other people might be using.

 

He's beautiful! My Delfs are on a variety of bodies because I prefer having more diversity / better matches for my characters' physiques. My Moon is on a Feeple Muscular body (sadly also discontinued and hard to find). The other hybrids I have probably won't help you if you're looking for something more built.

For my future El, whenever I manage to find him, I'm planning on hybriding with an Aolingshi 62cm body with its enormously wide shoulders. Can update on color match then, but I'm assuming I'll have to blush the head

I have my 05 Breakaway on an older Volks SD13 body. Haven't tried a Type 2 head on it, though, so not sure if the shape of the neck hole would be an issue.

@cthulhu: Haha I loved the Delf bodies then but I think my tastes have changed

@Lei Xing: Wow I hope the match is close! The AS body looks like something I want for him.

@Cloudedmind: The Akagidoll body looks really good! But yes I was thinking of wider shoulders as well so it call fill out some of the clothes I have for him Delf bodies are really slender.

@Serraphym: Ooh I'm assuming the Feeple body would be the closest in skin tone? The FeePle60 motion body on the Fairyland site looks good but I'm sad that they don't sell it separately. And the Aolingshi body wow! I hope it matches closely with your future El. (Also I'm excited to see your Moon with his faceup hehe!)

@LupusDarkmoon: Omg I didn't even think to use a Volks body haha! I'll try it on my SDGR body with the Type 2 mechanism (or the donut?!) and see what happens

 

I managed to put Moon on a SDGr B body! The body is from 2014 but has gone through the Volks peeling service so it's sort of new. The head is darker but they're both yellow-toned at least (not yellow and pink lol) , so with a more yellowed Volks body it should be a closer match?



The neck hole fits too. I don't know if the other heads have the same neck hole but if they do, a 9cm neck circumference would fit nicely.

I think Moon is one of the bigger Delf heads (?), so the shoulder width of the SDGr B body makes it look less bobble-headed.

Also, Moon is one of the sculpts that uses the type-2 Delf body so I had to use the neck part so he could fit the body. The only small issue is that the neck part can shift around sometimes. And you have to put the headcap on upside down haha

I might just get a SDGr B body if I can't find anything else that's suitable!

Looks like a nice fit! An older body, or one that hasn't been freshened up by Volks, would probably match better in color.

Yeah, the Type 2 heads don't like the neck donuts. Mine that use them also have their headcaps on upsidedown. Don't know why those posts on the headcaps have to be so long. c':

My Elf Yder is on a Supia body using neck donuts instead of the neck connector, and his headcap is on normally?

I do notice that the head unfortunately tends to snap down, but figured that's what I get for not stringing him with the new twist neck connector

 

Omg yes I have a few of mine with upside down head caps, thanks to the neck donut being in the way of the pegs. Also, for the snappy/moving necks I throw a kip in there and they calm right now. I've had to do this with every doll of mine that uses the turn key neck connector. Delf, Nanuri, MNF...it's just a thing. And if I don't have a kip, then hot glue works in a pinch.

Also...how is it almost mid-February already?? I need to photograph my delfs!

 

Moons look really good with wide shoulders. I think it's the combination of old-school large head + a more mature face than other Delfs. My Moon is on a Feeple65 body (the old one, so the color almost matches) and now I could never put him on a Delf body again!

Those stupid headcaps are such a nuisance when you use a neck donut LOL. Sometimes I can scoot the donut towards the front of the head and carefully twist the headcap on. But then the donut shifts around and starts nudging the headcap off. So then my next trick is to put a silicone cap on the head, which prevents the headcap from twisting. It's very annoying but I refuse to put their headcaps on upside down... I think it makes their head shape look too weird, even with a wig on

Most of my Delfs are type 1, though, so I've got bigger problems. I stubbornly insist on stringing them the old fashioned way, so all their elastic is attached directly to the headcap with an s-hook

@Akai Okami Uuggghhhh yep I totally blew Delfuary this year........ there's still time, but like. Am I gonna do it? Probably not.

 

I haven't actually tried swapping heads yet, but I got one of the new (2024) Impldoll bodies in "real skin" and the color is actually extremely close to my Soony. I love the body too, although I have heard that some people are experiencing big delays or incorrect orders from Impldoll lately.

The reason I haven't tried on the body swap is that Soony had had these very large wings tied onto her, so here's the photo tax:

 

Yeah that protrusion thing on the headcap really messes with the neck donut but it's not a big deal I'm just glad it worked out!

Omg that's genius I wish I knew about the kips thing earlier! I was so frustrated with the snappy neck issue and posing with the type 2 body that I stopped taking photos of him haha

Yes I love Moon's mature look a lot!

And omg I think I've gotta invest in a silicone cap too so the headcap stays on It's interesting to see how dolls have evolved! From attaching the elastic directly to the headcap to magnets (which comes with their own problems, but are definitely more user-friendly)

I have a white dreaming Lishe on a Mystic Kids white skin body, the match is really good.

 

I to will probably miss Delfruary. By the time I came up with a shoot idea the items I need will take to long to get here.

For anyone with an old school El what size eyes are you using? 16mm, 18mm?

 

18mm, absolutely. 16s can be used if you position the eyes straight ahead, but a sideways glance will cause a gap… at least that’s been my experience!

 

I use 18mm with a smaller iris size (7 I believe) and they sit very nicely with no gaps

 

I have 16mm eyes in mine, but as it was pointed out I keep his eyes forward so it works best with 16.

I brought Ilya (elf Yder) with me to day 2 of the NYC Doll Con and ran into a Lishe (Tempest)! We had some fun with the incredible dioramas there. I'm not sure he's at all qualified to be making drinks and am sad that I didn't bring my Shiwoo who actually works as a bartender, but at least they were having some good conversation

Ahhh everyone is posting their babies :< I want to shoot mine but half of their faceups are cracked or chipped >< I have to repaint them before I show them off!

 

I think I'm also going to do a self Redress tomorrow, although at least there areore goth/punk styled so there's not a whole lot of spring/summer clothes I have for them haha

 

I was just thinking about Spring outfits also. My Shiwoo always wears black or grey though lol so the closest thing I have for him in a short-sleeve black top My Yder though has lots of crisp white clothes to wear!

 

Noooo please show them anyways! This is a no-judgement zone. We all love seeing these precious sculpts in any state

 

I second what @Insane-Chan said! Plus, its pretty cool to see a Delf go from one faceup to another.

What's the forum's policy on posting sort of suggestive pics? I dressed my breakaway in head to toe jewelry chains but there's no nudity (think Britney Spears in Toxic). But still - by nature it would be suggestive.

 

Well, there's /threads/sexiest-position-pics-nsfw-obviously.224527/ this thread. There may be others, or you can make your own thread in the gallery. As long as your pics follow the forum's rules, you should be okay.
